Hello people,
I'm from India.
This is my better-late-than-never video review of the Moto G 2015.
If any queries regarding the product, ask away.
Do watch it. This the first review I have ever done.
Also, suggest for improvements.
Thanks

The screen is responsive enough. You may see it in the video, there is no lag and stuttering.
Ahhh maybe I should flash some new stock firmware then to update touchscreen drivers....
Could you confirm what radio your g3 is running, is it still 26R?

Doubts about getting OTA after flashing CM and then going back to stock
Hi,I am planning to buy the moto g3 16gb here in India.
So what i am thinking i gonna do is-
After first boot-->update to marshmallow-->unlock bootloader-->flash ported twrp(available here on xda)-->take aa full nandroid backup(maybe 2 backups!)-->flash super su
Or after backing up,directly flash CM12.1 snapshot and try ito
Here is the thread to restore factory images-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3169639
Will this process restore stock recovery, motorola stated that unlocking of bootloader doesn't affect the eligibility to get OTAs.Restoring nandroid will restore system but not recoveey and i cannot find a way to backup stock one
Also,i want to know if CM13 would be made officially for moto g3?then there would be no point for me to go to stock:fingers-crossed:

For getting OTA sucessfully flashed u need stock recovery and only stock rom only can do that... So u have to flash the stock rom with fastboot availale here in xda... I tried that and it work perfectly.
Battery drainig fast after update to marshmallow
I got ota update in my moto g3..nw I m in marshmallow.. But the main prob is after update to marshmallow I m getting lower battery backup than lollipop 5.1.1 ..
Then I talked to moto tech support team , they told me to do factory reset,n turnoff WiFi n Bluetooth scanning..I did all things but still battery drainig very faster than lolipop..

I am coming from an S2 and been considering an S4 and was wondering about the stability of the factory unrooted rom. I have read several complaints early on about freezes, crashes, and lag but was wondering if Samsung cleared that all up on the update that released after the phone was released. I normally root and run a custom rom but probably won't this time because of having a newborn and with working so much I'll just leave it stock for right now. So anyone with an updated stock GS4, I would greatly appreciate some honest feedback about how it is running. Thanks

He just said unrooted. He means stock ROM as in right when you buy it. The ROM that it comes with. And yes it is stable but could be a little better

The stock ROM (in my case - model SGH-I337M, firmware I337MVLUAMDJ) is very stable, I have yet to experience any freezing or force closes. I'm sitting here with about 300 hours of uptime so far, so it's not bad in my opinion.

I rooted stock but only disabled apps in factory interface, no other mods. No FCs, freeze or lag. I only reboot if I swap batteries.
My S4 was great before I rooted and son has not rooted and his phone is very stable also. I wouldn't hold back on this phone--it's amazing--
PS: There are always going to be negative posts. But, I think 98% of users love this phone--IMHO
stable yes, there is some lag and lots of useless apps etc. i hate carrier bloatware tho, because i travel a lot. last thing i need is useless apps from cosmote or docomo or wind or att on a phone that i cant get rid of; only reason i rooted the GS3 and Atrix 4G was to eliminate carrier bloat (also SIM unlocked them but that is because i travel internationally 1-2 times a month). The GS4 i wanted a faster ROM and to tweak it for my own reasons.
i didnt have any problems with stock rom stability, and it only lagged here and there and i only noticed it after flashing other roms.

I came from the I777 myself and still have mine as a backup (see my profile for evidence). The I337 (GS4) is extremely stable. Once you've killed most of the bloatware and turned off the air features (believe me, you won't need them), this phone becomes extremely awesome. Aside from the feel, the screen is brilliantly clear, and everything runs smoother and eye pleasant compared to the I777. When I had to send back my S4 for screen repair, going back to the S2 was day and night. Dark lighting, smaller build, and (yes) thicker. The durability of the S2 is nice, but that's all it wins.
Just go for it. You won't go wrong (but do get a sturdy case.)

lol your wasn't there when I posted, or I am blind
either way, not to hard for OP to look there first--
This is what Steve Kondik posted on OnePlus forums:
Just a quick update on the power issue in 30O..
Two issues that ended up in the build were identified and fixed. They weren't affecting everyone and were subject to hardware variations and timing, but our engineers worked quickly to get them resolved. The first issue was a very low-level system bus problem, while the second was a problem with how the proximity sensor is used to prevent false unlocks from gestures and double taps. We pride ourselves in the performance and low power consumption of 11S, and after these fixes our lab tests show improved numbers vs. 25R! This will go out as a small hotfix as soon as it's approved. Additionally, we are preparing another update in parallel that brings a few new features, a beautified lock screen, audio enhancements, polish on the new features in 30O, and of course bug fixes.
Both of these new builds are in the final testing and approval phases. I can't give any ETA because we are subject to third parties, but you should see the power hotfix in the next couple of days with the bigger update right on it's heels.
To ensure this doesn't happen again, we are bulking up our automated test systems to cover more cases, more often. Being a startup is both a blessing and a curse- while we can move fast on issues and updates, we are still building our automation and infrastructure. We depend on your feedback to tell us what we're doing right, as well as wrong! Additionally, we are working hard to reduce the time between updates even further so that they are more manageable.
Hang in there for just a bit and that unkillable battery will make a triumphant return.

I wonder if we go back to 25r if we will have to go to 30O then apply the new update or will they have a "new and improved" fixed 30O? BTW is your ability to have a different wallpaper on your lockscreen than on your home screen broken also?
I'm lucky if I can get 4 hours screen on time... Given I don't get good service for 8 hours, but still. I tried all the "fixes" out there. No luck.

Using the battery monitor widget I noticed my drain to be around 250ma with good signal and screen on, and well over 650ma when no signal. So keep in mind that lack of signal can triple your drain :/

Just pushed r13 which has a newer Touch Panel firmware from CM. Touch sensitivity seems much improved, which is a VERY welcomed plus. Also added support for PS3 controllers via OTG. I'll add MultiRom support on r14. Enjoy

or try and flash AK CM11S version, maybe latest _31b14 w/o changing back to 25R or smth else, (just to give a try as it is easier to change the Kernel than the ROM (you know...restoring stuff ))

I received the update about 2 hours ago. I am on CWM. When I flashed the update I was asked if I wanted to keep my recovery and my recovery was not affected. I did however have to reroot by flashing supersu in recovery. Re flashed Viper4Android and re-enabled xposed no problem. I can not wait for Lollipop for this device. I have the Nexus 5 and gave the final Dev preview a run and it was awesome. There was a 'Miscellaneous' battery drain that I could not pinpoint so I reverted. If it weren't for that I would have kept it on my device. It will sure look awesome on this phone. I think it would be cool if there were more Nvidia green in the OS for the new colorful Lollipop 5.0.

There are 3 different 6045i firmwares in the stock image thread. You could have backed up one at a time till you got one that worked with google voice and didn't have other issues.
But wouldn't that negate the positive results of the most recent update (improved DTTW, etc.)?

if they could fix the lags too
i was wondering, if we can't get ota update is it still possible to use the file update while being rooted?
hope this don't cause lags.. had the opposite result the last time I've updated..it was a mess
Well, I also use Hangouts Dialer and agree it's not a huge imposition. Still, no other handset I've ever used has had this bug, and I'd like the option of using the native dialer with GV. Regards from New Orleans...A.

Well, I also use Hangouts Dialer and agree it's not a huge imposition. Still, no other handset I've ever used has had this bug, and I'd like the option of using the native dialer with GV. Regards from New Orleans...A.

Off topic. But how do you like or compare to the blu life one 2015?
I like the Blu Life One LTE quite a bit. Bought it for $99 off Amazon during a pre-order promotion, and have been using out to compare various carriers alongside my Idol 3. Considering that it has only 1 gig of RAM, it's remarkably smooth. Very bright 720p display, good battery life. A paltry 8g of onboard storage, but I'm an app minimalist, and it does take an optional SD card. Dual SIM capability which has come in handy, though you must choose between SD card or SIM 2.
The Idol 3 is considerably more powerful (600-class Snapdragon versus 400; 2 gigs of RAM, bigger, full HD display, etc.). Covers more LTE bands, including Band 12, which is important for T-Mobile users like myself. Substantially better speakers.
I'm somewhat of a phone hobbyist, and have been playing with a number of inexpensive handsets lately (these two and a Lumia 640 -- amazing phone for $100 or less). I've gained new respect for this class of handset. See little or no need to pay flagship prices. But I don't game, so don't tax a CPU as some other users might.
I've been using an HTC One M7 on Verizon, but an going to move to T-Mobile. Coverage is solid here in New Orleans, and for my family (four of us) it's vastly less expensive, with vastly more data.

Do you have a source for that bit of news? Are there any other fixes coming besides Stagefright, GV, and SMS timestamp issues?
Nevermind, found it. Source of his posting here.
Hi All --
Wanted to let you guys know a new software update for IDOL 3 users will be released on or around August 10. This update will initially be available to IDOL 3 customers in the U.S. and will address fixes for Google Voice and SMS time stamp issues experienced by some users, as well as a Google security patch for the Stagefright vulnerability. For IDOL 3 customers in Canada, we are working with our carrier partners and hope to have an availability update for this very shortly.

Posted a thread that should be useful to the folks who plan to revert to stock to install the update. http://forum.xda-developers.com/ido...e-custom-update-zips-to-t3175068?goto=newpost
I plan to give it a try and if it works I'll TRY to capture the 6045i update url as I did the previous updates..(I use a transparent squid proxy that all devices in my house go through to get to the internet. It allows me to intercept the url)..if I can get the update.zip downloaded I will make it available and perhaps some users will be able to sideload the update with less hassle.

That would be awesome. I'm in Canada and don't want to have to wait for my carrier to 'Ok' an update for a major security issue like this.
If that could be done for 6045k since I saw one user on this forum from Portugal with K model and 01003 update..
Meaning the update is pushed different from region to region..

Once someone who is un-rooted receives notification of this update, would you please post here letting us know the update has started to roll out? I don't think rooted users will get a notification of the update since we can't even check for one without getting a notification of being rooted.

So if I unroot to get this update, am I even going to be able to reroot?
I was really hoping I wouldn't have to mess around with anything more on this phone until CM is out for it.

Pretty sure you will still be able to re-root.
I can confirm that using the Full Unroot method via SuperSU works on this phone. I just ran it out of curiosity and followed the steps and SuperSU is gone from the app drawer and I am able to check for updates. See screenshots:
