Hi,
I'm looking for some info about "carjoying.com/ in-dash-gps-navigation-system/ford-head-units/joying-best-android-4-4-4-kitkat-head-unit-quad-core-1024-600-double-din-7-inch-gps-navigation-system-16-gb-memory-support-steering-wheel-control-wifi-obd-airpaly.html"
My car is Ford Mondeo Mk4 2007 year. In description is stated that this device is compatible with Mondeo 2007-2010. I contacted with Joying and they sad that this device is NOT compatible with my car. I'm confused.
Did someone use joying device in Mondeo MK4?

Hello
because now most of china OEM DVD Player factories can not resolve the ford Convers +problem ,their canbus can not work with the system ,so steering wheel control ,and convers+ information can not display on the dash ,that's why Joying can not support on your car . If you have Ford car ,when you want to buy a new DVD player ,better give a picture of your dashboard to the sellers ,and consult them about convers +
Hi,
I've sent them a picture of my dashboard and they said their device is not compatible with my car.
Obviously I'm going to buy an Eonon unit. Their devices at least have support for steering wheel.
Thank you for the help.
This video seems to be proof that some unit can talk with Converse+

Resurrect an old thread. Interesting video, we don't know what the unit is or who the supplier is (both of the Canbus and Headunit)? Does anyone know what the current state of affairs is regarding Android 5.1 Headunits and Convers+ ?

I'll second this 'bump' as I too am looking for a solution to get full Convers+ functionality with my Android head unit (Auto-Pumpkin in a Mondeo Mk4) :good:
Seems that the Convers+ issue has not been resolved yet....
on the Joying page there is a blog that clearly states:
And you can installed our Ford Special Car Radio directly in your Ford II (2008-2012), Mondeo (2007-2011), S-MAX (2008-2010). But all of our Android Car Radio cannot support the Ford Converse+ system.
I have seen youtube videos that show otherwise.
So what does support really mean in this case?

I have found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXXcxf1RFqk
The pre-facelift convers+ works with kitkat 4.4.4.
still says no convers+ ( i dont even know what that is), but I know there is a new 2GB unit for the Mondeo:

I got Xtrons pf75fsfa 5.1 unit for my Mondeo mk4 2008. It works with steering wheel buttons, but not with display (i have small display, not converse).
The unit is working surpringsly well - radio reception is good, gps is fast, sound is much better than the oem cd6000.
I have some wishes for the software, but for now is perfect.

I can agree, so the "play CD" can be removed from the required list
That unit you pointed to, is very cool, to bad it's for a MK5, and don't fit my Mondeo.
Do you know the make of the unit? I tryed using Google translate, but could not find it.

Hello!
Can someone confirm that this Steering wheel control work on the new universal Joying HU's?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NH0ST1T
It has the exact same wires to connect as the Joying SWC but this looks so much better and have more buttons
Cheers
Joying has told me that only the universal head units can use aftermarket SWC buttons. I have a VW-specific model and they don't work.

I have noticed that Joying likes to lie or be ignorant about things.
This is the one that I use in my Kia for my joying intel unit.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B4PJC9K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I never needed one until this new intel unit and they keep telling me that I connected it wrong despite my other 2 Joying units working.
Digital 3wire SWC
Simply yes its a digital 3 wire connection.. However just because the wires are hooked up doesnt mean its prograed to know which button is which. This must be done manually. Its the same for Sony or Pioneer.
Hi everyone, I’m new to this forum. I know a bit about Volvo (the older ones!), and Volvo head units, but not about Chinese Android head units.
I’m considering replacing the aging head unit of my (also aging!) 2002 Volvo V70. The head unit is a simple HU 603, so no Dolby, center speaker or extra amplifier. I’m looking at Xtrons TA702P (quad core) or TB706PL (octa core). I prefer a 7 inch touch screen, no knobs, no DVD. But navi should be good, as would radio. Music I can play through usb. And my Elephone S7 (Android 7.1) phone should mirror on the unit if possible.
Other functions like back up camera or steering wheel control are not important to me.
I know how to take the HU 603 out. I know I need an adapter harness to connect with the new unit. And a fascia adapter. All that is available.
My questions:
Xtrons has many car/model specific head units (not for Volvo). They have Canbus decoders supplied with the unit. Not so for the TA702P or the TB706PL. Will that give problems? (The answer from the ebay seller is somewhat useless: ‘Both the TB706PL and the TL702P does not come with the canbus so that you just ignore it.’) Anyone has experience with this?
How are user experiences with these modern Xtrons units? I know, ‘you get what you pay for’, I know that. But still, worth the money?
Units from Kenwood or Pioneer are other options, but again, is it worth it?
Thanks!
Hi there
I own and drive a V70 from 2006. I have replaced the original HU with a SONY 2 DIN unit (XAV-V630BT). This unit has great sound. I also swapped the speakers to JBL. It is totally worth it.
I have a CANbus to resistor unit. This makes it possible to use the steering wheel buttons.
Right now i am testing a Android HU. Unfortunately i have bought the wrong one. The unit is full of bad design choices. The sound integration in the unit is bad. I think that radio, BLUETOOTH and AUX sound runs directly to the sound processor. This means that when the Android unit plays a sound, the sound from the other units are turned off. In my opinion the other source should just fade a little.

Hi there
As said, I don't need steering wheel controls, my steering wheel doesn't even have the buttons. Must have been a cheapskate first owner!
Does this mean the Canbus only affects steering wheel control? So ignoring Canbus (no resistor as in your case), will give no problems?
And yes, by now I've found out Android units may not have the best sound quality. Or radio reception.

Hi All,
My brother just purchased an all-in-1 9" Android head unit + facia for his 2005 Mazda 6 (GG). Listing can be seen here:

He has installed the unit and everything works fine while the car's ignition is only turned to accessories. However, as soon as he turns the car key 1 click further to power up the ignition (but the not has not yet started), the steering wheel controls go nuts. That is, once the key is turned to ignition, it's like one of the steering control buttons is constantly being pressed and the head unit either continually skips through songs or it continually skips through tuning radio stations, depending on whether the unit is set to playback songs or to the radio. Curiously, this problem doesn't occur when only the accessories are powered on (ignition not yet powered on).
The details of his unit are shown in the attached image. He currently has the steering wheel controls disconnected due to the issue, which I'm guessing is why the unit shows "Ruishengwei-Mazda6--disconnect".
I did some searching but didn't find anyone else reporting this issue. Anybody have any insights as to what might be the issue? If so that would be greatly appreciated.

My brother has sent a message to the seller querying about the steering wheel control issue, but no response yet, unfortunately.
Okay, good news. My brother managed to sort the issue. For anybody who has the same problem, here are the details of the fix that worked for him:
Coming from the 9" Android headunit there's a wire called 'Key 1'. This Key 1 wire needed to be connected to the red/blk wire of the Mazda's headunit wiring harness.
I should also mention that his Mazda 6 GG has the non-Bose stereo, however, as seen in the attached image, the non-Bose and Bose headunits both have the same red/blk wire.

If you can't find a head unit of a known brand you can buy such a frame with harness for your car and a 9 inch head unit separately.
Best start is to search for the pinout description of your current OEM radio. Because this gives you the possibility to validate the connections and to check if your cars SWC is a resistant matrix. Additonally it helps to use an existing reverse camera.
This can be done before you invest money.
If your SWC it is a resistance matrix you can directly connect the head unit and use the learn functionality to map your SWC buttons to different functions.
If you already have a reverse camera and you want to continue to use it you have to connect it by yourself. E.g. by finding a prepared adapter or by creating your own. Here is the description how I realized it for another car - just to give you an idea:
Junsun V1 MTK8259 - the adapter battle (Kia Ceed Jd) / OEM camera usage / reference thread
I bought the Junsun V1 head unit but my Kia Ceed JD had a OEM nav unit which isn't directly compatible to Junsun V1. So I re-wired the wiring harness based on the pins description of my original OEM navigation unit. I'm only modifying the wiring...
forum.xda-developers.com
The head unit sellers estimation is that you start with a stupid radio and so my car, which already had an outdated navigation head unit, was a special case - without a ready to use solution.
And please figure out if you own a Ford Mondeo MK3 or a MK4.
Car is MK4 and as far as I know it has resistant matrix at SWC. I found the same fascia as in picture you sent.
Reason why I wan't to install 9" unit is that I have Junsun V1 Pro from my former car. It would not be very expensive to test how it works, only CanBus decoder and wiring harness needed.

If you don't need CAN features even the decoder isn't needed. And it's better to connect resistant matrix bypassing the can box.

But now I see that you air condition has no separate display. As you know, to get this functionality a can box is required.
