Hi Friends,
Any body tried this website cell2getdotcom. Gnote over there is 620usd plus free shipping and i have found a 25usd coupon as well. When i applied the coupon it was redeemed successfully, but i didnt go on with completing the order. Anybody ever bought anything from them.
I will call them in the morning to find out if they have any retail location. Google customer reviews are good and one customer was referring to a retail location in newyork.
Damn that's a good price. Lowest on Amazon is $699 right now. Tempted to pull trigger on this but still hesitant after returning my first gnote for screen issues. Let us know if you talk to them tomorrow...

the review is somewhat mixed for the site :x but ppl do get the phone they ordered. some come in perfect, some are locked, some are refurbished etc... so it's a gamble i guess. But since the note is still quiet new now, chance for a refurbished phone is pretty rare i suppose.

Definitely post back, please. I'd do a pickup too. But from their online rep, I'd wouldn't be surprised by bait 'n switch tactics. Most of the "good" comments are obviously manufactured - eg
Nice company to do business with. I don’t do reviews too often but felt compelled to share my overwhelmingly positive experiences so far these past four purchases. I just want to let everyone know that if you like shopping the old-fashioned way, then this is the way to go, with these folks!

Be careful!
I don't like the website it seems like they have everything.
Be very cautious of NYC based electronics websites. Unless it's a B&H Photo or other recognized business.
PATIENCE is the key. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain by waiting awhile.
Prices will go down, Development will be more matured, Many more used devices to chose from. Maybe something new comes out that's better. I have never been an early adopter. I respect those who are and love being the first on the block. I have saved hundreds and had far less headache waiting a while. Just bought the wife's SGS II used for $400 with a lot of accessories chargers and batteries, I bought mine used, Warranty new was not an option in the US anyway, May as well buy from someone who made it work for them.
Probably buy a used Note as well.. in a few months or when I see used prices below $500.
I ordered through cell2get, after reading reviews I was nervous. Online it says nothing about being out of stock but after making the charge and ordering it I received an email thanking me for my order. About 2 hours later i received another email stating they were out of stock. The money is still "pending" and I have not been refunded yet.
Edit: After 5 days my money has been refunded to my account.
"Cell2Get is one of the Nation’s largest cell phone retailers and is generally regarded as offering the best contract-free phone deals on the web"
Orrrrr, they could be a crappy fly by night store in Brooklyn that I've never even heard of (I'm from the area). That quote was from their "about" page. Dishonest on the page, dishonest to the customer's face.
Yep, i was on the verge of placing my order until i read the reviews and changed my mind.
Got it on craigslist factory sealed last week for 670 cash. Probably the cheapest you can find
And don't forget to send the link to the cell2get price to convince the craigslist seller to drop the asking price Works like a charm
Or use that link for anyone who promises price matches.
I ordered a Galaxy Note GT-N7000 (i9220) from 1saleaday.com on 03/15/12, and finally received the shipment yesterday (03/28/12). When I opened the shipping container, I discovered an unsealed Galaxy Note box (These were sold as BNIB) that contained all of the accessories, but no Galaxy Note. I have been in constant contact with them the last two days, at which point they tried to persuade me into purchasing today's deal on the Note, at which point they would refund my money and cancel my previous order. Unwilling to do this, because I am already out $584, and was not prepared to throw good money after bad to a company that does not even have a customer service phone number, I was finally informed at the end of their business day today (4:30 PM EDT) that I would NOT be receiving a refund, after all. You see, apparently I am not alone in this, and rather than them take care of the customers who have already tied money up in their shady venture, they now want to do an "investigation" into how widespread this may be. I signed a sworn affidavit attesting to the fact that I did not receive the phone, just the box and accessories, yet they still refuse to refund my money or send me the phone. I do not believe they do this to everyone, but I think they selectively choose random customers here and there when they think they can get away with committing fraud. So, consider this a heads up that doing business with these losers can leave you without the item you paid for or the money you used to pay for it.
I have bought quite a number of items from 1Saleaday and received everything in order including a BNIB HTC View 4G. Just file a dispute or charge back from your Credit Card. Hope you get your money/phone asap.
I have gotten a tentative refund from my credit card company, but this could easily devolve into a "he said, she said" mess, which I want to avoid. What I do not want to avoid is publicly defecating on their business name, which I am in the process of doing across the internet.
I bought a motorola Atrix lapdock from them a couple of week ago. Finally got it 3 and1/2 Weeks later. It was a b#$&h trying to communicate with them. It was only $55 but I was that close to calling my credit card company and filling a claim to get my money back. that's the first and last time I'm buying anything from 1 sale. Might be a good idea to call your credit card up and see what your options are.

well when u think about it its not really their fault some employee probably at the shopping warehouse stole it and ofcourse the want to check into it, if they gave everyone a refund as soon as they got a complaint they would be in major trouble

Exactly. I'm no fan of 1Sale either, but they can't just issue such a large refund immediately. If I were in charge, I'd want to investigate this claim as well.
Their internal investigation is of no consequence to me. They asked me to just sign an affidavit so they could issue the refund, I did so, and the minute I told them I was not interested in buying today's special, they changed their tune. Either state that I am getting it, dependent on some conditions, or tell me they need to look into the matter further.

+1 for sure, I always set up my tripod and camera before I open the package, even if I'm super excited to get it. I've gotten a box of CD's and a few rocks instead of an XBOX on Ebay. I'll never make that mistake again.
I had an interesting experience with them as well when I was in the market for a 2nd computer to do some dev work on. Received the computer that I purchased from them and it had a bad power supply. Argued with them and it took 3 weeks after receiving the computer for them to issue me an RA and return shipping label, then another 3 weeks to get my refund.
I ordered 3 htc Evo views from them all came flawless. Also ordered 32gb cards a bunch of other things from then with no issues. Hope everything works out in your favor...

What do you guys think? It says you try for 2 weeks then I'm pretty sure you gotta buy the phone on its actual price. Lol just thought it was interesting 0.01 off contract.
I wonder what the marketing team is playing at here. This is a unique way of selling phones.
so what if i get one for 2 weeks and then decide i dont want it? do i just send back a customized Moto X with no other charges? seems a little sketchy to me

It's possible they would require you to ship it back to them on your dime. IMO, this is completely fair. The penny puts your CC on their account. If people decide to take advantage of this for fraudulent reasons, Moto has your CC on their database and can easily charge you the full amount. This also moves units as well and gains exposure for the phone(sounds like their 500M marketing budget was cut). Some people may be convinced to keep the phone because spending the effort to ship back the phone may be too dissuading.
For our benefit, we get to test-run a phone at no risk for 2 weeks and we just have to send it back if we're done. That sounds good to me. Of course if they provide pre-paid labels to send back, then it really is no-risk for us.

Thats what im thinking. i want to try out a Wooden back before i use my code! if i cant get one, try it out and send it back for $.01, thats a no brainer. or even let my girlfriend try it out for 2 weeks and not use her GS3 that she always complains about...(Dont want her to get a iph*ne)
There is no charge to send it back from what i have heard.
No charge for shipping or the return either (you contact FedEx and they send the return packaging and can pick it up as well).
Motorola knows people will attempt to scam them for phones with this, if you read the FAQ for this Try Before You Buy offer they make it clear they can and will remotely brick the phones if you attempt to rip 'em off (not sure there's any actual way to stop that, even with using custom ROMs, etc, I have no idea).
If you do decide to keep one they'll attempt to charge the credit card the full price, and if that doesn't go through they'll then push lawyers on you so, I'm pretty sure they're covered.
Worse comes to worse they can simply push the IMEI to the national blacklist and the phone is dead regardless.
I mean, for a penny, if they're willing to ship me one I'd love to try one out for a time, can just slide my T-Mobile SIM in it and I'm good to go.
<least till this Sprint/T-Mobile and now SoftBank crap gets resolved 'cause if it happens you can be damned sure they're going to kill the $30/month plan so many of us love...>

Although if you're willing to put the full price on a credit card (instead of only "paying a penny") you can still try one out for 14 days and return it free if you want.

I don't think you can return it if you buy it full price I think you can only exchange it for a different color option.
But anyway I was looking forward for this promotion as I can't stand my note 3 anymore because it's so laggy but when I woke up this morning all the codes were gone
If anyone has a spare one and willing to give it away for free I will gladly take it
Got a Royal Blue, White Front and Metallic accent ordered. I'm 50/50 right now on keeping it past 14 days once it gets here.
Just seems for the $400+ price it's a little steep
Got one to try out and possibly keep. White/Bamboo/Silver Accents & 64gb. Always liked the X and wanted one since last Fall.

I was able to return the X I bought during the black Friday promotion within 30 days (CA resident) with no penalty and free shipping. Maybe they've changed their policy since January.
Anyways, I ordered a blue/white/bamboo 32gb to try out. If the screen and camera are better than the one I had in December, I'll seriously consider keeping it. My nexus 4 has been struggling lately and I don't know if it'll make it to the X+1/Nexus 6(?) release in September.

Did you get an email saying it was on hold or did you proactively have to contact CS to learn this? You'd think they'd be capable of handling a huge influx of orders at this point.
I am bummed. I needed a replacement/repair on my XT1045. Mic developed issues and also has had the USB charging issue (cable has to be in just the right position to actually charge (suspect USB port breaking loose from MB) so I opened an Advanced Exchange ticket with Motorola. No problem...then a week went by and no new phone (should have gone out in 24hrs overnight according to the email I received).
Key here is nobody at Motorola even tried to contact me about sending a different let alone downgraded phone.
Contacted via online chat and was told I could not be helped and had to call live people during business hours, I work nights and at least 6-days/week -- days are problematic. Not a huge deal but I was disappointed.
While waiting for time to call, phone sort of still works but not well, about 14-days after original ticket opened I get email indicating my phone was shipped. I was happy it was going to arrive the next day, my day off by 10:30AM. FedEx driver decided because I sleep days to not "bother me" in before noon so he changed the delivery time to about 12N. At least they guy was trying but overnight AM is used for a reason, right, not a biggie.
Phone arrives, I put it aside for and when I open it later that day I find it's kinda big, in fact huge. I grab my XT1045 and guess what? It's a Moto G 2014 (XT1064)....sigh....no LTE. OK I am willing to play along, that is until I find it refuses to connect to my carrier when SIM from XT1045 is inserted. SIM is LTE so no issues with backward compatibility, in theory....anyway for two days I try and nothing fixes it.
I email Motorola to the help address they put in the package with the XT1064. In less than 24hrs I get a phone call from Motorola to tell me they are sending me a new Moto X 2014, well a code to let me build my own. I was dead asleep and just said "....ummmm, OK that is nice of you..." I normally would have asked what about the lack of a SD card slot? Now I have to still buy find and buy new case and I LOVED my XT1045 in it's MPERO Mint/Orange case because I can find it wherever I set it down at work. Plus the way I use my phone for work is to handle up to 100-150 calls on busy days. On those days I get a solid 18-30hrs battery life which helps if I forget to charge it the night before or before work. Under non-work days I am solid at 35-48 hrs.
See I don't use my phone for other than calls and brief web searching and I have a number of services turned off unless I need them. It's a trade off.
OK, having made short story long I am being sent, gawds knows when, a new Moto X which while an amazing phone, might not be the phone for ME. I really NEED my SD card slot as I use my phone to also upload photos to backup storage when on a shoot (in the field so to speak other wise away from a desktop). So now I'm not able to do that...in fact the SD card slot was a primary reason for the XT1045, along with the great voice quality on the other end.
I suspect I might be whinging over nothing as the Moto X is a dandy phone but it's targeted at a different sort of user. I'm more utilitarian, I use mine as a tool more than anything else and am not sold the X-2014 (sorry can't find the model number)
And last the case I've grown to love is not yet to be had for the new phone and with my luck, it never will be...but my MPERO by Empire Case had been a fantastic case on par or better than the Otterbox Commute. Plus the colors have gotten me a ton of complements from perfect strangers. That helps in my business.
I applaud Motorola for making the effort to make a bad decision and situation right by me. Yet I am already thinking how much this will cost me in the end.
I guess the real thing I am passing along is there seem to not be any replacement XT1045's to send out as replacements under warranty. Odd they still list them for sale but I have to wonder if there is a reason they are not sending them out. Of course it could be related to my phone being only a couple months old.
I suppose worst case I can sell the Moto X, could only get a 16gb version for my carrier it seems. But I dunno....I just already miss a great phone that I had hoped to use for many years. sniff...sniff...

Ummm, no thanks, that was not the intent of my post. And were I to get rid of the Moto X 2014 it would sold for the $500 it's worth right now not traded for a phone I can buy new for $200. Good try though....
We'll see how the Moto X work for me, that pesky SD card slot is a big deal for my use...of course I can use my old LG Metro (it has an SD card slot) tethered to the X via wifi or BT and then send the RAW photos upstream. Complicated but doable I suppose.
All I know is my XT1045 was ideal. I guess I should be willing to try a new thing... ???

You kids crack me up...you don't see a phone as a business tool for specific uses not a toy. The Moto X (XT1095) is a dandy phone BUT I would never have purchased it due to the fact it lacks one feature I require for my workflow and is lacking in another area compared to my Moto G LTE which is battery life.
Of course I am going to try the Moto X and see if I can find something workable but it will be a tedious deal to juggle getting photos in the field from the camera's SD card to an intermediary device then to the XT1095 and ultimately to my online backup. With my XT1045 it's simply a matter of inserting the SD card and letting Box and Dropbox backup the files automagically, no fuss no muss.
And no an SD card with WIFI is not an option as it puts a camera body down for the time it takes to transfer the 8gb-16gb+ of RAW images.
All solutions mean I have to spend more money to find a solution after a WARRANTY repair. That is what is so ironically funny-sad here and I LOVE the XT1045 as it gave me all i need but just failed after less than 3-months use.
Motorola was GREAT in their service, they offered the best solution they could, am not unhappy with them it is the disruption with a workflow I have crafted and rely upon to earn a living.
Sell the phone just adds another layer of complexity I don't care to make time for but will likely have to. I was one of the original eBay Power Sellers and kept that for over a decade, I have sold enough crap on eBay that I'm done selling, hehehe, burnt out was a better description.
SO it's NOT whinging-whining; it's frustration with a simple exchange gone sideways. Plus do not lose sight of the fact they sent a Moto G 2014 first rather than contact me about not having any access to the XT1045 replacements. And the Moto G 2014 was indeed a downgrade or at best a sideways change due to no LTE. And it turned out to have issues right out of the box.
Get it now?

oh, I love the idea of what Motorola did for me. They showed they value our business. It was I have a specific need and picked the XT1045 because it fit my needs perfectly even with just 8GB.
The thing for me is time involved. I grew to really appreciate the XT1045 and also had the perfect case. If I keep the xt1095 all accessories have to be repurchased as well and at a new-release premium.
it's all about trade offs and if the new.phone delivers I'm thrilled but if not it will be almost 2-months into the process of a.simple exchange.
I was really posting to show Moto tries where so many companies just blow us off. But also to show warranty returns might be at issue for people with fairly new G LET phones due to appropriate replacement phones. I suspect it's part of the Lenovo purchase that's pending.

And it turned out to have issues right out of the box.

umm the new moto g (2014) has an SD card slot. look here
http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_moto_g_(2014)-6647.php
this thread looks like nothing but complaining.
Gen2 lists for $140 on Amazon for a few more hours
FYI
The "global" one - best for ATT's network bands - is still available as the "deal of the day" on Amazon for $139.99
The "US" version - best for T-Mobile's 3G bands - sold out.
Note 2nd Gen has no LTE version yet, but yes support the SD card - apparently can get some 64GB to work, not just 32 as spec'd.
You are being a huge ungrateful baby. The moto x is a huge upgrade, and there are always other ways of doing things that oftentimes end up working better. Or, sell it and buy a new g 4g and pocket the cash. Either way, you win thanks to what sounds like some pretty awesome customer service. Too bad it was wasted on you.
There is literally not a single reason for the existence of this thread.

^ Truth.
It is rather standard for companies to replace old out of stock models with new ones. In the case of phones, they have short manufacturing runs and when a new model is out you can bet that the manufacturer has dumped all their old stock onto carriers and shops already. ie. even if you bought it today from a 3rd party, you should not expect Motorola to have it for replacement. In the future keep that in mind and ask from the start if you can get the exact same model as replacement or what your options are.
Edited - it is $200 on ebay now:

Just wanted to give people a head's up - you can get a brand new Verizon Moto X Dev Ed on ebay for $220. Click through ebates, fatwallet or mrrebates and you get another 2% back. Not much cash back, but it is better than nothing.
I don't think these come with a manufacturer's warranty but idk for sure. It's a great price for a great phone!! I actually like the white woven back/black front combo a lot.
Just search for Verizon Moto X on ebay and you will find the listing. N/A. Last night there were only about 500 sold but tonight over 1600 sold! I don't know how many the guy has to sell.
Also check your email for an email from paypal for a $50 statement credit if you sign up for paypal credit. Not everyone gets the offer, but it came around the end of November. If you sign up and then buy the phone on credit, you will get a $50 statement credit! Check your spam folder if have a paypal account and don't see the offer but like I said, not everyone gets the offer.

Do be aware, it seems most of these are from the September 2014 batch that left the factory with incorrect programming (seems the CID is set wrong) and the boot loader unlock site will tell you that the phone cannot be unlocked.
Your going to need to go to this: https://forums.motorola.com/posts/f2061da875?page=1 thread and read the section of the OP in red letters if that is the case. It provides an email address you can email your information to get the unlock code.
Motorola IS unlocking these phones however, and having read through that thread multiple people have inquired about warranty and been told its being honored...
Still a good deal, I have been happy with my phone... but it took about 5 days to get it unlocked and a bit of digging around to figure it all out. Now that Motorola has been dealing with the issue, and you already know about it it should be a lot quicker to get your code. I got in RIGHT after then stopped having you PM oliver on the forum, right before they started trying to figure out how to handle us all.

i had the sept built one. moto sent me an unlock code and now i am all unlocked and rooted! happy buy
If you're on Verizon and are looking for a smaller phone that can be rooted/boatloader unlocked, get this. Root exploits are likely going to be harder to come by after 5.0. With this phone you don't have to worry about root exploits being closed with an OTA.

Nice, thats a better deal than eBay. Plus its Amazon fulfilled so if there are any issues Amazon is much better to deal with than a random eBay seller.

Me too!
I ordered the Moto X Developer Edition that will work with Verizon Wireless on Amazon yesterday. I can hardly wait to get in my hands so I can play with it and get everything from my Samsung Galaxy S3 transferred over to it. Looks like it will be one that I will definitely be very happy with. I've had Motorola cell phones and smartphones in the past and they have never let me down.

It'll be a nice jump up from the S3. I'm back on the 2013 version after trying both the droid turbo and moto x 2014. It's a great little phone!
I purchased a new Moto X Verizon Dev Ed from one of the cheaper sellers on Amazon. As expected it was part of the Sept. 2014 batch of phones. I used the links provided on the first page and had my code from Motorola in less than 12hrs and had Lollipop installed not much longer after that.
Very happy with the purchase, don't be scared by the Sept 2014 batch of phones the process is simple (if you can unlock the boot, you have the abilities) and quick.

I just went to that last December from the S3 to the Moto X (1st gen). Love it, love it, love it. NO LAGS!!!! It's been seamless and smooth. Battery life is excellent. I get almost a day and a half if I'm not playing Diamond Digger (the makers of Candy Crush). I love the notification without having to open it up (have a pin code). I have it paired with my Bluetooth stereo in my Honda which plays music off the phone. It even reads back to me whenever I get a text message and gives me the option to respond (and this while driving ). I'm still trying to get use to using Google Now commands so I can do things more hands free.

I got mine almost three weeks ago and I'm really loving how this one works. I also find that my phone really doesn't lag like the S3 did. The cell phone signal is also a lot better on this phone. I really notice it when I'm at work.
