For those who missed it and are still holding out for the note 5 release in europe :
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_gal...to_europe_as_soon_as_august_28-news-13675.php
Seems a rather odd marketing strategy and if it is one then I would argue that it has backfired.
If it does get released on the 28th , which hasnt been verified by any other source, i would tend to agree.
I believe they have lost "a few" customers and it will get worse the longer they wait.
IFA Berlin 2015 is coming up and LG and Sony will release their versions and they WILL include everything Samsung left out.
If they release after IFA then they will loose even more , personally will buy a LG PRO 4 or whatever the name will be.
It has stylus , sd card , removable battery ... everything thats missing from Samsung right now
Immediately after hearing these news, I tried to see if there are any additional signs of existence of this European model SM-N920F and guess what? To my big surprise there is! I searched through Geekbench database and there are fresh results of SM-N920F. These results were not before as I was monitoring this model entry way before! Here is the link
At least we know that this device is being tested and it gives mores power to this European release report
Edit: It has the same Exynos 7420 but 3GB Ram Something is messed up!
SM-N920F references were out weeks 'before' Samsung announced / decided to cancel its release.
They have repeatedly clarified there are NO plans for a European release. The presumption it would come next year was by the media which was later clarified by Samsung that its not.
Sadly the only way it's coming to Europe is if you import one.

Hello, where did you see any references of SM-N920F? Because from Geekbech there were plenty evidences of existence before the official release of all other variants except SM-N920F. Yesterday were the first entries of SM-N920F on Geekbench. Don't be fooled by the last 3 entries of Geekbench, those entries are incorrect and they are for IOS and probably its from Ipad Air 2.

It has region locking, but that can get done before shipping. (that have to put local card and talk for a bit before region lock is disabled)
I like that it has 13 lte bands compared to Canadian 9. I lose warranty anyways due to root/Knox.

I am sensing SUNDAY June 12th AT&T release of Samsung Galaxy Attain (almost 11 months after the Captivate)!!!
How long was it from when they made the announcement last year did the Galaxy S actually go on sale on AT&T?
Here you go, last years dates I posted earlier
kreoXDA said:
Do you guys remember how the first Galaxy was introduced on the 4 carriers last year?
Let me remind you
June 4th - first release in Asia
June 29th - launch party in New York City where it was first announced that 4 models were coming to 4 carriers, with no dates. (+25 days)
Later on, gradually, release dates were being announced about 1-3 weeks prior to a particular release. The phone was released as follows:
T-Mob - July 15th (+41 days)
AT&T - July 18th (+44 days)
Sprint, keyboarded CDMA version - August 30th (+87 days)
Verizon, CDMA version - September 9th (+97 days)
We learned that SGS1 was even coming to the United States 3.5 weeks after the phone was released in Asia.
The quickest provider T-Mob got it almost 6 weeks after the first country.
The slowest provider VZW - 3 months after.
So give this some time, sit back, relax, wait for bug reports from the UK beta testers , and enjoy your fixed (or maimed) version in a few short weeks.
peace

Note the US Launch party last year was 25 days after first international release, and this event is around 25 days after Korea/UK release
lol after dealing with the ATT Craptivate for a year I'll gladly "beta test" the vanilla samsung GS2
good luck with your carrier updates. I'm done purchasing US phones "variants" that force you to use reorient kernels for the Roms.
Thanks for the release date info. Looks like they're following a similar schedule... just bumped ahead 1 month from last year =)
Still, as much as I'd like to wait for a US variant... I don't really want to have to sign a contract to get one, nor do I want to put up with the bloatware and filth they put on the phone. Rooting and flashing ROMs on my T-mobile spec Galaxy S was annoying, having to ODIN back to certain firmwares before being able to flash a new ROM.
And the one question that I'm still wondering... will the US be getting a tegra version? That would suck =(

i've been off contract since Dec. i had originally settled on getting the Infuse when it was first announced but instantly fell in love with the SGS2 and decided to wait. but... i need a new phone NOW. actually i needed a new one 2 months ago but decided to hold strong for the SGS2... but it's come to a point where my current phone is damn near unusable, so i think i'm going to get the infuse when it launches and roll the dice on the sgs2 coming out before the remorse period ends. or failing that just give it back and wait some more for the sgs2 to release.
I think the best option for some of us is to buy the carrier branded version on contract, sell it, and use that money to get the vanilla SGS 2. After dealing with all the Captivate issues as well I'm never buying a carrier branded Android ever again.

not to mention the Craptivate looks ugly as hell and nothing like a SGS
If i was on att there would be no doubt id go with international like you said no waiting for carrier update, no carrier branding and missing hardware features.
I really wish carriers kept the design the same as the international it would be so much easier to update and to port roms

That's one point where you're crazy. The Captivate is the nicest Galaxy S and has a lot less plastic than any other one. Everyone has told me they liked the Captivate over the other Galaxy S variants. I've been very happy with the Captivate, but not as happy about the AT&T branding and waiting for their crap.
I would much rather spend the money and buy the phone unlocked than buy it from ATT.

Only issue I see with this is warranty support. If Samsung US would support a UK model fine, but if it requires international shipping that would give me pause.
What if the US version has NFC? Would that change your mind?
Yes, NFC is useless right now, but wouldn't that at least lower your resell value of the UK version whenever one else in your area has NFC?

Given the fact (I hope) all 4 major carriers are getting it, and AT&T, VZW and T-Mob are in an NFC payment system alliance , the chances of US getting NFC versions are not extremely low

I don't see NFC being that important to me right away. I am guessing by the time it becomes important to me, I will already be looking at another phone.
Also, even though the UK might not be getting the NFC version, you probably will still be able to buy a NFC version unlocked from another country.
Hate to say it... but until the iPhone gets NFC it's not worth worrying about.
Devices still need to be upgraded in stores, airlines, and what not to accept NFC no? The above poster is probably correct, the phones are going to need to be widely available before companies spend the money to upgrade their equipment.

Those who pre-register will be among the first to know about the availability and get pre-order information for the new Galaxy Note 4, which will be available in T-Mobile stores in October, and the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, which will arrive at T-Mobile later this fall.
Really debating if I should upgrade from my Note 3. I have one more JUMP until April *the old JUMP where you upgrade twice a year*. I would like to see the Note 4 in person before deciding.
it'll probably be on the 9th, but in October...
It would be nice if it is the 9th of this month.

Yeah most likely the 9th of October. The T-Mobile Uncarrier 7.0 event is the 10th of September so I doubt they would release it before that.
Or would they? Nah

Samsung specifically said October. I really don't understand these rumors ppl come up with. I didn't hear Samsung say "with the exception of T- mobile USA it will be September"!!!!
He might be confusing the fact that T-Mobile will allow the public to view the Note 4 at specific locations. September 9th being one of those dates.
Really stupid question
Ok so we that have the Note 3 being the hlte...mine being hltetmo or sm-n900t can anyone tell me what the t-mobile Note4 will be in regards to model? I'm pretty sure the model # will be sm-n910t but what will be the codename? I'm bored and trying to do some build prop stuff to make my my Note3 think it's a Note4. .yea I'm bored.lol changed to n910t already but need the codename like hlte.

The Note 4 is not making it to a September release. As I posted above directly from T-Mobile, the Note 4 will be out in October.
If I'm not mistaken it hasn't even past FCC stages. No way in heck its 9/9...that would have been WAY too smart and strategic of Samsung.

I could care less about lollipop honestly. My Note 4 is butter.
Doesn't anyone read anymore? By that I mean the history of US carrier updates vs. international updates. We go through this EVERY OS upgrade. International phones are unlocked with no carrier bloat or needed approvals. Samsung can push the OS updates right to them or through Kies. The US Carriers receive the proposed update from Samsung, it then gets a pile of bloat that the carrier wants added to it, it goes back to Samsung for that and Samsung testing, then sent to the US Carrier for testing....IF...IF all is well, then the carrier then decides when is the best time to push out the update...maybe it is strategically approximated just AFTER a new phone comes out hoping people will rush to get the new device already updated....maybe it would be a slow period when they know they can dedicate their customer service to anyone out there having problems with the OTA...bottom line is it takes quite some time after the international phones get their update before any US Carrier sees it. And luckily for you guys it is usually Sprint and T-Mobile that stay ahead of that curve...my guess is the locked bootloaders and security on the other 2 carriers slows them down.
I Think you know already that no one reads anymore!
I doubt anyone reads anymore lol , its the same drill year in year out .

the latest flavor of Google's mobile operating system is now available for the GS5 in Poland, blog site SamMobile said Wednesday. Poland has been used by mobile device makers as a starting point to test out new Android updates before it spreads around the world. As such, the Polish launch is a good sign that Lollipop should soon start to pop up in other regions.
The Polish version of the Galaxy S5 has the same model number as the version used in Europe, according to blog site SlashGear, which means European users could be next on the list. Samsung is also likely to launch Android 5.0 in its home base of South Korea at some point in the near future.
A similar scenario has played out with LG's G3 smartphone. Owners of the phone residing in Poland were first on the list to receive a bite of Lollipop. Just a couple of weeks later, G3 owners in South Korea started seeing the update appear on their devices. Android 5.0 could reach GS5 owners in other regions before the month and year are over.
The US is a different story, however. Android updates in the US can take awhile as they have to be tested by not only the device makers but also the mobile carriers who must also certify and plan the rollout. As such, Galaxy S5 owners in the US are unlikely to get a lick of Lollipop until 2015.

You have to Remember these phone are built internationally thus why these rather release then overseas before they release then in the USA . Yes. Sprint got it a month ago.
I was thinking that it was taking abnormally long too, but since AT&T and T-Mo haven't gotten it yet, it makes me wonder. Especially since part of T Mobile's Note 4s have it and the others don't. (The ones with a different model number have them, but the original model numbers don't.)
Perhaps they are fine tuning stuff for the Qualcomm models and used Sprint as a guinea pig since Sprint barely has any subscribers anymore, it probably makes a great lab rat!

I don't think so! I believe that we won't get 6.0 update in 2015. It's most likely that US carriers (VZW, ATT, TMB, and USC) will follow the international variants and push 5.1.1 update in 2015 (probably, it's due in October) and wait too long for the next big thing (M) sometime in 2016, after releasing it for the 2015 flagships (S6 and its family) in the next few months. However, I hope you're right.
Verizon always seems to be last and not fair to the older phones in the cue. To me we paid out our cash way before the S6 owners , no offense. I think the S4 will be the cut off so, why not be fair and start from that. Verizon, at least on the phone and in the stores, always bring up loyalty, show it!
But I wonder if it has anything to do that Verizon is a CDMA system

Leaks seem to be a thing of the past...rarely see them anymore. The 2 new nexus devices won't ship for another 3-4 weeks and that is more or less the official unveiling of 6.0, even though other Nexus devices are getting updates starting now. Then about a month after that you will see other devices getting updated. Samsung has to incorporate TW, HTC has to incorporate Sense 7, LG - LG Home, so those will take a little longer.
