Hi,
Has anybody attempted to use lastpass security with the fingerprint scanner? It is in the options however grayed out woth "device not supported". Is this just a matter of waiting for Lastpass to update to allow the device, or is there a reason why it should be incompatible?
Many thanks
Daniel
Hi, I've attempted this too but get the same issue. It might be worth letting Lastpass know, that's what I am going to do anyway.
From lastpass forum
Sorry, OnePlus has not provided a public SDK for their fingerprint sensor, so we can't support it at this time. Hopefully this will take care of itself at some point, when they rebase Oxygen OS on Android 6.0, since we support the fingerprint API in the latter.

Hello,
So far only Sense ROM does support proper Exchange security.
So i was wondering if any other ROMS has support for it?
i am tired to try each ROM one by one.
Please, if you do not know what you are talking about, do not reply thank you!
Since Android 1.0, Exchange security has never ever been supported, juts basic stuffs, preventing any Enterprise customer using Exchange email on Android.
Thanks
Best
Dico
It depends on which specific Exchange security features you refer to. CM7 supports some but not all of them. The most used ones are supported though, such as settings password rules, remote wipe, monitoring of unlock attempts, locking the screen. Those are the ones my work specify at least and they do work. It does however not support encryption of the storage until Honeycomb (ie. ICS if talking about phones).

well i would have to disagree here but i am not here to start a conflict just to find the best ROM for me. right now only sense allows PIN code as password and timeout and number of retry... This sounds so simple as it can't be true... but it is. CM7 does not work either for me...i triedSamsung GTAB as well, same issue.
i found a email.apk that suppress security that i will try and will let you know.
FYI Iphone works perfectly here and they struggled the same way on the first iphone, but they corrected it very fast...
Hopefully google would do the same but nothing has happen yet.
Thanks for the reply

Did the email.apk suppressed the security? I could not find one for CM, let me know if you have one which is working.
Thanks
Hey guys. I recently flashed the new marshmallow 6 and gapps to my device. Sm-g900t. FInger print options do not seem to appear on my device at all. I thought it may be a hidden avenue I would have to approach. But after trying to download several new apps that are finger print compatible. I was not allowed. The app stated my phone is not finger print compatible. I wipe and reflashed several times. Nothing seems to work for me. I did some google snooping. Few terms came up.
Source code and kernel.
I couldnt find any downloadable files to experiment with. It's been a week or so and I have no clue.
Did I do something wrong or is the code not written in the new rom. I'd like my scanner back working with the marshmallow 6 on my s5. Is it possible?

No, the fingerprint driver is TW only and chances are never will be on aosp/cm-based roms.
When xposed will be working for android 7.0?
Sadly there is no time frame as to when it will be released. I too am waiting for Xposed for Nougat but in the meantime i can wait.
lets just wait it out, i will defintely need xposed for Nougat, because there is one module which is a must for me.
it is called 'lockscreen disabler' and what it does is, it bypasses the annoying pin code requirement upon reboot when you have fingerprint set.
so it is an amazing module for me, because it never ever will lock the screen ,literally disables lockscreen so whenever you unlock your phone the screen pops on quick just like having no lockscreen set even though you have it set because of the fingerprint feature.
i love to unlock my phone with the fingerprint reader.
hopefully xposed will be compatible eventually.
I've been waiting for Xposed sine DP3 came out, how long does it usually take for a new Xposed version to be made?
Are the developers even working on a nougat version? Not asking for ETA. Just would be nice to know if it's in the works.
Rovo is actively working on it. Be patient, it was months after MM came out that Xposed was released for it. It will be the same for N most likely
From what I heard we wont get it till after 7.1 is released (probably WELL after.) Hes supposed to be pushing out xposed for systemless root first then working on nougat. So theres no timetable but Id be really surprised if it comes by the end of 2016 (hope Im wrong).
Im happy with MM. With android n-ify Ive got the look of Nougat and it now allows Google Assistant to be installed. It doesn't seem like Im missing out on much & I dont need to give up the xposed mods Ive started to take for granted.

If you are looking for a temporary solution, and like me mostly use Gravitybox tweaks, SAOSP is a very good mostly stock ROM.

it is an amazing module for me because it kills the lockscreens, i love having my phone ready all the time ,dislike the pattern/pin usage evrytime i unlock the phone, and i use the fingerprint reader function which requires a lockscreen, and this module works nicely with it.
when you downloaded it go to the app interface and top option says 'lockscreen type' choose no lockscreen < this kills lockscreen.
lockscreen type - no lockscreen

Does anybody know how apps that use your fingerprint to login will be dealing with the situation that there is no longer a fingerprint reader on the pixel?
Thanks
Nick
Face unlock.
Hi @sic0048,
Thanks for your answer. This is exactly what I presumed. I was wondering if any apps which are now using fingerprints for logging in, will work straight out of the box. Or will the app developers have to program in support for face unlock. In other words will for example banking apps work directly after the pixel4 is released or will one have to wait till these apps (and it is quite a few) are updated.
bye
nick
I'm not a developer, but my guess is that the unlocking is always handled by the phone, regardless of method. The app is told when it is unlocked, not how. So I suspect it will work out of the box.

The API will probably be a generic biometric check which could be fingerprint, face, voice or whatever. It would be over complicated to specify a particular type, rather that the secure service in Android trusts the process used. There is a section in security for trusted services
An exposed mod allows you to trick all apps into using face unlock. If your OK with rooting your phone then the problem is solved.

i have a number of apps that unlock with a fingerprint. are these not going to work on the P4?
I think they will ask for face unlock. And maybe you need to touch some button on the display to "start scanning the face" (and this should take 1/3 of a second) and not accidently authorise a purchasing without additional manual action.
As for the apps, they should automatically adapt to this. I don't think is something a dev need to do (unlike the stupid Pixel Visual Core which, afaik, is something devs need to manually add support, and that's horrible implementation for Pixel users).

We'll have an article on the Portal explaining this situation soon.
The apps use a biometric security API, they do not know that a fingerprint reader or face Id was used. It's a trusted service that negotiates and approves a security test. The Android OS provides the security authentication not the app
I'm also pretty curious about this. I had set up most accounts to use long crazy passwords Google suggested becuase I didn't need to know them for my fingerprint scanner to work.
Actually I have a few apps that use fingerprint to unlock and now with the pixel 4 they won't work. 2 bank apps and a password manager. When I open them the fingerprint option doesn't even come up. I have to use a password.

That's exactly how I thought it would work. Apparently this is not the case.
All of my bank applications switch to pin code verify, or password depending on the apps capabilities.
If there was an api (didn't check) then either the app devs decided not to use it properly or just plain hacked the bio Auth directly somehow.

....well at least Google Pay works with FaceID!
