Note10.1 JB leak 5-layouts multiwindow interface [Confirmed Working]

Hi Folks,
MOD for JB 4.1.1
I made this experiment to have the multiwindow interface from Note10.1 JB leak for my N7000 and by luck and a bit of guts, it worked and it looks awesome on my note1. I was just wondering if it could work on note2 using the same idea that I discuss on my thread. I don't have a note2 so I can not test it but I wanted to share the idea in your forum thinking maybe somebody might have the guts to try and explore. It's a learning process for me. I'm sure there are among you who are on the same learning process.
I think the N7100 already have all the necessary lib files for Note10.1-style multiwindow interface. All you need is to copy the missing permission files from the Note10.1 and find a suitable systemui. With the note1, the missing permission files are com.sec.feature.minimode_tray and com.sec.feature.multiwindow.tablet in the /system/etc/permissions folder. I also enabled the nav bar to access the miniapp drawer by editing build.prop and adding qemu.hw.mainkeys with value 0 and change the ro.sf.lcd_density to 213. With the note1, the suitable dpi was between 200 to 213. Then I copied the systemui,apk and seclauncher2.apk from the Galaxy Tab 2 7" and overwrite the ones on my note1 in /system/app folder. Of course, whenever you copy or change files in the /system folder you need to set the right file permissions, normally -rw-r--r--. With the N7100, you need to find the right dpi, you can try 200, maybe less, maybe more. You need to be on a rooted deodex rom and make a nandroid backup before you do this and install another launcher like apex or nova in case the systemui or tw launcer forecloses so that you can be able to change the dpi to another value until you find the sweet spot. When it finally booted without systemui error, I know it finally worked. After that, all I did was swap the apps from the TAB 2 7" and Note10.1 to my note1 one at a time to see which works on my note1, some works, some don't and found modded apps on this thread most of which works on my note1. That's it fellows. Take a leap.
Attached are the files I have used for my mod on note1 and I believe it would also work on note2 by using a dpi of 192. It is not a CWM flashable file. You will need to extract the file and manually copy to specified directory as described here or according to the folder structure of the extracted zip file.
Procedure:
1. Requirement: N7100 Jelly Bean 4.1.1 rooted and deodexed with unlimited apps multiwindow mod installed. Please make a nandroid backup first so you can return to your previous state in case you need/want to.
2. Install another launcher like Apex or Nova as a failsafe in case TW Launcher forecloses.
3. Install another keyboard and enable it in Settings in case the stock keyboard does not work at 192 dpi.
4. Download SystemUI.apk, SecLauncher2.apk and SecBrowser.apk and copy to /system/app folder overwriting the stock files using Solid Explorer/Root Explorer or any file manager that has root access and set file permission property to -rw-r-r (644).
5. Download permissions.zip below, extract and copy just the contents to /system/etc/permissions folder and set file permission property to -rw-r-r (644).
6. Install build prop editor from the Play Store. Run Build Prop Editor and change ro.sf.lcd.density to 192.
Then add new property: qemu.hw.mainkeys with value 0.
7. Reboot phone and explore. The tray bar at the bottom controls the window layout so if the current layout is not dual-mode then using the flashbar panel to open apps in multiview (that is dual-mode) would not work. It takes a while getting familiar with the interface so take your time.
8. Download modded apps from the Note10.1 forum or maybe mod your own using the guide located in the same thread. You can also use the modded 240 dpi apps as alternatives or import the stock apps from TAB 2 7" and Note10.1 and see which one works.
As always, I am not responsible if you brick your phone. Do it at your own risk.
UPDATE:
So one member - f3w1n - has confirmed he was able to make the mod work on his note2 using 192 dpi and is in the process of exploring the apps that would work from the note10.1 on his note2. See post #10.
MOD for JB 4.1.2
The difference between this mod and the 4.1.1 is that there is no longer a tray/nav bar and that there is only one window layout, that is floating, movable, resizable windows, fullscreen and back and forth, and that there is no need to modify the manifest files of apps just like they do in Note10.1 to work on multiview because almost all apps can be resized but not all apps are supposed to look nice and work on window mode. Some apps are not intended by their developers to work and look good on window mode. The flashbar panel no longer works as I said earlier because there is only one window layout - floating windows. The mod is already working for me in the N7000 on this thread .
1. Requirements: N7100 phone with rooted deodex JB 4.1.2 with unlimited multiwindows mod installed. You can use most custom 4.1.2 roms which already have the unlimited apps multiwindow mod built in. Make a nandroid backup to be safe and backup your apps and data with Titanium Backup/Ultimate Backup,etc.
2. Install an alternative launcher like Apex, Nova, ADW or whatever that supports multidpi just in case stock launcher forecloses. Install another keyboard and enable it in Settings in case the stock keyboard does not work at 192 dpi.
3. Install build prop editor from the play store and edit ro.sf.lcd_density = 192.
4. Download the permission.zip file below and extract it. Copy just one file: com.sec.feature.multiwindow.tablet.xml and place it in /system/etc/permissions folder with -rw-r-r (644) permission using Solid Explorer/Root Explorer/Root Browser Lite/Es Explorer. This is the file that makes it all work. Then delete the file com.sec.feature.multiwindow.phone.xml or just rename it to something else.
5. Download the SecLauncher2.apk below which I took from the TAB 2 7" as the stock launcher is not suited for this mod. Make a backup of the stock launcher. Now copy the SecLauncher2.apk to the /system/app folder with -rw-r-r (644) permission.
6. Download the SecBrowser.apk which I took from the Note10.1 as the stock browser won't run on this mod. Make a backup of the stock browser. Now copy SecBrowser.apk to the /system/app folder with -rw-r-r (644) permission.
7. Reboot your phone and explore - open apps, resize them, move them, open multiple apps, and so forth. Let the rom settle for a while as it builds the cache before it resumes the roms usual speed. As in 4.1.1 mod, you can use apps from TAB2 7" and Note10.1 as well as the modded 240 dpi apps in N7100 forum.

Oh this is friggin' SWEET!!! Man I hope you can get this working on the Note 2 soon. I think it would be especially useful on a much larger screen, like via HDMI on a docking station or something. Hope you can get this to work in TW as well.

Does it affect battery life?
If it needs root that will be the reason for me to try rooting my Note 2

You have to overwrite the apps that you have attached in the OP, change the lcd density in build.prop to a maximun of 192 (a bit small but its ok) and ad this in the build.prop aswell: qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
So far all is working excenp samsung keyboard and some apps look strange (should be fixed using the note 10.1 ones. Also i think that there is a post with resaizable stock note 2 apps)
When i have time im going to download the jb leak of the note 10.1 and try some apps

This is my first post in s3 section. I made a guide on how to setup 240 dpi on note 2 and I thought it would be a great idea since the requisites are available for both the phones.

But what is dpi ?
It is the value that manages most ui of the system. a lower dpi means everything would be smaller hence more things could be fitted in the giant screen we have. a higher means everything would be larger hence less could be fitted into the screen
Before We Begin I Want To Clarify The Following-

So let's Begin-
1)Download and setup xposed framework (Very good instructions on how to do it in the thread) (You need to reboot).
2)Download these modules - xposed app settings , gappscrashfix , all apps in play store.
3)Enable all the 3 modules (You need to Reboot).
4)Now open xposed app settings and set open each app listed below and in dpi enter 320 but don't change anything else.
-calculator
-camera
-clock
-contacts
-dialer storage
-fm radio
-messaging
-task manager
-touchwiz home
-weather widget main
Now some of these could be skipped or some could be added(can be tested but imao that will make the ui ugly but still it's completely your choice).
Also modded versions of some of these apps has been provided by bala_gamer.
5)Before we begin copy the modded samsung keyboard from the link given or setup some other keyboard and make it default.
6)Now open /system/build.prop or use a build.prop editor if you are very conscious and change the following line "ro.sf.lcd_density=320" to "ro.sf.lcd_density=240"
7)Now before we reboot we need to include apply one fix , so instead of rebooting , power off your phone
8)Then go into recovery and flash the modded samsung keyboard.
9)Reboot and enjoy 240dpi.
Note -
1)The stock keyboard will constantly force close on 240 dpi (if you use xposed settings to set it to 320dpi, you will be practically unable to use it), so bala_gamer(thank him) has customized it to work properly on 240 dpi.
2)Recovery must be custom (ofcourse ).
3)Be sure to flash the correct version of modded apps (i.e. 4.1.1 if you have it or 4.1.2 if you have that)
4)I don't know if gappscrashfix and allappsinplaystore are actually required but nothing bad in using it.
5)I know the explanation of dpi is incorrect but that's all you need to know.
6)Installing xposed framework doesn't affect simplistic framework at all.
7)The gappscrashfix and allappsinplaystore you download would be in .zip format. Just rename them to .apk and you can install it then.
8)Many apps especially the system ones or samsung ones aren't ment to scale well. They are just meant to look good at 320dpi so they will look way ugly at 240dpi. To fix this xposed settings is used. You need to set it for each app that you think is ugly.

That just modifies the DPI in build.prop. It does not make apps scale selectively. If I'm not mistaken, the Xposed FW is like what Paranoid Android has with its Hybrid engine, where you can selectively scale apps.

Xposed - modules and Xposed theme engine

I have confirmed that Xposed is in fact working for the Samsung galaxy tab 3 7 inch. Other please confirm the 8 inch and 10.1. I am going to post a link to my collection of modules and themes. I will try and keep this as up to date as I can. Cool thing is even some of the themes are working. Just download and install the Xposed theme engine then install the themes. All credit goes to the developers and themes as well as the porters. All apps in the folder are free and can be found around XDA.
I would also like if you guys find some not included here to post a link to that thread. This will be like the Xposed app/module/theme thread. One stop shop to get all things Xposed. Also my folder is used by other devices so not all will work.
I am at work and doing this on my phone. So bear with me. Institutions and screen shots to come tonight.
How to install Xposed:
Download and install installer apk
allow root and hit the button to install frameworks
click on the modules tab and turn on the modules you have installed
reboot
enjoy
Now the installer is where you turn modules on and off. So after you install a Xposed module go into the installer and turn it on then reboot.

I have never used Xposed themes or modules, but this looks like a much simpler way of themeing. Thank you for the thread. I will probably dive into this soon.

This is awesome... Tried to apply the multiwindow one but failed miserably at even knowing where to find the setting/toggle... Am i dumb or its not working ?

after installing xposed app i tapped install/update and soft reboot ! but now m stuck on samsung logo
i need reply fast because its not my tab n m afraid that i will need to flash the stock rom

Not sure why you are in a boot loop. I had zero issues with xposed on the device. The app places a flash able zip on your SDcard to remove the frameworks that you just have to flash through recovery for issues like this

Finally I root SM-T211 (without Odin as mentioned in General section) and enjoying Xposed. Managed to make Facebook font bigger, and Flipboard in PhoneUI with App Setting. I was trying to change Contacts, SMS and Setting to be in PhoneUI without success. Any clue?

Not without a log. Might be a known issue for that xposed module. Have you checked in the thread for it?

My purpose behind this ROM was to help those who think free RAM is not enough, this ROM usually gives 500+ free RAM after you clear all recent app and it gives 650+ free RAM on boot, see screenshots at the end of this post, EPIC ROM uses better Kernel to improve RAM management, there are no useless tweaks done by me, you can do that after flashing

Maybe because it's new kernel and I have added "pm.sleep_mode=1" in build.prop

I installed this rom and this is really fast. Excellent stock rom. As op said, in this rom more free RAM is there. Great work. I played Real Racing 3, its working fine.
Bugs I found : Front camera swap button is greyed out, I don't know why. Please look into this.

Restarted, no luck . Should I flash rom once again?

-BUGS-
Weather force close at rom setup. To avoid just uncheck "Agree All" then select disagree to use device location. Once rom boots to home,pull down notification panel and turn on location and agree to high accuracy use. Now click weather widget on home screen and agree to use location. Weather will now work fine.

- ROM INSTALL-
This rom is for Virgin Mobile J327PVPU1AQF4 firmware devices only. You can check your firnware in Settings,About Phone if you are unsure. I offer no support to those running any firmware above J327PVPU1AQF4. Nor any support to any carrier other than Virgin Mobile USA users.
Okay now that that is out of the way...
1. Download rom and move it to external storage.
2. Reboot to TWRP Recovery.
3. Make any rom backup you feel you need to.
4. FIRST... Format Data and reboot recovery.
5.After reboot of recovery..Wipe Dalvik and Art Cache,Wipe System,Wipe Data,Wipe Cache and Internal Storage unless you have things stored there you want to save,it's not a must to wipe internal storage.
6. Flash rom.
7. Reboot.
First boot takes a few minutes.
-DOWNLOADS-
No Open Google Apps Needed...Updated pack in rom. Delete them if you don't use Google services. Be sure to LEAVE Webview and GooglePackageInstaller. Needed apps.

I have a small update coming which incorperates all of the s8 nougat icons for systemui. But want to hold off posting it until I sort out adding edge support. Also what I hope is a full weather fix. You will notice the launcher lags when changing rows/columns for the app drawer. Just swipe from right edge to center and change will take effect.

Hello,if you dont care about credits and have the files ready,can you send me the UI with nougat icons and symbols in sb so i can port/mod to make it work on our DUX ROM for J320F?

Use what you wish. But I will leave the foot work to you. Its not difficult to extract needed items from the system.

Ah ok.You already implemented new UI to ROM..sry,didnt know that

hopefully will post updated rom with all bugs gone plus the new system ui changes by tomorrow afternoon.

WiFi works fine for me. I'm going to upload version 2 with fixes for gallery crash,calendar crash along with new ui and weather app. I have not modified WiFi related apps at all. Are you sure you were on J327PVPU1AQF4 rom build and not a lower or higher version?

I think I have a good idea why Wifi isnt working. The magisk built boot kernel. Magisk has proven to be more of a problem than a benefit. Update will not include magisk.

Rom updated with dream UX SystemUI,settings framework icons,etc..removed magisk. Causing more problems than its worth. Only bugs left are some lag in how Launcher readings icons after picking grid sizes for apps screen. A quick swipe from right edge to the left takes care of it. And weather bug.

New rom on the way. HTC Flashback Rom. Check screens below. I will be decompiling the HTC apps to resemble old school sense to match the Samsung theme being used. As of now the rom runs with NO app bugs. All but Samsung contacts,messaging,and main settings/systemui have been replaced. Will post. She's sense in every way except core touchwiz.

Sure.
Only UI difference really is subtle icon changes in systemui and settings apk made by Samsung. Nothing to write home about

I dont know why,i also replaced icons on my UI but then it keeps crashing...

When replacing the icons be sure only to include those that match those in your roms systemui and settings2 apk files. If only one qmg,spr,etc is in the apk that does not belong there,it will either give a parsing error,not even show in app,drawer or installed apps,or force close
Do not replace any of the xml files. Luckily for our device these two apks can be extracted like a zip,modify the icons then recipe,rename apk. Others need decompiling and recompiling or you'll get the errors above. Your device files may or may not extract the same as ours do.
