Hello All:
I have not been able to find a similar thread, and I apologize if there is one somewhere. I cannot find any guidance on this issue anywhere else online.
S Note, among other apps, provides a default template size that is simply too large for me to write meaningful notes. One sentence seems to take a half a page, regardless of how small I make the text or the pen stroke size. My device is rooted, running Lollipop 5.0.1.
Here is my question: Is it possible to add more space to the default template on the S Note pages? I want to be able to write more on one screen. I simply cannot write any smaller than I am at any reasonable speed. Please offer any tips / advice, as even if your suggestions do not directly answer my issue, I may find the information useful. I have edited the default font / screen size / item size / menu size on everything I can to add more space to my phone's screen in its settings.

i'm very happy with the Touch Dual. the only annoying thing is, the speed of scrolling down along a web page in IE -- the nearer to the bottom of the page, the lower scrolling speed.... and finally, so slow that i must give up reading the rest of the page.
after some experiment, i noticed that increasing IE Read Buffer using Memmaid system tweak can mitigate the problem. would like to seek some advices from you:
1. any corresponding registry key corresponding to this, so that not a must to use Memmaid?
2. any recommended size for it?
thanks.
(just pump it up)
I want to change the font size of short message. Which item shall i modify in register? Thanks
Settings -> System Tab -> Screen -> Text Size tab
Move the slider towards largest.
Going Blind With Small Font On Caller Id 8525
I KNOW there are NUMEROUS 8525 users out there who find it difficult (really difficult in the case of my wife and I) to read the incoming caller ID name and number. The existing font option does not affect the phone. Has anyone been able to come up with a way to make these fonts (and those in some other areas of the phone) easier to see? I would PAY for a fix to this. (t's so bad that my wife is already checking out the Blackberry 8310.)
Thanks.
Having the same problem...
I was really hoping someone would have a solution to this problem, by now...

Hi all,
I'm not sure what its called, but you know the context menus that come up basically whenever you hold your pointer over something for a while? It annoys me with the size they are in wm6.5. I love the speed of wm6.5 (tried both xplode's r7 (about to install 7.1...) and swampy's rls) but it really annoys me that they've made everything so big. Seems to take twice as long to do simple things now because now you have to scroll down menus to find what you're looking for. Is there anyway to bring this back to the good old "classic" sizes? I can't seem to find an option anywhere... and I realise loading a skinning app is just going to slow the OS down making the whole upgrade to 6.5 kinda pointless.
Also, does anyone know a way to speed up the actual time taken to register a tap and hold command? So that we don't have to spend as long to bring up the context menus?
Thanks in advance~

that's a lot of questions. let me start with saying that i can not guarantee you, that the reg tweaks work. i found them for different devices and checked both my devices and didn't have the reg keys in there. so i don't knoiw if it helps you. Maybe, if i find out more, i'll post it later:
1. The size of the context and softkey menus:
a. the easiest way to influence the size and look of those menus would be, installing another theme. not just the color will change, but also the entire looks, so if you have a .tsk theme, copy it to the device and activate it, you will see it changed.
b. regitry tweak:
HKLM\System\GWE\Menu\Popfnt\
there should be two dword values that you can change to whatever you like.
ht=height is default set to 1000
wt=width is default set to 700
2. a skinning app is gonna slow down the os
- true, with wm6.5 there is really no need for anything else to make the graphics any nicer
3. tap and hold time:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Desktop\MenuShowDelay
right-click, select properties, and enter a value from zero to 999 milliseconds
if that value, does not exist, create it (string value)
if those values didn't work, you should try out advanced config, which can be downloaded here: http://www.pocketpc.ch/news/42529-freeware-advanced-config-3-0-a.html
there you have more than 200 tweaks for the os and don't need to search the registry for any values.
first off, a big thank you for the speediness of your reply.
i tried out the other tsk files i have... but unfortunately i don't have any older ones from wm5/6, only the newer 6.5 ones. they didn't seem to make much difference in size of anything... only the actual colour/font schemes. if you have any older tsk files that you wouldn't mind uploading, that'd be much appreciated as something to try.
the softkeys aren't so much an issue - i've got wisbar to disable them (yes yes, i know wisbar is a skinning app... but i prefer a nice cascading start menu to something i need to fumble through to find stuff any day) - its more the context menus that are annoying me.
the registry edit is interesting. changing the height and width actually also changes the zoom on the font size... i'm not sure how this is being calculated, but the font is clearly getting smaller the smaller you set the dimensions. it seems like its taking a predefined box with the text designed to take up a predefined percentage of it and then letting you put in the dimensions of the box... basically so that no matter what numbers you plug in, you'll always have the rather annoying amount of space being wasted between items in the context menus. though all that said and done, 750 for height and 350 for width are far more workable than the previous settings. more than legible too imo~
the tap and hold time tweak worked wonderfully
thanks again~
Tap and Hold time delay Setting
I found your post ref to Tap and Hold delays. I tried this Tap and Hold setting you said worked on your phone (see below) I tried it as shown below on a HTC wm 6.5 HTC pure(diamond2), and did not see a change, were you able to shorten the delay? Is that done with a String? or Dword?
3. tap and hold time:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Desktop\MenuShowDelay
right-click, select properties, and enter a value from zero to 999 milliseconds
if that value, does not exist, create it (string value).
I have spent hours searching the registry for a solution
it was a dword iirc... tbh, this hasn't been so much of an issue for me with the newer releases so i haven't bothered so much.

If you still need themes for wm6.1, try http://www.wm6themes.com/
I use one from that site on my BA, but since i don't have wm6.5 installed right now, i can't tell you whether it'll help in your situation or not.
Is it possible to have bigger fonts size to read SMS in the Sense (I know how to make it in windows mode). Any cab or registry mod? Thank in advance.
Went searching the registry and found an obvious entry. Changed the default setting of 2 to 5, soft reset and I no longer have to squint my eyes !
HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCMessaging\Fonts\FontScale
A word of caution to those with huge amount of sms. I suspect it may cause lagging with the increased font size.
Open a SMS, menu -> font size?
Dear Note 3 fans,
I have been fighting for almost a month with my new Note 3. I have tried an overwhelming amount of ROMs, but the ROM of artas182 is the only one, where it worked. I have posted a lot of questions and I have been sending a lot of PMs to developers. Unfortunately, nobody gave me an answer, nobody has provided help.
Hence I have no other choice, but to use this ROM. It is stable, but there are a lot of
glitches and a lot of inconvenience. At the price of many sleepless nights, I have finally managed to solve almost all of them and I have decided to publish a little guide, with the hopevthat it might be helpful to somebody:
Problem 1: SD card is not being seen from a PC, when the phone is connected to USB.
Solution 1: well, I still didn't find a real solution for this. But there is a nice workaround - use TWRP 3.0.2-1. When it's necessary to copy files to the SD card, boot into recovery - now the SD card is visible from the PC. I know it's cumbersome and it's
far from perfect, but it's way better than opening the phone, taking the SD card out or copying stuff to the internal memory and moving it then to the SD card
Problem 2: Everything looks huge. TouchWizHome is not looking nice with a grid of 4x5 on a 5.7" display !!
Solution 2: Install an app, called DPI changer and set a more appropriate value for DPI.
As far as I know, 420 is a standard, I have although set it to 400, because I desperately
needed to get things smaller. Now we've solved one issue, but caused several other glitches, which I will describe here.
Glitch A: The grid is still 4x5. There is a huge wasted space around the icons.
Solution A: I tried to put a lot of modded TouchWizHome.apk files and replace the original one, but no matter what I tried, I was always getting an error message "Unfortunately TouchWizHome has stopped". Hence the solution is to install another launcher. S Launcher is the closest to TouchWiz. But I decided to use Next Launcher, as it provides a really different looks to the phone and I like all those 3D effects (they remind me a little bit on the Linux Compiz). Now I have a 5x5 grid. Beautiful!
Glitch B: The dialer seems to be with hardcoded DPI. The buttons only cover part of the screen and they leave an unsymmetrical white space on the screen - UGLY!
Solution B: Install Zero Dialer. Set it as the default dialer (Settings / Default applications) and then go to Settings / Application manager and disable the original phone app.
Glitch C: The camera app is also with hardcoded DPI settings. It looks ridiculously small on the gorgeous 5.7" screen and leaves a lot of black space around the app. Worse, touching the buttons doesn't work. One has to kinda tap next to a button, in order to hit it. Terrible !!
Solution C: Install another camera app. I personally like Camera zoom FX. This causes glitch D.
Glitch D: It's not possible to set which camera app is being invoked from the shortcut on the lock screen.
Solution D: Download BlackRose ROM (BlackRose_Marshmallow_Note5_NewUx_v1_Light.zip). Open the zip file and go to
System\priv-app\SamsungCamera5 and extract SamsungCamera5.apk from there. On the phone, open Root Explorer and go to /system/priv-app/SamsungCamera3 and copy SamsungCamera5.apk there. Rename SamsungCamera3.apk to SamsungCamera3.apk.bak. Rename SamsungCamera5.apk to SamsungCamera3.apk.
Set the permissions to 644. Go to /data/dalvik-cache, scroll to the end of the list, and going from the bottom, look for a file, containing the name SamsungCamera3. Delete it and restart the phone. Now we've successfully replaced the stock camera with an app with better resolution. Now it only leaves a small black strap at the bottom of the screen. The buttons are working fine now!
Problem 3: When you long-press the power button, the 3 icons for setting the phone to mute, vibration and sound are missing.
Solution 3: Unfortunately, I still don't have a solution for this one! I would be very very
thankful, if somebody would advise how this can be solved. Maybe it's possible to replace the whole power menu ? I have tried Lockscreen vibrate widget, but I didn't find a way to make it show up on the lock screen
Problem 4: The alarm does not produce ANY SOUNDS at times. It might be related to charging.
Solution 4: Install and use Timely
@artas182x - MANY MANY THANKS for providing the only custom ROM with working encryption. I hope that you will not be angry about this post, on the contrary, you would hopefully embrace it as a contribution for establishing the leading posistion of your ROM
