Sprint Nexus 6 receiving build LMY48I - Nexus 6 General

http://www.androidcentral.com/nexus-5-and-nexus-6-receiving-build-lmy48i-stagefright-fixes-tow
According to Sprint, the Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 should be receiving build LMY48I beginning today, with security fixes for the Stagefright exploit in tow. Being as there is no specific SKU for Sprint on either of these phones, the update should apply to all Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 models.
While carrier documents are not always the most accurate source of information, it isn't too far fetched that Google would be pushing an update this quickly. Google has yet to post the new images, so be sure to keep an eye on your phone for the update. If you have already received the update, be sure to let us know in the comments below.

In another thread the update is posted.

OTA

Will the Nexus 7 get any more OTA from Google? I read that google only updates devices for 18 month and no longer. I don't know how long ago they released nexus 7. I hope CM and others will keep bringing updates that google will no longer bring to us. it'll be a while before i can upgrade to the newer device. I'm trying to wait for the updated nexus 10 if it will ever be released.

Nexus devices always have up to date custom roms....long after official updates end.

MTC19V update is live for Sprint !!

Sprint has confirmed released of build MTC19V for its Nexus 5X.
Changelog says "Scope limited to Android Partner Bulletin published 05/02/16 for June 6 release."
You know where to look for the system update, right?

Doesn't Google push the OTA to every device, regardless of carrier? I know the factory images are universal, just like the OTAs on Google's factory image resource.

Hmm, so partners get bulletin a full month in advance? I wonder if that includes the source or that comes after the bulletin.
If they have a month head start (not Nexus, which Google releases, I mean LG or Samsung branded), most of these guys should be able to get stuff out before Google assuming they have things streamlined.

Quick question about the security update

I have now run across several 6p users who are part of the Android beta program who have not received the OTA security patch for September. I'm curious if this is just random or if there is a trend to be found here. So, if you are on the developer preview program, have you received your security patch yet?

Seriously? First, Nougat OTA was only released a couple weeks ago, so I'd expect the earliest security patch to be October. Second, since there is all kinds of speculation about the full Nougat factory image not being released (hardware, software, something special when Google makes their Pixel announcement), they aren't going to get multiple OTA security releases ahead on their flagship device, for which they haven't even put out a full factory image yet.
It's a simple question, the September security patch did go live 2 days ago, so it is not a question of if it coming, it is a specific question about 6p users on the developer preview program. Not even a serious one, I'm just curious.
No update here

Now that 6P has been EOLed till when can we expect updates?

Google has removed 6P and 5X from its store.
I suppose this signal a specific clock that starts ticking now.
What's the official policy?
By the way, I read that 7.1 won't come as final version till next year. So much for speedy updates Google. Way to betray customers trust.
Simple search would give you this on EOL.
www.xda-developers.com/google-publishes-end-of-life-for-nexus-devices
So Security updates till September 2018 and major releases till September 2017.
I guess 7.1 will be the end of it.
Actually no. O will be the final Android OS update officially from Google. You will need to rely on the community starting from P.
XDA will save the Day!
Both the Nexus 5X & 6P will be stuck on the back burner now while Google put's all it's effort into these new overpriced phones of theirs, so much for having a Nexus for speedy updates as that will now be a thing of the past, we have to wait for 7.1 & it wouldn't surprise me if we probably get a half hash chucked together version aswell.
In another post I said i was going to keep my nexus 6P till it either dies or looses it support, I'm actually tempted now to get a Note 7 one that doesn't explode which is cheaper than a Pixel XL
Dissapointed
I pondered getting a 6P (from an S7 Ege) until now. Not sure it's worth it now that The Google Pixels are out. Software support for the Nexus devices will probably be an afterthought now.
Will then rather go for a Note 7. I'd rather wait 6 months for a OS update while rocking a phone with some pretty decent features...and that S Pen...! GIF mania!
What I won't do is walk around with a phone that people would continuously think is an I Phone.

NRD90M.G935VVRS4BRC3 - Oreo update

Ugh nevermind Verizon is just sending out the security update even though they updated their pages with Oreo information and pics with this build.
It looks like Oreo should be available tomorrow. Build G935VVRS4BRC3. Looks like they are sending out April's security patch first tonight though.
Another fake-out disappointing.
Verizon themselves can't keep their own changelog straight. This update isn't the only one, there are countless examples from all of my devices with incorrect information.
I'm not saying Verizon is worse than any other carrier, they all have their issues. Make no mistake, these companies are not interested in long-term support, they just want your $$$.
Wife and I will probably get Google-branded devices next time. 1+ year waits are RIDICULOUS for software updates in 2018.
