SD Card decrypting itself - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an unbranded SM-9005 running the latest Polish lollipop 5.0 rom. It is not rooted.
For some reason whenever I try to install an app from the Amazon appstore, the SD card decrypts itself and then tells me the "SD card is safe to remove". This message appears at the same time as the app is installed.
However, when I try to open the app, I notice the following:
1. The application drawer does not display the proper icon or name for the app, and
2. I get an error message that the app has stopped.
When I go back to the Amazon appstore app to check on the status of the app I attempted to install I am told the app is installed but that it was not installed from the Amazon appstore! No matter what I do the app won't open so I uninstall it.
I thought I had a faulty SD card (SanDisk 64gb Ultra), so exchanged it for a brand new 128gb one of the same brand and class. However it's happening again.
Once the card has decrypted itself there is no way of encrypting it again unless I reboot the handset. If I try to encrypt the card it just ends up in a loop of asking me to enter my password, informing me that the card is ready to be encrypted and then asking me for the password again.
However if I try and install an Amazon appstore now it installs successfully.
I was running the Polish lollipop rom for a few months and everything was fine. This issue just appeared out of the blue and I'm thinking I might have a problem with my SD card slot.
Ideas anyone?

[Q] HELP!!! SD card damaged error message

After trying to do a root, following all the instructions on this site to a T, my phone booted up and presented me with a "SD card damaged, you may have to reformat" message.
I can click on it and hit reformat, but nothing happens.
I've tried doing the Odin recovery back to the stock /system, but that didn't seem to do anything. I've also booted into android recovery mode and tried wiping the cache partition, as well as doing factory reset.
HELP PLEASE!!!
UPDATE: the SD card is recognized when plugged into my computer via microSD adapter. Re-formatting on computer to the standard FAT32. will let you know how that goes, but still open to suggestions on assumption of failure.
Update 2: format failed. Popped it back into phone to try a last-ditch attempt at SOMETHING working.
It's still giving me an error message, though it's a different one;
Blank External SD card
SD card blank or has unsupported file system
Tried to format it on my phone, and it does nothing yet again.
how to proceed?

I have the same problem and did the same thing with my computer I think the sd is no longer good. I am using my sd card from my droid now and I now have a dead card too.

My Wildfire has now killed 4 SD cards. I think there is something seriously wrong with this phone.
This EXACT thing happened to my SD card, and while rooting, EXACTLY according to instructions.
I wound up just opening the automated Root batch file
and running the commands and pushing the files without the stupid automatic thing.
Something about the SD card mounting to the computer, and the computer rebooting while hanging onto a file for read/write.
I took it to Verizon and they replaced my SD card. It was even rooted, with Wireless Tether right on the home screen, LOL. Oh well.
Don't feel bad. The Samsung cards that came with the device are crap. Mine crapped out on day 2.
Call customer service and have them replace it.There's nothing you can do to fix it. Trust me, I tried...

Tested a different SIM card, now can't install apps or apks

I recently realized I've been using an old SIM card, and thought I might be on AT&T's EDGE network (instead of the 3G network). My wife's SIM card has a 3G SIM card, so I powered off her Aria and my X10 and put her card in my phone to test it.
The phone booted and I got a yellow ! notification that there was a problem with my Google account. I tried installing an app from Titanium to test the connection. The app wouldn't install.
I powered down and put my SIM card back in and booted. Since then, I cannot install or uninstall any apps from the market or from Astro in Wolfbreak's Cyanogenmod Froyo ROM (v054).
I restored in xrecovery to a few weeks ago, but the problem remains. I even put the SE ROM back on, did a factory reset, and did a fresh install of Wolfbreak's ROM, and it still won't install any app/apk.
I found a post which suggested stopping and wiping the market and its data, didn't fix it. Found a post which suggested deleting some folders from the SD card (LOST.DIR, Android, download and android_something), didn't work.
I CAN install apps fron the stock SE ROM.
Any help is appreciated.

inserting any new sim card to the x10 makes your google account to log off you have to log in over and over again I've done that and worked normally
you have to log in again to your google account.
Tested a different SIM card, now can't install apps or apks [SOLVED]
Thanks for your suggestions. While signing into my Google account didn't fix it, I did figure out the solution!
I had signed in to my Google account again, but I still couldn't install any apps. Also, and I meant to mention this before, all the apps on my SD card were "not installed" anymore.
So, I figured the SD card was the one constant among wiping and reinstalling the ROMs and restoring from backups before the switch. So, I restored my phone to an earlier state, and then DIDN'T boot, but took out the battery. I plugged my SD card into my laptop and deleted all the folders, except those I knew wouldn't have anything to do with the problem (e.g. music, DCIM, TitaniumBackup etc.).
When I plugged it back into my phone and booted, I could (un)install apps again! Of course, all the apps from my SD card were wiped, but God bless TitaniumBackup.
This also explains why the apps on the SD card didn't show up - probably the same bug preventing installation was preventing the phone from being able to use those apps. If anyone knows what SPECIFICALLY I could have deleted, instead of the massive wipe that I did, I'd love to know.
Hopefully this will help anyone who has this problem in the future.

[Q] Frequent reboot after installing new apps

My nook color stays not much longer than 1min after loading all the apps & just after that it reboots. I've tried installing a fresh rom couple of times & wiping each & everything but just after installing all the apps again, it reboots. Have tried both by installing it manually & restoring through titanium backup as well, but same result. It works fine only when I remove my micro sd. I know that some apps doesn't works when installing in micro sd & that's why I've installed all my apps in internal memory. I never faced that issue when I was using Phiremod v6.3 build. Recently after moving into the latest nightly build, this issue occurred. Please tell me how can I resolve this issue? I've been trying to find the solution from so many days but couldn't able to find. Thanks
You could use ROM Manager to restore the last ROM if you did a backup or just reinstall it. I am a little confused about what you mean by loading all the apps. Apps are generally loaded as you use them, not at boot up. When you first boot up you can usually see the SD card icon at the bottom of the screen before it gets mounted. It is possible the card got corrupted. If you don't have anything on it but app backups and it works fine when the card is out you could try reformatting the card on your PC or with a camera that uses micro SDHC cards.
You also might have a misbehaving app loading on startup.
When I first boot the system, the sd card icon shows at the bottom of the screen & disappears after loading all the games from it. After that I can see all my apps & games in app drawer but after a min, it gets reboot. I only have games in sd card, not a single app & neither any app in my internal memory which loads at startup.
Well if the nook boots and runs just fine without the SD-card inserted, then we can be pretty certain that something on the card is messed up. Lot's of possibilities: Corrupted .apk file, partially corrupted file structure on the SD-card itself, Hell it could also be auto-update panicking because it's trying to update an app that has yet to load off the SD-card.
First thing I would try is formatting the SD-card within CM7.
Also try turning off auto-update
If that fails, connect the SD-card to your computer and scan it with windows to check for any file table corruption.
If that fails, it's hard times ahead for you. You'll have to go through the apps one-by-one to see which one is being the little bastard.
Good luck.
Thanx for The help. But all I have on my SD card is just game. Before installing anything on my internal memory, I restored my games backup 1st to my SD card through titanium backup. It was then working absolutely fine. After that I installed apps manually just to see which app is causung error. But all were installed without any problem, used for a while then I manually reboot. Since then I am getting this issue.

[Q] After Kitkat, some apps automatically try to install to SD and won't run??

Ever since KitKat some of the Apps I've downloaded from Google Play have installed to my SD card by themselves and then are unable to run. I'll have the icon listed on the screen, but when I try to run it it will say "Unfortunately, com.edc.nyc has stopped" for example. I go and look at the app in Applicaton Manager and it's listed as being on the SD card and even though I never moved it there, it installed there. When I try to move it to Device Storage it gives me the same error. This has happened with multiple apps that I have never installed installed on the SD card before kitkat. It's like something has decided to install them to the SD card instead of Device Memory, but they won't run anyway. I uninstall them, clean things up, reboot, and try to install them again and then it installs them to again to SD and they fail to run. Any ideas what would be causing this and how to fix it? My Note's not rooted or anything.

Leave the SD card out and try installing the apps.

Thank you! That worked! It's weird it started doing this all of a sudden though. Are apps allowed to pick and choose where they are installed like that though or would Android be routing the file to the SD? It looks like the apps actually installed on the SD card too which I thought Kitkat was supposed to prevent?

Suddenly Lost Ability to Write to SD Card

I have a very strange thing that has just started occurred with my wife's Note 4. It appears that all apps have lost write-access to the SD card.
I first noticed the problem with the camera app. The camera app was configured to write to external storage but when a picture is taken, it says "Unable to save file to SD card. Default storage has been changed to device memory."
The Gallery app is also not able to write to the SD card (cannot create a new album) or move files to an existing album on the card.
Solid Explorer cannot create a new folder on the card.
I've tried to clear app settings for the camera and Solid Explorer. But even after setting everything back up, I still get the same results.
I'm running stock v6.0.1 (EPJ2) rooted. Also, my (seemingly identical) Note 4 does not display any of this behavior. No changes other than normal application updates.
Any ideas what might be going on?
I've had this happen when an SD Card gets corrupted - you can still view and access the files that are already on the card, but you can no longer write to it.
Try the card in a PC and see if that can write to it - if not then your card is likely permanently damaged. I had 3 Sandisk 64Gb cards go like this in two different devices. Tried reformatting them every which way, but nothing would make them writeable again. Have used Samsung cards ever since and never had a failure yet.
Just restart your phone

There are 3 possible solutions:
Using MS Windows PC
Using Linux PC
Using TWRP Recovery with a proper BusyBox
Let me know which one do you choose & I will explain how.

You nailed it. My card was a 128 GB SanDisk Ultra. Pulled it from the phone and my laptop couldn't write to it either. Copied everything off and copied it back to a new card and there you go.
Grrrr...$^%**# SanDisk.
Out of curiosity, what Samsung line did you end up choosing? I think the EVO+ will be sufficient for me but wondering what you ended up using.

Glad you got it sorted! I've been using a Samsung PRO 64Gb - this is the 128Gb version on Amazon UK:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01CRZCLAM
I think the newer version of it is this one:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B019QO1Q4O
But you're right - the EVO+ is probably sufficient. It wasn't available when I was purchasing:
