Hi
My powerbank stops charging after my phone is locked.
Was wondering if there is a setting that might resolve the problem?

Nevermind.
1. It wasnt only when locked. Is all the time.
2. I resolved the issue. I used a generic lead not yhe samsung one and ot works fine now.

Do what ll_r1d0_ll says. My friend had the same issue with his Note 2 cable. With his cable it charged his phone 5% in an hour (screen off), with mine 10-ish % in approx. 30 minutes (2A)
For about a Week my note 3 started to just power down. Sometimes it happens when I deactivate the lock screen or it might happen when Im just using my phone.
I have updated it to kitkat N9005XXUENB3_N9005OXXENB1_XEO and have tried other custom roms and it still is doing the same. PLEASE any advice would be awesome!
thanks in advance.

Try FULL wipe (Including wiping internal sd) and then reflash the ROM and see if it still continues, if it does... You might have to take the device in for servicing.
Thanks for the reply. I have triped knox so how can i take it in for a service? Could it be anything else apart from a hardware fault?? Thanks

Still trying to find out if this is a hardware issue or softwear. Any tips guys?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
Well, if it will be a real problem than you should still take it into service, maybe that guy will forget to check the knox.
I'm starting to notice that I'm not getting no power downs when the charging lead is pluged in the phone.
Might it be a battery issue? If so how much does one cost for a note 3?

I had the same problem with my n7100 a few months ago.
the problem was, that one of the 4 battery contacts was a bit dirty (dont ask how this happened :silly, so a hard (or less hard) shake of the phone could interrupt the contact for a moment and the phone restarted.
I know its unlikely, but better check it before sendind it to the service
Yes it's working fine now for a few days....got a tooth pick and cleaned the contacts and everything is all fine.
Going to order another battery for backup also.
Thanks guys.

Have you tried to completely flash the stock 4.4.4 image? Does your battery seem to bulge? Have you tried changing the charging cable and the charging transformer itself?

I have rooted my phone and put in the latest tekhd 5.1.1 t3 with DOGS kernal... my phone was charging just fine until just one day it stopped working at all. I already tried going back to stock rom. There's no more fast charge and also the only time it'll show even a sign of a charge is when I plug in USB to the computer. I had already switched out and got the flex cable and charging port replaced but I'm getting the exact same issue. I've run out of ideas if there's anything else I can try lmk. Ty

Going to try flex cable that is specific for t3 version to see if that does the trick
Sent from my SM-N910T3 using Tapatalk
Okay so that did not work and the tech told me it's possibly an IC chip that has burned out or something. He said it's a long shot but might work

I'm wondering if it's possibly the OS... dies dirty flashing from 5.0.1 tekxoddus to 5.1.1 be the culprit? Or am I over thinking it?

Hi guys, I bought the phone from someone with this issue. It gets hot very fast when I use it, also when in charge, so much that sometimes I can't touch it. The battery also drains very fast when it's in use. I tried every solution on Google I could find but no luck. It also won't power on without the charger being in even when battery is fully charged. I rooted it now and want to know if I install cyanogenmod Wil maybe resolve this issue? Thanks.

Have you tried upgrading the firmware to the latest version and performing a hard factory reset afterwards?
Yes I did.

Yes I have 2

That is strange as the only time my N910C uses allot of power is when I play 3D intensive games on it or use to work on heavy tasks.
Could this be the motherboard that's faulty or something?

I also got my phone second hand from a guy and my phone also gets hot when making intensive tasks. I don't usually play games. But it gets hot when using location(Tinder). Is this related to ROM. I don't think it has to do with the motherboard although you should go and see a service!! Let me know what were your results. Thanks
Yeah, I'd take it to a Samsung Service Center and let them check it out. It could be the battery cable is loose.
So a custom rom won't fix?

I also had the same issue when i first bought my phone 4 month ago but after the latest update the over heat problem is gone. Try to flash the stock rom through odin. Battery problem your facing it could be from the battery calibration try to drain out the battery let drain fully if your phone switched off by itself try to power it on again for many times as possible then charge your phone while it's switched off for 2 hrs power on your phone and charge it again for 30 min hopefully this will resolve the battery calibration issue.

You should try it out. When i a got my SM-N910F, it was a real hot headed one (on Stock 5.0.1).
After flashing a custom rom, the tempratures dropped significantly.
Currently iam running a custom kernel and undervoltet slightly. The Phone is running cool and stable.

Depends. Only in case your problem is software related. In case of an hardware defect, a custom rom won't change anything. You should monitor your GPU and CPU usage of your device. You can use apps like cpu z to measure it. When the clock speed of you CPU is constantly high even with the simplest tasks, you can consider rooting your device, flashing a custom rom/kernel and try to reduce the clock speed. This may help keeping the temperature in check but won't do anything about defective hardware.
But, as you said, this problem persists even with stock firmware (maybe the guy you bought it from flashed the wrong firmware.....) this could only have 3 reasons: 1. defective hardware, 2. defective software/wrong firmware, 3. Some of your apps in the background is going crazy (try to use better battery stats or wakelock detector for that).
Good luck.
Tried to install cyanogenmod but I get error dm vertify verification failed with reboot. I Google it and tried everything but doesn't looked like there's a fix for this. Anyone had similar issue or have a solution for this pls? Thanks.
