I would like to uprade my GS3 to either an OPO or Nexus 5. I am leaning towards the OPO but had a couple questions about it.
I am planning to flash with CM12.1. The question I have is whether the OPO has the options to update profile and PRL in CM12.1 nightlies like the Nexus 5 does. (my gs3 does not have that option and I have to flash back and forth to update)
Dont know answer to your question, but I`d go for OnePlus and flash a custom rom. I already had Nexus 5 (actually 4 of them) and can not recommend it

So do you have an OPO and a custom rom on yours?

Well i decided to buy the Nexus one because of it's hardware and software (I love to customize). Since i have absolutely zero replies in the Q&A section i decided to try and ask here
1) I will be flashing my N1 straight away to 2.3.4(skipping the setup too) after I get it is that possible?, or do I need to go through certain updates
2)I will most likely will be getting the S-LCD version of the N1 I was wondering if ND1Razors guide on rooting would root that version of N1, Also what does he mean by the solid Nexus one logo (step 13) can somebody show me please
3) Lastly after I have rooted will I still have Clockwork recovery/mod and from there will I be able to flash Cyanogen mod 7?
Thank you
1.) Unlock your bootloader, but act really groovy while doing
2.) Flash that custom recovery you've always wanted (personally I prefer amon ra's over CWM)
3.) I've taught you everything I know, now the student becomes the master. Flash away

I would go to this Forums wiki and get very familiar with the recovery and rom you want--more involved than 3 steps
Also, where did/will you buy the N1 and what carrier is it for? Some are Att and some TMO.
lol...me trying to sell my nexus one and get a dual-core and u want to buy a new NEXUS ONE
hi guys
my Nexus 7 32 Gb will ship in 3 days and i wanted to aks some questions :
First One: Should i stick to Stuck Rom or a Custom Rom?!
i heard that Android 4.2 has some really issues and random restart is that true?!
Second One : i need to install a good kernel on this one and according to Benchmarks that Nexus only scores <4000 i need a fast yet stable and lag free and of course power saver kernel can u name one?!
Third One : Does Unlocking Bootloader Avoids Guarantee ?! i had one before but just for 2 days so i unlocked it then rooted it then relocked it so if i do this i will keep my Guarantee right?!
and does Custom Roms needs Unlock bootloaders?!
i had several but i never Knew these basic questions (third ones) and can u explain ZRAM Zipaligned Deodexed! These are real pain in the A$$ and i never asked about them!
THANKS GUYS

1- Custom Rom definitely, im running Liquid Smooth ROM (AOSP)
2- I recommend Trinity Kernel, but search yourself and decide
3- As far as in aware it voids your warranty but it's easy to relock as you said you done it yourself, generally a custom Rom will require you to be rooted, etc

Yes you should unlock your bootloader first which will wipe your data. Then stay on stock for a bit and see how you like it. After that you can root and install custom roms all you want
Oh yeah personally speaking I would avoid 4.2 dreadful update, even Googles small update isn't enough, stay on 4.1.2 for now

The nice thing about the Nexus 7 is that it's a great machine STOCK! I've used Trinity...nothing wrong with it. Since the last update, I've left mine stock. It's fast and reliable.

You should always backup before flashing.
The kernel you use is up to you. People who ask which is the best tend to have their threads locked.
It is safe.
First you will have to unlock your bootloader. And then flash a recovery.
Backup your current rom.
Wipe.
Flash.

Very safe.
If you are new to flashing and custom android in general I recommend sticking to the kernel whatever ROM you choose comes with. The more complex you make things the more chances you can make a mistake; for example, there are several people who have bricked their Nexus 4s by flashing kernels for the N7 etc. Also, depending on the kernel, you may introduce the possibility for instability or worse, cause damage to your phone. Do lots of research before playing with any custom kernels and make sure you are flashing the correct kernel for your device (mako).
As far as CM10.1 Nightlies go, they are extremely stable and can have minor bugs occasionally when new features are introduced. Stick to one of the M builds if you want to play it safe. Stable builds of CM10.1 have not yet arrived for any devices, but I have a feeling we're not too far off.
Been flashing CM nightlies everytime I charge my phone and haven't run into any issues yet. The ROM itself feels just as smooth as stock with the added bonus of extra features and customization. I think it's perfectly safe as long as you don't accidentally flash something meant for another device
Hi guys, Just made it after 6 Years with an iphone and iOS i moved on to Android got myself a nexus 4
im still struggling with the android.
just wanted to know what is the latest pacman rom for nexus 4? and where can i download it?
cause i could only find packman rom 23 for note II.(maybe i can install this one on my nexus 4?)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2146879
This is where PACman rom is. Stick with Android. You will never look back. And if you BADLY want IOS back, MIUI gives a similar experience.

Before doing any modifications to your phone, get to know android, read the wiki's about terminology and how stuff work around here. You'll be doing yourself a big favor, and escaping a potential "Help-i bricked my device" thread. You can't flash roms from other devices.
One more tip, post questions in the Q&A section, you'll get better support and answers there.

From my BLACKED OUT N4
If you have played with your Galaxy S3 for a very long time.......now the time has come to make it ready for some freaky roms and tweaks.
FIRST THING TO DO IS
1.ROOT your android phone
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/root-galaxy-s3-i9300xxugna7-android-4-3-jelly-bean-1435664
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/root-galaxy-s3-i9300xxugna7-android-4-3-jelly-bean-1435664
Follow the rules posted here.
2.Install Custom Rom,I prefer CMhttp://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=i9300&type=nightly
Many of the users don't like to use VANILLA UI after using TOUCHWIZ UI.
So,I prefer instaling MIUI.Even if MIUI is based on older version of Android,it is still one of the best custom rom I have ever used for a phone.\
Here is the link for it too
="http://enbigota.d.miui.com/4.4.11/miui_i9300_4.4.11_436e5b96d5_4.1.zip"
This version of MIUI is based on Android 4.2.2
3.FLASH Philz recovery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/orig-development/i93xx-philz-touch-t2002953
4.Now that you are bored, flash the stock firmware and sell your S3 and grab a new phone.
http:http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/install-i9300xxugna5-android-4-3-stock-firmware-galaxy-s3-1434726//

When I first received my phone,I was very curious to flash Custom Roms, tweaks. But after making all these things,I sold my phone and bought a Nexus 4
If you are on here, you rooted and flashed a custom rom well before you thought the s3 was an old phone
Give it to me for free. That's what you should do with it.

Why not a Nexus 5?
100% root your phone and get rid of the ugly stock OS IMO.
How long did you used your s3? And how much do you know about it.

When I read the title I expected something like:
1. Take a camera
2. Take a hammer
3. Start recording while you hit your phone
4. Throw it as high as possible
