Case with a front cover - Elephone P7000

Hello, I'm searching the net for a protective case that got a full front cover and that is not stuck with glue... Seems funny but I didn't found any... I had no luck with the screen protectors given by Elephone, the one they put on the phone had dust under so I had to remove it, I ****ed the one on supply and the tempered one is broken inside the box... Any idea or suggestion ? thanks !

Would something like this be OK or do you have something different in mind?

That would be ok, but what is the black part, is it glue ? I found a lot of that kind of case but the doesn't stand on the phone, they are all stuck on it. Basically one drop and it's dead.

Any method that will work!!!??

Hi All,
Sorry if this is already on the forum but I cant seem to find a method that works right.. I stuck my phone in my girlfriends handbag whilst on holiday and on the beach, sand got into her bag and scratched the hell out of it, including the touch-screen. I have bought Displex but even that does not work well on the outside rim let alone the touch screen.
Is there any possilble way to remove these scratches??
Anyone got any suggestions..
Thank you

Lol very good, I could go down that route, unfortunatley no I did not have the protector on ... If I did apply the screen protector.. would it fade out the scratches if not the major ones, perhaps the minor ones.
Ill try that

Thanks for the Message, might sound silly to you but how much are we roughly talking for a screen and perhaps the casing as the front has a number of scratches too.
I have not had time to whizz through this website as mostly I check it through work so apologies if there is a thread on this already.

It can help after wards sometimes I had TYTN2 before with a similar problem I applied the protector after it was scratched and I was pretty happy with the results I could only see scratches when I really looked for them in light so its worth a shot before replacing anything cheaper too
Still think my first idea is better
Fact of life these things get damaged sooner or later. I would just accept the fact that it's damaged as long as it works. You will probably move onto the next device in a few months!

Dropped my precious HD2 ... doh!

Hey guys,
Just got out the car, fell over the cat and my HD2 has slipped from my top pocket and slammed screen down into the concrete driveway, doh! The screen is obliterated with cracks ... however
1. The picture is 100% clear/fine
2. The touchscreen works 100%
Can I just replace the top glass cover/screen, or is it an all in one combined unit? Im confident with electronics, just wish to know the answer before part hunting and stripping the device.
Cheers

I would call HTC. They are good on their prices when it comes to fixing stuff that is out of warranty. A guy I knew got his Nexus One screen replaced for $90.

Problem is, I cannot afford to be without my phone, the phone is still usable its just difficult to read through the cracks, the image and touchscreen still work perfect, it's as if another layer of glass sits overtop.
Im 100% confident in stripping electronics etc, was just after a quick answer as to whether anyone knew if this was likely to be an entire screen or just a digitizer, if no one knows I will just strip it down tomorrow when I can get to my T drivers.
check out this vid on dissembling the hd2 - you might find your answer there..hope it helps

I'm happy to repair myself as I see no reason to pay someone money when I work with electronics daily and I can locate parts easily, just need to know if its the digitizer or the LCD that's broken without pulling the device apart.
Also, thank you for the link above, will give that a look now, I really think it's just the top digitizer as the screen still shows a crystal clear image, the backlight works fine and the touchscreen works too, its just badly cracked.
This happened to me (apart from the cat), however it seems you got lucky, the LED screen decided to break, has all funny white lines over it but the glass is perfect.
^^ As far as going to fix it your self is concerned, I would have tried myself, however I just know with my luck that something would go wrong and it wouldnt work D:
I usually go via the DIY route but I've seen too many stories where HD2 repairs have gone horribly wrong. It seems that replacing one part is fairly straightforward but avoiding damage to others is not. I'm sure that as miniaturization continues repairs, even by talented amateurs, will become impossible.
It's your digitizer. It's available online. Just make sure you get the right one for your country. TMO-US uses a different one than everywhere else, I believe. Also, watch the video linked above. The digitizer removal I hear is somewhat tricky. Good luck!
Hi there and hello from Croatia!well,i must say changing digitizer on hd2 aint easy.lcd is glued with some special glue type and after you glue them up u need to glue digitizer for housing, for that im using ebay double sided iphone 3m tape but it is not strong enough.as for the hardware inside u ned to be 100% concentrated on this cuz flat for keypad is 30$...digitizer around 50$...chinese resellers with good quality.good luck!

[Q] Cracked Camera Glass

Bah!
Just noticed the camera glass on the back on the phone has a nice crack through it... not sure how it happened as the phone has barely been used and never dropped!
Luckily it doesn't seem to be effecting the photos - but it is a bit of a worry and I don't want it getting worse and damaging the actual camera lens
Does anyone know of anywhere in the UK that I might be able to source a replacement part this early in the phones life cycle?
I don't really want to get Samsung or Vodafone to fix it as I had my S3 sent back due to a manufacturing issue and didn't see the phone for another 5 weeks!!
From what I can see in the tear down videos, the camera is quite easy to get to and the glass is quite easy to remove, so I might give it a go at home...
As for the warranty - I assume this voids it, but I can't see any security seals that would let them know this had been done, am I missing something?
Thanks for your help!
Are you sure it's a crack in the glass and not just a scratch in the protective seal? I've had some bubbles under what I assumed was the glass but it turned out I just didn't remove the plastic seal that was on the real glass.
Can't help you with replacement if it's really cracked, good luck though!

Nope, Unfortunately it's a pretty genuine crack, you can feel the two pieces shifting slightly when you gently tap the area - very frustrating

On the S3 you could remove the glass cover the lens is actually further back in the housing, try this video see if it works the same on the S4.
Cant help with a replacement part but at least you can remove it and order one espares once they become available.
Ah that's a good idea!
Before I start hacking away at it to check, does anyone have an S3 and S4 and could compare the camera housing by eye - just to see if they do look like they are built in a similar way?
Thanks for your help!

I've just looked at my S3 and it is different appears the S4 is more intergrated theirs no natural place you could get a pin to lift it away.

[Q] Bezel Replacement VS980

Hey guys. I was an idiot this morning and dropped my phone a whole 2 feet. Landed on it's bottom and now the bezel has dents in it. I'd like to try and replace it. Does anyone know a good site where I can buy parts? I was looking on eBay but everything I found seems to be white. Could someone point me in the right direction? I think it's the bezel that's damaged. I'm attaching an image. Any help is welcome.

I'll have to check the video out at home. At work. Kind of hard. Thanks for the info. If the part I scratched is glued to the screen, could a new bezel and digitizer work then

it probably would but changing the digitizer is a difficult job because there is a pretty high risk damaging the screen when removing it if you font know what youre doing.

[Q] Strange marks on the brand new screen

Hello mates!
I just got a brand new SGS5 and I noticed strange marks on the display. The display is absolutelly unmarked, no scratches or anything like that. When I polish the display, no marks are able to see, but when I use my fingers and the fingerprints are on them, they go visible. I tried to use some alcohol or things like that to get rid of them, but nothing helped.
Here some photos of it (attached) - firstly the polished display, then the strange marks after usage.
Anyone has any experience about similar problem? Any ideas how to get rid of them? Warranty please as a last option, I'm leaving to holiday in next weeks and I would like to take my S5 with me.
Thank you for any response, the solver gets a candy!

Well, even though I am not in it for the candy , I am still trying to help you out here. It seems that it is some adhesive residue of some sorts, I would advise you use rubbing alcohol (though be careful with it and use it only within the confines of the screen!) on those spots.

As I wrote higher, alcohol didn't help. No candy for you, even if you wanted it! But thank you anyway. I'm looking for someone who had this problem and managed it to get rid of those marks.

Ahhhh, sorry, didn't read it properly it seems, my bad, am a bit tired, but if I knew that I shouldn't have responded I guess
Really weird problem, though it also has an interesting possible use, if we know what caused this, it could be implemented to prevent fingerprints from happening at all as those spots seem to be fingerprint resistant.

Haha, so I'm going to keep this phone and sell it for research. :victory: But for now I woul'd be ok with phone without this special layer...
Have the same spots, but at the top of the screen near the speaker. But it looks for like the spots are the places without resistance layer. How do you think can warranty help in this case ?
Solved
Hello!
Yes - whole problem solved by warranty. No problem with it. They replaced the whole display and there are no problems anymore. :victory:
Unfortunatelly I didn't find anything that could help without replacing the display. But - as I said - there was absolutly no problem about warranty and changing it.
Hope this thread helps

Finally!
Finally someone with the same problem! I've searched for ages for somebody with the same problems that i have with my sgs5 screen. I've actually gotten my phone replaced 2 times for the same reason but after between one and four days the same kind of blotches or scratches return, as described above. The last time I handed in my phone Samsung (pretty reasonable though annoying) decided that it had to be caused by my own usage, hence no help from them.
The problem is that I have been extra bloody careful with the phone since I've had the same problems several times, but now Samsung won't help me because it's such an unusual problem, and I have no idea of whats causing it. Does anybody have a clue on whats causing these things to appear on the screen? Would it be possible to reapply a new layer of oloeophobic coating?
Huh, that's wild. That seems like something that would happen if someone were to repair the front-glass improperly. Lack of Loca glue between the glass and display.

You think? I got a brand new phone the first two times (!) since it was during the 5 days DOA time. So in that case it's from production not repair. The screen has later been replaced but the problem appears AGAIN... Samsung won't even answer me anymore since they claim it's my own doing. Really annoying...
same thing
Hi guys. I have the same thing. Brand new phone. Was using for 4 days. When I clean the spot there are no sratches but once i touch with fingers i see strange pattern. Tried cleaning with non alchohol screen cleaner but no luck. Was extremely careful not keeping with metals in my pocket. I think it would be nightmare to send it to warranty to prove that smth is wrong.. Starting to hate Samsung. Waiting for glass screen protector so i think once i put it the problem dissapear. Still wery annoyed..

You might ask for a replacement which i think they'll give you and then directly put a screen protector on. Annoying I know but as I've said before it's gonna happen again with ur newly replaced screen (or else i'm very bloody unlucky...). I wonder if it would be possible to just remove all the oleophobic coating of the screen in some way. I'm pretty sure that's the cause of the problem.
I am having the same issue with my phone. I don't want to replace the screen, because I don't like doing that.
Did anyone managed to get them away?
Same thing here. I am not even sure if the issue is caused by the oleophobic coating on the top.
Looks like a mass problem and replacing the screen or the phone will not help.
Anybody tried screen protector to fix the issue?
