Ahah, this phone overheats while gaming no matter on which version u are.
If not gaming i dont have any heat pb on 5.1.1
Change ur phone if you want a cold one

Ah men I am not gaming! I just take cca. 15 photos and got this issue! Under 5.0.2 I take 150 photos in a row and NO OVERHEATING!!!
Anyone have the same issue under 5.1.1???
Yes me too... and I don't play any game.. heating problem especially while charging
Me too, while charging and playing games
Sent from my D6653 using Tapatalk
First of all this is the SD 810 right? And we all know that the 810 has some serious overheating problems. The second thing is your new ROM. Your device has to settle down after a ROM upgrade, so it may run hotter than it would usually did. Just give it some time and you should be able to take photos again.
And why your phone heats up while you charge your phone is simple physics. I assume you use your phone while you charge and that's why it heads up while you do so. Just turn it off while charging and it won't head up.
I didn't experience any heat issues. But my battery life was like 50% worse. I got twice as good on 5.0.2. Maybe it was an app. I checked and i didn't find. It was android OS draining the battery. Now I'm back to 5.0.2. Maybe i'll try next update.

What he said
I'm getting same popup message using
eXistens 5.0.2 on my Bell 6603
I'm glad other people are noticing this as well. The OP is correct, the rest of you haven't experienced it. I flashed 5.1.1 Nordic version the day the person made flashzip of it. Yesterday I went outside, yes the temperature is 95 degrees but just playing music on SD card my phone became hot. I wanted to take a picture of the station but couldnt because phone was considered overheating.....
Today i left my place which the phone was connected to WiFi....as soon as I left the place and turned on data my phone became hot after 2 mins of walking.
This was NOT the case on US ftf 5.0.2
This isn't a 10k brand new car where you need 5k miles to let the engine settle in.... -_-
I dirty flashed over....US ftf. Maybe that could be the problem.
It might be that the Nordic version is bad and I should clean wipe and flash US ftf.
You guys need to read.... this is happening on the z3 for people after 5.1.1.
We all know the z3+ overheats.
Overheating while charging is a known problem with the Z3 IF you use the phone while charging. Try charging the phone with a quick charger and not using it whilst charging and see if the message pops up.

Sure it's not a brand new car, but you also have to thing about how complex the Technology inside your smartphone is.
I just want you to understand. Wheather you believe me or not is up to you.
You have to do your own reasearch then.

Reread the OPs sentence and thread title, he has a Z3 not a z3+. He said the same issue as the z3+ now on his z3....
I've been flashing since 2010, my first being the almighty HTC Incredible on Verizon Wireless. Again, it shouldn't take several days to settle down. Neither of my past phones took several days to settle down. That's from my five years experience using only snapdragon chip phones.
I dirty flashed over 5.0.2 and mine doesn't even heat up. Taking pictures may warm it up a bit, it did so even on 5.0.2. About charging, no phone does heat up unless you are using it too. And you should know it's not recommended to use a phone while it's charging.

Recently my Nexus 7 has been running quite warm lately in fact As im typing this post my CPU temperature is 62c - 143f the tho the battery temperature is fine.
Also it seems to take forever to charge it took nearly 8 hours to charge powered off while before I could do that in half the time I'm worried something is wrong with it but hoping it's possible to fix
As of right now it's been stuck at 89% changed for about 4 hours now (while using it lightly)
And just today I was playing Badland and lost 5% battery in 8 minutes
Additional information:
Nexus 7 32GB
Stock rom & Franco. kernel
Rooted
Using default charger and cable
Could be the kernel
I just noticed that the CPU runs at the maximum frequency constantly while screen is on. That's probably why it's eating up soo much battery and near to impossible to charge. Well it's 5am now ill flash stock kernel later today!
One little note:
I'm not sure if this actually happened but I flashed stock kernel last night and rebooted at around 3am and now it's Franco kernel. Umm yeah I don't know I'm a bit loopy right now since I haven't slept at all (nearly 6AM)
Will keep updated if anything changes
Kernel is not behaving as expected, try cache/delvic wipe from recovery.
if not working then flash some other kernel. I use M-kernel m65
Still need help

Unfortunately both of your suggestions had no effect on my tablet tho thank you for the suggestion.
I'm wondering if wiping my whole sd would do the trick?
The only problem is ive never done it before.
Temputare right
68c (and I just booted my tablet 3 minutes ago)
Additional note:
I use wugfreshs nexus toolkit
I have a feeling restoring to stock kernel will have no effect
Maybe the only choice
I may have no choice but to wipe my tablet and flash stock 4.3 on.
Please if anyone knows how to fix this or had this problem before please leave a reply!
Imstall watchdog app from play store and check which app is causing high cpu usage and try disabling that app or removing it.
If kernel is ok then some app is the issue.
Please ignore my spelling mistakes, Thank You.

I tried that but there isnt really any app eating at the cpu.
I noticed that even the smallest thing like touching the screen will make the cpu spike up to the max frequency I have no clue what it could be.
again thanks for the help!

Hardware problem
Well it's definitely a hardware problem since I've tried everything software-wise to fix this and now I have no choice but to deal with it seeming how my warranty has already ran out.
That's sad ?

There may be hope?
I just found something
As you can see below
1: Discharging
2: PC
3: AC Chager
This is why it would just take forever to charge and also anyone else with a nexus 7 can they please show me what there avg mA discharge rate is!
Still not clear on the CPU spiking all the time but this, this shouldn't be like this

Looks like its good news I just found the problem that was causing the CPU to be hot all the time
Now looking at the red rectangle below this was the problem. when I opened my tablet I saw that this thin copper sheet was slightly bent upwards
and it wasn't touching the CPU causing it to heat up and not disperse the heat evenly across the thin copper sheet now that I've fixed it I can barely feel the heat on the palm of my hand holding it I'm soo glad that I fixed it.
Tho it still doesn't explain the battery drain and cpu spikes but ohwell I'm just happy I got rid of the heat issue since it made it really annoying to hold it.
Also this is a basic check for anyone else who may come across this problem with their Nexus 7 2012 tablets!
High cpu frequency explains the battery drain but hot cpu don't.
have u gone full stock, like back to google stock image with no root.
try it and report back.

The battery on my phone is almost empty, this bug is only present when you turn on the phone, and as soon as the second or third time, locks and unlocks the phone, the problem disappears. It happened to me , but only when the battery is below 10%.
Connect your charger, stands on the clock, and not below it where there should be.

Microsoft started developing non stop on Windows OS since 1975 and ti'll now it's still has bugs. Now you expect Sony or should I say Android to have a bugless OS which just started a few years ago? Don't mean to rant but being a developer myself I do believe there's no software to date that has no bugs >.<

What? You didn't knew? Sony, Microsoft, Google are out there just to create bug to piss users off, this it the sole purpose of their activities... They could do bugless release but they preffer to bug'em all out and look out on forums (or social media) just to see their reactions, they are the trollest of em all!
(BTW: I'm sarcastic)
I sell Sony Z1, moreeee problems, bugs... Never the back to Sony! My current device the HTC One, running sense 6, work perfect!!!
Lol. Looking at the One M8 XDA page I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2694874
The point is there's no software out there that is bug free. The KK .757 firmware has fixed all major bugs. I myself am not getting that bug you're getting. Try a factory reset and see if that fixes the problem.
If you want to see buggy software, go to Samsung or LG. Well to be fair touchwiz has improved with the S5 (still hideous though) but my friend's LG G2 has a ton of bugs. Sony are pretty decent when it comes to the amount of bugs it has.

How does that show that Sony doesn't make stable software? .757 is rock stable for me. Not one crash or random reboot. A misplaced formatting doesn't make your device unstable. These small bugs exist in all ROMs, especially considering that it goes away after the 2nd or 3rd time. It doesn't impact your usage of the device in any way. Hopefully Sony should fix it but it seriously shouldn't be a huge deal that you make it out to be.

Me neither. If you don't like Sony phones don't buy them. If they have bugs, report them using the specified channel which is Sony Forum if my memory serves me well. Opening a thread to rant an OEM is not the best idea, since they are not reading this.

Enough, simply enough.
This thing's battery life is so poor its just unusable. Rebooting the device makes me lose half the battery, and I can't fix it.
I really like this phone for it's performance but except for that it sucks. I've been trying to fix this for months but I cant get it working. No matter which ROM or which kernel, a full battery can't even hold one single evening of reading 9gag. (It survives just a hour, maybe a little more...)

The drop in the middle is a reboot
I've not used the phone all day, but at the second I touch it it drains from 70% to 10% in not even a hour, only app running was 9gag. It does NEVER survive a school day, no longer than 1/1.5 hour screen on time... The battery in it is brand new, and I even had it replaced twice by Samsung.
I'm sorry all, I'm taking my iphone with me tomorrow. This is no more fun.
You obviosly have media scanner issue, since sdcard is the first one listed. Install BBS for more info, but I'm sure it's media scanner. It can be fixed quite easily though.
About losing half of the battery when you reboot, it's a KK's bug on S2.(That is KK you're using, right ? ) It is annoying, but can be solved. Just plug it into charger, reboot to recovery, and then reboot the recovery itself. Battery percentage should fill up.
And at the end, you should't have rooted and installed a custom ROM(s) if you can't solve a simple problems like this.
With sammy based ROMs, you wouldn't have had those issues, but KK based ROMs are not perfect, so either deal with it, or simply don't use them.
You certainly have a problem with the mediascanner... A clean install would probably fix it...

Dude... Just use BetterBatteryStats! Or GSM Battery Monitor to see what Apps are eating your extra battery juices!
I also recommend you to stick to Stock-JB-based ROMs (like NeatROM JB), since it's one of the Custom Stock ROMs that's gonna give you a longer-lasting battery. I recommend NeatROM since it's packed with Apolo Kernel, which also a good kernel for battery!
I use SlimSaber KitKat by fusionjack, since I want features. But if you want to enjoy more Screen-ON time with your S2, better get NeatROM :good:
Tell me what this is:
A simple reboot causes major battery loss.
And its HELL annoying
That's the bug on every KitKat based ROM, I already told you. You haven't actually lost your battery p
ercentage, it's just showing wrong informations.
Just reboot to recovery with your phone plugged into the charger, and then reboot the recovery itself, and your battery should fill up.
And install BetterBatteryStats, let your phone idle during the night, and post the log here, so we can tell you if there's anything specific draining your battery.

I apologize then, didn't know it happens even on stock ROMs.
It won't even boot up today, it turns on and immediately gives 0% battery and shuts of again, it was fully charged for sure.

Before this I got screen on time maximum 2,5 hours.
Just wanted to let you guys/Girls in on this as it worked perfect for me and my wife.
Thanks for the placebo

Think I've been around enough to make an accurate judgement, add I'm an recognised developer, I made a hell of a lot of mods and ROM's all developed for two things only battery life with good speed.
You don't have to believe me, what matters is for me, add I got a much better phone.
Hi smaberg,
I was wondering if you are on the Euro 815 version of the G4? Based on your post I'm guessing you are? As a guy who knows what he/she is doing, I was wondering if you could make a flashable zip of the version d firmware? I have a mac and my understanding is you need a pc for the LG flash tool?
Figured I would ask and would greatly appreciate if you could help!!
Do you have the same set of apps installed as you did before the firmware and resets?
I saw better battery results on my second G4 vs my first, some of which I assume was because I installed a lot less apps on the second unit. Which seems reasonable to me.
What device is the OP using?

I'm on international 815 (Euro).
Still using the exact same apps(didn't use LG backup Restore as it brings back the old draining Barry problem from my old backup).
And NO I can't make an zip, as it would skip some important steps. I mean I can make it, NO problem, but then you will end up with the exact same problem add the old.
hey Smaberg, can you outline the step to flash the new version? I'm using 815, but since i'm residing in Asia, my phone is not seeing any upgrades.
Yeah i also like to get exact steps you made to flash

lol at 3 factory resets..just makes me want to skip the whole ordeal
it's 2015 and google (+manufacturers) still can't get their **** together even when using the most powerful hardware available
android 5.x has been utter failure imo.
@smaberg, 4.5 hrs screenon is nothing to be specially proud on, yesterday i had 6hrs with 12.5hrs on battery. Device is H815 and firmware is v10c howecer, i got my device on saturday and did just root it this night... we will see how it behaves now.

Me too, but I did one before flash, one with the flash tool as I chose to make a CLEAN install, and the last mostly to be sure.

I know, but compared to before, with only 2 hours, sometimes even less worth stock a and b I'm pretty ☺ happy, now I'm going to deactivate some junk and see the results, and when I'm done I'll share it.
I'm trying to get the best battery without root, then with root and some of mine scripts and files mod. And we'll see where we stand. In the end maybe an ROM pure made for battery as in the old days. If some still want this? I thought/think people mostly want bling bling and speed...

Hi,
I would definitely be interested in a battery life based ROM. I find that premium phones have more than enough power you need (if youre not a gamer) so as long as the UI is smooth battery life is more important to me.
Regards,
Ravi
Only used 4% battery and got this screen on time. With everything on.

That's weird, you have the economy saver logo activated but still have 62% of battery life...

You can turn it on manually which some people do to prolong battery life rather than just when on low battery.

Correct I have it on pretty much all the time. It doesn't effect anything I do on the phone and I get a lot better battery life as you can see combined with the use of App Ops, DisableService, and greenify

I don't use it because of the annoying orange colour change... How did you get rid of that??
Hi to everyone,
I just one to let everyone know that the wakelocks problems seems to have disapeared with the V20P update (I made it with LG Bridge, not with OTA).
My phone, like others, was NOT dozezing at all... and geting a max of 1.5 - 2 hours of SOT.
V20P for which variant?

For the H850, European version. I live in Romania, if it helps. Like I said, I made it with LG Bridge, since the KDZ for Romania isn't out yet (on lg-firmwares.com) so I can flash it with LG UP.

Hmm. Thought the 20p is only for at&t variant, different models shares the same update code name, that's new for me.

Hi!
I've checked for software updates with both LG Bridge and by going into the settings and checking for them, both have told me I'm on the latest version of current OS. I'm on h850, v20k-EUR-XX right now and I live in Sweden.
Very grateful for any help!

Yep, checked at lg-firmwares too and as you said, only GB version is on there. Guess I'll have to wait a bit. Thanks a lot though
No only G5, my dead G4's battery drained quickly when bluetooth is on, even when there is no BT connection at all.
flashed 20p on my Netherlands EU H850 which had 20k version. Please note that I could not successfully upgrade it so had to wipe entire phone (sd card data was fine).
as for me.... i see at the SS that the phone still drains the battery while not being used at night...
How can i get this upfate on my H860?

battery drain at night is also possible due to your cell signal reception quality, especially in a bad reception area this variable can drain your battery quite a lot.
nevertheless I noticed a significant improvement on this new 20p, I ordered a new battery a week ago and decided it was a nice point to start fresh with a new firmware.
was worth the couple hours I invested.
fingers crossed
They pushed out a 20n version, again in UK. Does someone know the difference to 20p?

Is it for different carriers? I just got 20N on my 3 UK phone
I'm on 20p and still have same problem. However I did update ota. I'll find 20p firmware and start a fresh. I had no issue on marshmallow. But nougat is smoother and nicer to use. I'd love to keep it. I'll try what you suggested and use LG up.
---------- Post added at 09:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:32 PM ----------
No I'm not. I'm on s firmware following more updates. Don't tell me s broke it again. Maybe I should just flash brand new firmware using LG up. The problem could be caused by updating ota.
So i installed latest 20s firmware using lg bridge and battery drain with screen off was 3 percent an hour. That means over 1/3 of your battery is lost with phone doing nothing. With my collection of apps phone only sleeps 40 percent of the time. I downgraded back to marshmallow and it's 90 percent asleep with same apps. Battery drain only 1.5 percent an hour. Can cope with that as using Bluetooth smart watch and lots off syncs. Interestingly the battery life of my garmin smart watch drops to 2 days when using nougat from 7 days when using marshmallow. But uninstalling garmins app and turning off Bluetooth only improves standby drain by 0.1 percent on the G5.
Nougat ok if you set location to GPS only
Back to nougat. It's just much smoother than marshmallow and heats up less. Seems the problem is the location settings. With this on GPS only and no WiFi scanning I get much less wakelocks.
It's made a whole day with 4 hours 30 screen on.
Can't complain at that. About what I'd expect given screen and battery size. Some of that transferring photo's over WiFi and playing games. Rest browsing the web.
