5.1 made performance in games awful - Nvidia Tegra Note 7

Im getting micro freezes now when i play games for 2,3 seconds... very frustrating as i didnt have this before this stupid updat.e.. anyone else have same worse performance ? what happend to better ? so far i have laggy games, it gets alot hotter yet performance is worse wtf ? im so mad now....

well for me Ive had the complete opposite result,my Advent Vega can now play Half Life 2 smooth as butter,I did a full factory reset before upgrading and wiped everything I also set my CPUs to maximum, all the top end games ive tried so far are running great (HL2,GTA SA,DQVIII,Portal)

i did a full reset now i am download all games again will check later.. hopefully that will help otherwise idk

[ICS/JB] Push It To The Limit!

I've found that on ICS ROM's specific games tend to look much better than on Stock ROM's without much of a sacrifice for general performance. However because the touchpads work better on the Stock ROM's it's usually better to go for one of them!
So, I've been trying to find a way to get similar looks on the Stock ROM's without much of a decrease in performance and with options to revert back if needed with ease.
As many of you may know, Chainfire3D doesn't really bode well with ICS or JB however I've got it running on MarkPython's Stock ICS ROM and I've got several games that would normally look extremely poor with very low textures to now look much better with not much of a drop in framerate!
NOVA 3 for example, looks terrible normally on this ROM. However with Chainfire3D and a plugin or two you can get it to look really good!
That being said, I have gone a little too far currently and made it look so good that it now plays for about 3 seconds before crashing! But hey, that's not the point!
What I'm trying to find out is, what combinations of modifications, apps and other things do you use in order to push your Xperia Play to the limit and get whatever performance it can get?
I guess clock speeds and benchmark results would also be a good thing to post so... I'm running at 1.6Ghz, deadline, performance/smartassV2. Best I've ever managed on Nenamark is 35.9 FPS and I currently have all games on FPSe running at 60fps at all times.
But how is the framerate on NOVA 3? If it's looking that good performance can't be great.
Yeah, on average with the standard textures the game provides you get a fair framerate... Which is somewhat consistant when the textures are higher too.. Hence why i was so confused when they're so low on the Stock ROM but not as bad on CM9.
Which is why i was trying to find the balance between the two with Chainfire3D...
Unfortunately it puts the textures up VERY high and makes the game look great! Downside is framerate is terrible and eventually the game crashes..
However! The Play can hand much better than what is set by the game.. What you're given almost makes my eyes bleed just looking at it.

Laggy gaming

Hello!
I got my g pad a few days ago and I got it rooted running xposed with greenidy and G2 modules with nova launcher. Antutu scored about 23600 and performence is pretty great excpet for one thing : gaming.
Most if not all Games are laggy, some start laggy and some become Luggy after a few seconds.
What should I do?

GTA San Andreas is laggy on my GPad then I tried to flash custom rom then the game became smooth on max settings
Mine also. i have several that freeze up but work perfect on a custom rom. Rayman jungle run and reckless racing 2 amongst others. kinda sucks as i like the lg rom.
I play asphalt 7 and 8 also real racing 3 and gt racing 2 with no problem at all.
That's true. But If a quad-core snapdragon 600 clocked 1.7ghz and 2gb of RAM can't handle a game smoothly then I think that's the optimization of the app's fault, not the hardware. My San Andreas also lags, at half resolution, medium details and 70% draw distance. That sucks : /. Order and Chaos Online is so laggy that it's taking away any joy from playing, while a LG L9 with 2x1Ghz handles it perfectly...... I think this is unacceptable that a flagship device has such issues

Is it laggy from the start or after a minute of playing? Seems that this tablet gets hot quickly and keeps throttling CPU/GPU
Real boxing lags for me sometimes. Other games like Riptide GP2, Injustice, and Modern Combat 4 all play perfectly though.
Those games are laggy:
BADLAND, Pivvot, Subway Surfers (A little bit), Rayman Jungle Run (Half of the time buttery smooth, other half laggy)
But after further testing I found out:
I also have games that don't lag: Modern Combat 4 (which is very demanding!), Zynga Poker (but a galaxy s wouldn't lag on that one), Lumber Jacked, Reaper.
I guess it's a compability issue, hope I could get better performence on AOSP ROMs (although I heard they have a gaming problem, maybe it will be sorted out soon)
Just installed latest cmb rom, all games are buttery smooth.
I laugh at lag's face now.
Only problem : pivvot doesn't respond to touch. Oh well, probably a 4.4.2 compatibility issue
it plays even intensive games like Asphalt 8: Airborne well, and nothing ever felt overly laggy. But stock KitKat clearly comes with a huge speed boost, and switching from one model to the other for days at a time, I always noticed the difference.

Is the S600 another model type of this tab ? Anyhow after a week of using the tablet and reading and using and Romming and ...you get it.I have noticed lags here and there w/ certain games , YouTube etc but Browsing is good. Gaming depends on what game you play Nova 3 lags a little not as smooth as N7 , Nitro Nation is fine lags here and there no biggie, injustice lags some,Dead Trigger 2 is OK doesn't really lag very much but I haven't installed the graphics mod either .Deer hunter stutters a bit,Respawnables, shadowgun super smooth online or off My experience so far.
Well I'm on Malladus 1.2.5, and I have absolutely no lag at all. RR3 runs perfectly smooth during the races (but the graphics seem to be in low settings everywhere, so that shouldn't come as a surprise), Angry Birds Go is equally good, and Asphalt 8 is perfect in high settings. I did have some lags on all of them while I was on stock though.
I also tried CM11, and apart from some games that just wouldn't launch, all of the above ran perfectly.

Could you two me about Malladus 1.2.5? Do all stock features work? Can you do apps to sd sym linking? Will this prevent lg app updates... How is battery life improved
Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
Yes, all stock features work if you flash the LG apps with the Rom. As far as I can tell, it's a custom stock rom, with a bit of optimizations and tweaks.
I don't know about SD sym linking. I'm assuming you're talking about Link2SD ability to create a link with your external SD card, and I can't see why it wouldn't work.
Battery life seems to be a bit better, but it could be a placebo effect.

[Q] [HELP]LG G2 (802) stuttering issues after 3 days of usage

Yo xda peeps i read a few threads about the LG G2 and its stuttering issues cuz my own device after like 3 days of usage since opening it started some very ****in annoying stuttering while scrolling and stuff.. Something i noticed is when i got the phone before installing any apps i ran the Antutu full benchmark thingie and i got a score of like 31k. After i noticed some stuttering when scrolling through facebook and just the phones own menu like not too much not too little just enough to annoy u i ran the antutu again and i got way lower results like 27-29k from like 5 tests.. i know benchmarks are dumb and stuff but thing is it was alot higher when i first opened it especially the CPU Integer, when i compare my own g2 to the one from the rankings i get HALF the integer thing of it like i get something around ~1700 from ~3100 the float point is also quite lower.. i installed like 5-6 apps all from trusted sources that cannot harm my phone.. almost no widgets running as well..
So i saw some threads including (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2474887&page=7) AND (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2479892&page=4)btw i did the thing from the last thread and IMHO it looks less stuttering now but its still quite noticeable so i mean its just that for a 3 day phone it got slow way too early so my question here is
WTF HAPPENED
and how the hell do i fix it also the thing i did from that thread with the cooling should i reverse that i mean i'm not planning on playing much games pretty much tho i dunno.
MY main concern with this whole deal is after i noticed it i ran the antutu benchmark and the fukin thing showed way lower results especially on cpu things for only installing 5-6 apps this is way too abnormal.. i havent even played games yet Q_Q

[Q] Hearthstone - does it run?

I'm not at home so I cannot test. I play hearthstone on the PC, however, I now one of you play it. Can you test for me and let me know if you had to overclock
http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en...tm_expid=68589644-24.yOgsCsWhSz-gOSDIbl82Wg.1
Thanks again.
I can confirm that it did work although it took awhile to get past the opening animation and load into the game. Once I was in I played a game and it went smoothly. only hung up on the ending explosion animation. Dragging cards out and press and hold for info on cards worked well. It isnt ideal and the absolute smoothest, but it worked well enough that I will be playing on tablet when I can't get out laptop.
Tried it on stock Lollipop and it was horribly slow and laggy. Loading a match took so long that I had already lost when it began. Pretty much unplayable for me.
This game is badly optimized....its just a card game with almost no animations....should run even on low end devices....was expecting a better work from a big company like blizz

Hello !
Tested with Slimkat 4 on F2FS, it was a little laggy, and even crashed one time due to animations.
Now I have overclocked the GPU to 520 Mhz, and everything works fine, much more smooth :victory:
(sorry for bad english, french here)
No problem at all with Nexus 7 2012 and Rastapop Android 5.0.1 F2FS. I have played 4 games in 2 days.

{help}All games and benchmarks locked at 30 fps .

Hello
I have recently bought nvidia tegra note 7 and updated it almost immediately to lollipop(5.1). But now all the games that i have played or the benchmarks tested seemed to be stuck at 30 fps max. Have rooted this device and
i have recorded the fps using gamebench .
games include nova 3 ,real boxing and even glow hockey doesnt seem to go above the 30 fps mark.
benchmarks like quadrant and antutu also gives 30 fps locked on graphics benchmarks.
I have tried to set this on max performance mode from that hidden settings(using activity launcher) but still no improvement.
is there a workaround for this
thanks in advance
I am running 5.1. I'm not sure if I'm locked to 30 fps. I don't think I am....
I don't think the hidden performance settings work on TN7. I think they only work for Shield Tablet.
Have you tried a full wipe? I'd also go into recovery and wipe there. 5.1 is quirky and you want to be sure you completely wiped the data and cache partitions.
Otherwise you could revert to 4.4. The performance settings definitely work on it.
