so I have ROOTED my Grand Prime already. I want to flash mods into my phone. eg, im planning to install audio mods that are flashed from the recovery. So I think I need a custom Recovery like CWM or TWRP.
then I found a video to install CWM on youtube
they use the odin software to install this recovery.
so my question is..
Will anything Happen to the root if I install CWM using this method?
or will any other problem wil happen?

You will not gonna lose the root, but you surely will trip knox counter by flashing custom recovery.
I have disabled knox after I root the phone. When opening SuperSu they asked to disable the knox. So i clicked yes.
Model of Your prime?
I was read about CWM on GP and some of people have a problem like bootloop or it shows that CWM is installed but after reboot all disappear and back to stock recovery
I'm still wating for any info about root my GP and for now....nothing useful yet keep wating

DO I HAVE TO ROOT MY PHONE TO INSTALL THIS STOCK ROM VIA CWM , AS GIVEN IN THIS LINK >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1758884
i think not since OP did not mention any root or SU privileges needed
but just to be safe,
root it
as per experience with installing different roms, from installing fresh stock rom which is not rooted to flashing custom roms. i was able to install it successfully. but just to be safe, root it as mentioned by deathnotice.
for me rooting 1st is prioterize cause example installing tweaks somekind needs root previlage... for me thats my opinion
There is no harm in rooting. That stock rom is rooted anyway
CWM Install
hi..
No you dont need root, just need CWM recovery installed..
Cheers

You don't need to root your phone to flash a custom or stock rom. The simple reason is that all custom roms are pre-rooted roms with superuser pre-installed and flashing of stock roms doesn't need rooting. Don't forget to back up your stock rom and kernel via cwm recovery if you didn't own a pc as a safety measure in case you wanted to revert back to it in the event of bootloops or otherwise. If you do have a pc, it is not necessary as you can flash back to stock rom and kernel via odin. If you don't know how to flash via odin search the forum for tutorial. In case if you don't have any odin flashable firmware package, it is advisable that you create a back up. Sorry for the long reply.

Stock ROM is possible to flash only by Odin.
Imho rooted stock doesn´t exist. You must root it after instal.
easiest way to to flash latest available rom for your region/carrier using odin, then root using towelroot. i'm using the latest uk btu which is still FNB8. I've tried loads but always seem to come back to this setup, it's the most stable for me.
If I'm understanding you correctly, you want to be able to root/unroot at will?
Easiest way I found is if you have custom recovery Philz. With this you can go into Philz setting, restore root and then install SuperSU from store. Then to unroot just choose "Full unroot" in SuperSU app and you're done.
You can also use twolroot to root the phone then install SuperSU to full unroot.....although I've found that this can take a couple of attempts of rooting/unrooting before the UNROOT will hold for some reason. At the moment I'm on totally stock ROM, stock recovery, but I rooted with towelroot to make some adjustments using xposed/wanam and to edit the snd_soc_msm files for louder music and remove bloatware using rootexplorer, and have now finally got unroot by rebooting/clearing cache at each stage of the process (i.e. when i root, when i install supersu, when i update the binary in supersu, then i reboot one more time once root is confirmed working, then full unroot and uninstall towlroot app and reboot/clear cache once more).
So now I have a sort of custom stock rom without root, sky go player working. Perfect setup until I get brave and a new update comes out.
::EDIT::
there are also pre-rooted stock roms in this thread,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250824
not sure if the procedure for unrooting would be the same though? or even if you can using these roms?
Been out from the flashing game for awhile. Can you guys please point me in the right direction? I want to root my g900f so I can uninstall all the crapware. No interest in custom rom at the moment. Also, my device had no warranty so do not care about KNOX.
Can you tell me if I am thinking of the right steps and order:
1. CF Root
2. Do a backup of some sort (nandroid?) I want to make sure that if I screw up with some app, I can get back to that same state, rooted.
3. Install CWM or any other recovery
4. Install titanium backup or any app in the playstore that can clean/disable bloawtare
Are those the right things to do?

The right order would be 1,3,2,4.
And if you have an older firmware (or kernel) like NE2 you can root with Towelroot and keep KNOX on 0x0. CF Auto Root will trip KNOX and maybe void warranty (depending on region).

OK, so
1. CF Root
2. Install CWM or any other recovery - what is the latest and best, is it still CWM?
3. Do a backup of some sort (nandroid?) I want to make sure that if I screw up with some app, I can get back to that same state, rooted. I do this using CWM (or whatever recovery?)
4. Install titanium backup or any app in the playstore that can clean/disable bloawtare
Will I be able to get OTA updates or from now on, I will need to flash only custom ROMs via CWM?

Yup. If you install a custom recovery you cannot install OTA`s. Flash the new updated stock rom with Mobile Odin Pro (with Everroot enabled) and you`ll keep root or flash a custom rom in recovery.
After installing the lollipop update I lost the rooting to the phone.
I rooted my phone again but to be sure for the next time,is there a way to root Lenovo a6000 plus permanently?
When u flash new rom, you have to root again, no way for permanent exept root option include in the rom
You wanted to root again hah? Flash SuperSU.zip (based on my knowledge stock LL cannot/hard to root withe root.apk like kingroot. So, i think the latest tricks is flash the supersu.zip) but still... if you are Advanced User if not dont trying it

For me root still work even on reboot. To root my phone, i flashed SuperSU.zip with custom recovery twrp. How about you? Did you using same thing like me or by apps like KingRoot.apk?

Yup obviously.. By SU... I never use kingroot... Well i know it shouldn't have happened... Btw fresh rom install will solve it.. But i don't wanna do that.. Setting up phone again and again suks.. I just asked it because i thought if you might have had this problem! Thanks btw
To clear things up. Think of root as a system module (binary) ("su" module located in "xbin"). Each time you install a new OS, core partitions need to be formated (/cache, /data, and ofc /system). If the SuperUser module is not pre-installed in the new firmware you are flashing, it can be additionally obtained through Chainfire's installation zip. Nearly all custom ROMs have it and will work just fine, with some needing user input to activate it (Settings > Dev Settings > Root Access). While stock ROMs will NEVER have root capabilities pre-loaded.
So, all in all:
No, there is no such thing and will never be, as permanent root. Everything is being overwritten all the time.
Rooting and re-rooting the A6000 is safe and easy.
So, i tried to Root my GF's I9506 with CF-Autoroot.
Safteynet fails and PokemonGo doesn't work, login problems.
I Unrooted trough SuperSU, restarted the phone a couple of times but PoGo still wont login.
She's on Stock Samsung Rom with Stock Recovery.
What can i do?
I was able to Re-Root with SuperSU for some reason. Had to update the binary tho. That's strange...
Shouldnt work if SuperSU unrooted in the first place?
Maybe it leaves files behind. If you're interested, there are ways to hide root from the game.
Anyway, the only sure way to remove root would probably be the flashing of a stock ROM.

Hmm. She really dosen't want to do a factory reset. so i guess i have to hide it then..
I think there are a few options i think all of them needs another recovery though:
Magisk + Magiskhide + phh
SuperSu, Suhide
Something called iSu.
Might it help to root again, remove anu "Su" files and folders trough ES Filexplorer? Then unroot from SuperSu?
If the phone is running a stock ROM, flashing a stock ROM usually leaves all of the data intact.

Removing any root file live might break root, which in turn won't let you remove any of the other files left.
Besides, you don't even know what files to look for.
Having a custom recovery won't affect her usage of the phone, nor the game. Besides, it gives you the benefit of making a Nandroid backup.
Ty for all the answers. So a custom Recovery doesn't trigger Saftynet?
Might as well install TWRP, backup and try to reflash stock rom from there.
Samsung Galaxy S4 International Qualcomm (jfltexx)
Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE Advanced i9506 (ks01lte)
Which one? i suppose its the 9506, flashhing my old CF-autoroot for my 9505(jfltexx) didn't work.
To flash a stock ROM, you need Odin, Samsung phone drivers, and the stock ROM from sammobile.com.
OK. But i'll do a backup on twrp first. Ty ty
Fixed it! Reflashed stock Rom with Odin and now Pogo works again!
Ty a lot for all the help. you guys are the best!
