I think there was a problem with lock screen pin, when it was enabled, sometimes the keyboard didn't come up or something like that.

Can you please confirm if 120fps recording is available on your 830??

Build 10166
Microsoft pushed Build 10166 of windows 10 mobile yesterday and boy, it has same stuff as mentioned by you. Have you received any new update? Just curious because Microsoft is pushing new features to developers first.

See a few details about WM6.1 here

Here are a few things you can see in WM6.1 (AKU 1.0.0 and AKU1.0.1)
Details for WM6 standard as well as Professional are given. Where nothing is mentioned, it means that it applies for both versions.
Will keep on giving out teasers in short bursts depending on the response
1) Users can now specify their default Home screen URL on Windows Mobile 6 Standard and on Windows Mobile 6 Professional.
2) DUN is backBy default, Windows Mobile 6.1 supports Bluetooth dial-up networking (BTDUN).
3) You can also specify an image to be displayed as the background image for the Recent Programs list
4) Windows Mobile 6 Professional now supports file locking with PIN 2, even when the device is unlocked.
5) Single-tap connection to open Wi-Fi networks is supported. This eliminates several configuration steps
6) Devices will no longer time out and turn off while the user is configuring a Wi-Fi connection. Power conservation time-outs will resume after you close the Wi-Fi Configuration dialog box.
Thats it for today. More later on
Excellent!
Keep droppin' em!
Yes, please keep them coming!
interesting but nothing to make me jump out of my chair.
how bout (for pro)
threaded texting like standard, any interface changes like standard, and new features in general added?
i am really looking forward for it
And how about replacing that dog's breakfast PIE!
beta release leaked would be nice?????!!!!!!!!!!
@all: WM6.1 is not really ground breaking (especially for professional). BUT there is a looooong list of things changed. But each and every change will make our life a bit more simpler. Plus there is a lot of visual refresh.
@kimsu19: I'll check out for the threaded texting. plus see if there are any BIG features...
@larsuck: couldn't get you man, sorry
@leoiden: its not a beta release .. But don't expect any leaks
However, there is a big reason for 6.1: Management. Microsoft has released a management and provisioning server, and WM 6.1 is the requirement for devices to be managed by this server.
TG.
Thanks for the info! Keep us posted on any more WM6.1 updates especially for the professional...
Can't wait to port it!
I really hope the WM6.1 will improve on memory management and garbage collection. At present, even when an application is closed (not minimised), very often WM6 doesn't release all the memory used by the application. So when the phone is used after a day, there are fewer free Program RAM available unless I do a soft reset. Hope MS will fix.

Are you running MSLive by any chance? I've had memory leaks like that, but currently, I no longer have it. What programs do you have installed?
PM me so we don't hijack the thread.
6.1 does have SMS threading. It also has its own task manager.
I can add
Yes it has threaded SMS, and when u reply/forward it asks if u hv permissions to do so.
Yes, own task manager.
RAM management is better.
Like Symbian 60, u have a device demo/Getting started option.
It will be nice if MOD or shantzg001 update the first post with all summarized new things in WM 6.1
my lil addition
PIE has improved zooming see below what i mean

A few confirmations:
1) Yes, SMS threading is there. The official word is:
"Updated the SMS message system so that messages to and from a particular correspondent display together in a conversational message thread."
2) It has a task manager.
New Info:
1) Updated Office Outlook Mobile and Internet Explorer Mobile to let the user cut, copy, and paste text between applications.
Note: Will update the first post with all the info tmrw
Bluetooth related Changes:
1) Improved automatic pairing of Bluetooth devices by immediately trying connections with common passwords, such as 0000 and 8888.
2) Updated the sample code for ring tones so that ring tone sounds routes to the main speakers, even when you are using a Bluetooth headset.
3) Improved Windows Mobile 6 Standard to let you set the local device name for Bluetooth. Windows Mobile 6 Professional already supports this feature.
4) Added support for Bluetooth Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP).
5) Updated Bluetooth pairing procedures so that if Bluetooth is enabled for a device and that device is not set to visible, the Bluetooth Visible message does not appear every time that you use the Bluetooth PAN. The message will display only one time after each restart. In some cases, the message will appear when the Bluetooth application closes and then restarts.

Also, does this work on QVGA devices?
Do you mind trying it again? Just go to http://www.careace.net/dialerace and scroll to the bottom for the download link. And it is not current compatible with QVGA.

This looks wonderful. Can't wait to see how well the algorithm works. Patiently n excitingly awaiting a QVGA version too.
How amazing this would be at 2AM leaving a bar when a list of all the favorite people whom you love drunk dialing to instantly appear only a touch away =P.
Some of you guys better watch out if your wife/gf/potential gf/etc opens up DialerAce late at night showing you all your booty call contacts hahahah.
Signing up now. Fortunately I don't have to wait as I have an i910.

looks nice - but how do i search for a contact which is not on the 16 contacts shown? (i have 1000 contacts)
Nice concept! Tried it on my HTC HD. Installed just fine, but I didn't get the 3d-view-button on top. The scrolling could be a bit smoother and some animations would be nice.
Cheerio
can we have support to port the application To QVGA 6.5.x roms ..i hope u must be getting what i am trying to convey..
fortunately this is really a Cool application which will change the way people till now used their age old Phone Dialer just to DIAL>
I download the Beta2 and right away upon launch it said it has expired.. LoL! What gives?

[Q] WP7 Update, possible on HD2?

Soon there will be an update released by Microsoft, which will add several features.
Will my HD2 (Live activated) be able to get that update directly, or is a new Rom necessary?
definitely won't be done directly
next to that
You are aware of the fact that when that update will be released, that your phone won't have the oppertunity to use Chevrons unlock software anymore.

I am aware, it is not such a big deal for me. The update will add Copy/Paste which is a more important future.
After the activation my HD2 is registered as an HD7. The update will be released by microsoft via a pop-up. But this will "brick" my WP7?
I think when the phone is live enabled it won't be a problem that chevron will not work anymore. The apps are installed from the marketplace and no side apps.
I would also be interested what happens when the update arrives.
You get a notification for the Update, but Updates are installed from a PC same as with WM6.5 or Iphone.
So I guess we will have to wait for a dump and new Installer from DFT. I hope the Activation keys will stay valid with the Update.
I'm really looking forward to faster app starts. Starting and resuming of 3rd party apps is way slow.
Why are you so sure that the update won't work directly? In fact the HD2 has virtually the same hardware as all currently available WP7 phones in terms of CPU, GPU, screen resolution etc. The update will come directly from MS so it is unlikely that there will be an IMEI check, new drivers and only OS changes. I don't really see a problem with the update if it doesn't go back to the bootloader but I'm pretty sure it won't go so far because MS are not going to mess around with the different bootloaders from HTC, Samsung, LG and Dell. Also bear in mind that the update MUST work with all OEM software and the operator bloatware
I wonder if the update will be mandatory and if MS will shut down access to Live if you don't update!
update probably means "new Rom"... and just like with wm6.5 will have to be flashed over your current rom, possibly they will add a backup function beforehand. so only question is whether or not DFT comes with a RUU equivalent of their DFI.exe so you can flash your own customized roms through magldr. remember there have probably been quite a few changes in this LEO70 rom like hardware key mappings etc. those do pose some difficulties in 'updating' your htc hd2 running wp7 as quite some things are incompatible with regular wp7 roms.

why should it?
i think the upcoming update wont be a problem for the hd2 users but just wait and see what happens
i think we don't need chevron.exe any more , we can dumb the update , edit reg edit to be hd7 ,and after that make the rom to be compitable with hd2 , that is all . chevron.exe is only needed for us to fake hd2 reg to be hd7 , we can do this reg edit to the rom dumb before inistalling it to the device , am i right

The software we have, it altered so it can run on our devices. (hardware buttons? anyone?) Any update can seriously mess that up of course
Though I don't know how they are going to push the update, we can't be sure of course.
WP7 updates are notified to the device via a toast notification. They are installed to the device via Zune i.e. the phone has to be plugged in to the computer.
If you check in Settings, it clearly says this. Or at least my (real) HD7 says that.

Except the hardware buttons! Remember the whole debacle about having the standard 3 buttons? An update coming directly from MS is not going to work. Period.
This is the bigger issue:

Updating OS's is the least of our worries. Changing the device name to gain access to the marketplace will be the bigger issue.
I'm sure the dev's will figure something out.
only thing i think we should know is if the keys will still work if we update via MS.

I can tell you from a fact and as an owner of an ZuneHD media player since it came as well as owning the first generation fat 32 gig brown Zune media player that they don't force any of the updates on you. Seeing how WP7 depends on Zune software it might be the same story when it comes to updates but don't quote of me on that
^ On the contrary Microsoft always forces updates! Take the Xbox Live for example. To play certain games its compulsary for you to update! To sign on to XBL from the XBox 360, its compulsary to update else access to Marketplace is blocked.
So Im pretty sure Microsoft would block access to Marketplace until we update. But lets just hope thats not the case

That's kind of reassuring. I would love to install the update on my HD2, but I don't want to be the first to try it - not after the issues getting chevron to work reliably, i don't really want to start flashing WP7 again from scratch, i don't really want to go back to android on my hd2 either.
I suspect the update will be like the iphone ones, a smallish patch on top of the OS, and so potentially do-able on a HD2. Also, the iphone doesn't lock you out of the app store after an update, but slowly certain apps will be updated and ONLY work on the new updated OS. I think this is how WP7 will go.
No more Chevron means no more going back and forth between WP7 and Android.
I think I'm happy enough with WP7 to say goodbye to Android.
I just wish they'd fix this battery drain issue. I was getting double the life in Android.

personally .. idc if i have to get it in a private message and it isnt posted online for the world ..
I am tired of not having an unlocked NODO focus ..
just because once you apprently install NODO and dont actually backup your backup file you get bonned and cant reset it back to 7004 or 8 ..
If Instagram were to create a WP7 app, now that they have direct access to the camera, would it work on current phones? Or would these apps only run on phones that have mango installed?
What I'm basically curious about is whether we have to wait until Mango before we see apps taking advantage of the new SDK, APIs etc.

Its been said there is a MANGO BETA version to download for free... out there. But where exactly is the download file so i can download it on my htc hd7 ? If however i new how to install it though.
Someone said you need to private someone for the file and another said you msut register for it. How could so when the actual thing is free to download it aniways ? WP7 dont force anyone to register or pvt someone for the mango beta version file aniways.

Just so long you own a Windows phone 7 and download it for your phone.

[NEWS] It looks like Windows 10 Insider Program is almost here!

just found this app in the store... http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/phone-insider/ed2b1421-6414-4544-bd8d-06d58ee402a5 published on 12/11/14
Looks like we will be seeing things soon on the Windows Technical Preview front!
And before anyone asks the obvious questions:
1) Can we hack this to get us new pre-release software?
No. It's pointing at the an Azure AD server that only allows for internal Microsoft domain users to sign in to it. It's also determining whether that user is in the Insiders program. Also, the web requests that show the available software and data to the user are authenticated requests which means that unless we have a valid auth token with Microsoft's Azure server they are using for this, we aren't getting anything.
It's assumed that they will possibly update this app before/on/maybe a little after the 21st and point it to the same server that's used to verify that your Live account is in the Windows Insider program (again, don't even think about logging in with your live account to this program because IT WILL NOT WORK).
I will say that this IS INDEED the app that will allow us to update to the Windows 10 for Phone Preview when it appears.
Damn I need to turn my Windows phone and check out that app in the store.
