PhoneArena reader reveal that the update takes care of a problem that results in the phone overheating when certain apps have been running for a long time. Other changes include an improvement to the touchscreen that allows it to be responsive even when using a thick screen protector. Visibility has been improved to make the screen clearer only in bright areas .

What the chances that the korean KDZ will leak and contain all fixes with support for all languages?

I have a Korean LG G4. If you know someone that would help me pull necessary files, I'd gladly do it.
I have a feeling I'm in the vast minority with a Korean specific LG G4 here on XDA, so the least I can do is help out while waiting for an exploit to unlock the bootloader and root.

So you received this update? If it isn't too much could you answer some questions?
1. Were you experience touch issues before? If so did this update fix it completely?
2 Do you notice the device heating up less?

I believe if u post this in the anroid development section, someone can help u pull the kdz

Didn't really notice any touch issues before, but the update didn't make me notice anything different regarding touch.
The device does indeed seem to not get as warm as it once did, but it does still get a bit warm during certain conditions.

Touch screen 2.0 brick.

Hello everyone!
I have a Dell Venue Pro for T-Mobile service. I recently happened to brick the phone using the touch screen 2.0 update. I have read through the forums for the past day and a half and saw posts saying that firmware can be flashed but if it's the touch screen 2.0 brick it wouldn't work. I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to computers or software.
I am at wits end because of this problem. I surely don't know what I am doing and Dell is of no help at all because my phone is 2 months out of warranty. The stock SD is still in the phone.
I would gladly be willing to donate to someone if they could help me with this. I would let them have remote access to my PC and do their thing. If anyone is willing, please let me know.
Thanks in advance!
Shawn
Buy a poor condition DVP with a cracked screen on ebay and swap the guts? Sell any salvageable parts, and hope to break even. That's all I can think of. From what I've read in the "how to unbrick your Dell Venue Pro" thread, it won't fix your problem.
I'll let more knowledgeable people offer their answers, but changing the hardware is an option.
What does updating your screen firmware actually do? Aren't updates supposed to be a good thing?...

Firmware updates (as apposed to rom updates) are very scary things since failures can mean you might not be able to fix it yourself.

Right, but are there any significant advantages by upgrading the firmware?

I think you need to ask about specific upgrades on specific devices. Obviously if there is a crippling bug that can be fixed by a firmware update, that would be a significant advantage. In this case, it was a terrible mistake.
In general, don't do it unless you have to.

[Q] LG G2 Android 5.1 Update

Hi guys! I just found this new and I want you to say me what do you think about it, if you think it's true or not, and such...

While I honestly don't care for official updates, I would be gladly surprised if LG did give this device a 5.1 (hopefully 5.1.1) update.
On the other hand, the website seems like a clickbait site, so see if you can find a more reliable source.
Why shouldn't lg give 5.1? 5.1 falls in 2 year support cycle

This phone was born with JB, we got KK and now LP
I think we wont get nothing else from official stock lg.
But Cyanogen,Paranoid,Aosp,Resurretion remix,Aicp,Slim,blisspop... And all stock modded and ports still under develop for years
In my opinion, the Lollipop 5.0.2 update brings some issues (like memory leaks, call problems) that can't be solved until the 5.1.1 update, so LG will probably be forced to push the 5.1.1 at some point in time. They can't leave their smartphones in a bad state for a last update.

We need somebody here to report they in fact received this update.
LG needs to push a new set of code for us to look at.
This probably isn't true, otherwise the forums would be buzzing right now.

Marshmallow H815520A available on LG Bridge for TWN

checked devtester http://devtester.ro/projects/lg-firmwares/country.php?country=Taiwan
and sure enough there's a new firmware when I checked LG Bridge.
No OTA notification for me yet though
if only we could root
Absolutely no interest in Marshmallow unless we finally get a bootloader unlock for the TWN variant.
Absolutely love my G4, but I have no respect for their decision to simply ignore the wishes of developers/people who want to use their phone how THEY want.
Poor form LG, poor form indeed.
Weirdly it was there Last night on my netbook but it refused to Work as it didn't have enough ram available. Today on Work computer it said no update available! Looks like they pulled it again
And when I tried again just there now again it's gone! Update withdrawn: AGAIN!
is there any KDZ available that we could flash using LGUP?

Same! I absolutely love my G4 but bcoz of this ridiculous decision of theirs I will never buy another one and will steer everyone I know away from them. The way they are carrying on you would think they were worried everyone in the world wants to unlock their bootloaders but it's only enthusiasts and devs, the very people they should be making happy as it's us that spreads word of mouth recommendations. Which is the best form of marketing. I updated to MM bcoz I've totally lost faith in LG and got sick of waiting for either them to have a change of heart or devs to come up with a solution (which LG will probably try and thwart). I'm joining the Nexus army!
i see the update available in mac versions of lg bridge but not the pc version. it goes through the whole download process and then the update fails on two separate macs. pretty frustrating.

Man don't even bother flashing marshmallow onto your phone. It's not what you think it is. I did flash using LGUP and what a mistake it was too flash the marshmallow kdz. You only get half the screen on time compared to lollipop. So hold of until they sort the issues out

Thank you for your advice.
It's much more smoother and no bugs that I encounter so far, a few days needed for doze mode to kick in. I highly recommend it, you won't regret.
I do think if they pulled it (or aren't ready to release and someone accidentally pushed it out prematurely) then it's for a reason. If they have it ready then why would they hold it back? I'll let them continue to bug test and i'll get it when ready. Lollipop is still fairly new and without better battery life I don't see the point of marshmallow at this point.

Pressurize Lenovo into fixing 6.x touch issue

Please take some time out to post on this (lenovo)forum:
https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/MOTO-G...nd/Moto-G-2nd-Touch-Delay/td-p/3318514/page/2
with the following info:
Also, we'd like to get some information about your phones. If you have ADB and know how to use it, please run the following ADB commands and report back the results.
adb shell cat /sys/bus/i2c/devices/5-0020/ic_ver
adb shell cat /sys/class/graphics/fb0/panel_ver
adb shell cat /sys/class/graphics/fb0/panel_supplier
This has been asked by a moto agent and she said on 27th may that it would be "evaluated by the engineers" but so far no reply. If you could please post on the forum with the info so that she could know that there are many of us who notice this bug. Maybe create a few new threads, too? Maybe with enough noise something might happen
For those who say "what bug, I don't know" try Local Warfare Portable from Play Store on 5.1 and 6.0.1 and see the difference. Besides games firefox scrolling is pretty messed up, I can't read an article properly on it.
Thanks
No news for now? Would be bad for Motorola to confirm an issue and do nothing to fix it.
I really don't think they'll provide any means of fixing this issue. This is not their flagship phone, and 6.0 will be the last Android support G2 will ever have. Even now beign Lenovo.
Google did the same thing by not acknowledging the Nexus 4 camera bug, their flagship at the time.

You are wasting your time mate! Lenovo does not and will not respond to any problems with these phones. Look at the the hardbrick issue affecting 100's of Moto G2nd users. They just don't give a damn!!!! I have a working Moto G2 but but it will be my 1st and last Moto phone ever unless they change their attitude towards us ... The end users.
We failed, lol
After seeing their support, I'm certain about not buying any Lenovo/Moto device again

The screen doesn't pick light/quick touches correctly. I recorded a video showing the issue a few months ago, here it is:
On CM13, doing a quick swipe to unlock the phone doesn't work correctly, you have to do a firm swipe. It's really annoying, mostly in some games like Vainglory (touch-based moba where quick taps are essential) and Pokémon GO (swiping to throw the pokeball doesn't work only you really press on the screen).

Confirmed, the issue is gone on Thea. Checking Titan later.
Update: I'm talking with LuK about fixing the issue, and if we can find the firmware for XT1072, he probably will get it fixed. Can anyone help?
Confirmed: the touch issue was solved. Moto needs to release kernel source now so custom ROMs can be fixed as well.
known when the update will appear on the ROM retail dsds.retaildsdsall.en.03 ??
now my system is up to date
Guys, so seems like LuK found how to fix the touch issues. The latest stock ROM (the one released a few days ago) updates your bootloader to version 0x4887, and that new bootloader fixes the touch issue. When I mentioned the new bootloader to him, he asked me to flash CM13 because it could fix the touch issues, and it did! So, for those who experience touch issues on custom ROMs, please flash the latest stock ROM to update the bootloader, and then flash CM13/14 to have your issues solved

Can someone upload just the bootloader for 1063 please? Poor connection with filefactory

Jeez. Luckly im in WETA Rom 10k update i dont think im planning to restore to factory just to move to 10p. I have the feeling LG will becoming like Samsung and the Knox system. Given the fact that they are already making the LG V30 to be more like the other flagships (no removable battery and all that) or we dont have to go that far, we can already see it on the g6. They are practically doing the same thing that samsung did. From Samsung galaxy s1 to s5 it was removable battery and there were some features that are not present anymore from the s6 to the present s version. Same thing with the Note series. Now if we take a look at LG, from LG G1 to G5 it was removable battery among other features that are not found any more from the g6 to probably the possible g version. Same thing happens with the V series. From V10 to V20 it is removable battery among other features that wont be found anymore on the V30. Rumors are there wont be a second screen on the V30 (and i thought that's one of the things that made the phone different from other flagships). But well... If they are making changes to external and some internal things to make it look like other flagships, why wouldnt they apply somethig like knox too new updates or for the brand new LG V30 about to come? . Lets see when the V30 actually comes out,

I might have the solution for root. But I need someone who can test it out for me.
If you are on "H91810p" and have your bootloader unlocked (if not I can tell you how to do it), let me know so that I can walk you through the steps. It going to be bit involved so not for first timers.
