I bought an S4 Gt-i9505 yesterday and today I already updated the phone to lollipop via odin. When I try connecting to the internet, I have to keep re-typing my wifi password. Is there any solution to this problem?

There is no such option as "save password". the only option available is show password and show advanced settings. I have checked advanced settings also but there is nothing which saves password. After every restart it ask for password for the same network which it was connected earlier.
can anyone please help on this? I have tried flashing the stock rom firmware but still that has this issue, Even if I update to latest patches I still face this same wifi password issue.
I have also tried editing the build.prop file (on rooted version) but that even worse the situation as it prevented phone from booting beyond the samsung animation and then i had no option but to download stock firmware and flash it.
Thanks

HELP,
My S5 forgets wifi passwords when wifi is disconnected... HELP ME please...
I have the last rom G900FXXU1ANG9.
My S5 doesn't have the problem you cite.
We can't see your phone though and you didn't provide any meaningful amount of information to help us narrow anything down. You should describe, step by step and in detail how you are connecting to wifi. And provide a description or at least screen shot of your wifi settings. Without that critical information it's rather hard for anyone to tell if you are missing any steps or doing something that has this effect.

SG5 Lost Wifi Passwords
Here is my dilemma. I've rooted the phone and looked at the wpa_supplicant.conf file with Root Explorer. Now when I connect to my router the network shows up fine. The psk number is not the correct number/password that I put in.
The line says: psk- 5391587b25ee56324ed273114c137303. When ever I put the correct password in this is what shows up.
When I reboot the phone I have to enter the correct password and it connects but doesn't save it in the psk I believe. It just shows up with a number like above.
I also have an Lg 8" tablet that I've rooted and when I look at the same file it shows the correct password.
Any help would be appreciated.
BTW when I disconnect from the router and leave the house and return the phone will connect to the router of course the wifi is on. When I turn the wifi off then back on or when I turn the phone off and reboot the next day I have to put the password in. When I looked at the psk again I get the above number.
Thanks in advance.

Trie to clear cache and dalvick and if dont work trie to install a New firmwere.
I don't know if this topic has already been covered. I didn't see it in a wick scan of the forum.
My S5 won't remember Wi-Fi passwords after I reboot. As long as I don't reboot, I can go from location to location and it automatically connects to wireless networks that I've connected to. But if I reboot, it makes me enter the password again.
Has anyone else had this issue? If so, us there a known fix?
I am rooted. I have tried forgetting networks and commenting to them again. As soon as I reboot, it's like I never connected to any networks. I have to reenter all wireless passwords.
I had the wifi password issue and battry life sucked. I cleared cache partition, the reflashed the ni2 firmware from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2842069
and now my phone "issues" are gone.
And my phone is back to lasting over a day.

I think you didn't flash the new Modem that go with your ROM
Explain?
I followed the destructions to the letter
Yeah this happened to me make sure that the rom you are flashing matches the firmware u are on. ie if u are on ni2 make sure u don't flash an nc2 rom vice versa.

I finally made another attempt at fixing it. I ended up restoring the phone to stock with odin and going through the whole root/update process. Its all good now.
Thanks for everyones advice and help
I've just updated my S5 to lollipop. Since then it won't remember any secure wifi networks if I restart the phone, so I have to type in my home router password everytime. It remembers open networks (restored them when I signed in to my Google account). When I put the password in it connects with no problems. Before I updated I didn't have any wifi problems. I've tried different routers/networks. I've tried factory resetting it and then not signing in to Google. None of that has helped. I've not been able to find any solutions anywhere, just people with similar problems. I'm on a rooted stock rom, 5.0.
Any ideas please?
Thanks
Hello, I have this phone with 5.1.1 O.S. with stock firmware "COK2".
I don't know why I have this issue that the phone doesn't keep the password and I need to re-insert passwords when I need to reconnect at network that I had already been connected.
What do you suggest me?
P.s.: please don't tell me to hit the hard reset to phone

Install some kind of wifi manager app.

I already use a Wifi manager, the WiMAN app, but Android should be hold the key password already inserted for the networks by default as it has always done.
I don't know why now I have this issue..

Since it is a stock rom it is obviously some error on Samsung's part.
I don't see any other solution than to factory reset. You shouldn't have such problems with the stock firmware.
Hi i am having a weird issue with my sprint S7. My mobile data is not working after the nougat update. the weird thing is the LTE icon is showing on top. And if i make a Wi-Fi hotspot the device connected to my hotspot does get internet access... if anyone can help or guide me, i will be grateful. thanks
P.S. i have checked APN settings, restarted and gone to air mode and back.
This reply isn't a help but ive had quite same issue but it's my wifi! It keeps disconnecting and reconnecting after the update. UGHHH and i hate the new font.
Had the same issue, update profile, update prl, perform hands free activation and restart the phone. Worked immediately after reboot.

can you link the theards with tutorial how to do this?
Same thing happened for me. I just rebooted my device and it fixed itself.
Data was working for me, but i couldn't send or receive mms. Mine was just a issue of making the domestic data available on the settings.
Don't know where tutorial is, just go to settings system updates and you'll see the profile and prl update options. Then go back to main settings and click active this device. Then reboot.
I tried everyones advise and my phone still isn't connecting to data.

Flash the latest firmware using odin. That should fix it.
