Hi everyone,
The security settings say I can encrypt my device and use a PIN to unlock the phone but it only gives me the option to use a password. Am I missing something here?
Thanks for any help!
BR
I'm having some annoying issues with my phone. For some reason whenever I turn on WiFi in my house, it won't automatically connect to my WiFi network or remember the password. I have to keep typing the password in every time. Is that normal? I'm using R.O.D.T Mystery Build Rom but it's just a stock debloated and governed tweaked ROM. I don't think any fundamental WiFi setting have been changed..
I was wrong:
"NOTE FLASH stock Mystery Kernel Below to fix Wifi Password forgetfulness issue with MB v1.1"
I don't know if this topic has already been covered. I didn't see it in a wick scan of the forum.
My S5 won't remember Wi-Fi passwords after I reboot. As long as I don't reboot, I can go from location to location and it automatically connects to wireless networks that I've connected to. But if I reboot, it makes me enter the password again.
Has anyone else had this issue? If so, us there a known fix?
I am rooted. I have tried forgetting networks and commenting to them again. As soon as I reboot, it's like I never connected to any networks. I have to reenter all wireless passwords.
I had the wifi password issue and battry life sucked. I cleared cache partition, the reflashed the ni2 firmware from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2842069
and now my phone "issues" are gone.
And my phone is back to lasting over a day.

I think you didn't flash the new Modem that go with your ROM
Explain?
I followed the destructions to the letter
Yeah this happened to me make sure that the rom you are flashing matches the firmware u are on. ie if u are on ni2 make sure u don't flash an nc2 rom vice versa.

I finally made another attempt at fixing it. I ended up restoring the phone to stock with odin and going through the whole root/update process. Its all good now.
Thanks for everyones advice and help
I bought an S4 Gt-i9505 yesterday and today I already updated the phone to lollipop via odin. When I try connecting to the internet, I have to keep re-typing my wifi password. Is there any solution to this problem?

There is no such option as "save password". the only option available is show password and show advanced settings. I have checked advanced settings also but there is nothing which saves password. After every restart it ask for password for the same network which it was connected earlier.
can anyone please help on this? I have tried flashing the stock rom firmware but still that has this issue, Even if I update to latest patches I still face this same wifi password issue.
I have also tried editing the build.prop file (on rooted version) but that even worse the situation as it prevented phone from booting beyond the samsung animation and then i had no option but to download stock firmware and flash it.
Thanks
Ash

Hello!
My Oneplus 5 does not connect to any wifi networks. It is able to see all wifi networks in the range, and is also able to save the network if the password entered is correct, however, it won't actually connect to any network that is saved. I have tried using advanced options while connecting to a network to change from DHCP to Static settings, but it still won't connect to any network. I have also tried changing the wifi band frequencies (2.4 and 5 Ghz individually) to connect to a network but that too does not help. Mobile Data and carrier signal on the other hand work flawlessly, and so does bluetooth connectivity, NFC and personal hotspot (which is why I am very confused). I should also mention that when it fails to connect to a saved wifi network, it occassionally displays "Disabled" under the network SSID (replacing "Saved").
I have changed 3 different ROMs (LOS, stock OOS and No Limits ROM, even replaced the stock kernel with blu_spark r69 when I tried using No Limits and stock OOS to try and see if that fixed the problem), but the phone just won't connect to any detected/saved network using any of those ROMs. I have reverted it fully back to stock now (OOS 4.5.14 and stock kernel and stock recovery) and am still having the same problem.
Sorry if this issue has been solved before and if I am reposting something, but I really need this fixed ASAP and am not able to find a working solution after searching the forums and googling the whole day. Please help me! Thanks!
Edit: finally fixed the problem thanks to Ivints and PeterGuru. Check out the post that Ivints linked below (especially the comments in page 2 of the same)

Thank you so much Ivints! I'm trying to fix it right now with the solutions I got from the post.
I'm having exactly the same problem that the guy who started that post had. I'll let you know when I fix it and everything goes well again! Thanks again, bud!
if you want to stay on Nougat look for the O2N revert flash file it's in the Oxygen 5 beta threads that will let you get back to a nougat based rom.
The Oreo update touched other partitions outside of /system so those wifi drivers don't work with Nougat anymore

I see... I'll look for that thread and get the flash file! thanks! I'm currently using xXx's No Limits 9.2 OB03 ROM with bluspark 3.2.1 recovery and bluspark r77 (Oneplus 5). The only reason that I feel like reverting back to Nougat is that I want to be able to use Xposed again. So i guess I have that option in hand not too! Thanks, bud!
Hello there my friends, i have a problem with my op5
its about wifi: it doesn t see my wifi anymore. idk why
it s been connected to this wifi 2 years ,even after switching roms kernels, firmwares
and now , it doesnt see the wifi no more, actually it sees it, in `Saved` section, but when i press on it to connect
it says ` not in the area` but my other op6 its connected no problem
and i even tried through qr code, it says ` check ur connection and try again`
Just one add-on cause I was just a few minutes away from formatting my data. My OP5 unlocked rooted, rest stock, wasnt connecting to my home wifis (2,4ghz and 5ghz). I flashed a full ota zip. I deleted wifi bluetooth via backups settings.
But I found out that connecting to an iphone hotspot worked. So I entered manually the network SSID + password although the same network name was already in my wifi list (with marking: "saved"). I then clicked on the second "new" same wifi and it directly connected to my home wifi. Same happened to the 5ghz network. I then deleted the old 2 ones.
I have no idea why this happened, I only tried to get VoLTE/Wifi Call running with the magisk module. This might changed sth but I dont get the connection here since there should be no interference...
