Hi i am having a weird issue with my sprint S7. My mobile data is not working after the nougat update. the weird thing is the LTE icon is showing on top. And if i make a Wi-Fi hotspot the device connected to my hotspot does get internet access... if anyone can help or guide me, i will be grateful. thanks
P.S. i have checked APN settings, restarted and gone to air mode and back.
This reply isn't a help but ive had quite same issue but it's my wifi! It keeps disconnecting and reconnecting after the update. UGHHH and i hate the new font.
Had the same issue, update profile, update prl, perform hands free activation and restart the phone. Worked immediately after reboot.

can you link the theards with tutorial how to do this?
Same thing happened for me. I just rebooted my device and it fixed itself.
Data was working for me, but i couldn't send or receive mms. Mine was just a issue of making the domestic data available on the settings.
Don't know where tutorial is, just go to settings system updates and you'll see the profile and prl update options. Then go back to main settings and click active this device. Then reboot.
I tried everyones advise and my phone still isn't connecting to data.

Flash the latest firmware using odin. That should fix it.

Hi all, I'm new to the forum and need some help. I have an MF3 rooted GS4. Last night I did a factory reset and after going through the process, I received a message that said com.android.phone process stopped working. I tried to make a call and had no issues. I was also connected to home wifi so no data issues. Today I added ATT visual voicemail (worked before the reset) and couldn't get an authentication and it said check APN. I go into that and notice the settings are gone and there is no option for Phone or ATT - I also can't access any 4G LTE data. I found some APN settings, entered and then it worked. I then did one more reset to ensure all was well and start from scratch and the processed stopped message showed up again.
Edit: this also shows up each time I restart the phone. Eventually goes away and LTE Data shows up.
Why does the process show up after reboot? Is there anything I can do to make the error go away? Anything wrong with using the APN manually entered if it works?
Thanks for any help you can provide
So I found out that the APN settings stick and I have LTE, but the error shows up twice on each reboot. Hoping someone can help me to get this fixed.
[Q] Unable to Update PRL & Profile on S4: "Session in progress try later"
I bought a used Sprint Galaxy S4 (Android 4.4.2, NAE, SPH-L720) intending to activate it with Ting. I stupidly decide to root it before activation because I didn't think it would cause complications. During the final step of activation, I was told to update the PRL and Profile but when I tried I got the message "Session in progress. Please try again later". Now my phone is able to make/receive calls and texts but has no 3G or LTE connection.
I rooted it using towelroot then got rid of fwupgrade.apk and odex and renamed otacerts.zip to otacerts.zip.bak because the update messages kept appearing and it got annoying. I did not back the fwdupgrade.apk because I didn't think it would affect the function of the phone. Later, when I tried to rename the otacerts.zip.bak file back to otacerts.zip using root browser to see if it would make a difference, it said operation fail the file name couldn't be changed.
My question are 1) did the files I uninstall prevent the PRL/Profile updates from functioning and 2) is the fact that they aren't updating the reason I cannot access mobile data on Ting/Sprint network?
My phones current status says I am on the Sprint LTE network and that I have service, but my Mobile Network state is disconnected.
Any advice on how to get my PRL/Profile update working would be greatly appreciated!

Some research will tell you that prl means preferred roaming list. And profile is your data profile. So data isn't working because of your data profile. Search around about that and you shall be good.
Step 1 always research before asking

I do know what those things are. My problem is I am unable to update my profile and I can't figure out the cause. I thought I made that clear, but I guess not.
Once again my question is if there's anything I did during root that could be preventing profile (and in this case also prl) updating now? All I want is to be able to update my profile but I've been unsuccessful in finding a method that works.

Have you tried a ##72786#
Do you have adblock installed and active by chance? I had the same problem. ... for some reason, adblock was interfering with the prl and profile update process. I temporarily disabled it and both prl and profile updates worked right away

Yes, the SCRTN screen came up and then froze. I had to reboot. Tried it several times and it never worked.

No adblock is not installed. I just got the phone so all I've done is delete some bloatware and the fwupgrade, apk and rename otacerts.zip

Did you ever figure out the root cause of your issue? I am experiencing the same issue and am trying to do these types of updates too. However can't because of the same message.
I have a PRL question. If I change the PRL will that change my data connection when roaming? Here is the thing, I'm working out of town and can rarely get a good data connection but a friend on att has great data. Will changing the PRL help?
I am having the same issue.
@cfos
Factory Reset solved this problem for me.
Settings->Accounts->Backup and Reset
WARNING: you will lose data so backup everything first.
First try clearing cache in recovery, then reboot to see if that clears it.
Now if I can just keep the SIM from locking up.
I don't know if this topic has already been covered. I didn't see it in a wick scan of the forum.
My S5 won't remember Wi-Fi passwords after I reboot. As long as I don't reboot, I can go from location to location and it automatically connects to wireless networks that I've connected to. But if I reboot, it makes me enter the password again.
Has anyone else had this issue? If so, us there a known fix?
I am rooted. I have tried forgetting networks and commenting to them again. As soon as I reboot, it's like I never connected to any networks. I have to reenter all wireless passwords.
I had the wifi password issue and battry life sucked. I cleared cache partition, the reflashed the ni2 firmware from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2842069
and now my phone "issues" are gone.
And my phone is back to lasting over a day.

Hello, I am from Spain and I have the same problem and I can not find a solution.
It might sound a bit obvious but check your APN, after one update my APN was wiped and I had to manually put it back in again, I'm UK on SKY.
I have the same problem. Can't find a solution anywhere. Sucks.
same problem, we need to back to Oreo?
I went back to Oreo, changed to a custom rom, replaced the antenna, and nothing ...
And obviously before all this check the APN
ridiculous
It is a ridiculous situation.
What is APN ?
Please Email

you can install the February update then reboot your cellphone if it works, congratulations on your efforts. if that case still continues you can reset your network card from setting the signal reset, bluetooth and wifi, and then reboot ... and enjoy your repair effort If it's not sweet enough, you can reset your phone's factory and reboot. enjoy it.

This issue is still not resolved after the March update which I waited 6 weeks for.
A phone which cannot make or receive calls?
I would never, ever by a xiaomi phone again.

Hi There, I'm facing the same problem here, let me share how I fix mine, maybe it would help your problem too.
My device was on the january patch and Pie ROM, I've mod the camera API and I cannot receive the OTA updates. yesterday I manage to lock the OEM via ADB/CMD so I can get the OTA (This was a mistakes since you can't lock the OEM while you have your system modded). My phones showing "system has destroyed" message after.
I'm panic and what I've done next is I unlock the OEM and flash it with the only fastboot ROM I have, which it was the Oreo ROM. My device can boot normaly, loosing the mobile signal (I've tried to switch the SIM Card and it still the same, I've check the IMEI and there is no problem with it), and every time it restarted, the device going to a bootloop.
the next thing I do is download the Pie Fastboot ROM I got from this thread and flash it via Mi flash.
I flash it using the "clean all and lock" method. Lucky me, after the phone booting up, I can see the signal bar again and there is no problem in receiving calls or SMS.
Hope this can help
