LG G4 T-Mobile users... - G4 General

Are you feeling like LG got one over on you? With the new T-Mobile jump program introduced today you can now jump 3 times a year, no cost. Badass.

Not in the least. I hated the Note 4, think the S6 looks like a larger iPhone6, could never deal with the underwhelming camera on the m9, and frankly would never own another iPhone. That didn't leave me with many options when I got to the point where my options were 1) I was going to use JUMP to get away from my Note 4 or 2) I was going to throw my Note 4 at the wall.
So far, I love the G4.

You're basically paying the same amount of money, but you no longer have phone insurance.

ummm...I have phone insurance with Jump...it's included, but I don't care to be able to upgrade early at no cost. I will pay my phone off early & have my bill back down to where it used to be.

If you're already active in the existing "JUMP" program, you don't lose that. It's only on new one. I guess I'm glad I have the older JUMP.

If you're already an existing JUMP user, you don't get to JUMP On Demand. You have to pay off your phone and then sign up with JUMP On Demand with your new phone. Which will no longer have insurance unless you want to pay an extra $8/mo.
If JUMP On Demand included insurance or at least let current JUMP members switch to it right away, it might be a bit more appealing. As is, meh. I'll pass.

Exactly. I feel the same way...having existing JUMP, I don't feel like paying off my new phone I got 2 weeks ago. Besides, I doubt I'll be upgrading from this device this calendar year. I'll stick it till 2016 and see what everyone brings to next year's party

I'm a new t-mobile customer as of this phone. What exactly am I missing out on with the new jump program? I think I'm still within my 2 week period and can make the change still. What's the benefit?

Nothing...smoke and mirrors. It's actually a reduced version of the old JUMP program. You lose the device protection, but can JUMP 3 times a year or something. Same price tho...10 bucks. Better off on old plan if you have it

My 2 week period is over Saturday, im considering returning it and rebuying with the new JUMP.
I always envied JUMP1 and hated everything about JUMP2. JUMP3 is every bit as good as JUMP1 with the option to waive the $10 fee if you feel you can do without insurance.
I challenge anyone on JUMP1 explain how it's better than JUMP3?

Now after reading further, I understand your point.
Truth be told, JUMP 2 (which I'm currently on) is really a bit of a ripoff. I am not clumsy with my device, so I don't need the protection, I don't use Lookout, as I find it just alerts me to every site I am going to as being "safe. And then comes the "Jump" I did to get the G4. I had a Note 4. Owed right about $600. I pd $280 to bring device to half price (after paying $10/month for the 6 months I had the phone). So, $340 out of pocket. I could have sold phone on swappa for $450-500, costing me $100-150 to pay off the phone out of pocket. #IntelligenceFail.
Looks like I'll be cancelling my JUMP 2 program LOL.
So, LG didn't get one over on me....T-Mobile did....DOH!

Was going to get the G4 the other day from T-mobile, but will wait to get it with On Demand. It's the same cost as EIP and there is no $10 fee like regular JUMP. Set myself up to use On Demand in a few months for the rumored LG Pro G4.

Each time you upgrade, you have to put money down again, and the money you put down previously, doesn't roll over to the next phone you get, so it doesn't seem worth it to upgrade that much, unless you have great credit, and don't have to put anything down each time, Im almost done paying off my G3, after that, I may get the G4, or wait until fall and get the G4 pro, or whatever it'll be called,.

You don't have to take it back if you're still in your grace period.
Just call them up and have them add Jump On Demand or switch from Jump to Jump on Demand. I did this yesterday.

Call 611. I purchased my G4 online....

Just FYI, i was told by a salesperson that if you have the original JUMP, NEVER<EVER<EVER<EVER change it, no matter the wording of anything new that comes out,the original JUMP the best plan they will have now or in the future. Just what a T-Mobile sales rep told me. This was prior to this new plan, but if you are an original JUMP member i would think twice before changing, just research it well and make sure its the right choice.

I'm impressed he could see the future. I'd ask him for stock tips too....
No plan is prefect for everybody - research is always good but a blanket statement like that with no idea what the future holds is a little naive.
I was on the fence about leaving the Nexus line when I went to the G4 so I added Jump. This new leasing plan is simply a better piece of mind plan for the next 6 months as the new Moto X, rumored LG G4 Pro and the next Nexus are announced. I'm happy to lease phone(s) for the next 6 months and sort it all out then....that't the beauty of t-mo. I can always opt out and purchase outright.

Atrix for $199 or wait for a different phone?

Hi, I am new around here. Been lurking around for a little while.
I recently lost my iPhone 3Gs so I have been looking around to replace it with an Android phone bc I am kinda bored of iOS.
I dont have an upgrade til at the end of the year so I decided to call the customer relations and see if they can work out something for me. I remember reading in a "how much did you get your atrix for?" thread where the guy said he was leaving unless they gave him a killer deal and got his for $130 +$180 in credit and no renewal of contract which is hard for me to believe. I tried and the best they gave me was $199 with extension.
I am having a hard time deciding whether to move to verizon or t-mobile but they dont have any phones that i am interested in at the moment although it seems like there will be some interesting phones on the way soon.
but I need a smartphone again ASAP bc the 'dumbphone' is makin me feel dumb.
Would it be worth it to try to hustle them a bit more for a better deal or just move on to a different network? I thought they'd give me a better deal since i been with them for a decade now but i do think $199 for the atrix is still pretty reasonable. It is just that I can always use a better deal.
Sorry if this thread is pointless but any input will be appreciated. Thanks.
$199 for an Atrix off-contract is a killer price considering that you can still take your business elsewhere and get at least $400 on ebay for the Atrix if you decide to move.
that's a great deal! go for it, you'll love the atrix
awesome deal
worst case u can still sell it on craigslist for 450+ and u are not in a contract
Honestly... I'd hold off for another month or so and wait for the SGS2. The atrix is a good phone. I jumped on this bandwagon a little early and regret it; I'm waiting for the SGS2 international (I-9100) and jumping ship as soon as it's out.
Don't get me wrong though - if you're not a tinkerer then this is a great phone. And coming from an iphone I assume you don't care about the phone being locked up seeing as how that's Apples M.O. It could be a good phone for you but personally, I want to customize it more than I'm currently able to.

Isn't the SGS2 International like $950 off contract lol.
Yep that's a great deal!!!
It is great phone and hopefully in couple months or sooner the boot loader will get crack which im hopping for it because that will unlock tons more enjoyment from it and with the docks imagine what you can do with those. And even Motorola might even release something or unlock the boot loader when they see sales going down because everyone wants too unlock the full potential of this device!!
I got the atrix laptop dock also which is pretty nice but it just needs a bit more speed.

So I read this as, $199 for a 2 year contract (EXTENSION)..
That's the same as everyone else.. How is that a good deal?
you can get atrix for 119 in costco.

i was about to say the same thing
i was about to say the same thing. bought it few days ago for $120. The good thing is if I dont like the phone I can return it within 90 days without any charges and if something good comes by then (lets say Iphone 5,6 or whtever)..all I have to pay is the difference which is $80...
the price is with contract extension so basically the same price anyone can get. I just said that they would give me the contract/upgrade price now instead of waiting until the end of the year when I will be "eligible" for an upgrade. My bad for the misunderstanding. I'm not sure if I will be able to get the costco price since I can't get it for $199 even from the corporate store. As far as i know, AT&T will only allow me to get it at a discounted price through the customer relations department.
I guess I'll try if I can have the customer relations put a note on my account so that any at&t carrier can see my eligibility.
Hell, you should just buy it outright for the price; if you don't like it you can just sell it for 400+.
The phone is great though, I only took mine back because of the locked bootloader, the galaxy s 2 is coming out, and I just got bored with it.
Amazon's web store has it for $149. You'll lose your unlimited data plan if you have one, but I read that if you badger them enough they'll give it back to you.
That's what I'm going to try anyway!
do you mean if you get it from amazon?
Yes, they force you to change your data plan. Last night I found out you can also get that price at Radioshack, but I don't know if the data plan hassle remains.

I bought mines from radioshack and yes i was forced to convert to one of their new DATA plans, After the changes were done i called up at&t to have my unlimited databack. They submitted a case to their so called "BUFU dept" and they switched my unlimited back in 3 days.
Keep in mind i called before the changes and confirmed that they will put back my data plan
Got mine at Radio Shack for $149. No hassle at all with data plan or setup. Took less time than it typically does at an ATT store.

Best Buy Exchange's

Any have experience exchanging phones within theyre 15 day period before. I have always had bad luck with best buy and cell phones, ei.. screwing up my plan. I did an upgrade reversal once and it was a nightmare. Any way i want to go in on the 10th and exchange for a 32GB s4 and i asked the guy if its as straight forward as swap one for the other and pay the difference and he said ya but im still skepticle it will actually be that easy.
Anyone have any experience doing such a thing..

Nothing is ever easy at Best Buy which is why I haven't spent a cent there in over 2-years..
I'm actually surprised they haven't went out of business yet..
Sorry I can't answer your question but my guess is that it will end up being just as you suspect... A mess!
I usually buy phones there Cuz the 50$ gift card thing but after my experience just trying to purchase my s4 and two hours later a f'ed up plan ( deleted family text ) the saving are not worth it. After exchanging for the 32GB I'm done with BB

Will they really take a phone back if you had it that long?
Obviously you're limited if you buy it under contract but if you buy it retail ($749) it's yours and that return plan should be effective. We're also silver too and noticed 60 day returns are allowed!
As a Silver Rewards member too, I returned my launch SIII at day 59 just to get a fresh one, since the launch one had a slight issue with the volume buttons being loose - they would actually rattle when the phone vibrated! Since I'm not a complainer like so many others for the tiniest bit of lag they see on a 1.9GHz quad core PHONE (remember when desktops weren't even that powerful?), I didn't make a big deal out of it, but just went in before my 60 days ended last year and swapped it out.... I'm going to do the same thing this year for a 32GB S4 IF they aren't launching with some kind of prevention to the bootloader unlock!
People either love BBY or hate it, but if you aren't smart enough to have saved $50 at launch on the S4 like I did with the Phone Freedom deal they did again this year (saved $50 at launch on my SIII too), then you must enjoy spending more for the exact same thing! I can't complain about the 60 day return policy either compared to everyone else's at only a quarter of the time to know if this is the device you want to keep for the next 2 years on contract.....
Best buy is a nightmare to deal with. I have had nothing but bad experiences with best buy. I hope they go out of business soon.
I used phone freedom which is why I purchased from bb. Most likely going to exchange for the 32 as I keep looking at the available internal storage and it bothers me even though my 16gb N7000 sufficed for a year ... decisions

Good luck. Back in the day I was with my buddy at bestbuy, he was upgrading to the black berry curve when it first came out. Of course the rep was trying to sell the extra warrenty. They told us that there's no deductable and it covers everything including water damage. They actually had a small fish tank on the desk with a razor sticking out of the tanks gravel...there was a sign in the tank that read "does your insurance cover this?" They even told us we could smash the phone right in front of them and theyd give him a new phone. He bought the ins and a few months later he had a problem. Brought the phone in for inspection. They told us there was nothing they could do due to water damage. He was like I dont think so. They repeatedly told us they had no such policy...I than took out my bad ass black jack 2 and said "are you sure about that". Of course I took a picture of the "non exsisting" fish tank. He got a new phone and that was the last business either one of us had with Best Buy.

Not everyone is so broke that they want to put up with Best Buy just to save a few bucks.
I'll spend my cash elsewhere, thank you!
Purchase from Sams Club or Costco and you also get the extended return / exchange times..
I have no interest in setting foot in a best buy store and would still buy elsewhere if they were offering the phone for .99 cents..

Okay, moneybucks, no one said I was "so broke" I had to put up with BBY, I have had good experiences with them and enjoyed going back again this year.... last year I paid cash for the SIII at full retail (well, minus the $50 for Phone Freedom), off contract, so let's not go around speaking for other people's financial situations when the real story is that they haven't had any issues with BBY in the past....
It should be easy, I remember I switched out my hox+ for an s3 and it all went smooth. The only thing about best buy is the lines are freaking so long! I think it's a good idea to go switch your 16 for a 32 if you're under the 15 day period. i am too but i just don't want to wait. just got an invisible shield put on today and everything on my phone is so organized i don't want to redo everything. i went and got my s4 the other day and i told them i didn't want to spend too much money on accessories and the employee got my phone and typed into my messaging app that he was gonna do a price match with walmart and save me $20 bucks and that he couldn't say it out loud around other customers. that made my day lol

T-Mobile Jump! Cancel

Merry Christmas!
Hey guys, I've been thinking about canceling my Jump! service, I just do not see the benefit beside protecting you device. I just want to see who have it, and why you want to keep it. Or those that do not have it and why you didn't bother signing up.
I have it and my carrier insurance actually dropped 2 dollars a month so I figured, why not? I do like it though. Out allows me to continually get new phones. I tend to get board with a phone to a degree after a year or so. For me it's pretty good. You just have to get over the fact if you keep jumping, you'll never really own a phone. Sort of leasing a phone.
Merry Christmas
I'm very fortunate to have the opportunity to switch to a new phone every year, so I thought JUMP! makes sense. The insurance and Lookout Premium is a nice addition.
I been paying into jump for me and my wife since it started. Just upgraded both of us 2 weeks ago to two note 4's. In 6 months Samsung will have new phones with Playstation Now. I saw an aluminum billet cut out of a new Samsung phone, kinda curious to see what the final product looks like and how the Playstation Now runs on it. If I like I will wait for unboxing youtube video and maybe I jump.
Sent from my SM-T800 using XDA Premium HD
I use mine for insurance purposes only, I end up buying phones every 4 months or so, so basically the upgrading isn't worth doing for me, plus its a waste money to lease a phone and not pay it off imo.
It all depends and it's all in the numbers. It's a number game. If you have it only for insurance, do keep in mind that there's a deductible. For a high end phone like the Note 4, it's like $175 or something. If you're using it to upgrade, make sure your phones not almost paid off or it won't be worth it lol. Or if you're required to put down a big deposit, jump isn't worth it. Do the math. Crunch the numbers...
Well I have the first JUMP package that was released (grandfathered in). I love it because it lets me upgrade every 6 months. I get bored of devices pretty quick, especially with all of the devices that get released. Best thing to ever happen to a carrier.
Sent from a potato.
I also have the first JUMP package. It's pretty great deal.
If u have jump 1 keep it if you have jump 2 get rid of it. Not worth it for 2 if you swap out phones a lot
BAD ASS NOTE 4
Can you please elaborate. I felt the Jump 2 was just an enhanced version of Jump 1 (Jump 2 just allows you to upgrade whenever you want). Jump 1 allows maximum 2 upgrade a year.
I feel the Jump is worth it if you are upgrading your devices every 6 months, based on my rough calculations.

If you are on payment plans you must pay off device by 50% if you wanna jump. With jump 1 it 6 months no matter how much you owe.

Wow, T-Mobile rep explained me Jump 1 way differently, stating that half the device value would still need to be paid, lol. However, from the way you describe it, Jump 1 would have certainly been better in this case. The T-Mo rep also stated that customers can choose between Jump 1 or Jump 2, I call that BS.
Even paying 50% of the device is still worth it (whether you wait one year or 6 months) because every non-Apple device depreciates fast.

I agree. Seems like T-Mobile being a true carrier once again (or were they always; like they give a sh!t).
So, if I was a T-Mobile customer a year ago, and chose Jump 1 then, it would have been worth it.
Once you upgrade with Jump 1, customers are required to continue with Jump 2 or simply remove Jump from their account.
T-Mobile is slowly giving us chills. Lets see what they reveal to us next year; will they stick to their plans for the better? #CoverageMyA$$
I'm really looking forward to a bright future for T-Mobile. Better not be one of those companies that fall bankrupt after a major flop. Do they even have the integrity? Can they sustain their building reputation? Who knows...

This is not true. If this happened to you then some sneaky rep in the store must have switched you. I just upgraded this week. I am still on jump 1. I even called them before I left the store to verify. The ONLY way you lose Jump 1 is by 1) Switching to Jump #2 or 2) Leaving T-Mobile then coming back. Thats it. Also when I log into tmobile it says I can jump NOW. That would not be possible on jump 2
Well, I never said T-Mobile was a good company anyway. Most of their store clerks are unprofessional, arrogant, and ignorant anyway. The other day, a female customer lost all her text messages on the phone as it was erased by the store rep without authorization by her; no backup to be found. T-Mobile should wake up; their Uncarrier move isn't all that great as I once thought. I don't mind the changes between Jump 1 and Jump 2, as I do understand in the corporate world, it all about profits and gain; T-Mobile would have suffered major loss had they adhered to the Jump 1 stands for long.

My phone is my internet. I tether it. To do so and not have an outrageous bill you need two things.
1) Rooted phone
2) Unlimited data
So until another company offers unlimited data? They are the best around imo. They are also the only company I can go from the US to London on and still use my phone. Changing nothing. They are actually one of the best carriers. But if you want to keep paying over 100$ a month stay with one of the other guys... I pay 92 a month INCLUDING my note 4 payment. Unlimited everything including data. Due to T-mobiles high speeds my phone is my home internet.
PS> I have seen more retards at Verizon stores than anywhere. Maybe its just the stores where you live have a crappy regional manager? Ever think of that?
Well, I'm sure I must have went to a well reputable Verizon store then. T-Mobile's phone reps never seem to be updated or clear regarding their own policies, nor do they even understand their latest uncarrier moves. Ask them a question (even if you already know the answer) and you'll get a distorted answer from them. I've been to some T-Mobile stores where the reps were courteous, professional, and knew what they were selling, but the odds for encountering a carrier store like that are low for the most part. Its the tele-representatives I'm referring to. I only switched to T-Mobile due to the value of service I'd be getting, nothing to do with coverage.

You may be able to Jump to a new phone after a year or after the device is half way paid off but you have to trade it in . If you do the math you are losing money 2 ways. A year from now you can sell your phone outright for more than $400 easily . That being said 1 year from now you will have half your device paid off if you are doing the 2 year finance . So that means Tmobile is giving $330 Tops for your phone when you Jump. You can just sell your phone for anything more than $330 ( which is very easy) and put it towards a new device . When I was gonna Jump from my S5 to the note 4 they were only giving me $320 cause that is what I owed on it. I sold it for $425 and paid off the S5 and put the extra $105 towards my Note 4 . Unless you are on the old Jump then it is not worth it cause they pay you less than market value for an easy to sell phone.

Hey guys, I've been thinking about canceling my Jump! service, I just do not see the benefit beside protecting you device. I just want to see who have it, and why you want to keep it. Or those that do not have it and why you didn't bother signing up.

In order to Jump you have to have half your device paid off . If you just bought a Note 4 now then in a year from now you will only owe $330 or so . So Tmobile is gonna give you $330 for a phone you could easily sell a year from now for over $400 . Keep your insurance , dump jump and put the $24 you save in a year for not having it plus the $400+ you can sell your Note 4 for and pay off your device when you want to Jump and put the extra $100 or so you have left towards your new phone. Put it this way even if you only get $350 for your Note 4 ( which would be on the very low end) you would still be coming out ahead. Why trade in an easy to sell device when you can sell it yourself ?No doubt about it that you are getting screwed by TMO when you pay for Jump . If you are on the Old Jump please disregard this message. the old Jump is worth it. Tmobile may still ask you to put a deposit on your new phone when you decide to jump . All jump does is pay off the remaing balance on your phone. Tmobile will still run a credit check when you get a new device.Just do the math and you will see why Jump is a Scam . Numbers don't lie put Big Business does. Anything they can to squeeze a few more dollars out of you a month.
I think its just a matter of convenience and peace of mind now with Jump 2. The fact that you don't need to worry about paying shipping and insurance and seller fees, etc when selling the phone to the second owner.

Verizon Nexus 6 was "supposed" to be released today.

Spoke to a Verizon rep randomly today because I was about 10 seconds away from getting out of my EDGE plan and have a competitor buy me out of a contract. I am patient but for the love of god give me something Verizon. This is ridiculous.
Anyway, long story short I happen to get myself a fanatic today. He had a lot more information than any other rep I have spoken to and I have had my fair share of run ins with these clowns. I figured I would give some love back to my community.
I took it for what it was........ Hopefully its true. Sorry for the poor quality, it does the trick though.

Oh ok. I am about to give up on the nexus 6 with Verizon man.
If I remember correctly edge is not a contract so you don't have a termination fee, just a payment fee. And from what I heard from T-Mobile, they will only buy out your contract/pay termination fee. They will not pay your edge installment balance off. Just fyi if you did want to eventually leave Verizon while you have Edge installments.

I hear you. I got tired of waiting and purchased from Moto directly, took advantage of their no-interest payments. Sold my G3 to offset some of the costs.

That's right. What I was going to do was pay 75% of my phone off and get started in a contract so another company can buy me out that way.

That's early edge, meaning that you're recycling into another edge installment. you have to completely pay off your phone if you wanted to leave the service. it looks like what you're trying to do has a slim chance of seeing a glimmer of light lol. all in all, if you do it this way, pay the full amount of the phone you have and sell it at ebay/swappa/cl price. not sure what phone you have but i'm sure you'll be losing a few hundred bucks. sorry buddy, that's the trick of edge, they got you.

That's good to know that you can switch over. That also means you just forked over hundreds of dollars (to pay off 75% for a device) to verizon AND bought a new phone under a 2 year agreement plus activation fee. But if you started edge when it first came out, then there's no problem about that since you've been already paying that for that period of time.
Or, are you planning to switch to a different carrier for them to pay ETF?

I'm doing the 2yr contract. Getting the moto x since its free right now with the headphones. With all the fees I'm paying about 90 dollars. Than I'm going to sell them on ebay. To help with the cost of the nexus 6.
Thought I'd mention that on the official Verizon forums I found a post from mid December where a person claimed to have been told January 2nd by a support rep. That gives me hope that it truly will be released eventually.

VZ extended their exchange period for the holidays until 1/15. I GUARENTEE they won't release it during that time period. Look for it no earlier than 1/16.
I switched the family over to Verizon yesterday and ended up using a iphone 5S IMEI to get my number to activate before popping it in my CW Nexus 6. The rep that was doing the activations said that he has played with a Verizon Nexus 6 during his training. He asked me how I liked it. I did ask him when it would release and he said he wasnt sure, just that the phone was undergoing testing and should release soon.
Only gripe would be that I cant do Data while On a phone call. Was used to this when I was on AT&T and came in handy while on Conf calls and such.

Trying to find a way to buy, US.

Hey guys
I want the Nexus 6P. I've decided nothing else is desirable.
But carriers aren't selling it in the US. I'm on ATT next program - for those who don't know what that is I pay ~$26 a month on top of my phone bill for 12,16, or 24 months. I've enjoyed it, I get an upgrade every year and don't have to houce my pockets. It's just what my bill is.
However I don't have that option with the Nexus. But I want it.
My thought was I'll just upgrade to an iPhone 6S and flip that on CL or swappa or something to get the funds in cash to pay for a Nexus 6P. Of course I'd be without a phone for a day or two, not a big deal in the grand scheme.
Except I talked to someone at work who said the problem with that is the phone you get through ATT is "financed" thus if I sesell it whoever buys would have issues and it would be labeled stolen.... I wonder if anyone can confirm this.
Are there any other people in a similar position to me who are lookin at ways to get a Nexus 6P?
I don't have the cash up front which is why I don't just order it.
Thanks guys.

I totally agree. I hear you can get it financed with Google FI for no interest but I can't confirm it just read it here. Was just throwing out an option for those people who don't mind paying upwards of 30% interest.

I see that.
Do you know anything about the NEXT program doing that to a phone if you sell it?
I don't need another phone plan just to finance a phone, though I am interested in Project Fi I am not interested in it at this very moment.
I have looked on the ATT forums. It appears I can sell a phone that is on the NEXT program, however the buyer must be on ATT service...
I am still on the hook for the payments on the phone as well. Despite the risk this is an option. I do not want it to be the only option. Still searching..
The NEXT program and others like it are a rip off to consumers, before they subsidized the phones so you'd sign a 2 year agreement, now you pay the full retail price over time AND you sign a 2 year agreement? RIPOFF.
You've locked yourself into buying their phones, so you are stuck buying their phones.
The only 2 ways to get the Nexus 6P right now is through Google or Huawei.

I have 4 other lines in the account, it's not a ripoff. One other is on NEXT.
We would renew anyways, however there's no problem there. However now I'm looking at the Nexus and there lies the problem you bring up..
I think I might look into project fi, but then I'm paying 25% of my bill right now for one line. Not really interested.
Thus my thought was I'll get an iPhone 6s and sell it to someone who has ATT but no upgrade or something. Doubt there's a huge market for that..
I'm guessing you could unlock it and use it on another network though they say you can't. If someone buys it, it's no longer my issue. I'll pay the bill every month as I have for 3 years. They want to try and cheat the system that's not my doing..
Then I'd have the money to get a Nexus. However I don't have it without something like that. So, I'm stuck. Really looking for options here but I don't see a whole lot of them.

I actually think this is probably your best route, I think you'd be surprised the market for a brand new phone like the 6s.
If you ask a little under retail, I bet that'll sell quick, those who broke theirs but don't have an upgrade. On Verizon there is always a market for those who still have unlimited data. I bought my last two Verizon phones this way because I can't change my contract or I lose unlimited, does AT&T still have people on grandfathered unlimited plans? Or did they axe those?
Either way I think you'll easily get $500+ for an iphone 6s, which would help you recoup the cost of the Nexus.

I do not know, I was on T Mobile for close to a decade before we finally got tired of losing signal strength every time you walk into a building, among other things.
I will look at going that route then. It may be a month or so, and that will leave me with some time to see if carriers may indeed sell the phone, though it doesn't look to be the case.
I want to look into other routes here, but I don't see any that are jumping out at me. Thanks for your replies

Sell the phone if you can unlock it. I have AT&T NEXT, also. As long as you keep making payments on it they won't do anything. You just keep making payments as if you're "keeping" the phone. So you can sell it, you're just responsible to pay it off still if you have time remaining on the contract. I have a HTC One M8 that I got through AT&T and converted to a Google Play Edition. Once my 6P comes in I'll sell the M8 and continue business as usual paying it off monthly. When you go to de-activate your current phone and activate the Nexus just tell them you're keeping the phone and continuing to pay it off. They won't care.
EDIT: I should add I did talk to AT&T about this. The rep said if I sold the phone I can continue paying it off monthly as usual and wasn't required to pay it off in full to sell it. He said I wouldn't need to pay it off or anything to de-activate it and add the Nexus, either. You're not required to pay the phone off in full unless you're keeping it and want to upgrade to a new phone early through AT&T. Since you're upgrading through Google by buying the phone from them and just activating it on AT&T, you do not have to pay anything to AT&T. You just need to make sure the old phone is de-activated before you sell it, obviously.
Only problem, swappa won't sell it because it's financed. If you are honest with people, only an idiot will buy it for anything close to retail, because nothing is stopping you from cancelling service and there by blacklisting the phone.
Not saying you would stop service, but how would a potential buyer know.

I might have to do this. Seems a bit much for a phone. But it is a Nexus.

I'm looking to sell third party... And I understand that. I plan to be up front to potential buyers -- someone will need it. Only giving myself a few days to handle this when/if I go this route. I don't want to go through all these steps.

I heard a rumor that carriers may have the 6P sometime later this year. Whether or not that's true though, I can't really say. So, if you don't find a way to get it now, you may be in luck in another few months.

I don't see that anyone mentioned this, but if you buy the Nexus 6P from Huawei's website you can select to do a payment plan. If you don't have the cash up front to fully pay for the phone then that may be a viable option.
This is like Verizon's new setup... I switched our plan over to their new plan system to get cheaper data... however I've never bought a phone through their little gimmick.... so I don't currently pay any extra/month for a phone. I also never will play their little game.. I'll take their savings and buy my phones elsewhere like my new 6P and just swap sim cards or go get a new sim card if they change again in the future. So really I got a pretty good deal switching while I already had a phone I bought lol.

Already mentioned, however the interest is outrageous. 30% or something I believe.
I did call ATT just out of curiosity, they can't confirm anything about the N6P. Will have to wait it out and just let it play out.
