Well... if i destroy my S4 for any reason, i would like to have the original rom... the only think i remember about that rom is the name... i9500UBUAMDK, seeing the sammobile website, already exist about 6 roms called I9500UBUAMDK (all LATAM)... In Chile does not sell i9500 model, i buy it at www.mercadolibre.cl
How can i know what rom use in my phone?
THANKS!!
If you are asking about the version that is on your (new) phone. Go to settings / more / about device
You will also see your model number. Just filter your model number and you can download the appropriate official firmware.

If your S4 is factory unlocked, you can flash any Stock ROMs that are not carrier locked from sammobile.com, here's the tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477&page=4
Hi all,
I have a Vodafone UK Note 3 (n9005). Is it possible to flash the unbranded ROMs on my phone? I don't want custom ROMs at this point but a regular unbranded ROM with all Samsung stuff is fine. The reason being that the Vodafone ROM does not have updates that enable Ultra Power Saving/Kids mode and the TW is a little different to what I have seen in the unbranded ROMs (Ive compared with Indian ROMS for N900)
Please let me know if there will be any impacts when flashing and any steps I should take while doing it. I am from India if that matters. The phone works with Indian SIM no problem there. Just want to keep it that way.

I know both are different. I am only asking about N9005. Did you notice any improvements after flashing NF4? Battery or performance?
I dont want download booster or knox 2.0 just curious about performance and anything different in UI
Good morning guys, I have just bought a second-handed Samsung Galaxy S4 Today, and as I always do, I wanted to see the development for it, the problem is the model, there is almost nothing here about it (SHG I337M). I have never owned a Samsung smartphone so I ask someone here for help about it. You could tell me about KNOX, root, Custom ROMS, and stuff like that.:highfive:
Thanks for your attention, have a nice day!:good:
You can lock the phone down using KNOX. Or you can limit what apps one can access if the phone is in KNOX mode. So basically it is just some security stuff from Samsung. KNOX also has some warranty usage, but since the phone is second hand it's pointless.
So you can throw KNOX out the window.
The SGH-I337 is the AT&T version of the GT-I9505 model. So it's just a rebranded phone.
Unfortunately, AT&T like to lock the phone's bootloaders, making rooting and flashing custom recoveries a lot harder.
Not all hope is lost, though. You can still root and/or flash a custom recovery and rom, but it all depends on your firmware version.
You should definitely check your firmware version and then see if there are any ways to root it and flash a custom recovery. Then we talk custom roms.
If the phone is indeed an i337m (the att version does not have the "m" at the end), you are lucky because the bootloader is not locked and you are free to install twrp and customs ROMs based on cm, aosp, and tw.
You might want to check out the att forums for the s4 for ROMs too.

Thanks for your fast reply! As I saw down here, my phone can't be the at&t version because of the "m" and because it comes from the mexican carrier TELCEL. Respect to the firmware to be able to proceed with the root, recovery and that stuff... My S4's firmware could be here (I'm not sure about which of these data is)

The firmware doesn't matter anymore if it is an I337M.
The I337M is a Canadian model.
Now you can root your phone and install a custom recovery
Or
Install a custom recovery first and then flash a custom rom.
I suggest not trying a rom for the s4 with a exynos processor. I have read stories about owners of the Samsung s3 that hard bricked their phone by flashing a non-Qualcomm rom.

I already told you that the I337M is a rebranded I9505.
The i9505 has a Qualcomm so it should be okay.

Yes, me too. If you want root on the stock ROM you need to flash this package through Odin, if not, you will need twrp for a custom ROM. It has the Qualcomm chip so don't worry
Well my problem is the following:
i bought a s5 g900a, im from argentina, and i bought it second hand to a friend of mine, who bought it in usa (the frequencies of this phone are the same we use in argentina, so they're ok), the problem is i cannot get the mobile network to work, the sim works perfectly in other phones but not in this, i wonder what could i do, i tried *#*#4636#*#* change to lte, etc but wont work, the other problem is i cannot root the phone, i tried kingroot, kingoroot, towelroot, etc and none works to me, the android version is 4.4.2 plz give me a hand!!

For those who aren't already aware, A515U is the model number of all of the US carrier versions of the Galaxy A51. The A515U1 is the model number of the same device, but sold by Samsung SIM unlocked and with no carrier bloatware. Firmware is 100% interchangeable among these models (as it is with any U and U1 models): any U or U1 firmware version can be flashed to any U or U1 device at any time, assuming that you're not trying to downgrade the bootloader. Also, U firmware is identical for the 4 base files (AP, BL, CP, CSC) for each individual build, no matter which carrier it comes from. So if you download 2 different carrier versions of the exact same build, the 4 base files will be identical. Where the firmware differs is in the USERDATA file - that's where the carrier bloatware and customizations reside.
Manual Odin flashing is designed for those who:
- want to manually update to a newer version of U firmware on their U device, either because they don't want to wait for their carrier's OTA or because OTAs aren't working on their device, or a different carrier got a new feature/patch before they did
- want to flash U1 firmware to their U device
- want to convert from U1 firmware to carrier U firmware
- want to convert from one carrier's U firmware (with all apps and bloatware) to a different carrier's U firmware (with all apps and bloatware)
For those who aren't already aware, anyone can now download firmware for almost any Samsung device any time that they want, via SamFirm or Frija. There are threads and info about them here on XDA so I won't waste time explaining - do a search if you're not already familiar with these tools. But they only provide whatever the latest/newest/current version is - nothing older. I pay for a subscription to a site that gets the official releases (usually) before they hit SamFirm/Frija, so that's where my files come from. However, I don't have unlimited bandwidth on the site, and it's also quite time consuming to download the files, zip them up, and upload them to AFH. And, I do threads like this for every single Ax, Sx, and Note x model - so I won't be uploading every single version. The only full builds that I upload are ones where I get access to a new bootloader and/or Android version early, before they hit SamFirm/Frija. Also, since AT&T doesn't allow their firmware to be publicly available (for any of their devices), I'll try to always upload at least one USERDATA per bootloader increment for AT&T (and Cricket, if they get this model). I'll also upload any full builds if AT&T is the only carrier to get that specific build, because you won't be able to find the files anywhere else.
This is not a "beginner's guide to Odin flashing" -type post/thread, so I won't list basic, step-by-step flashing instructions. My threads are geared towards those who already know what they're doing. If you're new to manually flashing Samsung firmware, I recommend you consult one of those "beginner's" guides- there are tons of them here on XDA.
Happy flashing!
U firmware: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=310014
U1 firmware: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=310015
Notes:
- DON'T QUOTE THE OP WHEN YOU REPLY, kthx
- I have lots of threads just like this one for other Samsung devices (mostly the flagships), if that interests you. For those who have already made use of my previous threads for a different device and are upgrading or changing devices, welcome back
- My zips are compressed extra small for space and bandwidth savings. The default Windows extractor can't handle it, so you'll need a 3rd party tool like 7zip, WinRAR, etc
- My naming method for folders on AFH is: build - bootloader - Android version
So "SAT - 1 - 9.0" means the full build number ends in SAT, it's bootloader version 1, and it's Android 9.0. When bootloader and Android versions increment, the first build to have those changes will have its folder notated appropriately.
- Flashing the HOME CSC file keeps data intact; using the other CSC will wipe data. Flashing USERDATA will also wipe data
- For identifying USERDATAS, and to know what region/CSC to use if you're looking to get firmware from SamFirm/Frija:
AIO = Cricket (not available via SamFirm/Frija)
ATT = AT&T (not available via SamFirm/Frija)
BST = Boost Mobile
CCT = Xfinity Mobile (Comcast)
CHA = Spectrum Mobile (Charter)
SPR = Sprint
TMB = T-Mobile
TMK = Metro PCS
USC = US Cellular
VZW = Verizon (available via SamFirm/Frija, but Manual Entry is required - Auto will not work)
XAA = U1 firmware
- As some or most of you may know, starting with the S8, Samsung has included a feature in U firmware where it automatically changes the bloatware to match the SIM card of the carrier that you insert. So that means that if you have an AT&T device that's been SIM unlocked, and you insert a SIM from T-Mobile, you'll get a popup message prompting you to restart to apply new carrier settings. After the phone reboots from doing that, it will have converted itself to look like a model that was originally sold by T-Mobile, complete with all of their apps and bloatware. If you insert a SIM from a carrier that does not have its own firmware (a prepaid MVNO for example), then the phone might adopt the bloatware of the network whose towers the SIM runs on, or it might just keep the existing bloatware and not change it at all.
If you do not get that popup prompt when inserting a different SIM, and want/need to do the conversion manually, the correct procedure for switching from one carrier's U firmware (with all bloatware and apps) to another carrier's U firmware is:
1. Flash full U1 firmware package including non HOME CSC
2. Upon boot, insert a SIM of the carrier whose firmware you want
3. Watch for the popup that says "reboot to apply new carrier settings" etc, and do it
4. After that restart completes, reboot back to Download mode and flash the full U firmware package, with the USERDATA file of the carrier whose firmware you want
1. As of today's date, neither U nor U1 firmware appears to be live on SamFirm/Frija. Once I notice that it is live, I'll post about it (unless someone else beats me to it)
2. This is the latest patched Odin which will probably be required for flashing files - https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/patched-odin-3-13-1-t3762572
I do not have an A51 and probably never will - I'm only providing the files for the benefit and use of XDA users. So I don't have any personal experience with this particular model

I'm new and the forum won't allow me to officially post a link until after 10 posts so to visit the site add the HyperTextTransferProtocol (http) before the domain above
Has anyone been able to successfully try or implement this? For me the steps aren't totally clear.

"if you have managed to unlock the bootloader" - and I guarantee that you haven't managed that, nor is there any way to do that at this time. There are 1000 similar sites out there, all written in poor English and all claiming that you can root this device and that device - IF the bootloader is unlocked. All they do is copy/paste and edit the model number when a new model comes out and create a new page, all trying to get clicks - or something
