Hi people,
this is my first post here
i'm from Mexico and my Razr HD is from Telcel
after flash the Retail Brasilian Firmware I lost my 4G LTE because the firmware has a diferent modem from Brasil LTE
for the people who lost LTE after flashing (like me) I have the solution
I just took the firmware from Rogers Canada and extract the modem_signed file and with this modem I have again my LTE from Telcel
I attached the bat file and fastboot files if somebody need it
i didn't attached the modem_signed file because my internet is very slow but you can download it from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1943879\\
you just put the modem_signed file in the same folder with the files attached and run the bat file, your phone need to be in fastboot mode

well, with the brazil firmware you will no have any app of Telcel and the performance I feel it a little bit faster but not much, the only thing that will not chance is the Messages icon because its stored in the sim card, if turn on your phone without your sim card you will see the original Message icon (blue) then if you insert your sim card the screen will be flash a little bit and the Message icon will turn orange with white

Ahh ok. Well I've read that removing all telcel's stuff was a huge improvement on the speed/battery life.
Maybe I will try this on the weekend.
Gracias!
Just to let you know, this does not work on CM10. It makes the modem unstable, and can't connect to LTE.
Anyway, thank you for your help.
hey
we can also flash the rogers firm full, just download from firmwares thread and open the firm file with winrar, choose the xml file and edit with notepad, erase the following lines
<step var="max-download-size" operation="getvar"/>
<step var="fb_mode_set" operation="oem"/>
save and ready to flash!!!

I'm having problems during the flash.
I'm trying to install the rogers firmware over this telcel version and I can't do it unless I use the files from telcel
I'm using RSD Lite 6 and It says "failed to hab check for" with a few files like system_signed, devtree_signed, system_signed
What i'm missing? Do i need to unlock it first?

I´m having issues with my phone since new. If I have LTE after a call my signal dissapears for a few seconds and then reconnects. This doesn't happens with 3g.
Is there an error with the original modem file from telcel?
My phone is damaged? I'm the only one having this problem?

For my use Iusacell Network, I have preferences to Custom Roms or Cooked (still there for the Razr I) and therefore I did the following:
1. - Unlock Bootloader (Motorola Official Site)
2. - Install CWMR (Clock Work Mod Recovery) and made a backup of the system is Telcel see post of http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2166646
3. - Download and install RSD Lite 6.1.4 http://www.mediafire.com/?yw9dh89jtqii71e
4. - Download and install a firmware using RSD lite 6.1.4, I chose Brazil Retail (ICS and is used to put a new SIM to exit the menu to enter the unlock code SIM) (It should "just unzip" by rsd lite in the browser and edit the XML file and delete this line <step operation="getvar" var="max-download-size" />
leaves the file saving changes in RSD Lite is sought file you edited and select to trigger the flash, if you choose a firmware starting with CFC this line does not appear, I not flash CFCs.
5. - I got the unlock code by IMEI (unlock code generated must be 16 digits) in http://www.unlockunit.com/es/liberar-motorola/motorola-razr-i-xt890, I want to clarify that the total amount was paid 19.9 USD as the price of 13.9 is on your list of search operator Telcel and when they do not, so it has to build and cost me, 6 USD I made my transaction via PayPal but you can pay online (takes 5 business days)
6. - I put the SIM of Iusacell, asked me the code, I introduced and ready, Razr I working with Iusacell (the Razr I in the HSPA+ Iusacell network is 4G)
Note: You can start from step 3, and not supporting anything and just install a new firmware for you to quit the input menu unlock code SIM: good:
If you unlock the bootloader you can follow this XDA thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1936512 very careful with the steps, you are to read

So, Just moved to Japan, bought myself a Galaxy S5 which was just released here 2 weeks ago. The model number is SCL23. Been looking to root it, but i don't see any threads/posts or any info at all about this model number. It is stated in other posts that the "international/asia" model is SM-G900I, but I have looked all over my phone, and the only model number found is SCL23. So, will any of the other root options work for my phone? And if not, is there anything hope for me in the future? The cell phone carrier I use is AU, and i am on firmware 4.4.2.
So is this just an attempt to trick customers? Is this model number correct? Anyone with any information at all please let me know.
If i attempt a root with the wrong model files, will it brick my phone?

I just saw your question and found this it may help you both https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UgX4Q8_VYM
I believe this version of the Galaxy S5 is a specific Japanese model with the charging dock feature, and thus development is quite scarce. Be careful modifying it as you have a higher chance of bricking.

1-você vai fazer download do apk normalmente e instalar

I was also trying to root my AU GS5 SCL23. Apparently, the AU model of GS5 is not rootable. Also the AU GS5 is most likely going to stay that way... . Just found something that might help you. Its in Japanese though.
Type "au galaxy s5 rooting" on google and click the first link on top "【root】towelrootを使った端末のroot化について…2014/9/2更新" If your in Japan the same link would show up.
dont know why they dont allow you to post urls

Good morning guys, I have just bought a second-handed Samsung Galaxy S4 Today, and as I always do, I wanted to see the development for it, the problem is the model, there is almost nothing here about it (SHG I337M). I have never owned a Samsung smartphone so I ask someone here for help about it. You could tell me about KNOX, root, Custom ROMS, and stuff like that.:highfive:
Thanks for your attention, have a nice day!:good:
You can lock the phone down using KNOX. Or you can limit what apps one can access if the phone is in KNOX mode. So basically it is just some security stuff from Samsung. KNOX also has some warranty usage, but since the phone is second hand it's pointless.
So you can throw KNOX out the window.
The SGH-I337 is the AT&T version of the GT-I9505 model. So it's just a rebranded phone.
Unfortunately, AT&T like to lock the phone's bootloaders, making rooting and flashing custom recoveries a lot harder.
Not all hope is lost, though. You can still root and/or flash a custom recovery and rom, but it all depends on your firmware version.
You should definitely check your firmware version and then see if there are any ways to root it and flash a custom recovery. Then we talk custom roms.
If the phone is indeed an i337m (the att version does not have the "m" at the end), you are lucky because the bootloader is not locked and you are free to install twrp and customs ROMs based on cm, aosp, and tw.
You might want to check out the att forums for the s4 for ROMs too.

Thanks for your fast reply! As I saw down here, my phone can't be the at&t version because of the "m" and because it comes from the mexican carrier TELCEL. Respect to the firmware to be able to proceed with the root, recovery and that stuff... My S4's firmware could be here (I'm not sure about which of these data is)

The firmware doesn't matter anymore if it is an I337M.
The I337M is a Canadian model.
Now you can root your phone and install a custom recovery
Or
Install a custom recovery first and then flash a custom rom.
I suggest not trying a rom for the s4 with a exynos processor. I have read stories about owners of the Samsung s3 that hard bricked their phone by flashing a non-Qualcomm rom.

Hola, creo que eres de México. La mayor parte del desarrollo está aquí, casi todas las roms que son para el GT-i9505 también son compatibles para SGH-i337M ya que son muy parecidos en hardware. En estos foros está TWRP y si te gusta CM hay dos roms muy buenas Optimized CM 13 y Synergy's ROM.

Si soy de México, tu también?:highfive: Entonces cualquier método root que esté para el GT-i9505 sirve para el mío?
Yes, I'm from Mexico, are you too?:highfive: So, every root method for the GT-i9505 could be used on mine?

Mine has Qualcomm's processor, does the GT-i9505 too? So I could install a ROM for that model on my SGH i337m?
Thanks for your reply

I already told you that the I337M is a rebranded I9505.
The i9505 has a Qualcomm so it should be okay.

Yes, me too. If you want root on the stock ROM you need to flash this package through Odin, if not, you will need twrp for a custom ROM. It has the Qualcomm chip so don't worry
Well my problem is the following:
i bought a s5 g900a, im from argentina, and i bought it second hand to a friend of mine, who bought it in usa (the frequencies of this phone are the same we use in argentina, so they're ok), the problem is i cannot get the mobile network to work, the sim works perfectly in other phones but not in this, i wonder what could i do, i tried *#*#4636#*#* change to lte, etc but wont work, the other problem is i cannot root the phone, i tried kingroot, kingoroot, towelroot, etc and none works to me, the android version is 4.4.2 plz give me a hand!!
Hey man just connect it to samsung kies and then just update it to 5.0 which is the latest version for the s5 in south America,
Other thing is just flash a custom recovery ans them proceed to install cm13 i get 2 days with full usage on that rom.
Saludos.
