A few weeks after I bought my LG Optimus 7, during a friend's wedding, on a rainy day, I was taking photos and noticed I had my shoelaces untied. Since I left my phone in my shirt pocket, when I bent down to tie my shoelaces, it went directly to the street, flooded with water... It was completely submerged and the display turned on... I immediately took it out of the water, shut it down and remove the battery... After 2 or 3 hours I turn it back on and it worked like a charm ... Today, after 1.5+ year it's working perfect... So... I would say it IS waterproof...
Have any of you had any similar experience?
PS: Don't try this at home
Dropped a whole glass of water on the screen and its till alive with no problems
it might be waterproof but not martini-proof. Dropped in a full glass. LED backlight IC charge pump fried. Had it partially working again by giving the backlight another source of power. of course no backlight level control this way.
My HD2 Dropped in water 5 days ago ... i tried to dry it in sunlight and put it in rice ... but unfortunately a black spots appear in the screen (see attachment )
I take it apart ... what I've to disassemble exactly to dry it ???
Note : These black spots on the screen are changing their position and their size every day
thanks a lot.
If unlucky you may need lcd
You could remove rear housing & try drying again with more rice for several days.
i suggest reading This as it may help
Hi everone.
The problem is my Note 3 Touch screen not working after gone swimming.
After clean up and dried up the phone working with the Spen and everthing work only touch screen dead.
What i have to change? Mainboard or screen?
Thanks.
:good:
I suspect the screen. If the motherboard was fried, the phone wouldn't start...
Did you leave the phone to dry in a bowl of rice for three days?

Once swim inside, try pull out battery, and put everything inside the rice bag for at least 3 days like @ShadowLea said. 1 week better.
My friend's phone also like that but he is luckier the phone drop, battery came off nd drop to water. So the phone was in off condition. I dunno urs.

Hello!
My sisters GS3 Neo fell in the toilet (the schools toilet ) and we can't find the LDI to undestand if she can send it to be repaired under warranty. Where are this stickers located?

I recently opened up my s3 neo and there aren't any stickers to tell you that.
Check this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fgnx_zoaIk0 However s3 neo doesn't have any of these marks. Even battery has no stickers.

Thank you. Fortunately the phone started workig again after a few days in dry rice. And yes, my sisters phone doesn't have LDI's on the battery or the back behind the battery itself so, same as yours.
I spilled some water on my s5 ...în the sink ...a small-mediu quantity of water (I washed my phone with soap ....I did that even before and was ok) ...everything îs ok except SPEAKER which in the past 2 days has been all distorted ...very crispy sound
I'm so desperate ...I don't know what to do ...I supposed if there was water left inside speaker would dissappear in 2 days ...WTF ,
I left my phone 8h in a small quantity of rice ...nothing ...
PLEASE HELP ... it is over ?
Omg ) I washed it again ..spilled some water on the speaker and now it's OK ...thx God
I don't know how to close this thread
I'd be careful using soap, it might decay the rubber seals protecting the phone from water, and next time you 'wash' it, it might not survive
