[Q] - Redmi Note Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have xiaomi redminote 4g running MIUI version 6.5.4.0. It is rooted. I want to move all my apps to sd card without partitioning it. Is there any method for doing this?

[Q] Cyanogenmod and rooting

in order to put cyanogenmod onto a nook color do i have to root it, if i am doing the method using an sd card? if i dont root before i try to put cyanogenmod onto it what would happen?
No, you can install to an SD card without rooting the internal system. It will boot from the SD card if present. You can hold down the n button during booting and elect to boot to the unrooted nook system when desired. Or remove the SD card and reboot for the unaltered Nook experience.

Click to collapse
1. if you put a custom ROM on your NC, you do NOT need to root it.
2. if you plan to run CM7 off the uSD, do so. The internal system (OS and kernel) is UNTOUCHED. Safe to go.

[Q] Best App Installer for SD card?

My S5 phone (5.0.2 rooted on stock rom).
I only have internal 5gb left. So, I'd like to install apps / games onto my SD card instead. I see some apps here and there but I honestly don't know which one / method works the best.
Thanks in advance!

Questions before updating to CM 13

Hi there!
I've been enjoying CM 13 on my Nexus 5, so I thought I might as well update my Moto X Play to it. I'm currently running stock Indian firmware (single SIM, dual SIM-ified).
The only part of the process which is not very clear to me is what happens with my SD card, which is currently formatted as internal storage. Is there any way to preserve that data? I don't really mind formatting the card again, but it would speed up the process if I don't have to do it.
Last, is there a way in CM for all the apps to always be installed to the SD card by default? After MM, every time an app upgrades I have to manually move it, which is not ideal...
Thanks!

install apps on the SD on MIUI 8

so, I recently installed the official MIUI 8 (5.1.1) ROM on my redmi 2. everything is great, but I can't find a way for installing or moving the apps to the SD card. I've tried the usual apps on the play store, but no dice.
is there any other way to do this? or am I doing something wrong?
MIUI doesn't allow install apps in sd Card. You can try link2sd if you have root.

How to adopt SD as internal on Sprint Tab 4 7.0 SM-T237P

Is there a way to use the SD as INTERNAL on the Tab 4 7.0 running Lollipop 5.1 (Sprint flavor, if it matters). It's off contract with no mobile data (WiFi only).
I don't mind trying to root it, but the only thing I really need is to increase the capacity of the 16Gb internal to include my SD (I keep running out of space). I also need to keep OTG working.
I suggest rooting and creating second partition on your sd card, then using app like Apps2SD(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.co.pricealert.apps2sd&hl=en) to link(move) apps to sd card.
(There are guides about this. And if you go with this use ext4 even if guide you found uses ext3)
The feature you're trying to have isn't available in lollipop, but it's available on marshmallow.
You can either look for a custom ROM on marshmallow or use link2sd on a lollipop ROM.
