Hello Everyone
Last week I noticed that I cant make calls via my Nexus 4. I had fully 3G signal but when i tried to call I had "finished call" a sec later. I tried again, again and again... and finnaly I rebooted phone. After that at last I made a call, but since that I still have the same issue from time to time. I noticed that I dont need to reboot phone its enough when I just turn off the data transmission. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

radio is baseband. however you need to be more specific about the m9615a since the important information is in the numbers at the end for the exact version like 1700.48, etc
Its version 2.0.1700.48
Guys, i was follow a spanish s4 forum, cause' i got a problem with my S4.
I was looking for the best rom for S4, at what I found the Omega ROM. Excellent rom very stable and fast. Days passed and I was without service, could not call, and I can only do "emergency calls". I've tried everything, I've tried many ROMS both modified and original genuine Samsung, in my country and even my current carrier and get nothing, "Emergency calls only".
Important
* The IMEI of the box, the IMEI under the battery is the same when I press * # 06 #, therefore I have no IMEI problems.
** When I restart the phone, under the tab, and my operator name appears, only those 5 seconds I have signal, then the message "Emergency calls only"
Now I have this ROM *** Final Evolution (issued from HTCMania):
******* Android Version 4.2.2
******* Baseband Version: I9505VJUAMDE
******* Kernel Version: 3.4.55-Google-Edition ausdim @ dk # 13
******* State SELinux: Permissive (no idea what this is).
At this minute I get a gray screen with Yellow letters delivered me a description as shown in the attached image. Basically get:
PDA: I9505XXUBMGA
Phone: I9505VJUAMDE
CSC: I9505OXXBMG3
I've done everything to try to get my S4 subject so I'm willing to fix my problem
Does anyone have any idea what to do?
Do I have something wrong with the phone? Should be the same or equal semi stands for PDA, Phone and CSC?
I'm from Chile and sorry for the English caveman.
I will be grateful for your help!!
Thank you!
Did you buy the phone brand new? If not, it could be imei blocked

I was looking at a page of an operator in my country (Chile) which let me see if my S4 is blocked by IMEI. Corroborated with a friend who works in the same operator on my phone, and also the confirmed I had no problems with my old IMEI company nor had me locked (lock the phone you called Customer Loyalty)
Sorry again for my bad english
[Q] New N900 has bad signal and "your device has been modified" update error
Hello forum,
I am in the UK using a Virgin sim and my girlfriend bought this phone new in china and flew it over to me. At the moment the signal is really bad wherever I go (the same SIM card in my old galaxy nexus had great signal in all these places) so I was wondering if there was any way to make the signal better?
Also I tried to do an update through the settings menu hoping this would sort out the signal problem and it is giving me the "your device has been modified. no updates available for this device." error even though the phone is new.
the information about the device is as follows:
when I type *#1234# I get:
AP: N900ZSUBMI5
CP:N900XXUBMI2
CSC:N900OZSBMI2
In my "about device" within settings, the following is given:
Model number: SM-N900
Android version: 4.3
Baseband version: N900XXUBMI2
Kernel version: 3.4.39-1625296
[email protected]#1
Wed Sep 11 19:49:31 KST 2013
Build number: JSS15J.N900ZSUBMI5
SELinux status: Enforcing
If I reboot to recover it opens:
CWM-based Recovery v6.0.4.5
Compiled by Xiaolu(20131121)
When I try to check knox I cant see it (I go into odin mode and the top left just says the following):
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
(I now understand the N900 doesn't have knox)
Thanks for looking, any feedback at all would be much appreciated :good:

Well it looks great. At least I can be sure that your phone shouldn't be a fake. It is of Hong Kong or Taiwan origin, Exynos, running 4.3 on N900ZSUBMI5.
You have CWM Recovery, Xiaolu's port of it. Hence that device was probably rooted prior to getting it handed over to your girlfriend. KNOX is only present on the MJ and onward firmwares, and you happen to be on an MI firmware so you don't have it activated yet.
Check the section for Network/Bearer and Wireless Connectivity on this link: http://www.samsung.com/levant/consumer/mobile-phones/mobile-phones/galaxy-note/SM-N9000ZKEXSG-spec
Match it up with your country's network specifications. There's a reason why these phones don't get sold worldwide, as they aren't all compatible with every region. Also remember to set correct APN values for your country.

okay thanks for your reply, I believe the frequencies virgin use are 1800MHz and 2100MHz which can both be used with this phone. The APN settings were downloaded automatically when the phone was first booted and I also manually checked them and they are correct.

What is your network switch options in Settings?
Do you have it to HSPA/GSM (auto connect) set? [Sorry if it's not exactly the same, I don't have the N900 model]
My friend pointed this out to me just before I saw your message, the options available are only wcdma/gsm hspa isn't an option. Im guessing from my limited knowledge that this is the problem, what is it I would need to do to fix this? thanks again.

Actually, I asked my friend who has the N900, he's reporting the same as you. So no problem in that.
There must be something else that can be isolated to find what's going on. You can try to upgrade the phone to the latest modem by flashing the latest 4.4.2 ROM.
Okay, what would be the best way to flash the latest ROM? Would this be a custom ROM or is there a way to get the official one? Thanks again.
Edit: I have now tried putting Dr Ketans rom on it, telling it to use the ROMs modem, and that still didnt fix the problem. I have also tried flashing some other modems from the GSM modems collection thread but the problems persist. The symptoms are as follows:
Frequently looses signal
only ever shows the E or G symbol for mobile internet connection (whereas on my other phone with the same sim it instantly gets full signal and shows H+ or 3G)
the phone has also never been able to lock onto a GPS location it only ever shows searching for GPS in the notifications bar.
Hi guys,
It's been a while since I've been having weak or no signal (one bar or maximum two everywhere all the time), the funny thing is showing the coverage bars even when there's no sim !
Below are attachments of informations for device. Thanks in advance.

The firmware that you are using is a leak and the baseband is of android 4.4.2. It's normal that your phone is a lil bit crazy. Install this APP and add some screenshots for avoid problems and I will tell ya what firmware you have to flash via ODIN.
A device always shows coverage bars without a SIM. It's the Emergency Network. 112, 999, 911 or whatever your local equivalent is, you don't need a SIM to call the Emergency number.
Switch to GSM only mode. Sometimes in areas where coverage is weak LTE/Automatic mode doesn't work well.

Your IMEI is your phone's equivalent of a social security number, NEVER share it with the public.

You will have to flash one android Lollipop Firmware coz your bootloader is updated. Your CSC (country code) is BTU (UK) but doesn't have android 5.0 still. I recommend you flash this firmware for example via ODIN. Good luck and tell me how it worked for ya. Remember dial *#1234# when the flashing process finish and have to appear:
AP: N9005XXUGBOB6
CP: N9005XXUGBOB6
CSC: N9005XEOGBOA4
Reflash the firmware if not.

You won't need to downgrade/upgrade your modem manually. It'll happen automatically when you upgrade the firmware.
Since Spain (Vodafone) hasn't released the 5.0.1 update for the GT-I9506 yet, you should flash another one.
Theoretically, any region's firmware should work.
Go to Sammobile.com/firmwares and type GT-I9506.
Flash any firmware that isn't associated with a carrier.
From what I can see, Nordic Countries, Slovakia and Greece have unbranded I9506 firmwares.
Keep in mind, if your phone is ever sent for warranty, they might not accept it because the CSC will change.
So this is entirely up to you.

All the firmwares are identical, only difference is the origin country and obviously the CSC.
Since the firmwares are identical, they're all stable and SamMobile doesn't upload unstable ROMs, all the ROMs on are fully developed and are completely stable.

CSC stands for Customer Sales Code
CSC varies depending on who sold the phone to you, was it through a carrier or was it from a retail store?
For example, the CSC for Italy is ITV and XEF for France.
The CSC for Spain is PHE, but that's if you bought your phone from a retail store.
However, since your phone is from a carrier (your first post shows ATL as your CSC)
ATL is also the CSC for Spain but ATL is for Vodafone.
Suppose your phone gets damaged and needs to be sent in for warranty to get repaired/replaced.
The guy at the service center will check the phone and if the CSC is different from ATL, he will refuse to take your phone as it has technically been tampered with, in the sense that the original ROM has been removed and you have flashed the ROM of another country on your phone. There is nothing wrong with having the ROM for another country, but the service center people don't accept your phone unless it has the original CSC, which in your case is ATL.
BUT, if your phone ever does go for repair etc, do change the CSC before sending it.
You can use this guide to change your CSC.
It's fairly easy and you should be done quickly.
Enjoy flashing a new ROM on your phone and enjoy the 5.0.1 experience on that amazing Snapdragon-800 processor.

Of course there is.
Google change your CSC and a big XDA thread should come up in the Galaxy Grand section. That has a full tutorial in it, however before you do that.
Is the ATL CSC still installed on your phone even after flashing the firmware of a different country?
Check by dialing *#1234# in the dialer and post the stuff written in the CSC field here.

Dear Murtaza,
I hope you don't mind I am sending you a private message regarding my brother's phone.
He purchased it new. The Phone was operator blocked.
The store did something to the phone to allow him using the local telecom sim card.
Since my brother was not able to upgrade to new os versions. He gets the notifications but a soon as he executes the upgrade process on the air, an error shows up saying that the phone has been modified.
I have attached all the phone information collected using PHONE INFO.
Kindly, let me know whether I Can use the same Rom NEE to upgrade his phone and if safe doing it.
Is there anything else to do to correct the manual upgrade process?
Many thanks my friend

His phone is an I9505, so the process is exactly the same.
Just replace the I9506 firmware with the I9505 firmware the tutorial and you're all set. However, since device status is modified, after flashing the firmware through Odin, you should do a Factory Reset.
You can use any regions ROM as long as it's unbranded. The manual update process is exactly the same as it is on your phone.
Once you've downloaded the 5.0.1 firmware, flash it and let me know how its worked out for you.
