When I first got the mt4g, it used to ask me if I want to play the video in the browser or in the YouTube app.
Now it no longer gives me a choice, when I'm browsing a page with an embedded YouTube video and click play, it plays in the page.
How do I make it so when I click on the videos they play straight to the external app like they used to?

Try cleaning the browser defaults and the youtube defaults via the apps menu.

press menu>settings>applications>Manage applications, then select all from the top menu... then select youtube and clear data and clear cache, then find internet and clear data and cache for it, and you should be golden!!!
The browser says "No defaults set", and I cleared YouTube defaults, but it still plays within the browser.

I cleared all data for both and it didnt work. Does it have to do with the update to the full version of Adobe Flash? I think before it was using Flash Lite, which forced videos to load in the YT app?
hi when i see a youtube video and i tap the bar to move forward the video crash.i have changed 3-4 roms but the problem still remains..
Works for me with Aurora 2.04, just tested it. Did you try in your browser or with the youtube app?
Try wiping Cache and Dalvik-Cache. If it doesn't help try reinstalling your Youtube app. If that doesn't help wipe Data (Make backup first or your app data gets lost!).
the problem solved,i download the youtube application and i check a video,i tap the bar forward and backwards a lot of times and the video plays perfectly!
I thought that youtube application is based app of every android ROM Suprised
This issue is related to the application "Feedly".
I watched a video with the browser of Feedly. I stopped watching it in the middle by pressing the system "back" key, but the video was still playing in the background (I could hear the sound), even if I exited/restarted Feedly. Amazingly, even if I turned off the screen, the video kept playing. It seemed that there is no way to stop the sound of that video, so finally I restarted the phone.
Anyone encountered the same issue?
The webpage/feed I was browsing:
http://www.universetoday.com/103719/how-can-we-stop-an-asteroid/
You can reproduce the problem by add the rss feed to your Feedly reader and play the video of that webpage with the internal browser of Feedly.
With the Chrome browser, after exiting the browser the video won't play in the background.
Android version: 4.2.2

What amazes me is that, in the past I had been looking for a way to play some video on Youtube in the background and didn't found a good solution. Someone said that that is not possible. But now I find that this is indeed possible.
Feedly is most likely the issue, try contacting the developer via email in the Play Store about this.
You can force stop the app in the settings or by pressing the recent key, press and hold Feedly, press "App info" and then press "Force Stop".

Hey,
I've got rooted galaxy s5 with OmegaRom installed on it(latest versio) and I have an issue!
Whenever I try to watch a video from the gallery it says cannot run this video.
Now,its a video that I have recorded from the camera app so there was not sppoused to be any problem...
Now I think I figured it out...
After cleaning cache of all related apps which didnt help,I downloaded BS Player.
Now as an app which replaces an other app,I expected the phone to ask me which app to use - gallery one or BS Player...Suprisingly it didnt!
There is any chance i just dont have the ability to run video's on the phone because I dont have the app?
If so,someone can send me a link to download it?
Thanks! :good:

If you record a video with the stock camera it's supposed to be watchable in the gallery app. Maybe it's an Omega related bug. Try VLC player, try resetting defaults in the gallery app's info in settings.

BUMP
BUMP...Anyone?
I was having a problem watching downloaded movies on my stock OPT on Google Play Movies - the movie would randomly freeze at certain points and not go any further. Tried clearing the app cache, re-downloading the movies, restart etc. Nothing worked. Then I tried turning on Use Awesome Player in Developer Options and the problem went away immediately.
