I have been using Lollipop (rooted it) for only a week now.
And yes, On 3G data my battery drains fast.
On Wifi its good.
May be i'll try using Servicely next week fully and compare the battery life

Google : what does gl mean when in trouble? Answer : it may refer to good luck.
Try to do a factory reset. If it doesn't help they try flashing another rom.

Did you update your bootloader and modem along with the rom? Obviously a data wipe too.

Google Play services battery drain

Seen various fixes for this. Just wonder which is the best fix available. It's always top of the battery usage for my phone. Tried two different touchwiz roms and same thing with both. Thanks
flash leankernel

I thought Google Play Services was part of GmsCore.apk, and other google apps.
I'm confused why you'd tell him to flash a kernel for a question he asked that is rom related.

i had heavy drain by Play Services on stock kernel and after flashing lean (made for battery saving) it was gone.
@nijom can you plz give me details on how to flash it ?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
Tried flashing it but rom won't boot. Tried flashing it twice and clearing cache etc. Same problem
The file i flashed was lk_hlteeurv6.3-.zip. Is this the right file?
I've an n9005 which originally came with stock rom from Vietnam but the ROM I'm using (Norma note 5) has csc of BTU (UK, selected during aroma install)
Any ideas how to get it working?

Well I didn't realise lean wasn't compatible with 5.1.1. But downloaded idle kernel (fork of lean kernel) and although battery life is better google services is still top battery drain

That' because google services is part of the rom, not the kernel as i said in my previous post

What Kind of fail? Error message?
if you have updated to "coj5" or newer builds of 5.1.1 then you can not go back to kitkat or even previous builds of 5.1.1 or 5.0.1. thats why you get "failed" error in odin. unfortunately there is no way to downgrade as of now because coj5 locks the bootloader.

Damn I just downgraded a few days ago with exactly the COJ5 version. I've also heard that some people can't downgrade but it seems like I never had a problem with this.
Maybe if i had such a problem I would try to install a custom ROM / other bootloader with Odin first to see if works with a stock kitkat rom after.

Help please me : i9505 or e300k :(

Recently i've bought a s4 but i've noticed something . when i enter to about device it shows me that my phone is i9505
but when i enter to Download mode it shows me that my version is e300k... So what's exactly wrong with that ?
also it's running lollipo 5.0.1 and i'm not really happy with it (battery drain & cpu heat) i wish i could downgrade to 4.4.2
It is what download mode says it is, period.
You can try to downgrade, but it won't always succeed.

I'm a custom ROM person. And I don't believe there will be a huge difference in battery life if you downgrade. It's probably some placebo.
