I wan on X-note 7 rom
I tried 4.4 aosp rom
I restored nandroid backup of xnote 7
everything fine , no fc etc
But some apps cant write to internal sdcard like whatsapp, Astro, downloading files etc.
Samsung apps my files and Gallery can read write internal sdcard without any problem.
Help!:crying:
I am having same problem. After I restored back to stock many apps were having trouble downloading and accessing the internal memory. For example my GTA San Andreas save files were inaccessible and Torrent downloaders stop being able to download any .torrent files from within the app. Please someone help us both. I am using a Note 3 N900T.
EDIT: I solved the issue by formatting my internal storage and reinstalling the rom that i was on. I would advise that you backup your internal storage to your computer then format and place the files back on the Internal Storage. Also make sure you do a fresh install of the rom you were on. I already tried backing up apps using Titanium Backup but that app wouldnt read internal storage either. If you can change where it stores backup data and try amybe it will work. Good Luck!
On my I337 (rooted with SAFESTRAP 3.71), my STOCK ROM DATA partition is 9970MB with CACHE PARTITION AT 2046MB. I'm not sure how these were set (loaded a base 4.3 with ODIN), but when trying to load HYPERDRIVE in ROM-SLOT, TWRP shows only 12MB free! Nothing is on my device (like music, big files, etc), because I use the 32G external memory. My question is this (based on all I read), is it possible the STOCK ROM size might be reduced if I do a FACTORY/DATA/CACHE RESET and reinstall my backup from TWRP? Not sure what is consuming space and if you can't repartition it without losing the root...I'm not sure which way to proceed being I got this far. Any help regarding this would be greatly appreciated.
PS: the storage indication from within system shows: system 6.26G, used space 1.18G, cache 66MB, misc file 353MB, avail space 8.15G

The stock slot will never be reduced as it's the basic internal storage. Safestrap doesn't partition the internal storage, it makes image files where it holds all the slots on the internal storage. The 12mb thing is a glitch and i don't remember how to fix it if possible.
No space for adding custom ROM (S4, i337)

Well, you guys would know. If there is a lead or something you can think of regarding the "glitch"...it would be greatly appreciated. Just asking, is it possible the STOCK ROM size/usage might be reduced if I do a FACTORY/DATA/CACHE RESET and reinstall my backup from TWRP? If so, which ones (ie. just Cache, Data, or Dalvik) so that I stay rooted and can restore my backup? Thanks in advanced.

The size of the stock slot doesn't change, and shouldn't. Even if you restore a ROM slot to the stock slot, it will use the full space of the phone.
Only 12mb free for rom-slot1

So perhaps I'm not asking the right question??? What would limit the ability to create/activate ROM SLOT1, if what you say (the STOCK SLOT) has no effect on the space available? Could it be a ghost remnant from MF3? Seems the question has been asked with no resolution?
hello people, i need to know a thing, not a major bug or high damage stuff.
when i boot into recovery (twrp) and format everything, including internal, i need to reboot again into recovery to get internal memory access via MTP mount. thats ok, the thing is, after i reboot, get access, move my new rom to internal and flash it.
after first boot, when i go on internal memory i didnt see my ROM.ZIP file there, but the space that it ocuped is there, in other words, when i format internal i get all my ~10GB internal, after first boot into the rom i can see my internal memory as ~8GB free, but the ~2GB ROM.ZIP file isnt there.
is it a mapping/partition table bug? where can i find my file again?
I am running stock rom on Android version 5.0. I have rooted and installed T WRP recovery. After I did a backup through TWRP to my internal phone storage, I cannot find the folder where the backup is stored yet my file manager shows is that the storage has been used.
Secondly, I put in a SD card and performed another backup (storing it to the sdcard). After TWRP completed that backup was able to find the folder for it easily using my file manager. I still cannot find the location of the first backup that I did. And it's taking up 10 gigs worth of space on my phone's internal memory.
Has anyone else had a problem with TWRP?
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?
Any input would help. Thanks.

Should be in twrp folder. Just if you can't find it, enter recovery and delete the backup in internal storage. Just keep the 1 in external.

Hi all, thanks for kind support,
I've a 900V CID11 bootloader locked, unrooted, I installed MM 6.0.1 by safestrap.
MY phone is 16GB but it looks I've really small space for apps, someone can kindly describe me how the storage is allocated?
As I guess reading around, the safestrap eat me 2,5gb for some reason, then there is the rom space, then the "sdcard" folder for data. On sdcard I still have 500MB available but I think the phone doesn't want to use them for installing apps. I've 32GB SD but it looks also that with uroot phone I can't move apps there.
Any way to expand the space for installing apps? Any way to repartition the space? Use the 2,5gb of safestrap? Maybe repeat the procedure using flashfire?
By now I've a serious limitation. Thank you for help
I ask kind help, thank you
Well your only option is to look up how to use your 32gb as card as adoptable storage

thanks for answer,
may you kindly explain me breifly how the whole storage is allocated on the phone memory? What can it change if I'll have root (what can I edit/reallocate) and if one day someone will unlock the bootloader and I can load everything? (can I use the supposed 2,.5GB safestrap partition as system?)
Thank you
help needed to understand, thank you
do you need to know how to use the adoptable storage? And sorry for taking so long
I would know how 1)
Android partize the internal memory,
2) why data wipe is not wiping the /sdcard folder (I'm speaking about intenal memory),
3) if there exist a ROM partition and if it the same of "System" or two different
4) if it is possible to edit files inside System and ROM with root permissions
5) if System has a rigid partition size, or depends on the quantity of internal, and which criteria is used to assign the space.
6) If gapps are all stored in System
7) Where the 3rd party apps are stored
8) Where folder data is located, and it's not /sdcard folder.
9) if safestrap eats 2,5GB of space and hide it from a file explorer.
10 ) if it's possible to reduce safestrap partiton
11) if the space used from safestrap reduces directly the "system" partition, or even "data" and "/sdcard"
12) if it's possible to edit the partitions size, for example I've a big SD card and I sould like to use the internal memory almost for installing apps.
Thank you a lot!!! I can't find such infos.. and that is quite amazing. You can answer briefly
somebody can help clear? Thank you
Hopefully somebody can reply me, thanks
Do you still need help
Yes please, I would know how Android works with the storage, I think there are some hidden partitions that I can't see with xplore, containing ROM.
Xplore tells I've 11GB internal memory (and the phone has 16, where are othere 4/5?)
And also tells that:
root total amount is 2,47 GB, free 16%of 11GB=1,7GB
Internal storage (SD card folder)= 1,44GB, , free 16%of 11GB=1,7GB
2,47+1,44+1,7=5,61, where are other 5GB to make 11GB?
I think I lost somewhee 9 GB!
Thank you for help!
This might explain it more

What you are saying sounds about right with safestrap and rom slots. And 16gb just isn't all that much space to work with.
Root Essentials will allocate your sd card for you. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.superthomaslab.rootessentials
Also, with safestrap...are you using the main rom slot to boot into? if not, you should, then delete the other rom slots, that will free up a ton of space. plus if i were you, i would get rid of safestrap and flash TWRP on your phone. http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...t/rd-unlocking-galaxys-s5-bootloader-t3337909
Good luck
I thank you very much for your kind help!
Let's proceed by order, ok about the real 14,6GB, but does the ROM shows itself in xplore in the root folder? I think it should.. like I can see C:\ on the windows OS with all the system files. Or does Android hide the ROM files?
I agree about Safestrap caused it, I used it to mount the Android 6, I unfortunately have a CID11 S5 and I can't have it rooted, how can I recover the Safestrap wasted space? I think I'm using only the main ROM, I followed the procedure to root Lollipop and upgrade with Safestrap to MM.
Thank you a lot!
Any help here? Thank you a lot!
