I wan on X-note 7 rom
I tried 4.4 aosp rom
I restored nandroid backup of xnote 7
everything fine , no fc etc
But some apps cant write to internal sdcard like whatsapp, Astro, downloading files etc.
Samsung apps my files and Gallery can read write internal sdcard without any problem.
Help!:crying:
I am having same problem. After I restored back to stock many apps were having trouble downloading and accessing the internal memory. For example my GTA San Andreas save files were inaccessible and Torrent downloaders stop being able to download any .torrent files from within the app. Please someone help us both. I am using a Note 3 N900T.
EDIT: I solved the issue by formatting my internal storage and reinstalling the rom that i was on. I would advise that you backup your internal storage to your computer then format and place the files back on the Internal Storage. Also make sure you do a fresh install of the rom you were on. I already tried backing up apps using Titanium Backup but that app wouldnt read internal storage either. If you can change where it stores backup data and try amybe it will work. Good Luck!

I have just flashed up from 2.2 to 2.5 neutrino and all my data has moved to emmc rather than sdcard, where it used to be. the phone now no longer reads it, and so i am left with none of my apps, or titanium backups usable or anything. in astro i cant move the files back to sdcard. can anyone help please? thanks XD
I think you can go into cm7 settings application then try checking the use internal storage
thanks, but i have tried that to no effect
Reboot afterwards
Well, first day I got my tab i rooted and such.
Tried a rom (wich wiped everything obviously)
installed a couple of apps then made a backup with Titanium.
decided to go back to stock rom for the time being (wait for more bugless roms)
When i tried to restore my Backups, everything was gone.
question is, Does the backup just go in general internal storage, wich is not calculated as a SD card, so gets formated everytime we wipe??
Im used to backup and wipe, on my phone wich has internal and external SD, so no problems there.
Any input ?
If I understand right, there is no separate storage on the N10. I think /sdcard is basically just an emulated folder sitting on the data partition, so anything that wipes data, will wipe the sdcard. Might want to wait for someone else to give their input on this though.
As for backups, at the most I usually just backup app's (apk files) and put them in a folder on my computer, then just reinstall all of them with Android Commander.
Im familiar with flashing new roms and have done so a few times, i just want to get familiar with keeping my data on my phone.
is the externalsd card folder on my phones internal memory wiped when i format data/factory reset and format cache?
what is the best method for keeping all my pictures I have taken and downloads folder. (are these in extsd folder?)
I currently use Helium to backup SMS/Wifi settings/home screen/dictionary.
Also, does my google account backup what apps i have, can they be restored properly when going through the new setup wizard screens after flashing my new rom? or will i need to manually reinstall all apps?
Does titanium backup, able to backup my pictures taken/screenshots/downloads?

Hi,
1.is the external sd card folder on my phones internal memory wiped when i format data/factory reset and format cache?
Everything on the internal storage gets wiped with a factory reset.
The external sd card is not affected.
2.what is the best method for keeping all my pictures I have taken and downloads folder. (are these in extsd folder?)
Direct the phones settings to store your photos on the external sd card.
Downloads should be moved with a file explorer.
3.Also, does my google account backup what apps i have, can they be restored properly when going through the new setup wizard screens after flashing my new rom? or will i need to manually reinstall all apps?
As long as you ticked Google to back up your apps , they should re-install themselves.
4.Does titanium backup, able to backup my pictures taken/screenshots/downloads?
No.
Manually transfer them to the external sd card with a file explorer.
I have an S4 with OmegaRom v42 5.0.1 and as you can see below it is showing as internal memory almost full but I cannot find out where the space is.
when I updated from 4.3.1 to 5.0.1 I could still al ot of the old system files so I am guessing they are still around.
ES Explorer is not able to tell me where this wasted space is.
Is there anything I can do from recovery to clear some room?
Or another app which can tell me what exactly is taking up all this space?
Oh I also have FolderMount installed and I have some games which are stored on the SD card, that might be the reason for the erroneous size.
What recovery are you using?
I had a similar problem when going from GPE to CM roms and vice versa. Game data in the android/obb folder would disappear, but still use space. And I couldn't find it using a file explorer. Returning back to the previous rom (on which the game was downloaded) made the data reappear.
I also got the "system is running out of space" message from flashing a kernel (which was in beta).
TWRP
Pull all the data you can off internal storage and format the internal storage using TWRP's wipe option. Afterward, put all the items back on the internal storage.
Will I copy all internal data from within TWRP to memory card, wipe it, then copy back to internal also from within TWRP?
It's probably best to do it from within TWRP and its mount menu as that way none of your apps are running.
Post No. 3000. Yay me! LOL.
Hello,
so I got this N9005 on 5.0 Lollipop with AryaMod, but this issue happened even on stock firmware.
I got I rooted, twrp working, and I can copy files on extSdcard but some apps like Go Backup and Restore cannot use extSdcard as a storage disk. Camera works fine, and SD Fix for writing on SdCard says it can't do anything as it seems my card is not protected! QuickPic viewer can delete, copy, move files, actually almost everything works with extSdcard.
Well, I like to play with settings, remove system apps etc. so backups are important. I did nandroid backup and it sits on sd card, twrp doesn't have any issues with it, thus Go Backup has. I use Go Launcher, have many many custom icons, icon labels, etc. so Go Backup is best. I never had such issue before on other phones with 2.3.6 android.
What could be wrong? If apk for checking write permissions says it is ok but it is not working, it is weird.
Card was formatted in this device, and when I wanted to copy my stuff back after formatting, Total Commander put some popup asking if it has to mount sd card in write mode, I tap yes and it started to copy files. Why this popup shows up when sd card has no restrictions?
Please ask for other info needed for this investigation.
Could be the app having it's own limitation in regards to writing to SD card.
Also, use Titanium Backup for backing up and restoring applications. Does the work way better and is quite easy to use as well.
