Hello folks, I was recently just messing around with Roms for my LG G2 (International) version. I forgot which one was my default rom, so I looked it up through the trick where you enter your IMEI and it comes up with the latest firmware on the LG site.
Anyways, I don't really like the update with the knock code function as it seems to cause the knock on function to be very temperamental where as it works perfect with the initial kit kat release.
When I try and flash this file:
http://storagecow.eu/Xda/LG G2/Stock/Hong Kong D802/HK KitKat 32GB D80220A_00.kdz
In the "firmware update" screen it displays a big red "ROOTED" message. However, If I flash the firmware that was linked off the LG site , it displays as "UNROOTED"
It's not a big issue, but I am kind of cautious as if the device suddenly dies for whatever reason, I could be out of warranty if they check for such things. .
Does anybody know what causes this issue? Thanks.

Hey guys,
I've upgraded my Lg G2 D801 (t-mobile) and some of the apps updated as well. The memo app (or quick memo) had the possibility of an overlay mode, where the note kept transparent after closing the app so I would always look to what I wrote. This feature is not present after upgrading my phone so I came to ask you how can I downgrade this app. I downloaded one quick memo and tried to simply install it, but it was unsuccessful. I would like to point out that when I open the app manager I can see one "Memo" of and older version under the disabled tab; However, I can't disable the QuickMemo+ and able the older one.
Is it even possible? Is there any alternative for this app so I can write something and keep it always in my screen?
I appreciate your help,
Luiz

Hi all,
I got a notification on my G2 D802 to update to 5.0 lollipop a while ago but wondering if its safe to do so. I goggled it and found out that some people had some major issues with battery drain and bad wifi performance. Anyway I proceeded to download the LG PC suite to still give it a try however I got this message on startup. " Android 5.0 Lollipop guide
Date : 2014.11.27
For phone or tablet with Android 5.0 Lollipop or later,
phone or tablet will not back up or restore properly due to security on Android.
Refrain from use.
"
Now I am really thinking twice lol.. Can anyone shed some light on this? Is it safe to update? Can anyone did it before can advice me?
Updated without problems. I even didn't need to do factory reset after update, zero problems. On the other hand, I didn't find any new worthy functionality that I couldn't live without. I like new design of quick switches because I'm partly colorblind and those on KitKat were hard to read for me. And if you need to make selfies in dark there is great function to use white screen as lamp.
Thanks for your reply. If for some reason i dont like it can i roll back through pc suite?
My galaxy s4 i9500 had kitkat installed and it was updated to lollipop last year. Thereafter in september while installing ota update phone restarted and suddenly back and menu key were gone blank.
Trued every possible trouble shoot available on xda and other sites to no avail.
1. Installed Stock kitkat again.
2. Installed other lollipop firmwares.
3. Installed cyanogenmod 12.1
4. Wiped phone many times using twrp.
5. Change of strip cable also did not work.
6. *#2663# menu shows blank in place of touch key firmware version/update.
Please if somebody could only figure out what has actually turned the phone like this..even if this is not solvable..at least i should know what went wrong..
Thanks.
There is a similar problem with the GT-I9505 models too.
It's probably related to a faulty update or something.
I don't know if there is anything you can do without professional help.
What you have to do is: you have to force the touch key firmware to update somehow.

There was a thread around here that might have some things you could try. I can't find it, but you can do a forum search.
It was for the GT-I9505, but some of it can probably be applied to yours.
Otherwise you might need the help of a professional since they have the necessary tools.

I have gone through that thread it is about incompatible Touch Key and Part Key Firmware Version. I have already tried those fixes but no success. Even in that thread issue is not solved yet.
In my case that dialog box for touch key and parts key firmware update doesnot appear in *#2663#. :crying:
Hi, after I updated my H870 to V20 I have developers Options bug. Everytime I'm trying to open developers options when my phone is set to different language then English, it crashes. I have to switch my phone to ebglish everytime I want to open developer options. Whem my system language is English there is no crashes.
Anyone know how to fix it without changing language everytime I want to switch adb debugging?
Why did you switch to an Android version not customized to your phone?
Oh, I missed one letter. I updated my phone to v20G and then v20H. I think it's not even possible to flash G6 with LG V20 unmodified firmware. ?

That's not what I meant. The V20 and the G6 are different phones. You've been around long enough to know the pitfalls of flashing an OS to a phone not meant to use it. I would suggest that either you reflash the stock OS or go for a modified OS meant for the G6.
I know that today is 1st of April but it's not funny anymore.
I flashed my LG G6 (H870) with firmware version v20G, not firmware from LG V20 (H990 or any other variant).
