Hello folks, I was recently just messing around with Roms for my LG G2 (International) version. I forgot which one was my default rom, so I looked it up through the trick where you enter your IMEI and it comes up with the latest firmware on the LG site.
Anyways, I don't really like the update with the knock code function as it seems to cause the knock on function to be very temperamental where as it works perfect with the initial kit kat release.
When I try and flash this file:
http://storagecow.eu/Xda/LG G2/Stock/Hong Kong D802/HK KitKat 32GB D80220A_00.kdz
In the "firmware update" screen it displays a big red "ROOTED" message. However, If I flash the firmware that was linked off the LG site , it displays as "UNROOTED"
It's not a big issue, but I am kind of cautious as if the device suddenly dies for whatever reason, I could be out of warranty if they check for such things. .
Does anybody know what causes this issue? Thanks.

I'm currently using kitkat on my international LG G2 which was bought from Emirates so it has software version D80220a-AME-XX (got this on air like 2 months ago) but I want to install a fresh new copy of KitKat UK on it. Before downloading that hefty update file for the Kikat version of UK, I wanna know if the updater will allow me to update from Kitkat UAE to Kitkat UK without any problems or it will deny it for whatever reason(s)? (e.g. a reason such as that it allows only updates from an older version to a newer version but not from newer to newer...etc)
Thanks in advance!
The reason for trying to escape this version is that I issue some weird stuff with network coverage being faulty for some time and I realize this only by coincidence by trying to call any one on my list but I get a message like "network error" with any number I attempt to call so after I rebooted and restarted, the error disappeared & also got a bunch of text messages informing me of missed called from people tried to call during that error which I realized by coincidence!

The answer is "yes, it is possible, as long as you do it manually".
The official LG Updater will not flash the UK firmware to your device, there is no option to tell it which firmware to install or upgrade to. It picks the firmware according to your IMEI.
You have to follow this guide. Good luck.
Cheers.
Hello,
I got a brand new D802 from Hong Kong a few days ago.
It was working good until I did an update that was suggested to me by the LG PC Suite.
The upgrade was from D80220B to D80220D, after the update was finished successfully, the device restarted and since then, the touch screen isn't working properly.
The meaning of it that I can't even slide to open the device because the screen acts "crazy" pressing multiple times and not in the correct place like if its calibration is ruined.
I tried doing factory reset but it didn't help, I even tried flashing the KDZ file, but the result was the same.
I put it in a shop where they told me that the digitizer and the screen needed to be replaced.
My questions are:
1. How can the digitizer get ruined from doing an update using the official software?
2. If I get a new device (I bought it on eBay and I'm sending the device for a replacement), and I'll do the update again, will it happen again or is it a faulty device that was doomed to be ruined?
Many thanks,
Ice

i guess it was faulty mate if you went from stock>>stock . everyone upgrades nowdays using Ota or flash tool or pc suite without problem. i recommend you ota if you on stock without root/recovery etc.. else KDZ download and manual flash with lg flash tool.

Thanks.
When you say "faulty" you mean the device?
I can't do anything with the device because the screen doesn't work anymore, even if I flash stock rom from scratch.

I think you have refurbished LG G2. It is not D802. Open your phone battery cover there you will find exact model of your LG G2.
I know

Hi Everyone,
I had received an update on PC suite for 5.0.2 lollipop and 65% of the way through it had stopped working and therefore my phone is stuck in Firmware Update mode and now I can get out of it.
I wasn't rooted but on the bottom of the box written in red it was saying ROOTED.
Previously I was using the 4.4.2 20h version
Please can you help as I don't really want to take it into LG as they probably will just ignore it

Please tell me your variant and your carrier, and I can help you out.
I had recently bought LG G2 D802 phone this month and I wanted to upgrade it to possibly Android 4.4 Kitkat from Android 4.2 Jellybean So, I went to 'Update Center > Software Update in phone settings.
The update is known as:
"v20a-MAR-07-2014 (534.84 MB)"
Firstly, I would like to know whether this Kitkat or lollipop or whatever update it is?
After a few megabytes of downloading, the native download manager reports an error "Cannot download" and there's no way to resume it from where it left. I have tried this process many times and every time it failed and I am sure there's nothing wrong with my Wi-fi.
While I was looking for an alternative way to manually grab this update via PC, I tried "LG PC Suite" to check for updates which said that: "2 upgrades are available" and the latest version is lollipop as the picture in attachment shows. but I only wish to upgrade to Kitkat OS. Is possible that I just disconnect my phone from PC Suite after it finishes applying only just one upgrade and not the lollipop upgrade?
Most likely it's Kitkat. Lollipop for G2 is named like V30A, V30B, V30D and so on. You can download KDZ file for your device and flash it.
URL: http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=123123123
You have to replace 123123123 with your device's IMEI.

You can only download the newest available KDZ on the linked page. Probably not KK, since it's not the newest available for the D802.
Search around a bit. You should be able to find the KK KDZ for the region you want linked somewhere on xda. Just refer to the sticky post regarding flashing a KDZ.
And no you shouldn't disconnect your device during the update. Also the DL is failing because KK isn't available through LG servers anymore.
Happy upgrading

It sounds like a bad news that they have taken down the link from their Official website. So far the phone is working just fine and I am not sure if I should even update the phone to anything since many of the users from the forums all over the internet (as I have read) are complaining about how the updates ruined their phone (I assume especially the G2) and brought so many disappointing bugs to deal with.

AFAIK most bugs plaguing KK got fixed in the end. I remember downgrading from KK to JB because of some audio issues. They are now not present anymore, and KK is as stable as it gets. It even performed better than JB (the ui used to animate way too quickly so it looked laggy, and fixed the microstuttering in most apps).
I would personally recommend KK. Have had some problems with LP, where it wouldn't run as smoothly and the battery life was a tad worse, so now I'm back on KK.
TLDR: Samsung N920F seems to be a N920T, and you can flush ROM from N920T.
Recently my friends asked to help them with their Galaxy Note 5 which was bought somewhere in China. It was stuck at Android 6, with last updates from 2016, and seemed to have some malware (factory reset did not help).
It was really strange to see model N920F - I checked many threads here, and everyone says that there should be no such version as N920F:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/help/note-5-n920f-n920t-t3310411
https://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/help/settings-sm-n920f-boot-loader-sm-n920p-t3776224
https://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/help/note-5-sm-n920f-eu-variant-please-help-t3527449
https://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/help/sm-n920f-stock-roms-t3482405
https://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/help/note-5-european-version-sale-sm-n920f-t3190929
Unfortunately, not even one of those topics found any reason for this or solution for updating. So I tried to find out the true and update phone myself.
At first, I booted to recovery. And there I saw that it model name was nobleltetmo - same as for N920T.
So I tried to install TWRP from N920T via Odin. TWRP successfully installed but phone stopped booting and TWRP only booted but did not work - it told me about bootloader version mismatch. So I found out that phone's bootloader version was N920TUVU4DPK6. So I tried to find a working firmware for this bootloader version and found it on xda: https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...eral/stock-n920t-stock-n920tuvu4dpk6-t3518252
Fortunately, I could enter download mode and flush it with Odin. After it, phone worked fine, and now it was officially N920T. But even better things awaited - after updating it managed to fetch fresh updates! So I downloaded and installed them. Phone updated... And found new updates... And about 10 times again like this. Finally, I got the latest official Samsung Firmware with Android 7.0 - and it works flawlessly. Even Googe Play, NFC and banking services. I suppose that after this I could flush TWRP again because bootloader version also updated - but official firmware was quite okay so I didn't want to set up Lineage OS.
By the way, I think that I could find latest firmware and flush it with Odin in one go - but I didn't succeed in finding it.
Please beware that this N920F turned to be N920T - but your one can be another (N920V or N920P, for example)!
Now I am pretty sure that F in model version stands for "F***ed up".
So check bootloader version and be accurate.

I think you can try this rom: https://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/general/rom-lineageos-15-1-note-5-android-8-1-t3737405
