[Q] Problem with *#*#4636#*#* after upgrading to lollipop - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Before upgrading to lollipop, I used to use *#*#4636#*#* code, for selecting GSM/WCDMA/LTE manually. I upgraded it to lollipop last night, but the code does not work now.
Does every body have any experience? Is there any replaced code or app?

I didn't have GSM/WCDMA/LTE in network mode on kitkat so i used an app called 4G LTE Switch which does what the *#*#4636#*#* code does.
But after the lollipop update I got GSM/WCDMA/LTE in mobile network menu so I don't need it anymore.
You should check to see if you now have the setting available,if not try that app or some other apps that do the same thing.

Yeap, I checked it; unfortunately the upgraded ROM does not have GSM/WCDMA/LTE to select. Thus i need to use *#*#4636#*#* again

WCDMA preferred/only since update (2/03)

I installed the new update earlier today on my unrooted phone. I can't remember if I left it on 'WCDMA only' from the other day, or if the new update changed it to this. Can some one that has an unrooted phone with the new update check this for me? Just press *#*#4636#*#* --> phone information --> preferred network type (drop list). What was selected?

WCDMA preferred
I had it set to "GSM Only" before the update and that setting was persistent after the update, so I don't think the update changed the setting.

[Q] LTE lost after KK update

I have a G2 d802 originally with the Taiwan rom, Im using it in southeastern Europe and had LTE just fine on the original JB 4.2.2. rom, the selection option was not present in the network mode settings, but after selecting it in the 3845#*802# menu it was working just fine, after I received the OTA update to KK 4.4.2 I couldn't get it to work again, when I selected LTE only option in the secret menu it wouldn't register to the network, and all the bands were not selected and I couldn't select them in any way.
So I tried to flash the KK EUR ([ROM][D802]80220B EUR Open KITKAT Flashable ZIP With Custom Recovery Working! rom hoping it would solve this issue, now I have the option to select the LTE/3g/GSM in network settings, but still can't get 4G, and when I try to enter the 3845#*802# menu and select LTE only option it gives me “not supported”.
I also tried to flash a few different modem firmwares but still the same situation.
Any idea what the issue is and a way to solve it?

If you are talking about the Device Information *#*#4636#*#* Option that forces to use LTE only. Then you must be rooted first then download Advanced Signal Status on Playstore.
But if you are talking about the natural way. Just go to Settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks > Network Mode, then set LTE/WCDMA/GSM

Unlocked GS7 Network Selection menu?

I have my GS7 unlocked. Working on AT&T Network, LTE fine. But at some point I will lose signal and then it won't connect to network until I restart the phone.
Then I noticed...I don't even have a network selection menu.
Is there a code to get to the menu manually and manually set it only connect to the gsm network modes.
Are you using the Stock G930P rom or the G930U one? Cause the G930U for what i've seen preforms the best once unlocked
Stock GH1 g930p....I didnt feel the need to flash the U version. But maybe I will.
I found an app that let me set to gsm/lte

What app?
FYI: Sprint PF1 firmware has network selection enabled, I believe it was disabled thereafter, just like hotspot and apn editing.
Anyway, the app was "Network Mode"

changing the network type on Nougat

Hi all.
I have the A2017. Before Nougat came out, I was using the US firmware (B29).
I was able to change to network type to LTE only using the service menu (*#*#4636#*#*).
Since 7.1.1 came, I began using the Original, Chinese ROM (currently using 7.1.1 B12).
I still have the same service menu, but the phone doesn't respond to any setting I set for the network type. Only when changing in the Dual Sim settings menu it does respond to my settings, but there is no LTE only setting there.
Can someone who uses the US B19 please check if it works for them? If it does, I will try to flash the US ROM.
Thanks.
Changes in that menu only apply to sim 1. If you're trying to edit sim2, then no go. Still works here (for sim1) on a2017u.

So you're using B19? Then I should too. Because I only have one sim, and it doesn't work for me at all.
I hope it's only related to the ROM and not to the modem, as I do have to keep the Chinese modem anyway.
I'm not sure how that menu works on a 2017G. You could try the app from the play store Network Signal Guru. There's an option in there call change RAT settings. That allows you to change network modes too. It does require root.
