Ordered it yesterday they shipped it overnight and I get a message today that UPS is trying to locate it. UPS and Tmobile are pointing fingers at each other. One company said they shipped it another one said they never picked up the package. Can You Guess Who Is Who? Took me 16 calls to tmobile for them to finally put in a lost item ticket and ship me another one over night. So now it'll be here on Monday!!! Maan I wanted to play with my new toy over the weekend. Good things come to those who wait I guess.:crying:

Last time this happened to me, TMO filed a ticket to just attempt to locate the phone... which took another two weeks.
SMH.
OP you might get lucky and end up with a free G4 when 2 will magically appear on Monday

No they don't. They sell products and services at a certain price. Don't want "screwed"? Don't buy said product or services.
I'm betting you're the type of person to find a wallet, remove cash, then return it or throw it back on the ground.

I got boned by vzw. I did po on 27th (before it offically opened in 28) and they messed up my order somehow. By the time the reached out to me to fix it - it was after 3pm so mine did not go out like everyone else's so mine will come 1 maybe 2 days late now. It took 1,5hrs & 3 people to fix the issue. Why? Because I ordered & paid full retail and that threw all of vzw into a loop they couldn't rectify.
I did eek a $25 credit out of them for all of the hassle. So I suppose that is some consolation - but I'd rather have the phone Monday given my schedule.

Now companies do get us alot but take forever to fix their mistakes but the last T-Mobile rep really took care of me credited me back the overnight shipping cost and even waived the 60 tax for the phone itself so yes if I end up getting two on Monday I will return one. She will be the one that saved them from me being devious if i do get two phones because the first 15 reps that I spoke to (and I do mean 15) lied and told me it was )a. On the truck for delivery or )b. It was same day shipping and delivery (I knew that was a lie). So they will screw you if you let them or don't catch them. Consistency with them is key I guess.
I got mine next day, but the package was cut open....phone was in and sealed so all is well...the return shipping bubble bag for my note edge for jump was missing tho

They said as long as the return label is used and phone well padded its ok, id suggest if anyone else has this issue and they use their own box to call CC and have them note on ur account

Right, like Verizon isn't screwing us when they took away our subsidized phones on unlimited data plans, which was one of the reasons we got that plan in the first place. Then you have other carriers that throttle data use after you sign up without being told about throttling. Believe me, carriers screw customers over all the time.
There is a huge difference between your two examples. T-Mobile likely has some sort of insurance for lost packages anyways.

I worked for Verizon as tech for 4 years and can tell you first hand they are greedy bastards. Their top management is rude and arrogant always competing for #1 positions at the cost of their employees and customers. I saw people get fired every month for bs stuff.
Also all they care is about the high earning customer who can pay that $500 a month cell bill and want to squeeze every last penny out of them. Sadly they do and get away with it and lock them in for 2 year contracts.

went to local sprint store to check out evo, was told new customers only will get first crack.premier customers can order phone.everyone else 2 to 3 month wait according to supply. store is in kenner la.
Something about this being your first post makes it extremely hard to believe
i went to my sprint store today to make sure everything was good for me to charge it to my account and guess what none of that was mentioned, it's first come first serve. this isn't at&t and this isn't some new iphone, i remember at&t screwed new customers that way over a new iphone.
actually, my sprint store said that new lines had first dibs, then upgrades/buyouts, and then outright purchases. based on a first come first serve bases per category. doesnt make much sense, unless they are going to just organize us like a bunch of kindergardners when we file in the store.
and my local store is only getting 9 phones. had 10 people on their "list", and only 4 were new lines.
Yay I'm a new line
My store is doing nothing of the sort. First come, first serve, simple as that.
My local store told me first-come-first-served. Glad I don't have to wait in line!
I went to Radio Shack two weeks ago to Pre-Order.
On Tuesday, I got confirmation for a 7:00AM appointment.
This evening I called to:
1) confirm they got the shipment. Answer: YEP, they are in the store.
2) confirm my appointment. Answer: Again... Yes "see you here".
I love Radio Shack customer service!

intouch
if you go to a intouch wireless store you can pre-deposit for a phone. i hooked up two for tomorrow and when i left he said they had 14 more. this was the woodinville, wa location.
it seems they are receiving anywhere from 15-25 phones for launch day.
i also got my name on the list at an official sprint store (which I won't be using it turns out) and when i went to visit the manager assured me that as long as i got my name on the list i was gonna get a phone. I was number 32 though and he did state that they were only going to get 30 originally but they had more ordered for everyone on the list so he said no worries. this was the northgate seattle, wa store.

Way to overreact bud. Like I said, Sprint corporate policy is strictly FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. If you don't get it tomorrow, you'll get it Monday or Tuesday.
I believe they make more commission of new lines and since they paid by commission they like to lie and tell customers new lines get first dibs.
So it does not surprise me some Sprint stores would do this.

Lol, actually no. Why a new line over an existing line? Simple: You are guaranteed to make the sale in a new line, because you're 100% sure the line is elig for the upgrade. Some existing lines like to say "But I've been with Sprint FOREVER, they OWE me this phone," and then you find out they aren't elig until NEXT MONTH. Existing lines with Sprint customers are a gamble because they're constantly trying to get something because of their tenure. New line, no fuss, just a sale.

Dude. Go to the BB in metairie by the mall if you want it. I pre ordered mine last friday and I'm getting it next week when the 2nd shipment comes in.
Sprint online ordering is shipping out today. Should have Monday, Tuesday at the latest. I spoke with a rep and she said the online orders are going in front of all the Sprint Telesales, they just process faster.
Sprints off contract price is less anyways.

Well, actually, his answer was extremely accurate. It does indeed make the most sense to limit stock to new customers; it earns the store more money, and the employees more money. That said... I don't agree with it from an ethical standpoint. I prefer the first-come, first-serve approach.
Though you definitely hit the nail on the head at the bolded line above
Sprint will not sell you the Epic unless its activated in store, so for you unboxers, take your cameras to the stores if you were planning an unboxing video
we'll see what the shack has to say about that
Why do they need to open my box and finger freak my new $500 phone just to activate it? Use the ESN# from the box and call it a day!

I believe Sprint mean it must be activated under a plan, not necessarily activating the phone itself. So if a person tries to come and buy one at full retail under no plan, they wont allow that.

Nope, the phone MUST be activated or it will not be sold, period lol. This is coming from an internal memo I received today
Quoted per memo "no cold sales allowed"
I don't mind them having to activate the phone on spot. It means that it will be usable more quickly.
But the dude at radioshack IS NOT going to be the one who opens the box and takes off the plastic etc. I will most likely go outside the store and take a moment to open it, then let them activate it.

Not from Sprint
talk to the rep explain your situation, sure they can make an exception for the commission they are getting
Activating it in store and a cold sale are two different things. Cold sale means it was sold to someone at full price and they don't have an account. You CAN however, sell the phone attached to someone's line, without actually turning the phone on.
One caveat, however: Good luck finding someone willing to do this for you. I know I wouldn't.

That's funny. Like the commission is anything decent on one line. I have to do 50 activations a month, and my commission check is barely decent.
Not that you would want to pay full price from Sprint when Amazon has a better deal on the buyout price.
Yeah but I can walk into a Sprint store on launch day and buy one. Can't do that with Amazon. Tuesday is far enough away as it is

So I preordered mine over the phone thinking I was using my JUMP upgrade and inquired about my return label to send back my s5 and they told me they didn't do JUMP upgrades on the phone, it was treated as a regular upgrade. She told me I didn't have to send my phone back and could keep both so long as I continue to pay for both EIP.
I only have $300 left on it so I plan to pay it off and then sell it for $400-450. Talk about lucky (after a not so lucky preorder with the note 4). Anybody else have this happen to them? I'm wondering why JUMP is even worth it then if I can just finance the phone, upgrade whenever, and then sell the old one to pay off the EIP.

Wouldn't it be more economical to do square trade or whatever it's called instead of paying $10/mo.
Meh, considering it's an $800 phone if it even looks at me wrong I'd use jump to warranty it.

From what I can tell, JUMP is pretty much only a good option for people who don't want to go through the hassle of selling their phones.
i had the same thing happen to me. when i first joined tmobile i got the nexus 5 coming from a sprint note 2. the screen was just too small for me and i wanted to trade it in, but wasn't eligible to jump for another 2 months. the lady at the t-mobile store got me a note 3 and just added the EIP to my account. i then sold the N5 and paid it off. the best part was i was able to jump at my original 6 month anniversary and not 6 months from the note 3 purchase.
Just got my note 4 and need to send back my m8. Wanted to know if tmobile only needed the phone or do they also need the accessories that came with it? I want to keep the extra charger. Thanks.

Square trade? Isn't that the Costco thing? Or is that just square trade hooking up with Costco to do a deal thing... but anyways the reason I am going to get JUMP is because of the accidental protection but it does come with things like theft tracking and the upgrade thing which I don't know if I am going to use those *shrug*
but if there is more accidental coverage companies out there I would like to know, I know of the Samsung deal where you pay like $100 for like a year or something but the sdevice turn in is like $75 instead of like $50 for jump I think I look it up again

You can buy a square trade warranty online as long as it's been less than 30 days since you bought the phone. It's $99 for 2 years coverage but the deductible is $75. It won't pay your EIP off but you can get it fixed locally and they'll reimburse you or do overnight shipping for repairs/replacements. It covers all kinds of accident and damages but does not cover theft which is why it's cheaper. You gotta send a device back to get a fix or replacement.
The jump deductible is $175. I would only see it being beneficial for a stolen phone replacement/upgrade. Other than that I think ST is a better deal.

EIP equipment installation plan (if you finance your phone).
I had my s4 stolen in April (good excuse to upgrade to s5!) and passed along my IMEI to the police. They report it to a database that pawn shops use to prevent sales. You can report it to Tmo to block it from being used on Tmo but unfortunately, they can flash it to other carriers and sell it through other means such as Craigslist or Ebay. Never got my stuff back

simple and easy just follow the steps and sign the new eip agreement, checkout and pay whatever fees then have to wait for it to be shipped. Didn't have to deal with a retail sales person.

Finance the phone?... you mean the monthly charges if you didn't pay for the phone fully? If so yeah I expected to pay that even if I didn't have the phone (physically) lol...
Anyways yeah that sucks but I just read an article about top things note 4 users should do when they get their phone and the first thing was to set the android device manager or something but it can be used for locate your device and also you can do other things like reset pin, full wipe, etc.. but my favorite make your phone ring for up to 5 minutes loudly so you can annoy the thief(s) xD but really the location of the device should come in handy if you do it right away don't wait like a day or something you know, ASAP when you lose your phone

No with JUMP, you can upgrade whenever you want. T-mobile will only pay for half of the phone that you're turning in. If you didn't pay for half of the phone then you'll have two EIPs on your account.

If I remember correctly edge is not a contract so you don't have a termination fee, just a payment fee. And from what I heard from T-Mobile, they will only buy out your contract/pay termination fee. They will not pay your edge installment balance off. Just fyi if you did want to eventually leave Verizon while you have Edge installments.

I hear you. I got tired of waiting and purchased from Moto directly, took advantage of their no-interest payments. Sold my G3 to offset some of the costs.

That's right. What I was going to do was pay 75% of my phone off and get started in a contract so another company can buy me out that way.

That's early edge, meaning that you're recycling into another edge installment. you have to completely pay off your phone if you wanted to leave the service. it looks like what you're trying to do has a slim chance of seeing a glimmer of light lol. all in all, if you do it this way, pay the full amount of the phone you have and sell it at ebay/swappa/cl price. not sure what phone you have but i'm sure you'll be losing a few hundred bucks. sorry buddy, that's the trick of edge, they got you.

Spoke to a Verizon rep randomly today because I was about 10 seconds away from getting out of my EDGE plan and have a competitor buy me out of a contract. I am patient but for the love of god give me something Verizon. This is ridiculous.
Anyway, long story short I happen to get myself a fanatic today. He had a lot more information than any other rep I have spoken to and I have had my fair share of run ins with these clowns. I figured I would give some love back to my community.
I took it for what it was........ Hopefully its true. Sorry for the poor quality, it does the trick though.

Lol at that third picture, I'm not entirely convinced you know what "off the record" means.
You can switch over to a 2 year contract. I just went through this with Verizon.

Lmaoooo... I tried to make it sound as off the record as it can possibly be. I'm sure all those conversations are monitored.

That's good to know that you can switch over. That also means you just forked over hundreds of dollars (to pay off 75% for a device) to verizon AND bought a new phone under a 2 year agreement plus activation fee. But if you started edge when it first came out, then there's no problem about that since you've been already paying that for that period of time.
Or, are you planning to switch to a different carrier for them to pay ETF?

I'm doing the 2yr contract. Getting the moto x since its free right now with the headphones. With all the fees I'm paying about 90 dollars. Than I'm going to sell them on ebay. To help with the cost of the nexus 6.
Thought I'd mention that on the official Verizon forums I found a post from mid December where a person claimed to have been told January 2nd by a support rep. That gives me hope that it truly will be released eventually.

VZ extended their exchange period for the holidays until 1/15. I GUARENTEE they won't release it during that time period. Look for it no earlier than 1/16.
I switched the family over to Verizon yesterday and ended up using a iphone 5S IMEI to get my number to activate before popping it in my CW Nexus 6. The rep that was doing the activations said that he has played with a Verizon Nexus 6 during his training. He asked me how I liked it. I did ask him when it would release and he said he wasnt sure, just that the phone was undergoing testing and should release soon.
Only gripe would be that I cant do Data while On a phone call. Was used to this when I was on AT&T and came in handy while on Conf calls and such.
How many of us are there left? I have blocked all updates, so I don't think the charge killer will get me, but if AT&T goes after the imei...

I don't think AT&T is going to care either way as long, as they are getting paid for the phone on a monthly basis. My plan with all of this is to turn my Note 7 in for the next note device after it has been supposedly released in February. The way I see it, it will still be on warranty. I hope I'm right.

I've disabled all ota updates from Samsung. This shouldn't affect me.
This will be interesting........
I intended to return mine the last week of the year. I recently had surgery and am laid up until after the 19th. If they kill my phone with me not being able to return it for documented, legitimate medical reasons and with this device/service my sole means of communication for emergency services if needed. What happens if I need help after they kill my phone?

I don't have confidence that the Package disabler will block all updates.
The nightmare continues....
Against doctors orders I went to the AT&T store today where it took 2+ hours to return my phone for a refund. The first person had no clue what to do. Finally the manager got involved. The refund was .5% less because the tax rate was higher at the store where I purchased it. They couldn't cancel my line or my account in the store so I called Customer Care from the store. I then found out that there was a contract on the S2 Gear Watch that I got with the phone as part of a bundle deal. "OK, I'll give you the watch back, accessories are part of the Samsung buy back, right?" I was told I needed the box, and all the original packaging..... "OK, I'll keep the watch and pay the $10 /month for the remaining time." Nope! you now need a data plan with the watch! That will be $40 per month, thank you. Remember, I now do not have a phone with them of any kind. After 3 calls and 30 minutes on hold, being told multiple times different things on the phone and by the store manager I ended up early cancellation on the watch which costs me about $135. I am also being told now the watch can not be unlocked so it can be used on another carrier.
Do not believe the BS that they are covering the accessories.
I thought to make things easier I would do it on the last day of the billing cycle which I thought was today. Later I found out that the verbiage on the web site is confusing and it was really yesterday. Then I find out that ATT does not prorate the last months bill. My monthly bill is normally about $100.
So now I have a $235 bill coming for device I either don't have or can't use (It still is a watch I suppose) and service I can't use all thru no fault of my own because of the Note7 recall.
I will most likely be buying an S8 but you can believe me when I say it will not be from ATT.

I didn't use a package disabler program. I hid packages using a shell. I should be fine.
No way in hell i would have left paying early termination. I got my watch with my Note 7 and I've been told several times if I turn my phone in, i can also return the watch with no contract fee. I would escalate the matter cause thats crazy

I didn't pay anything. They refused to take it back since I didn't have the box and are adding the early termination to the final bill, that I have yet to get.
