After downgrading did you wiped dalvic cache/cache and factory reset your phone. If not then do it.
It may help you as it formats data from previous ROM.
It is already proved that calibrating battery doesn't improve your battery life.

I don't remember exactly, I think first time I booted after downgrade it was on the booting screen for a while and I freaked out, took out the battery and booted again, this time successful. I'll factory reset and format as you said but if even then the issue won't be gone what else could I do? And what would be an average screen on time for a note 3?
Thanks again

If wiping cache/dalvic cache and factory resetting don't solve your problem that means the problem is with the battery or their are more apps that are running continuously in background.
Check for apps that are running continuously and use Greenify to freeze them. Also you can amplify module with xposed, to control wakeups of various apps.
Hopefully wiping and resetting should solve your problem

I'm starting to think the goodness of the Note 3 battery is becoming a joke. What I did was clear my cache partition and did a factory reset after from the recovery menu. I have not installed any other apps yet. I just set up dropbox, play books, email, etc. Normal things for normal use.
I did a reset because my battery was draining before and I thought a reset could resolve it. I need to ask for solutions as this is really giving me a headache.
Don't ask if I have turned off this or that, most probably I did as I read from multiple threads. Those threads are only guessing or otherwise throwing the OP in a loop for the search of answers.
Xda, I need your help to figure out how to SOLVE this stupid drain.
Note on the screenshot: I took that screen after 30 mins after plugging it out. It drained 2% while I was doing absolutely nothing but stare at the Android System bar graph go higher. Its like a plague for the damn phone.
---
Edit:
I installed BBS and here are screenshots of the partial and kernel wakelock. Is this normal though? This happened while I was sleeping overnight and I have not installed any apps other than BBS. This is how my stats were before and my battery is draining fast especially when I'm using my phone.
Thing is, I have set all measures possible to extend battery life non rooted and it goes down by the minute of light use.

at least should mentioned ur model n900 or n9005!?
anyway i did this for my N900 after i got battery draining once and it solve problem;
when it discharge to ~15% turn it off and connect it to charger and let it charging 100%
it can help battery to charge without using it at same time
i mentioned it before several times (in another threads) it s like re-gauging battery.
another thing u can do is flashing another stock firmware
but search for the more stable firmware.
:good:
Sorry! I have the SM-N9005. Bought from the Philippines (Smart carrier)

The joys of Android!
Wakelock detector and BetterBatteryStats are your best friend in regards to stuff like that. - Usually it's Alarmmanager or something similar that causes it. What generally fixed it for me was switching ROMS

Do you also have a microSD or a large amount of custom files in your (internal or external) memory? Since when you do factory-reset you also clear all the preliminary indexes and caches that the system created, and it will work pretty hard to re-index all that after first reboot!
Ahh wise not messing if out of your comfort zone then, sensible guy.
However, have a good read around, you'll find after some heavy duty reading you'll probably feel alright in maybe trying rooting and debloating some apps etc. But then again, you might not. That is one of the best things about Android, you can play around to suit your needs whether novice or pro.
Also, if you do fancy rooting and need help you can post here, or you can just shoot me a PM I'll help you over the first hurdle at least if you want :good:

Hello, I have a galaxy s4 gt-i9505 running on Android 4.3. The problem that I found is that the battery drains really fast after upgrading to Android 4.3. I have tried many ways to fix it such as making sure WiFi is not ON when not in use as well as Mobile Data, in fact they are all off but the battery still drains.
I have no idea what is going on, may be one of the application is responsible for this but I have already did factory reset multiple times and also wipe cache from recovery mode. Still they didn't help.
I read on thing about BetterBatteryStat, and have my screenshot attached. I don't know what to get out of it so please if anyone can help me by looking at those photos, show me what to do.
Thanks.:cyclops:

Good morning Everyone,
I received the OTA update to lollipop on Tuesday night. Since then, I've noted the following:
Upon successful completion of the update, I was prompted to update google play service. I don't know for sure whether it actually updated but it did take a very long time to do anything. The phone was largely non responsive at this time.
The phone seems to be a little laggy since the update.
My battery life has tanked. I used to get close to 36 hours out of the battery. This has since decreased to 6 hours.
I do see another user experienced issues with google play services. I have tried clearing the cache on both the google play store and google play services and rebooted as was suggested in that thread, though I was not prompted to update it. I'm running version 6.5.99 (1642632-438) of the google play service.
The main concern is the lag and the battery life. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be going on?

Thanks DopeShow. It's good to know this isn't necessarily a system wide issue. I'll try reflashing as soon as I can.

I'm backing up my data now.
My S5 is not rooted. What method would you suggest I employ to reflash? I'm guessing recovery mode but wanted to get your thoughts.
My battery life is horrible on 5.0 too... I'm not rooted, so it is hard to tell what is killing it...
Just shows up as android kernel and Android system in GSAM battery program. They are taking over 2x more battery than the screen is.
Might need to factory reset at some point...

You can Odin either an OA8 tar from Sammobile or Odin a NK2 tar then OTA to NK7 and OA8. Both of these don't require root. Also, I'd suggest factory resetting once you flash a tar, as it should improve battery and it might be required to boot.
First thing to try to fix the battery drain is boot to recovery and clear the cache partition. If that doesn't work then a factory reset will be necessary to fix it. I have personally always done factory resets after system updates dating back to Froyo. Just helps to clear everything up.
Thanks for your suggestions guys. I booted to recovery and performed a factory reset. Early indications suggest battery life is greatly improved. I'll post back in a day or so to give you a final verdict.
I hope very few users suffer from this, but if so I trust this information is helpful.
I can't say I have really noticed a decrease in battery life, but I have noticed it takes longer to charge now.
I watched movies and television shows on my device yesterday, all day. Started with a full charge and got almost 8 hours of screen on time before I plugged in. Batter still had 12%. This was with stock non-rooted version of Lollipop. Seems comparable to what I was getting on KK.
I also had issues when updating to Lollipop. I had issues with Google Play Services, and I ended up having to do a factory reset of the phone.
For the most part I have had no trouble with apps force closing or anything like that. But I have had horrible battery drain as well. When I am not using my phone, it seems that the battery life maintains pretty well. But when I use it even for not intense tasks - browsing news apps or something like that - it drains really quickly. I'm lucky if I get 6-8 hours of use per day. I used to be able to last a solid 14 hours of decent use before I had to recharge.
Any thoughts what could be causing it after I did the factory reset? My phone is not rooted.
same problem
Non-rooted S5 and after lollipop update it is chewing my battery and generally laggy (slow response to screen press). Even getting force closes on apps. Backing up now for a factory reset. Hope it helps.
Edit - 3/5/15 Factory Reset and reloaded all apps. Still working through all my website logins and settings. Not enough time to know if it fixed my battery issue but feels like the lag issue is fixed. Only been a day and initial thoughts is a reset was the cure. Will check back after the weekend with an update.
1. When the screen is on auto brightness and the phone gets its first sunlight it increases the brightness but starts opening random apps and starts typing or selecting continuously. But now as the auto brightness is off, it is fine.
2. Phone randomly reboots. Just now my phone was on 15% battery and as soon as I plugged the charger it rebooted. And sometimes the phone shuts down when the battery is between 5% and 15%. I'm using turbo charger.
3. Has this new 7.0 update has sucked all the battery? Shows some massive drops sometimes when playing any games. Also not happy with the stand-by time.
4. A lot of apps crash anytime. Mostly games.
Fix for any of these???

Have you made a factory reset after updating to 7.0? For the 1st problem, your display is faulty, so, the only solution is to have it replaced.
I'm using 7.0 since January and I don't have any of those problems.

I don't think that the display has any issues because it works fine without a single issue. I think it might be the sensor which is acting weird. And I've not done a factory reset. Will that help?

After doing factory reset for the first time, My moto g4 plus screen brightness was reduced (became so pale and dull) . before reset, iam comfortable with zero brighness in indoor conditions (which might avoid ghost touches and screen burn and saves the battery ). Now after reset, screen turns to very dull in even indoor conditions, so i have to increase the brightness to atleast 30-40% which might drain battery. please tell me whether its normal ? is there any solution for it ? i want my glowing screen back. please help me.
thank you

Hi,
I have seen a battery drain for a one week. I can't stand with it. The battery drains very fast - especially at night because I got over 30% battery lose with everything turned off! I tried to wipe cache and factory reset but these ways didn't work. I dunno what's going on but it makes me sick. I think that the phone doesn't go into the deep sleep, because "Android System" takes a first place when it comes to the battery usage. Actually the battery is quite new (97,5% real capacity) so I guess that's a problem with system. I don't want to root my phone because of the knox privileges.
I attached a screenshot which shows a night usage of the battery (when I unplugged - battery percentage was 75%).
Any solutions?
What I tried:
- turn off Wi-Fi scanning
- turn off Bixby
- battery saving mode
- wiping cache
- factory reset (but I've used a backup - if that matters)
Didn't work.. So please, help me
i have exactly same problem for about two weeks. Android system is the first place in battery usage, even before screen, if i dont use phone too much. On samsung community there more people with this problem.
Maybe problem is polish version? Też jestem z polski, jedynie problem mam na modelu z plusem. Jeśli znajdziesz rozwiązanie napisz je proszę (if you find the solution please write it here)
Try not to use a backup, just for a dat or so.
Do you use OPV CSC? Or XEO? Which security patch? My is september. I unfortunately use OPV (Orange) and maybe that's the problem. Can you o provide a link to the Samsung community discussion?
I did a totally clear factory reset yesterday and it still doesn't work. ?
My sot is around 2h...
Same issue with me also.. stand by time is around 8-9 hrs only..
Not sure what happened.. service center ppl asked me to change the battery only..
Turn off GPS and your battery will last forever. On my S8 plus I only turn on GPS when really needed.
I have exactly same problem in s8+. Android system draining my battery for about 2 weeks. SOT in 2-3h.

2 weeks? Lol my problem has occured for the same period. I have no Idea what I can do with it. The biggest drain is always when the screen is off and I don't use my device .
Nothing actually works... the worst battery experience I've ever seen

2) android system
3) android os
4) device standby

Maybe you have apps that run in backround, just try to disable few apps(apps-show system apps- disable allow backround data usage),and disable body sensors from GmsCore from google, you can find it in permissions.
I dont have gmscore and playstore anymore on my S8+,and i have 8 hours SOT,these are the apps that i use right now,i've debloated everything that i dont use and i have Alexisrom 5.6.1
