[FIXED]
The problem was related to the motherboard. With the new one everything works properly.
Hi,
I have seen a battery drain for a one week. I can't stand with it. The battery drains very fast - especially at night because I got over 30% battery lose with everything turned off! I tried to wipe cache and factory reset but these ways didn't work. I dunno what's going on but it makes me sick. I think that the phone doesn't go into the deep sleep, because "Android System" takes a first place when it comes to the battery usage. Actually the battery is quite new (97,5% real capacity) so I guess that's a problem with system. I don't want to root my phone because of the knox privileges.
I attached a screenshot which shows a night usage of the battery (when I unplugged - battery percentage was 75%).
Any solutions?
What I tried:
- turn off Wi-Fi scanning
- turn off Bixby
- battery saving mode
- wiping cache
- factory reset (but I've used a backup - if that matters)
Didn't work.. So please, help me
i have exactly same problem for about two weeks. Android system is the first place in battery usage, even before screen, if i dont use phone too much. On samsung community there more people with this problem.
Maybe problem is polish version? Też jestem z polski, jedynie problem mam na modelu z plusem. Jeśli znajdziesz rozwiązanie napisz je proszę (if you find the solution please write it here)
Try not to use a backup, just for a dat or so.
Do you use OPV CSC? Or XEO? Which security patch? My is september. I unfortunately use OPV (Orange) and maybe that's the problem. Can you o provide a link to the Samsung community discussion?
I did a totally clear factory reset yesterday and it still doesn't work. ?
My sot is around 2h...
Same issue with me also.. stand by time is around 8-9 hrs only..
Not sure what happened.. service center ppl asked me to change the battery only..
Turn off GPS and your battery will last forever. On my S8 plus I only turn on GPS when really needed.
I have exactly same problem in s8+. Android system draining my battery for about 2 weeks. SOT in 2-3h.
@vemangor i've got Xeo and problem exist.

2 weeks? Lol my problem has occured for the same period. I have no Idea what I can do with it. The biggest drain is always when the screen is off and I don't use my device .
Nothing actually works... the worst battery experience I've ever seen
same for 2-3 weeks..
1) display
2) android system
3) android os
4) device standby

Maybe you have apps that run in backround, just try to disable few apps(apps-show system apps- disable allow backround data usage),and disable body sensors from GmsCore from google, you can find it in permissions.
I dont have gmscore and playstore anymore on my S8+,and i have 8 hours SOT,these are the apps that i use right now,i've debloated everything that i dont use and i have Alexisrom 5.6.1

Update - i did factory reset . still it didnt help.
should i take to service center .
Thanks
Does the tab feels warm? which is the highest battery usage app?
I used to have a issue whereby the media scanner service gone in an infinite loop scanning for songs in my device..
Have to hardreset to solve it. Normally my overnight drain is 5%, that is with wifi/bluetooth/gps/notification/background sync all on.
My issue was with Exchange. It was draining 30-40% of the battery overnight. After removing my exchange account I lose ~5%
no i am not using wifi all the time .
At night ts on standby wifi off, everything else is off.
even if i put in airplane mode still it drains .
but using the tab ,battery does not drain.
should i go to service center ??
do you have any apps running in the background? do you exit each application you use or just press the 'Home' button?

Well.. i recommend try hard resetting the device before returning it
When i first got the tab from M1, it ran into battery issues,
but mine is because of media scanner service
And when i connect to android debugger, it shows the media scanner trying to read my music files but failed, it goes in a infinite loop, making the tab heats up
Anyway my problem was solved when i hard reset to factory settings.
Plus i don link any of the samsung apps. (email, or social hubs)

Try pulling out your SD card and reset. Run without the SD card for a day to see if it's any better.

I always thought 15% drainage overnight is normal when you were not charging it. as there are many bloatware running in the background.
Anyway, you could install and run Taskiller and you can see Galaxy Tab 7.7 has a lot of background services running.
Not all of those services are useful, like SocialHub, and they cannot be uninstalled, but you can still freeze it with Titanium Backup Pro (a paid app, need root). You could consider other options like force uninstall (with root as well), but it is risky and not recommended.
Nevertheless, plugging your tab to charger while sleeping is good idea as it prolongs the battery life. The smaller the depth of discharge, the longer the battery will last. Always avoid full-discharging.

I am running a Note 3 bought in Sweden around the 11th of December, fully stock. Never rooted or anything. I was actually too stupid to update myself to MJ7 right when i bought it before finding out about the KNOX-debacle, but nevermind about that. What is done is done!
Batterylife has so far been alright since I bought the phone. I've managed to get around 7 hours of screen-on time in the exact same environment as these pictures have been taken in without enabling any power saving modes or going to extremes with turning off location services etc. I was very happy.
Yet lately I've been seeing that my battery life has started to get worse. I've noticed it mostly when the phone has been idle. This led me to experiment today. I've experienced the Android OS bug earlier, which caused me to factory reset the phone and start again. It disappeared for a while, but it has come back now.
The reason I am making this thread is that I cannot for the life of me figure out what inside Android OS is wakelocking my phone. I have a lot of pictures detailing my battery stats screen, with screen on times, signal strengths, location settings, google now settings, better battery stats kernel/partial wakelocks/other tabs etc. Even "Wakelock Detector" with all of its tabs are screencapped.
The wakelock times within better battery stats just do not add up to the "Android OS" wakelock time. Is there something I am not seeing, or is it maybe because I am not rooted that I cannot see more detailed info about what is wakelocking my phone? The only thing i've done today which I know wakelocks my phone, is listen to music for about 2 hours. Surely music does not count into Android OS? It is listed as another process in the battery stats..
Anyhow, if anyone has time to take a look at my screencaps to try and pinpoint what it is exactly that adds up to the "Android OS" time, I would be very greatful. This is very frustrating, as I was very sure to disable almost everything that has to do with location services etc. to see how the battery would fare during the day.
Please help me!
Thanks.
i have exactly same problem like yours. my main wakelock is resume_wakelock and sec battery monitor. i dont know what cause those 2 wakelock. i had disabled all location services and turn off gps and auto sync. do u managed to overcome this problem ?

try and turn of (auto network switch) it might have something to do with wifi
i may be wrong ,but no harm in trying
Here the same problem, it drains my battery in half a day
installed wakelock detector, and found out, that my note 3
never goes into deep sleep, it stays awake the whole time
For me it has nothing to do with screen -on time, Wifi or any apps
the problem is is in the android kernel system, and I do not know, how to solve this problem
last statistics : CPU time 3 u 11m 24s , Awake 10 u 28m 48 s
Tried lots of "solutions" found here on this forum, but so far no good
correct me if i am wrong, but as I understood, HTC and LG are having the same kernel / rom,
but without the google "apps", and are not having these problems
Asking Samsung is no use, a concreet wall will answer you sooner, than Samsung in the Netherlands
I wished I had a solution for this android kernel problem
I will wait for the Kitkat update, and if it will solve this problem, if not I will get myself another device

T-mobile has a nice manual also http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-9049

I even switched from T-mobile MJ6 to provider free firmware MJ7, without any problems,
hopefully MJ7 will get Kitkat sooner, than MJ6

Hello EddieN,
Found this on the forum, Under Apps > Settings > Wi-Fi > Menu > Advanced there are two options that should help this: "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" and "Always allow scanning" I set the "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" to Never and unchecked Always allow scanning and rebooted the phone. This stopped my battery from draining fast, however this is not the solution where was hoping for, maybe Kitkat will solve the problem
kind regards

Hello, thank you for the tip and happy new year!
I tried it, but it didn't work. Wifi is on all the time since the phone never sleeps. I just checked my phone again, and it's been on for about 4 hours. It hasn't entered deep sleep not even 1 minute out of that time. This is getting ridiculous. Screenshots from BBS are attached. As you can see, Kernel and Partial Wakelocks just don't add up to the "Awake" time.. Why is this? What is keeping my phone awake?
I'm seriously getting desperate. I'm considering just tripping knox and dealing with it properly with a custom rom/kernel combination that rids the phone of these problems. Is KitKat due this month? Or is it february? I may wait for it but something tells me it wont solve the issues we are having.
Cheers

That must be a really hard battery sucking wallpaper you got there mate. With only 2 h screen on I could last at least 2 days without charging.
Do you have s-voice on and wake up command? These were the only apps that consumed that much as I remember. Or did you run any battery consuming apps? It shouldn't be the wallpaper but you can still try yourself.
If you are on stock rom it could also be the KitKat update. I read a lot about it being pretty battery unfriendly.

Can you go one day without it and post your Battery stats? It's kinda hard to believe it is the wallpaper because:
1. Your screen was only on for 2-3 hours
2. The screen consumption is lower than Android OS and System
Does the wallpaper have any extra features?
Edit. Did you play or stay in the internet?

There are extra features, but I have turned these off.
Did use internet but not for long
I will try changing the wallpaper. Can't think what else it could be - my phone was warming up in my pocket, with nothing in recent apps. Also wouldn't a live wallpaper be included in OS and System rather than anywhere else?

It shouldn't be consuming when screen is off. Just checked mine:
4 hours on with screen consuming 47% and still 80% charged locked my phone consumes like 1% in 6 hours
(But I'm rooted and fully modded to your phones defense)
Edit. Unless you can say that it doesn't consume that much when not having the wallpaper I would guess it is a KitKat issue or your battery really has a problem
Final Question:
@ant2555 sorry I don't know since I was rooted since jelly bean I never had the chance to look into that. I just read a lot about it being a known 4.4.2 issue. The 4.4.3 update is said to get rid of that

Ok, I'll get back to you either tomorrow or the day after depending on results.
Final question for now, do you know what the common causes of "android system" using that much battery are?
I've been using that wallpaper for almost 4 months without a drain issue. It's not the wallpaper. (maxelus.net is one of the better wallpaper devs. You need not worry about these causing a drain.)
The wallpaper does have a setting for battery saving in its settings (all the way at the bottom as 'Battery. Wallpaper Speed'). Try turning that on.
From the looks of it, you have Sync turned on. Turn if off. (drag down the notidication bar and scroll to the Sync toggle.)
Also, turn off all location services (In settings and in Google Settings(that's an app)).
And try disabling all sounds under settings --> device --> Sounds --> system. (You can elave haptic feedback on if you want.)
Do you have an SD card in your phone?
I found that my Note 3 lasts longer without one. It might just be a problem with certain brands, but mine would heat up considerably and cause the indexing service to go into overdrive.
If you have an SD card, try running your phone without it for a little while and see if that makes a difference.
I discovered that after charging my phone a couple of times I get a false charge which can imitate battery drain, try this code *#0228# after hitting it click Quick Start, hope that helps, if not do a complete wipe for all apps and only download trusted ones. Good luck
Android is and kernel killing my battery. Don't know what has changed in last few days but I'm getting 5 to 8 hours on a full charge

Yeah, Sync was turned on and I'll try turning it, and location services off (location was on power saver mode before)
However take a look at some of my battery stats they seem very odd.
One day they seem perfectly normal: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0pprase2tqiwcq8/2014-06-12 22.38.17.png
https://www.dropbox.com/s/11pe6ozrkhuqvi7/2014-06-11 17.20.21.png
and the next they seem awful with odd draining issues, and heating up in my pocket during the day. One possible cause I thought of was because the phone was on "increased touch sensitivity mode" so may have been turning itself on in my pocket all day.
Here are some bad days:

Ahh, Google Services. That annoying bugger again. It's been causing problems on several devices.
What you can try:
Google Settings > Ads > turn on "Opt out of interest-based ads"
Disable back up under Settings > Backup & reset > uncheck "Back up my data".
Turn off Google Now.
And you can try uninstalling the recent updates to Google Play Services under settings > Applicationmanager > All > Google Play Services. Force stop, clear data, clear cache and uninstall updates (be sure to turn off auto update apps in Google Play Store first or it'll come back nearly instantly).
Hello guys, I've been using the oneplus 2 for about 2-3 weeks now...! When I fast started using it, the battery backup was quite good...I could go on using it without charging for more than a day...but nowadays, the juice gets drained a lot faster.. I have disabled gestures...disabled unwanted apps...I use the dark theme... And WiFi Bluetooth is turned off almost all the time....if it is 60% now...and I just lock it and come again after a minute to check the phone...it will be 55% already...I have a dumped in a lot already...I've used 35 gb storage...have a lot of apps also...but even when it's running in battery saver mode...the battery status reduces real fast...please help...thanks in advance... If there's another thread for this already ...please redirect me there! Thanks

Which os version are you using?
I've got a solution recently and I've tried it and now my battery drain is normal I've got 5 hours SOT now.
Just shut down your device and boot it by pressing the volume down +power button it will take you to the menu from there you have to select language to English then clear the cache and then reboot your device.
That's it. This solution is from the official oneplus support team.
And I can tell you is working shower fine on my device.
Cheers

Use Amplify+ Powernap+ AppoppXposed. Works like a charm.

i believe it's the google services & location services that kill your battery
pretty common in an un-optimized ROM with stock google play services installed
so, i Second this, Amplify, Powernap & AppOpsXposed do wonder
but also add Greenify to it, paid version offocurse so you can use full xPosed features
6 Hrs ++ SOT and still 15% left... can't ask for more since i would already fall asleep before the phone battery fully depleted, ahahaha
Thanks for the all the suggestions everyone! I'll root my device soon and get to these stuff!
A simple factory reset also does the trick sometimes.

B321a is the firmware that you had problem with? There are many people that have same problem, but most of people experienced better battery life (like me). Hard to say what is going on, the only thing i can say is that my upgrade proces was B200 > B317 > B321 > B321a. I dont know if it does make any difference, but if you have time you can try the same process. No one can help you with this.
Im now on b321a and see how.it goes

From the battery drain perspective I don't see any difference on the 321a. Still getting drained as f.ck to be honest.

I dont knowm but i can tell you, i had the same problem with B200 when i got the phone, it was very frustrating, not even one day the batery could stand, but then i tried first beta of mashmallow and it got like twice of the battery life. Yesterday i was almost all day flashing some stuff (that didnt work) so i restarted the phone into recovery like 10 times, almost every time i had to restore backup and was trying something else, and at the evening i still had about 30-40 percent.

So u being still on the beta? Should be B317 or something. The B321 is the final one. Listen I am a bit desperate as having this phone charged to make 24hrs of medium use is frustrating

huawei´s smartphones are pretty weird, many people have various problems, some have problems that others dont etc, for example, many ppl says that B200 had better battery life than Marshmallow, for me, its twice as that, so its pretty individual, i was frustrated about this phone when i got it, at first i was happy for new phone, but the smile dissapeared very fast. Now, with MM im pretty happy, just pitty that we dont have CM or some mods (yet). Last thing i can suggest you ist, try to install xposed, then install Amplifiy app, i could help
im also desperate to the point the phones going!
ive had wifi off mobile data off gps off
Phones been on since 7am so basically 12 hours and im at 30% battery with 1h 30 min screen on time and 1h20m talk time!
its so god damn bad ............oh and greenify just says no apps need to hibernate.
ive got a couple of screen blemishes anyway so i might try a rma as its well with in warranty any how.
It seems that major prob for me have been google maps. Sounds like our device doesn't cope well with this app. Removing those off gave me normal SOT and phone can make 1.5 day easily
I'll try that howndoes one go about it ? I'm not rooted

In Settings > advanced > battery > consumption
What are the top things that are using your battery?
check energy plan
Did you check your energy plan settings? After I first upgraded to 321 I observed battery drain as well. I managed to solve the issue by changing the energy plan in the battery manager. After upgrade it was set to performance. Once I set it to intelligent battery drain was ok. Seems like after upgrading performance is the default setting.
PS: The names might be slightly different, because the langugae on my P8 is not english.
