Hi guys! just want to ask this:
My scenario a while ago. I'm walking in the rain and navigate in google maps. (not heavy rain) and then the s5 lcd as a water drop on it. I noticed that when i pressed in the lcd and the response is rumble. any idea guys?
It is water resistant stopping water from getting inside the phone, but if rain hits the screen, it still causes problems just like you have touched the screen with your finger
I was trying to take photos in the rain and it was impossible because the rain acted like a touch on the screen and started pressing buttons, taking photos, changing settings

?? you know mate lcd and touchscreen replacement here in the Philippines cost is 7,000 to 8,000. I have a friend certified technician he told me i will regret using samsung because of the parts.
Expensive!
Well, in my family we have S2, S3, S4 and my S5, and none of them have ever needed any parts replacing, and all are still going strong
So hopefully you'll never need to replace anything either

Haha. Anyway mate are you using zero lemon?
Nah just plain old S5, no case, stock battery
I ordered a case from Amazon a few months ago but it never arrived, got a refund and never bothered ordering another one yet
Seen a few I like the look of on eBay
And I'm generally always around a PC / Charger, so no need for extended battery yet either

...it's still working!
I think it's the luckiest HD in the world.
It was in it's stock pouch and was scooped out within seconds. The battery quickly taken off and with the back off, card out, etc put straight into the airing cupboard (the little cupboard where the hot water tank is). This all happened at about 8am this morning. Got a call from the girlfriend at about 4pm this afternoon telling me she'd put it back together and it was cool. Wasn't too happy she'd done that, was gonna give it at least 48 hours but it's working. Seems to have dried out perfectly. Nothing under the screen, everything work fine.
I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!
I think it was the pouch that saved it, probably soaked up the water before it got to the device.
Thanks for sharing this. I use mine every morning in there too but it's not happened to me yet. I will be extra careful from now on maybe take the pouch with me

It was actually the process of puting my HD back in the pouch that made me drop it but thank god it made it back in just in time. I know what you mean though, every morning while dropping a bomb i'm checking my mail and seeing what the M1 is like before deciding on my route to work!
no kidding...you are luckier than sh#t!
If it plays up, wash it in distilled water and then dry it for 48 hours.

LMAO! Did this a couple of weeks back with my sons iphone, spent 2 hours blowing all the water out via the headphone socket lol. That works better now than before, he reckons it cleaned the crap from out the speakers and now is louder than ever lol. Take care a close friend of mine dropped the EEPC in the toilet. He was smoking, some ash fall down on the legs, he opened them to avoid burn and the little toy from asus made a dive. All this happened before flushing the toilet, so before he got it to the service center he had also to clean it and parfume it.
A way to avoid this happening would be not to play with "toys" in the bathroom!!
From the last few posts i can say : none of the WM devices stink, even those which have been in toilet!!!!!!!
and gues im not looking for a new pouch -- keeping the original one!!!!
Boy oh boy that is damn funny, my old man did it many yrs ago when the first StarTac came out.
He came around the hallway swearing, googley eyed looking left and right and stated, "that was the most expensive s..t I ever had!"
He had stood up and flushed and at the exact same time the phone had popped off his belt and disappeared.
Incidentally he did get it back, it stuck to tree roots further down the drain, mind you it never worked again. heh heh.

Hi people,
I have a problem with my 2 week old Galaxy SII.
The day before yesterday rain got me outside and my SGS2 got a little moisted.
It was in a gel skin but some water got under the battery cover just on egdes.
The phone looks as new and works perfectly, despite today my volume rocker got crazy. It only increases the volume, but doesn't work opposite way. It "clicks" but doesn't do anything. -,-
Anyone had the same problem?

make sure there is no water inside(around the corners)
Remove the battery use a hair dryer around the phone with low power dont take it too close to the phone..Just do it around the corners for 3 to 5 min and then start the phone see if the key works..
The above experiment is totally un-tested and you are responsible for your own actions..
thanks, but didn't worked

well, it costs 100% surely if you say you caused it thats why i said it "just stopped working" evil twisted truth. remember that i didn't say this online
oh, just to make sure, unroot if rooted.
Mine isn't rooted and I didn't said no one it got (a bit) wet ;P just you know that.
I just asked my dealer "How come an 2 week old phone could failed?"
But really, all of my old phones got wet by a rain, few of them were in worse situations and they worked well . I even sinked my Nokia in puddle and it was fine.
btw. Did your phone also got wet? Or it just decided to stop working properly?

I've get my SGSII back from Samsung after a week. It was a software issue , now I have KE4 kernell
Got yesterday my Acer A500 and its really great.
But a few minutes ago I got a strange problem ( not rooted or flashed yet, just the normal 3.0.1 stock rom )
battery was down to 10% and then the screen started blinking ( turned off and on again and again). while this I also couldn´t use the screen everywhere.only several areas worked.
do you think that I should send it back for warranty or just wait?
help would be appreciated!thanks in advance!
didn´t remove this acer sticker and just recognized that the screen has problems that touch input doesn´t work, so removed it and it works again.tested again with the sticker -> screen blocked -> removed -> works again...lol maybe the solution.because this was like touching the screen, although the first day the sticker didn´t effect the display usage
I would say yes. To sending it back if you got it online.I drooped my very slightly same kinda thing I took it apart and was the. Monitor connector loose.my GPS radio antana was lose as well. Go figure. I put drop of silicone on the connectors to prevent them from coming loose again
now battery stats hang. it remains on a certain percentage and only after a reboot it shows the current stats...don´t know what to do...

Did apply a screen protector that was wet application or get the unit wet in any way? If so, you may have moisture contamination in your unit.

First of all, the above statement makes me shudder.
Anyway, it really does sound the unit has moisture contamination. Not much, but enough to throw a few circuits off.
All this is waaay too funny ! I really didn't know. Damn it now I'm nearly to old to do anything about it. Back to topic, agree it may be moisture. Give it a day or two & a good charge & see what happens. If not try a reset then exchange if not working. Good luck.
the blinking issue only was once and also the battery now seems to be fine.really nice tablet though
The screen on/off problem is resolved with the OTA firmware update and the Honeycomb 3.1 update. No sense returning the Iconia because the new one will still have to wait for the updates to be pushed to the device. The problem will be resolved automatically as soon as the updates are pushed to your device.

Finally got my Note 4 today, pretty content with device. Being very overprotected in terms of keeping device mint. I've decided to stick with the Commuter Case, Alpha Glass, and Skinomi Techskin. Defender Series case was too difficult to install with third-party screen protector. Zagg Glass was absolute brittle.
Device is immaculate, S-Pen is hard to remove at times, and screen uniformity is pretty consistent. There's always going to be variation in the each AMOLED display.
So far so good, looking forward to a good time with the Note 4.
What did you do in the first couple of days with your Note 4?
disable some samsung apps i didnt need and tmobile apps. and THIS PHONE IS ROCK SOLID. i thought my last samsung phone was S4, but boy i was wrong. this thing is a BAD BAD BOY. Nova launcher with this thing is a piece of beauty
I odined and flashed mine within 2 hours of receiving it.
I stared at the amazing QHD display.
Then rooted it.
Sent from my SM-N910T using XDA Premium HD app
I rooted mine immediately and installed fire Kat rom. Then disabled all the stock apps I didn't use. Love this phone!
I rooted mine and installed FireKat
I literally open every program and setting to discover any new features or removed features. Then i protect it like a pterodactyl egg unti i get my case cuz i never buy both at the same time. Then i contimplate voiding my warranty by rooting and flashing and of coarse I do the next day after all the fear blows over. Now i have a T Rex on roids.
Nothing other then not putting it down. Showing her off naked.
Now that's an inspiration. I have to learn how not to overprotect my devices.

I'm very careful with my phones. I have Jump and know a guy that works at T-Mobile so I would have to beat the phone up pretty good for him not to take it. The Note 4 is a nice looking phone and don't want to hide it in case plus I just like how the metal feels when it's cold. lol
Never thought of the metal that way, haha. There are a lot more things than just a phone to think about in life. I'm due to upgrade in as little as six months, thanks to the Jump Program. Leasing phones is the way to go. :highfive:
Edit: I just hope that S-Pen loosens up as time goes.

Mine did. I liked how stiff it was when I first got it compared to how it is now.
First thing I did was turn it on to make sure it worked. Then I rooted it, flashed TWRP, deleted/froze a bunch of crap, added my apps, and began enjoying it.
I had one from AT&T back in November, just wondering why that wasn't so stiff.

Anyone having concerns with the rear facing speaker?
I watch a lot of video/shows/movies on my N3 and the sound is nothing to write home about.
90% of my phone conversations are on speaker phone.
Im concerned about hearing the caller clearly if im holding the the phone with the speaker facing my palm.
How are u guys dealing with this, (its my only concern upgrading)?
Rooted it and started working on a kernel for it
Made a couple of calls. ?
From the should I root thread:
What I was going to do with my personal note 4 was play with it for 24 hours and get a feel for the stock firmware and then decide.
That was working until I went to a long dinner with friends. There was some wine. I was rooted and running firekat before I got home thanks to a friends lappy.
I woke up the next day and the phone was sooooo much better.
Just do it. You won't regret it.
We of course have more roms, now.
Thanks, How do I restore T-Mobile's WiFi Calling feature in Custom ROMs?
