Waking tablet from sleep via power being connected

Using slimkat 4.4.4 on my nexus 7 car install and having an issue where tasker will not wake the tablet from sleep when power being connected. "Car turned on" Sometimes it turns on and sometimes it will not wake from sleep what would be the best way to get tasker to see the event of the power being connected.. reason I ask is because when it does not turn on via "power being connect" tasker is not showing the event even being launched...

HDMI-CEC

can this be turned off in the settings? Sometimes when may girlfriend is running kodi she turns the tv off first which sends a power cycle command to the nexus player, but kodi picks it up and locks down the program somehow. The only thing I can do is pull the plug and restart.
Check the settings in Kodi. I know on the RasPi versions they have options to disable CEC response. Should be under input devices/peripherals if it is retained on the Android TV version. The Android TV itself should not be power cycling itself by default. Only thing I've ever seen it do is pause any currently playing media when the TV is shut off. But I may be completely wrong. I am still relatively new to the Nexus Player myself.

Remote wont enter pairing mode?

Seems that recently my nexus player remote has just cropped out. Currently I'm using the android app as well as the HDMI-CEC functionality through the TV remote. Bluetooth on the player is functioning normally. The remote, no matter what, will not enter pairing mode when I hold the home and back buttons. The LED blinks three times in rapid succession and then nothing. Fresh batteries, nothing. Searched for it with other Bluetooth devices, nothing. What's up with my remote? Has this happened to anybody else? My player isn't even a year old yet :/
Did you find a solution to this? This just happened to me. Thought the batteries were dead but fresh batteries don't help.
Press and hold both the back button and the home key at the same time to enter pairing mode for the Nexus remote.
I've got the same problem, cant pair it anymore...

Try to install Android TV remote app from Google Play to your phone or tablet.

OBD II adapter connection issues

I have an ODBLink MX adapter for my car that has an auto sleep and wake function. The only way it will connect when I get in the car is to unlock the phone for a few seconds and turn it back off. If I leave the phone in my pocket and don't go through the lock screen it won't automatically connect. Any tips? Thanks.

Have you tried adding it as a trusted device?
I did. Didn't seem to help.

Adapter should wake up when you turn ignition on and CAN bus becomes active. I run Android N DP4. It has occasional issues with BT. Reboot clears it.

Shield remote/controller no longer wakes up my Shield

Randomly, as of about ~2 weeks ago, my Shield remote nor the controller will wake up my Shield when it is "sleeping". To wake up the Shield I have been disconnecting and then reconnecting the power cord, which is veryyy freaking annoying to say the least. Any suggestions to alleviate this? Thanks
I've had this problem recently too. While it's awake, does yours also turn itself off when you push a button on the remote?
Happens to me randomly and it's really annoying. Can't figure out why it happens.
