Shield remote/controller no longer wakes up my Shield - Shield Android TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Randomly, as of about ~2 weeks ago, my Shield remote nor the controller will wake up my Shield when it is "sleeping". To wake up the Shield I have been disconnecting and then reconnecting the power cord, which is veryyy freaking annoying to say the least. Any suggestions to alleviate this? Thanks

I've had this problem recently too. While it's awake, does yours also turn itself off when you push a button on the remote?

Happens to me randomly and it's really annoying. Can't figure out why it happens.

[Q] Screen flickers on/off while docked

Hey guys I am hoping someone can help with this because I am frustrated bad. I got the keyboard dock yesterday and every time I dock the pad the screen begins flicking on/off. It isn't usable and it is unresponsive to the power button. I have tried rebooting it docked and re-docking but I still get the same issue.
The connection seems solid and when the screen comes on I can use the mouse and keyboard until the screen goes back to sleep or whatever it is doing.
I have tried to disable the track pad but that doesn't seem to help at all.
I have not seen this issue in the forum so hopefully someone can point in the right direction or I am just going to take the thing back.
I also toggled the timeout period to 3 minutes but it was a no go.
It will flicker on for about 5-10 seconds then go off and then back on a few seconds later.
I am running 8.4.4.11
and dock version 209
Thanks for your help,
Pure

[Q] Screen Turns On Randomly

Hi. I'm having an issue with my Verizon S5 where the screen turns on randomly, sometimes a few times a minute, for no apparent reason. Researching the issue, I found a lot of people said the reason they found was that the charge port was bent slightly and after bending it back it fixed the issue. They noticed the screen would behave when it was plugged in because all the connections were forced into their proper places by the charger. However, mine turns on and off regardless of whether or not it is plugged in. I downloaded Wakelock Detector to try to see if there were any apps forcing my screen to wake up but it only listed a couple apps and processes and, combined, they didn't come anywhere near the number of times my screen was woken up. Interestingly, the same day I noticed this problem, my home button also stopped working. It will not turn on the screen when off and it will not bring me to the home screen when the screen is on. I thought maybe it was occasionally functioning, causing my screen to turn on. However, I have never experienced the opposite issue; I have never been using my phone with the screen on and had it suddenly bring me to the home screen. Also, oddly my screen does not have this issue when I am playing music either through the speaker or via bluetooth. If I have music playing, the screen never turns on randomly. If I pause my music, the issue returns and my screen turns on randomly unless I resume my music.
The fact that it doesn't do it while playing music (either over bluetooth or through the speaker) means it must be a software issue rather than a hardware issue. The fact that my home button stopped working at the same time seems to make it seem like a hardware issue but maybe my home button not functioning and my screen turning on and off randomly are both part of the same software issue? I have attached a screenshot of my current version of Android and other details.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Generally, I'd recommend a factory reset just to make sure whether it is or not a software issue.
If the issue is not solved, return the phone.

I was able to fix the problem so I thought I might as well share. I replaced the circuit board that goes under the home button (cost about 10 bucks lol). This is not the home button and cable itself. If you disassemble the S5 to the point where you can see the motherboard, the circuit board at the bottom with the charge port, capacitive buttons, and home button contact is the one I replaced. Hope this helps others with similar issues get working in the right direction. Be very careful disassembling your S5 if you decide to try this route.

Remote wont enter pairing mode?

Seems that recently my nexus player remote has just cropped out. Currently I'm using the android app as well as the HDMI-CEC functionality through the TV remote. Bluetooth on the player is functioning normally. The remote, no matter what, will not enter pairing mode when I hold the home and back buttons. The LED blinks three times in rapid succession and then nothing. Fresh batteries, nothing. Searched for it with other Bluetooth devices, nothing. What's up with my remote? Has this happened to anybody else? My player isn't even a year old yet :/
Did you find a solution to this? This just happened to me. Thought the batteries were dead but fresh batteries don't help.
Press and hold both the back button and the home key at the same time to enter pairing mode for the Nexus remote.
I've got the same problem, cant pair it anymore...

Try to install Android TV remote app from Google Play to your phone or tablet.

Controller issues? B button backs out of apps?

I've been looking for a couple hours all over the internet and can't find a solution. I've tried three different controllers, an Xbox One controller, a MOGA Pro Power controller, and an 8bitdo NES30 Pro, each suffers from the same problem. In almost every app, pushing the far right face button (B on Xbox) issues a "back" command, same as pushing the back button on the device itself. This will close out of any menus I'm trying to interact with, or in some cases close the entire game. To say the least, this is extremely annoying and game ruining. Does anyone know why this is happening? LEX720, Lineage 15.1.
