Can anyone tell me any major differences between farrier branded firmware and the btu firmware. From what I can gather carrier branded get the updates first so would there be any point flashing to btu my device is unlocked would I gain anything thanks.
Im in Australia and my S7 Edge has Optus branded firmware, OTA would be slow with branded firmware.
Im planning to change to unbranded Australia firmware OR the latest Germany firmware.
Would there be any difference in radio, 4G/3G with swapping to Australia unbranded or even Germany unbranded?
Hi...as the title says: Is it possible?
So to flash BTU and after it the CSC for my provider (it's from a MM Firmware)?
Tried the search function but couldn't find a statement.
it works, mine has xeu csc and I have flashed btu without a problem
Yeah...I'm also on BTU now. But I wanted to know if I could flash a 6.0.1 CSC now without problems.
yes, tested by me, downgrade is safe because bootloader binary is the same
Thanks!
@Pet1981 hey there? did you try to flash the marshmallow CSC? I'm thinking of doing so since Samsung Pay has been rolled out in my home country but I'm currently in Switzerland, using the BTU nougat update
Yep! Works without problems
Tried the MM csc for T-Mobile Germany (DTM) in Renovate 7.1.0 (Nougat) and it doesn't work properly, needed to switch back to the german unbranded csc (DBT)
Is it possible for me to flash the unlocked uk firmware BTU if I'm on EVA(EE) and if I did so would I be able to use an o2 sim card and still receive updates? Theres probly a thread for all this but i just cannot see it lol.
Thank you
Hello... It should be haven't done on my s10 plus cos its the unlocked version but did that one note 9 was also on EE and did put the BTU with odin.
I ended up flashing a different countries firmware so that means I'll not get my countries updates soooo.... is it just as easy as flashing the csc EVR (EE) and because I'm in the UK if I flash the firmware BTU (uk) will I still get updates?
You should. You might have to reflash the current firmware for your country / phone though.
