How to get my csc back - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

I ended up flashing a different countries firmware so that means I'll not get my countries updates soooo.... is it just as easy as flashing the csc EVR (EE) and because I'm in the UK if I flash the firmware BTU (uk) will I still get updates?

You should. You might have to reflash the current firmware for your country / phone though.

[Q][I9505] CSC changed itself

hi guys. anyone experienced the same. here's what happened:
i was using i9505 glb kitkat (csc=glb=globe philippines). i flashed clockworkmod, then install carbon rom.
last month, i re-flash my original glb kitkat. then went to recovery. i noticed that the csc changed to sin (singapore singtel) without doing anything.
now my problem is what rom should i use next time i update to lollipop: glb or sin.
pls help and many thanks.
Is your phone SIM unlocked? If it is, it doesn't matter which CSC you use. Otherwise, stay with CSC GLB.
No. I used regionlockaway to make it sim unlocked.
Then as mentioned, the CSC doesn't matter. Case in point is my I9505. Originally an O2 phone, when I purchased it the S4 was already unlocked and had Ukranian firmware on it. When I installed the Black Edition UK firmware (CSC BTU) after repairing my S4's SIM tray and again removing the SIM lock, I ended up with CSC AUT (Switzerland) instead.
On an open firmware such as CSC BTU, there are actually multiple CSCs within the firmware, and all the CSC does is customize the firmware to the needs of a specific region. In the case of AUT, the firmware installed three Swiss-specific apps that could be easily removed. BTU and the other CSCs essentially do the same thing, and I am guessing this is without modifying the firmware itself.
Ok. Thanks guys. I'll still use glb firmware once lollipop is released. I had once semi-bricked my s4 (got repaired at samsung center) so i'm kinda nervous this time.

Nougat Firmware with MM CSC?

Hi...as the title says: Is it possible?
So to flash BTU and after it the CSC for my provider (it's from a MM Firmware)?
Tried the search function but couldn't find a statement.
it works, mine has xeu csc and I have flashed btu without a problem
Yeah...I'm also on BTU now. But I wanted to know if I could flash a 6.0.1 CSC now without problems.
yes, tested by me, downgrade is safe because bootloader binary is the same
Thanks!
@Pet1981 hey there? did you try to flash the marshmallow CSC? I'm thinking of doing so since Samsung Pay has been rolled out in my home country but I'm currently in Switzerland, using the BTU nougat update
Yep! Works without problems
Tried the MM csc for T-Mobile Germany (DTM) in Renovate 7.1.0 (Nougat) and it doesn't work properly, needed to switch back to the german unbranded csc (DBT)

Latest Nougat Firmware - Manual Install (Odin)

Hello folks,
I would like to update my S7 Edge (SM-G935F) to the latest Nougat firmware which if I'm not mistaken arrived UK BTU, which is:
PDA - G935FXXU1DQB3
CSC - G935FOXA1DQB1
I would like to install it via Odin, the most stock way possible (don't want root or custom recovery), just because that I'm tired that it haven't arrived OTA in my country (PT).
But I have a few questions regarding this manually update to the latest firmware of another country:
1) Manually installing the latest update from BTU UK will stop me from receiving future OTA updates? and if no, will I be receiving the OTA updates in the future from UK or PT??
2) My device with the currently firmware has no bloatware from any network (was bought unlocked), if I upgrade to the latest firmware from BTU UK, will I still have no bloatware? (or bloat will be installed?)
3) Will I have any problem from installing a firmware from other country (being both for the same model: SM-G935F)?
Thank you very much in advance! :good:
I have everything ready to make the manual flash, just want to clear this things out before I do it.
Thanks

Each country or region has it's own CSC which can be easily flashed
by itself without the need to odin flash a different country's full firmware.
The only time you need to think about bloatware is if you flash a specific
carrier's firmware like perhaps vodaphone and most other carriers add
their own bloatwares. But if you only flash the regional firmware for your
country or region like BTU UK you will not end up with bloatware.
Good luck and happy flashing!

Future OTA's will not be a problem if you have flashed
the proper CSC for your country before trying to update
future firmwares.

So you are saying that first I should change my CSC to the UK, then flash the latest firmware via Odin and won't have to worry about future updates? Can't I simply flash the latest UK BTU firmware and it will change the CSC and get me the latest firmware in once?

returning phone to stock g950f vod

i have a vodafone uk g950f. i am trying to return it to stock so i can get the screen repaired after breaking it.
i downloaded what was supposed to be the vod uk firmware from samfirm and one from updato. both of these firmwares turned out to be listed wrong and were german.
is there a real uk VOD csc firmware out there? i am now downloading one from sammobil in the hope of it actually being the vodafone uk firmware.
my csc now reads VD2/VOD/VOD and i want to return it to VOD/VOD/VOD if anyone could link me to a verified uk VOD rom it would be very much appreciated as it takes so long to download firmware for it to turn out to be the wrong one.
ok i have now flashed 3 different uk vod firmwares. everytime i boot afterwards and the firmware is german not uk and my csc is vd2/vod/vod? what am i doing wrong?
Flashing the wrong version probably.
I need you to send me your build version from your settings so I can send you the right file to flash.
Hi i got s8 from vodafone and flashed the latest xeu but a few months later started to get screen burn so I had to return phone back to shop but before i did had to flash vod again and I heard stories of people installing it then getting vod2 as csc.
Well I had to try so I went to sammobile firmware and looked for latest UK vod update downloaded that and once I did that checked settings and my phone was back to vod no German vod which was a stroke of luck.

CSC Code Won't Change After Flashing Stock Firmware

Hey guys! So, out of curiosity, I've downloaded and flashed the most recent Oreo from Russia (CSC: SER) thinking that I would like to try out the new Oreo software. After I've tried it, I decided to go back to Nougat by flashing the stock firmware (CSC: XME) I downloaded from sammobile.com. After completing it, someway, somehow, the device is now stuck in the Vietnam CSC (XXV). I've been downloading various of XME firmwares from the past and everytime it finish flashes, it will start up in Vietnamese and I'm stuck again with the Vietnam CSC. Nice that I'm able to get oreo with a Vietnamese CSC, but I don't want to use it because the Samsung Pay works different in Vietnam in comparison to Malaysia. And, I've no idea how flashing a SER and then XME would come out with a XXV CSC is beyond my imagination. Is there anyway for me to return back to my stock CSC without rooting and tripping Knox?
Opening the stock recovery completes the CSC installation, give that a try. It's expected to show "Updating 0-100%".

So, I have done some digging around the internet and found this link from the Sammobile forum. I've tried the methods in that forum, and it works!
If any of you have suffered the same problem as me, you could perform troubleshoot using this method. It seems that firmware for XME is actually multi-CSC and includes other CSC such as Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Myanmar and etc.. The Vietnam CSC is the default CSC.
So, here you go. This is the link: https://www.sammobile.com/forum/threads/39155-How-to-change-CSC-with-a-combination-file
