LG G2 - Luminosity - problem or not ? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Everyone,
First I apologyze, I am not native english so my english is not very good.
So I have a G2 that is is working very correctly (802). It is working very well but I am really wondering something about the luminosity.
Since the loolipop update (I do not know if I had this before), I have a very thin line of luminosity at the top of the G2. It is especially visible in the parameters section, in the task manager or when you want to adjust sound and luminosity. It is very visible on many utube videos.
I cannot post a picture as I am a new user, but do you think it is a bug or a problem ?

Hey
Do you mean backlight bleeding?
After my G2 got the LP update I too noticed a fine illuminated line on top of the screen causing a horizontal gradient. After a short research I found out that this is also present in KK, but due to KK style of the notification bar hardly to see. So it's a hardware issue.
So I went to the local authorised repair shop of LG and showed it via vertical screenshots shown in landscape mode to the worker there. Without any discussion the phone was taken for warranty repair. This is about 12 days ago, still waiting.
BTW, a friend of mine also has a G2 without any bleeding on top.

Hi,
Thanks to have answered. Yes, it is backlight bleeding. I will go to a repair center.
Thks

Wizard Display broken?

Hi guys, I need some help here. I literally threw my wizard out of the window shaking out my bedsheets and it dropped three stories into the backyard.
When I turned it on again (the drop had opened the battery case), at first the screen was bright white, then turned darker and darker showing some sort of noisy stripes (static, not moving). When it goes into standby and is turned on again from there it does the same thing.
some facts:
- there is no visible crack in the display (neither from the side, I disassembled it)
- all buttons and the touchscreen are still responding (u can see that because the background lighting responds to them)
- the wizard is still accessible via usb
- I don't know whether the phone still works because I can't enter the pin w/o display.
It seems strange to me that the display should stop working while the touchscreen and the background lighting remain unhurt. I am thinking about replacing the display (only available together w/ the touchscreen and bg-lighting), but I am afraid that it might rather be a problem with the communication between the main unit and the display, even though there was no visible damage there.
Does anybody have experiences with that kind of behavior of the display?
Is the display that vulnerable that it breaks before the rest (light, touchscreen)?
I didn't find any cases similar to mine in the forum. If there are and my questions would be answered there, please direct me there.
Thanks for the help

Try taking it apart, the force of inpact could have made a connection loose.
Disassembling I disconnected everything possible. Next thing would be to take apart the display/bglight/tscreen.
did you mean that? looks pretty fragile to me...
thx
yeah, I wouldnt mess with the display .. lol .. I meant a connection somewhere inside the device... like a loose ribbon or something
Yeah, seems hopeless. Guess I'll have to buy a new display and hope it works :-(
I'll post again once I got some results...
Problem solved
For the archive:
I exchanged the display and apparently only the screen was broken and the rest was unharmed.
I'd also like to add that two days ago (1 week after I repaired the thing) I dropped a plastic bottle on the phone in such a stupid angle that it broke the touchscreen. the next thing I will report here is whether it is possible to exchange the touchscreen only by doing some soldering.

X1 screen issue

Hi, I got the X1 about two weeks ago.
I just notice that my screen on the bottom left corner is a bit lifted.(I mean it's firm butthe position of the lcd is not good, it's rotate a bit. )
I also noctice that there's an orange light line down there too.
This orange line is easily visible in the dark room.
It seems like the backlight is leak.
Do you have the same issue?
Could you check yours ?
Do you think it is a defective unit?
Should I get a replacement?
Thanks
Sorry for my poor English.
Jack
Here's the pic.
yup...another problem...
I suggest you should ask for a replacement...

[Q] rooted G2 screen suddenly white with black lines can I HTC replace?

As the title says, my G2 suddenly developed the white screen with black vertical line in the center issue. I've read the other threads with this issue- my question is will I have problems having it replaced by HTC because it is rooted? Should I just buy a new screen and replace it?
The phone is receiving notifications as normal, but nothing can be seen on the screen except white/grey background, vertical line in the middle and eventual (in about 2 mins or so) darkening around the corners. The phone was not dropped or anything, was just in pocket- took it out at some point, turned it on and this was what I saw.
hope this is in the right forum. any assistance/advice greatly appreciated.
so no advice from anyone who may have already sent a rooted phone to htc?

[Q] I9506 screen color tone problem

Hi all,
A months ago I bought a new, unopened I9506. When i switched on i realized it has a display failure. The bottom of the screen was pink on bright background (1st attached picture).
I took the phone to the service, they warranty replaced the whole front panel.
But unfortunately the new display isn't perfect either. The abnormal pink color ceased, but on the same area of the screen has different (brighter) color tone like above. I took it back to the service again. After a week they told me, that the instrumental measurement values are normal, and compared to other S4's there isn't any difference.
The fact is, the problem not so significant like before, but is see it, and it is annoying. I attached the current state (2nd picture), but my camera isn't good enough to show the problem properly.
I don't want to disassemby in the warranty period and the service won't solve my problem, so my question is there any software solution to balance the tone of screen partly?
And what could cause this failure? Interference of the antenna, or something push the back of the display?
I don't believe the replacement part is wrong too.
thanks
All screens are different...
Try to *#0*# then select "receiver"
Check the white tone..
I don't think it's defected..
I bought s4 3 tines. Every time tone is different. Amoled never same..
It's normal dude..

[HELP] Green Tint and Touch Problem on Non-Overclocked Screen After Replacement

Hi, everyone. I'm new on XDA. I need some help to fix issues on my phone. So long story short, I dropped my 9T and had the the screen replaced. However, the replacement screen has a very weird green tint on most brightness level, which from what I have researched, only appears on 9T with overclocked screen. Mine is not overclocked. The green tint only disappear at either under 10% brightness level or above 80%. However, I am very sure this is software problem because (1) the green tint disappear when the fingerprint sensor is touched (when it lights up) on the lockscreen, and if I release the fingerprint, before it unlocks, the tint disappear. It become normal. This in on MIUI
(2) on AOSP (I have unlocked the bootloader and tried different custom roms but yield no result) the same behaviour occured. When fingerpirnt is touched on low brightness, tint disappear.
Then I also have this touch problem where practically, if I touch 2 points on the screen which is close, the screen will register my touch as a small swipe. This is really annoying when typing, and I cannot play some rhytm games too because of this. Again, I am quite confident that this is software problem.
Similar problem happened years ago on a OnePlus One phone. Some said it was resolved after an update. Some said OnePlus has fixed it. Others doesn't experience it at all : https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/help/faulty-touch-screen-typing-fast-t2829175
Maybe the default driver from XIaomi isn't compatible with my replacement screen? Or other problems?
I have actually claimed the repair warranty once, because the previous screen also had this problem, plus a blue colour on the side. But the same thing happened here (the green tint and touch problem)
Ps : I am confident the AMOLED panel of the replacement screen is original or at least of the same quality as the original beacuse the colour is very vibrant just like the original one.
Can someone help me with this issue? I am willing to provide any logs or system info or anything.
Thank you! Any help or response is appreciated!!

Please go to the place who replaced the device and ask them to check the screen in another device or ask them to clean the contacts with 99% isopropanol and re attach it.
Hello! I'm having the exact same problem on my Mi A3 - green tinted screen + faulty touchscreen after replacing it, all in the same conditions as yours. What did you do? Did you manage to fix your screen? I'm guessing your solution is probably adequate for me too!
If anyone could help me out with this issue, it'd be really nice! In the store, they replaced my screen 3 times already (the last time, it was supposedly an "original screen", more expensive and harder to get) and the problem still remains... I'm getting desperate over this!
