I recently replaced the screen after my 3-year-old spiked my wife's T-Mobile G2. Everything seems to be working OK now except for the double-tap to turn on the screen.
Before I open it up again, does anyone know if this is a certain connection inside that may be loose? Or could it be a problem with the LCD itself?
Was it resolved?
I encountered same issue and did you have it resolved?

The vibrate function on my HD2 has not been working from day dot so I decided to open it up and check the vibrator. I pushed the vibrator in tight and closed it all up again.
When I turned on the phone, the screen was displaying what looked like 256 colours. The screen is still responsive and everything else seems to work (except of course for the vibrator).
Question is: Have I broken the screen or is there a connection problem which would cause this?
Any ideas please?
Im not really sure. Was there anything you did that made it stop working?
ok - for anyone in the same situation. I have managed to put a 3mm split in the flexi cable between screen and motherboard.
Off to ebay to get a new one now.
Hello,
I am currently experiencing a issue with my eee pad touch screen. I bought my tab on labor day. I experienced the issue show in the video. After sending the tab in 3 times I ended up getting a "new" tab with the same issue. The issue is that some times the touch points go crazy (wasn't show in this video) Other times it half works. The temp fix to this issue is to put the tab into sleep (shown in the video) and to turn it back on. The issue seems fixed.
The disturbing part is that I believe this tab they said was replaced was the same tab before. It has the same issue, the dead pixel is in the same place and the creaking left side is 100% similar.
Has a anyone experienced this issue and has a perm fixed been found?
Thanks

Only problem I've experienced with touch is crosstalk between multitouch points, and that the device can register touch outside the screen area (especially at the bottom).
I have the exact same issue. And the same solution as well, press the power button, unlock again - everything works ... it is annoying but does not happen too often.
One time it was an offset issue and i couldn't access the bottom button bar - but same solution.
Hi!
I lost my phone on the ground and it got a big crack across the screen. However, the screen is still on, the picture and colors and everthing is fine, except there is not reaction when I touch. I've tried resetting the phone but it doesn't work. There is not touch anywhere in the screen. So I'm wondering if the digitalizer is broken, or if the problem is elsewhere? Can I fix this? Would it work if I bough a new dispplay and digitalizer to replaced the old one?
Maybe the touch screen is not working? If you turn on the phone, do you get the animations correctly?
I get the animations correctly. Everyhing seems to be just fine, except i cant touch.
Hi all,
So I dropped my phone and now the bottom area of the touchscreen does not work. I can see everything clearly but can't touch the bottom (1cm) of the screen.
Anyone faced this issue?
Thanks
You will need to replace the screen. I've seen this happen with my co-worker's phone. After I replaced the screen, everything was fine.
Hello everyone.
I've been using my Joying JY-UL1282N2 for a couple of years now, and I'm really happy with it. But last week the screen has been making problems. I feel that there's a contact issue which causes the screen to suddently turn off. Pressing on the bottom of the screen bezel causes the screen to work fine. The touchscreen works all the time, even when the screen is off.
Here's a video showing the problem:

I think it's a hardware issue. Is there a simple way to fix this? I really have no need to upgrade the unit, it's still running the stock ROM too.
Thanks for any help!
