So I thought I busted my earpiece and had it replaced, but it didn't fix the issue. Basically, there's no sound coming out of the earpiece, the part you put up to your ear when talking to someone.
Do you think it might be a motherboard issue or something else?
Just in case, I did flash stock 4.4.2 before sending it in for repair. So it's not on the software side either.

I bought and replaced a rear speaker and installed it. I still have no sound I even restored phone back to factory. Any ideas what could be wrong? Thank you
Sounds like a hardware problem. Make sure you connected the speaker correctly.
The speaker you bought could also be bad, you could have not installed it correctly, the connector on the motherboard could be bad, it could be a software problem (flashing stock rom would tell you this), or it could be a sound card problem on the board.
Hello, i got a Defy with this issue, i had no sound on the earpiece (i know about the infamous case of faulty earpieces) and no sound on the loudspeaker and neither using the headphones... it could be a software problem? Everything else is working fine, there's no water damage at first sight (i haven't opened the phone yet, to check the motherboard if rust is present)... physically its in excellent condition...
Someone had this problem before? What should I do before doing exhaustive flashing / changing parts? Thank you and sorry for my english.
When I put my S4 on speaker pone apparently its really distorted for the person on the receing end of the call, they feel like I'm talking to loud, the problem isn't there when I'm normally speaking through the ear piece but persists with the speaker phone for some reason. Is there anyway to fix this.
canned air. there might be lint stuck in the microphone or the speakerphone.
if not it's probably broken and you need to return it.
I ended up using compressed air to blow my phone off. After i was done, the mic for in calls is not working now, i have to use my phone on speaker phone now to talk to anyone, my question is do i have to replace the whole loudspeaker assembly to fix this or can i buy a replacement mic and change it, i can't seem to find a replacement mic for my phone. Thanks.
Hi guys, so I have a cricket galaxy s4 (old cricket), and it has no sound what so ever whether it be from the main speaker, ear peace, or if I put earphones into the headphone jack. The microphones don't work either when sound is gone, and I'm wondering why this is. I don't think it's a software issue because no matter if I flash to another rom I still get no sound but I may be wrong. The audio sometimes works like normal , and when the audio comes back the micrphones start working again but then it goes away if it's like shaken or something. So can you guys help me out? I'm not sure if this is some deep software problem or a hardware problem (think it might be charging port?), hopefully you guys can help out thanks.
The best way to troubleshoot this problem is to completely restore your phone to stock and then, if the problem persist, it's most likely an hardware defect or a bad contact between the motherboard and components
