Carriers in Romania, like much of Europe, use bands 3, 20, and 7. The only band the Nexus 4 has is band 4. So, in short, no, you won't get LTE in Romania with a Nexus 4.

How

Orange uses 3 and 7. Telekom uses 3. Vodafone uses 3 and 20.
All this is irrelevant regarding the Nexus 4 though, because as I said above, the Nexus 4 only supports band 4.

Google Nexus 4 - Finally, LTE or NOT?

Hi everyone,
Is Google Nexus 4 finally a fully LTE capable phone or not? and is there any official news from Google that they might patch it to not work with LTE anymore?
Thanks
It technically works on one (I think) band that LTE uses, in Canada, but I think that's it. As far as I know it would need some more hardware to be fully supported on all LTE bands.
TLDR; for realistic purposes, no

Which band is that? 2100Mhz? and if so then it's fully supported in Canada?! ??? Of course all LTE bands are not supported by any phones out there because of differences in USA, Canada, Japan, and Europe...
It's confusing because some news say that LTE antenna is needed and more hardware components so I don't understand why one of the bands work when hardware components are missing. Of course, it is not LTE when only the name LTE shows beside the signal and speed is not great.
I think it would be best if someone can post their speeds on Rogers, Bell, Fido, and Telus and let us know if LTE really works.
Well that thread already exists:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2007943
It only works on LTE band 4 and Google has already said they cannot update the phone to work on the rest of the LTE bands as the hardware is not in the phone. Band 4 is there by default in the LTE chip.
What is LTE Band 4? Can you please explain a bit.
Thanks

Google better not try to "disable", but glad someone brought that to my attention as I will be checking before i update anything

I can't say for sure, but after a quick search, I noticed Cricket Wireless' network bands are the same as AT&T's. That means our Nexus 4 cannot connect to its 4G network even if you flash a hybrid radio.
I know tmobile ised band 4 for lte and att have the same band
ATT BANDS
4G HSPA and HSPA+*
850Mhz (Band 5)
1900Mhz (Band 2) bands but it all depends on area if they own a license.*
LTE*
Band 17(700Mhz),
Band 5(850Mhz),*
Band 2(1900Mhz),*
Band 4(1700/2100Mhz)*
LG/Google Nexus 4 that the device included hardware necessary for LTE on at least some of its bands, namely bands 1 (2100 MHz), 2 (1900 MHz), and 4 (AWS 1700/2100)
Ummm I'm on cricket and my LTE works fine
Are you using a Nexus 4?

The Nexus 4 only has LTE with band 4, after you've flashed a hybrid radio and set it to LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) in your dialer settings (dial *#*#4636#*#* and go to Phone settings).
So should work perfect with New cricket service since used at&t towers and have band 4 too right?
But u dont know how get lte just got HSPA AND HSPAP may need another apn settings and specific radio?

I don't know how to get it to work properly with AT&T, and I don't know their APN settings. But there's this thing called "google" that might be able to steer you in the right direction.
Already try different apn settings but nothing work that's why i recur to you guys if can point me on the right direction

I know it's been a while, so hopefully you had the issue resolved. If not, have you tried contacting Cricket? I just switched with my Nexus 4, and in a chat they were able to provide all the info to set up Access Point Names. The same settings are listed at this website: https://apn.gishan.net/settings/60_22_cricket_apn_settings_for_lg_google_nexus_4.php
Upon rebooting the phone, a symbol "H" appeared next to the cellular symbol. Looks like it's better than 3G, although not quite 4G. However, it works for me just fine.

Are there different versions of Nexus 6P for Europe and US ?

I was planing to ask my friend to get me a Nexus 6p from US and bring it over to Europe and I was wondering if there are different versions of Nexus 6P for US and Europe (with different sets of LTE bands ) ? Will I have a problem of using it with European GSM bands (specifically the LTE/4G) ?
Thanks

LTE/4G will be a problem
Agreed, the US version has less bands than the international version. It does not have band 8, which is what most of the UK's 4g network runs on. There are a few exceptions, but most of them work of band 8.

This, it's also missing band 20, which is used for 4G networks in the Netherlands and most of mainland Europe as far as I know. Basically a US Nexus 6P won't work on 4G/LTE in Europe.

Ahh, ok then :/ That was my shot to get this phone cheaper, it's ridiculous how expensive it is here compared to US .
Thanks for the response.
I know that here in Ireland Vodafone (my carrier) use both band 20 and band 3, with band 3 usage being more recent. I am doing my research at the moment but am hoping that if I get a US Nexus 6P I will be able to use it here with Vodafone LTE on band 3.
Crossing fingers,
M
Where can I find more info on these various nexus 6p variants?

US Version and International have the same amount of bands just different ones. No one in Europe runs on band 8. UK runs mostly on 3/7/20. So most likely you will get LTE coverage from your carrier unless you're with O2 or Vodaphone since they only support band 20.
US: 2/3/4/5/7/12/13/17/25/26/29/30
International: 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/9/17/19/20/28
Use an app like LTE Discovery to see what band you're using in your most frequented places.

Vodafone UK help

hi all, I have just purchased the awesome oneplus 2 locally BUT didn't realise that it is the Chinese model until i got home.
Unfortunately I am with Vodafone UK and 4G doesn't seem to work, so i was hoping someone had an idea on what i can do with regards to this?
Would flashing a radio help? Thanks in advance

Vodafone UK uses Band 20 & Band 7 for LTE & the Chinese OP2 (A2001) only has Bands 1, 3 & 7 enabled.
So, if you're not in a Band 7 area (very limited ATM), you won't be able to use LTE.
Flashing a radio won't help as the three different models have different bands enabled in hardware.
Only the European/Asian version (A2003) has Band 20 enabled.
Ref:
EU/Asia (A2003)
LTE: Bands 1/3/5/7/8/20
North America (A2005)
LTE: Bands 1/2/4/5/7/8/12/17
China (A2001)
LTE: 1/3/7
ah ok thanks for the reply mate I appreciate it, looks like im either stuck with the device on 3G until band 7 is rolled out or see if anyone local wants to swap ha

International Stravel Support

Does anyone have experience taking the Verizon Galaxy S7 Edge overseas? Or know what international frequency bands it supports?
I'll be traveling soon to Europe (France, Switzerland, Germany). Curious if I'll be able to get LTE with local carriers there.
Thanks!

Dumb suggestions but:
Make sure your in global mode in settings > mobile networks > network mode.
Make sure your APN is correct for your SIM (I assume your using a local Sim).
Make sure to turn off advanced calling so the phone isn't stuck to stay on LTE during calls.

Thanks! I did some digging and found and charted the specs for the Verizon, AT&T, and France S7 Edge models. You can see the details in the attached Excel spreadsheet. Hope this is helpful for you guys planning a trip or traveling. Got the French specs from the Samsung France website.
The Verizon model is missing a few LTE bands that the French model has: 1, 12, 17, 25, 26, 28
I found this detailed LTE chart for France. Looks France mainly uses 3, 7, 20, and 28 -- so the Verizon model covers three of the four.
There's also this global LTE band chart, and this LTE chart for Europe.
Quick LTE band primer based on what I've learned:
LTE bands all have a number and a corresponding frequency. This list seems standardized worldwide. So for example band 1 is 2100, band 2 is 1900. In my Excel those are represented as B1(2100) and B2(1900). On the different web pages I link to, sometimes they refer to the bands just by number, and sometimes just by frequency, and sometimes both. But be careful, there are multiple bands with the same frequency number, but they are not the same -- for example both band 2 and band 25 are 1900.
I hope this helps others with your travels!
Anyone who has used the S7 in other countries (either Verizon SIM or a local carrier SIM) please do share your experience!
P.S. For those of you like me who have a spouse with an iPhone (ugh), Apple has a helpful chart of their LTE compatibility.
