Voice unlock - Verizon Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've searched and can't find a solution. I can find the menu under security settings but when I click on trusted voice settings nothing happens. Places, devices, and on body settings open up but not trusted voice. I am stock non rooted. Can anyone help? This is my first samsung phone.

You might need to update your Google app. All the settings for trusted voice are in there.

You were absolutely correct. Thank you!

Google Voice - disabling it

Does anyone know how to disable the Google Voice integration?
Right now the phone is set on using Google Voice by default and I cannot access the Google Voice icon nor change the settings when placing a call.
Thanks.
What do you mean you can't access the Google Voice Icon? If you mean that you can't find it, just type voice into the search box and it will bring it up.
Once you are in the app, press the menu button at the bottom of the screen and choose settings. Then choose the Making Calls option to change it.
Google voice icon and restoration
I mean exactly what I meant: the Google voice icon disappeared and there was no way to either launch it or reinstall it.
This is what I did to fix it: I did a clean phone from the bootloader and then I set Google Voice differently. I can now see the icon.
Just an FYI I think you can also change all of these settings by logging onto to https://www.google.com/voice

I'm guessing English is not your first language because you first appear to be asking how to disable Google Voice, then say you cannot find the icon, and your fix is even more confusing, saying you cleaned the phone from bootloader and set GVoice differently. Vague. And this whole thread is pointless.

Problem with Speakerphone

I have just discovered that when you dial 611 and it opens the "My Account" app with the US T-Mobile 2.13 rom update that it will disable your speakerphone until you reboot the handset. Now if you call directly T-Mobile via the 1-800-866-2453 number, it doesn't activate the "My Account" app and hence the speakerphone is not affected. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I've had the phone for 3 months now and it just started happening on my HD2 right now. I was freaking out thinking I was going to have to hard reset just for my speakerphone not working! (I use it a lot) For users that have a slightly different setup go to the "T-Mobile Help" App, like the above poster said, and the difference is when you go to "Tips & Tricks," you'll see "Top Tips." Click that & then click "Call Care Assist." Then you can disable it from there.
So, in short:
T-Mobile Help > Tips & Tricks > Top Tips > Call Care Assist > Disable.
But thanks to shehrammajid for his super helpful post!
& to tomparrish for addressing it in the fist place!

Couple of questions/issues

My brother in law is having all kinds of issues with his intercept. Here are the 2 most annoying for him and I don't have an answer but I am hoping somebody else does. The froyo 2.2 brought bluetooth voice dialing to android. It works fine on my evo but he cannot get it to work on the intercept. Does anybody else have this working? I read on another forum that you need to go to the settings and go down to search options and enable it there. There is no google search in his settings. Also there is no option for speed dial. Any help there?
One last thing. After the froyo update did anybody else lose the ability to link contacts with facebook? Before the update you had to create a contact on the phone and then you could link that with your gmail contact and the facebook contact. Now there is no option to create one on the phone.

I am not sure about most of your concerns, but I can perhaps recommend something for your speed dialing issue.
In the Android Market, there is an app called Speed Dial Old School by Maplekey Company. It will allow you to set up Speed Dialing your way, setting number choices from 2-99 and by dialing the select number, it will automatically dial that contact.

[Q] Defy Mini - Keyboard in Contact List

Hello,
When I go into Contact List, I want to search contact by typiing his name. Does anybody figure out, how to popup keyboard and search box automatically (when I go to contact list)? Even when i click "magnifying glass" button in Contact application, i must click again on text field to search a contact
Just got answer from official motorola support:
Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting Motorola.
Such a feature as the one you described is not available on the phone out of the box.
You might want to have a look at the applications on the Play Store to find any suitable programs adding such
functionality.

Google voicemail won't play(verizon)

So I set up google voice to work on my 6P but when I don't answer, nothing plays. I still get a notification on my phone that I got a voicemail but the person calling me doesn't hear any greeting. I have set one up though. Any ideas what the problem may be?
I reset the google voice app and when it tries to setup the voicemail, it says unfortunately your network carrier is currently not supported for automatic voicemail configuration. Not sure what to do. I hit configure and tried both your carrier and google voice for the service and still have the same problem as above. If I click google voice, I get the your network doesn't support automatic voicemail configuration. Any help?
