Hey folks,
if you prerooted your Z3 Compact, already have a customrecovery and don´t want to use the outstanding PRFCreator from zxz0O0.
If you rooted your device properly with the firmwareexploit and you don´t flash any custom kernel, your warranty should be untouched.
Any questions or answers?.... i recommend reading the orginal links from the creators of the tools i used. You find them in the bottom of thread and you should be able to do it yourself.
This thread only exists to save your time, obviously for convienence and the wellbeing of my thanksmeter
I recommend to make a clean flash to avoid any problems. Diry flashing should also work, but it would be wisely to at least wipe your caches.

Yep
So what's the process for flashing this? This is a zip file vs a tft file. I have done a lot of TFTs and maybe 1 or 2 zips over the years. Have searched Google and XDA for "flashing zip file Flashtool" and am getting all kinds of different results, nothing clear: it would be good to post the process (or a link) here along with the file, rather than just the files. It is good to keep everyone up to speed. Thanks!
Would it be this link? The zip file contains boot.elf , but not boot.img or kernel.elf . There is fotakernel.elf though.

You´ll find a Baltic Version with same version in the top of the thread and with a newer version of XZDualRecovery. AndroidFilehost should be speedy enough.
i always wait for a newer version of XZDualRecovery (must be dated after the ftf-firmware itself) before i create a zip.
Hi,
What's the flashing process please?
I'm used to HTC and Samsung. Can I simply copy the pre-rooted zip to my internal storage or extremal SD and flash? (With wipes to ensure clean flash)
I already have root and custom recovery.
Do I need to follow any additional steps?
The thread in the 'General' section which guides through upgrading whilst keeping root talks about making your own pre-rooted image with PRFC (from step 27 onwards) but then has loads of other complicated steps to follow which baffle me.
I don't understand why that is necessary if I'm already rooted..
Thank you.

Just put this zip on your phones memory (internal/external) and flash it via TWRP or CWM. No magic tricks needed. You don´t have to wipe your device if your on an rooted stock rom. Wiping Cache+Dalvikcache is recommended.

Will I have any issues such as my baseband etc. being older versions?
I'm wondering whether the whole process of flashing the non-rooted version of the rom (with 'System' part deselected) upgrades this.... and what the pros & cons of following that process are.

There should be no issues, the zips i created are basically a full rom, i would not recommend to deselect any partitions before flashing, If you want to flash a nonrooted version and you wanna revert to full stock please use:
Androxyde: http://www.flashtool.net/ with an orginal ftf-file: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/list-stock-firmwares-d5803-d5833-t2906706

I have noticed there is an updated firmware for almost all the notes except the Plus version of the polish model.
Can I easily update to the non-braded polish firmware without rooting the phone and losing all my data? I want to get on-track to receive update from samsung not plus (using OTA or Kies).
Will I be less likely to receive updates as I have the Plus version? I feel like my gNote has been left out of all the fun.
Thanks
You have to root your SGN first, and than flash KK9 (PL language included) firmware for instance. No need to wipe user/system data.
Did the above myself, my Note is also from PL Plus carrier.

Out of all the options what did you use to root the phone?
Also did you then just use Odin to flash the new firmware?
CWN used ?
I followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
Starting from the line:
-----------------------------------------Forget all Above and follow simple Step below------------------------------
2. I Want ROOT + CWM
Using PC:
Download corresponding to your stock CF modded kernel, follow the instructions. After that you'll end up with a rooted SGN, and yes the kernel includes CWM.
Using mobile odin pro from the market:
(can also be done directly from the CWM recovery, but not sure whether you gonna get the flashing counter +1)
Flash KK9 or whatever kernel you prefer.
Hope that helps, cheers.
Hi to all,
I am posting the link for a cwm as closest to stock for the european atrix (nordics greece), with bootloader unlocked, rooted, mem and battery fix. It's as close to stock with the aforementioned modifications. I thought this cwm
may be helpful to fruitcakes (they were missing the european ones) or anybody who want to revert to unlocked, rooted stock.
The process I followed was the following:
1. Flash from 2.3.6 based rom to stock 2.3.4 of the european sbf (nordics and greece) 1FF-olympus_emara-user-2.3.4-4.5.2A-74_OLE-31.20-release-keys-signed-NonEFIGSRetail-EU (kindly uploaded by haki.gr)
2. unlock (intl fix 1)
3. install romracer's cwm
4. rooting with root_cwm.img
5. memory fix with ramfix.img, and
6. battery fix with jug6 fix2.img
7. cwm full backup (including webtop) and upload
Information (reading from the phone)
System version 45.31.20.MB860.NonEGIGSRetail.en.EU
Android version 2.3.4
Baseband N_01.100.00R
Webtop WT-1.2.0-133_38
Kernel 2.6.32.9

Hi, thanks for this. I tried installing using Koush CWM 5.0.2.0 and I get:
"Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update package...
Installation aborted."
I'm running a euro atrix (originally t-mobile) SIM unlocked, rooted, currently on CM9 ROM.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
Hi Appy,
I tried to flash back, there was a system error, I think I messed up the recovery process. Just to be safe, I will remove the file, redo it, and post an MD5 (just in case of corrupt files).
I don't know if it makes any difference that I used the romracers.
brilliant. thanks a lot!

After updating my phone I have lots of problems with it, even after factory reset.
Is there any way to go back to the firmware that was before the OTA firmware that was released yesterday?
Sure you can .. download the flash tool and the FTF of you choice and ... happy flashing.
Sure, download latest flashtool and do a full flash of 4.3 firmware.
But before that, try this.
Download this 4.4.2 ftf (others i didnt tested, probably them are also ok) and make a full flash.
Maybe you will be surprised with results.

Thank you. I will give it a try.
The main problem after the update is the my phone is out of signal most of the time. Before the update this were never a problem.
Do I need root or is it just straight forward using flashtool?
Flashtool works with rooted, unrooted, and locked/unlocked bootloaders phones.
Just make sure to use latest version flashtool (9.0.15 i think).
And (somebody correct me if im wrong) if yours bootloader is locked and you want to stay like that, then its a goid idea to exclude TA partition from flashing.

Sorry for all my questions. I have never used flashtool before, this is my first sony phone so it is new to me.
I start my phone in download mode?
Choose flash i flashtool?
Then what, any option here that should be ticked besides the TA option?

What updates?
You dont want KitKat right?

I don't think so. 142 is the best.

Sorry to hijack but I have a few similar questions that I've tried searching for but can't quite find definite answers.
I have a new Xperia Compact from O2. O2 branded (splash screen & a few apps), unlocked (via eBay code) and unrooted. I'm not worried about backing up because the handset is still fresh with not much on it. I do not wish to root because certain apps I require will no longer work. This is my first Sony handset in years so I'm hoping one of you more experienced folk can help me.
1. Can I download any generic ROM from here and install it using Flashtool?
2. Will it remove the O2 branding permanently?
3. Will I be able to receive OTA updates in the future or will I have consigned myself to using flashtool for every update?
Thank you in advance.

Yes, you can flash JB or the new KitKat but I recommend keeping the phone on JB because the update for KK has bugs, like battery loss, sound stuttering and many more
Download the latest flashtool, it's very easy to use even as a "new player", check wipe for all and it should do the trick.
As far as the O2 apps, I believe they will be removed with a fresh flash of a new firmware if you do a complete wipe and OTA will work as long as you don't unlock bootloader, at least for sony firmware.
Hi all!
Yesterday I was finally able to root my ITV NG1 firmware (post 3June) manteining Knox 00!!!!
I'have used the genial idea of the mythic _alexndr from Note3 forum and Toweroot!
How to:
1 - download and flash with Odin (in my case ITV) NG1 firmware from Sammobile;
2 - download and install Towerloot - NOT USE NOW;
3 - download (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/97141308/p605/NEE-P605XXUCNF2 kernel.rar) and flash 4.4.2 NEE NF2 kernel (this firmware is older than 3 june);
4 - now you are able to root the device as usual with Towelroot (there are a lot of guides on XDA);
5 - download (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/97141308/p605/ITV-P605XXUCNG1 kernel.rar) and flash 4.4.2 ITV NG1 kernel.
6 - Check root with RootChecker anch check Knox00 with PhoneInfo;
7 - Enjoy!
IMPORTANT NOTE
Obviously step 5 (as is) is just for the owners of ITV devices, otherwise you need to have the proper kernel.
How to?
1 - Download and unzip (with winrar or 7zip) your firmware
2 - Take BOOT.IMG (that contains the kernel) and use it with this (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/97141308/p605/tar-Tool_Odin3-v3.07_by_mkh.mourad (1).zip) wonderful tool by mkk_mourad to prepare the .TAR of your proper kernel. I just want to thanks and confirm this worked flawlessly on my P605 with TPH CNG1 firmware. Thank you!
[Question removed. I just realized trowelroot never worked for P600, not because of the post June 3 Kernel date on the NI1 firmware]

I used the kernel linked to by konroma on my P605XXUCNG1 malaysian firmware set and it worked fine for rooting with towelroot (although I had to re-sign in to my wifi). After rooting I extracted the boot.img from the original (Malaysian) firmware as per the insfructions and flashed that back in, so now I'm back on to latest stock kernel again but with root.

Hi ,
You can download the firmware from HERE
Works perfectly with latest TGY-P605ZSUCOD1 firmware
@mtvento
which kernel u flashed ?
Kernel from latest firmware (ITV)
Voilà new kernel from P605XXUDOB1_P605ITVDOD1_ITV (CSC Italy).
Follow the guide from OP, unzip the attached boot_img_P605XXUDOB1_P605ITVDOD1_ITV.zip, then flash boot.tar.md5 with Odin.
Tested today on my P605
KNOX 0x0
Thank you!! It worked on mine too!!

i9500xxuhoc5
Israel (Cellcom) 5.0.1 I9500XXUHOC5
or
I9500XXUHOI1
I want to download the full rom and then extract only the modem and flash it
is it possible? how to do it?
found the download link but when I extract all I have is 1 file:
tar.md5
thanks so much!!
Hey are you referring to the official full rom/firmware downloaded from sammobile.com?
I know this sounds ridiculous, but I got around my modem issues by installing the official rom/firmware from the above website (thus installing the proper modem), then flashing everything I wanted from there (TWRP, custom rom, xposed, etc.)
(I couldn't find a mirror for my exact modem...... :s)
Hope this helps

Hi sorry I'm unaware of a rom named "infules v4", but I'd first would go flash stock OFW just to ascertain that its a software/modem fault, rather than a hardware fault.
For instance, me being in Australia and having an Optus sim card, I flashed the firmware package with the XXUHOJ3 Modem in it (http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/62513/I9505XXUHOJ3_I9505OPSHOJ1_OPS/).
Assuming you downloaded: (http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/57455/I9500XXUHOI1_I9500OJKHOI1_CEL/);
Open up ODIN and load the firmware to PDA/AP (depending on which version of ODIN you've got).
From there you can root, flash twrp, install "infules v4", and whatever other goodness you like
Note: Just whatever you do, make sure you do a nandroid backup prior
