Hi all!
Yesterday I was finally able to root my ITV NG1 firmware (post 3June) manteining Knox 00!!!!
I'have used the genial idea of the mythic _alexndr from Note3 forum and Toweroot!
How to:
1 - download and flash with Odin (in my case ITV) NG1 firmware from Sammobile;
2 - download and install Towerloot - NOT USE NOW;
3 - download (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/97141308/p605/NEE-P605XXUCNF2 kernel.rar) and flash 4.4.2 NEE NF2 kernel (this firmware is older than 3 june);
4 - now you are able to root the device as usual with Towelroot (there are a lot of guides on XDA);
5 - download (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/97141308/p605/ITV-P605XXUCNG1 kernel.rar) and flash 4.4.2 ITV NG1 kernel.
6 - Check root with RootChecker anch check Knox00 with PhoneInfo;
7 - Enjoy!
IMPORTANT NOTE
Obviously step 5 (as is) is just for the owners of ITV devices, otherwise you need to have the proper kernel.
How to?
1 - Download and unzip (with winrar or 7zip) your firmware
2 - Take BOOT.IMG (that contains the kernel) and use it with this (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/97141308/p605/tar-Tool_Odin3-v3.07_by_mkh.mourad (1).zip) wonderful tool by mkk_mourad to prepare the .TAR of your proper kernel. What device do you have? We only concern with P600. Anything else is easy to root and keep Knox @ 0x0.

I'm speaking about P605 (and i haven't yet read nothing about root on fw dated after 3 june)!
I just want to thanks and confirm this worked flawlessly on my P605 with TPH CNG1 firmware. Thank you!
[Question removed. I just realized trowelroot never worked for P600, not because of the post June 3 Kernel date on the NI1 firmware]
very nice it works perfect

I used the kernel linked to by konroma on my P605XXUCNG1 malaysian firmware set and it worked fine for rooting with towelroot (although I had to re-sign in to my wifi). After rooting I extracted the boot.img from the original (Malaysian) firmware as per the insfructions and flashed that back in, so now I'm back on to latest stock kernel again but with root.

Hi ,
You can download the firmware from HERE
Works perfectly with latest TGY-P605ZSUCOD1 firmware
@mtvento
which kernel u flashed ?
Kernel from latest firmware (ITV)
Voilà new kernel from P605XXUDOB1_P605ITVDOD1_ITV (CSC Italy).
Follow the guide from OP, unzip the attached boot_img_P605XXUDOB1_P605ITVDOD1_ITV.zip, then flash boot.tar.md5 with Odin.
Tested today on my P605
KNOX 0x0
Thank you!! It worked on mine too!!

Still haunting for Indian Stock Galaxy Note Firmware...A screen Shot is attach for better understanding.
Image of system information on Purchase...and after purchase...a minor update (KJ9 kernel to KK3 Kernel) are attached for ref.
I updated to KK3 and then rooted and flashed KK1 CF-Root and taken CWM backup.
How could I go back to pure stock. In case I recover from back up ( after all efc and CSC restore using root explorer [backed up earlier]) it will go back to stock however the kernel info will be different...Hope I make devs understand the issue.
There in no where Indian stock firmware available or even CF-Root thread there is no Kj9 or KK3.
You hav backedup after CF root, your backup alreadt contains Root and CF kernel.
Cf root KK1 is same as KK3, as already you have done this.
To go completely back to original stock, you have to follow same procedure by which you hav injected CF kernel. First of all you need is original kernel (i dont know wether available at present) extract that original kernel, get zImage file and CFrootflash, like you did it earlier. Now you have stock firmware n Root
Use zergrush unroot tool to unroot device, then only you will get complete original stock firmware
Read this for further detail

Thanks...I understand the process you mentioned. The only point here is that nowher I have found KJ9 or KK3 ( Original Indian Stock Kernel )...!!!
KJ9 is old, look for KK1 if you get, once you get kk1 again you can update over OTA to get KK3

EDIT* SOLVED* - Solution in post #13 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57050358&postcount=13
Current ROM : KOT49H.G900FXXU1ANG9
Target ROM: G900FXXU1ANE2_G900FOXA1ANE2_BTU.zip
Model: SM-G900F
Reason for doing this:
I want root without tripping the KNOX bit, so I must use TowelRoot, but it's incompatible with my current ROM
I would like a ROM for my region (it's a grey import phone)
Can anyone confirm?
Will this flash trip the KNOX bit?
Will there be any issues arising from the fact the ROMs have different regions (one is Netherlands (I think?) target is UK)?
How can I verify that the kernel in "G900FXXU1ANE2_G900FOXA1ANE2_BTU.zip" is official and signed by Samsung before flashing? I downloaded it from here... http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/29315/G900FXXU1ANE2_G900FOXA1ANE2_BTU.zip/
I've looked around the forum and I'm confident it will be ok, but I rarely see people flashing different region ROMs. Any help and advice is much appreciated!
Thank you
1- Flash newest rom for your region with odin
2- flash old kernel with odin and then root your phone using towel
3- flash latest kernel with odin
Check here for roms link

Thank you, ok heres what I'll do
1. Download latest ROM for my region (UK) : BTU G900FXXU1ANG2 Android 4.4.2 03.07.2014 (BTU-G900FXXU1ANE2-20140512140232.zip)
Edit* 1.5. Wait for 600 hours for rapidgator.net's download to finish
2. Flash with odin (version 3.09 from the link on this page http://www.galaxys5update.com/firmware-g900fxxu1ane2-4-4-2-galaxy-s5-sm-g900f/ )
3. Download BTU G900FXXU1ANE2 Android 4.4.2 08.05.2014 (BTU-G900FXXU1ANCE-20140408194209.zip) (pre-June kernel donor ROM)
4. Flash kernel from 4.4.2 08.05.2014
5. TowelRoot
6. Flash kernel from 4.4.2 03.07.2014
7. Report back
I hope this works. I'm very concerned about the KNOX bit
Any good tutorials on only flashing the kernel from a ROM image?

You can open rom image with winrar and then extract kernel file (boot.img) and flash it with odin
Is there any way to make sure all the files are signed prior to flashing?
Not mirrors, but these files have the same descriptions and the download is much faster.

http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/31537/G900FXXU1ANE2_G900FVIR1AND2_VIR.zip/
I assume there's nothing wrong with using the ones provided on sammobile.com with regards to tripping the KNOX bit?
Hit a snag,
Not sure how to flash 'boot.img'.
Will I get away with just creating a *.tar containing only 'boot.img' using 7zip and then flash with odin?
Anyone?
Finger is on the button
Update: Will gamble and proceed with the technique here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2446269
I read that 7-zip tars are *NOT* compatible with odin (can't confirm).
Ok, everything worked.
But I'm a tool, and as some of you may have noticed I installed the Virgin Mobile ROMs rather than a carrier-free BTU version.
So I'm going to repeat the process and pray that flashing over a rooted OS doesn't trip the KNOX. (Does anyone know if it does or not?)
It's getting late tonight but I'll try and get back tomorrow with a final step-by-step.
Solved! Try at your own risk!
Thanks very much to iNTER5Love for leading me in the right direction!
SM-G900F Only!
As of today I am rooted running a post-June 2014 ROM and my KNOX status is 0x0!
Back story: I live in the UK and I bought a grey import S5 SM-G900F to save some cash (about £150!). It came with a different language and non-UK region specific ROM. I wanted root but my phone had a post-June 2014 ROM so TowelRoot wouldn't work. Keeping KNOX 0x0 was important to me also (this is day 1 and I didn't want to lose the warranty immediately.)
Rant: That said, I refuse to accept rooting voids the warranty. Despite what Samsung say, we are European consumers and we have rights! If root did not directly damage your device and you can prove it (after 6 months) or Sammy can't prove it did (before 6 months) then you have a warranty! Be prepared to fight for it though.
To business:
In my experiments I found that you can feel free to do the following without tripping the KNOX counter:
You can flash a different region ROM as long as it's official (e.g. from SamMobile)
You can root using TowelRoot
You can unroot using SuperSU
You can flash kernels using ODIN (again, as long as they are from official Samsung ROMs)
You can mess up at least once I accidentally flashed a Virgin Mobile ROM instead of a carrier-free ROM. I repeated the steps again and I was fine.
Materials you will need:
Target ROM (the ROM you want to be on when we're done)
Donor ROM (a ROM identical to the target, but with a build date before June 2014)
TowelRoot (for the 0x0 KNOX-safe root) - https://towelroot.com/
tar-Tool_Odin3-v3.07 (for preparing the donor and target kernels for flashing) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2446269
ODIN 3.09 - https://mega.co.nz/#!UdRRyCAT!H4FyVxYynNWvXqRNmnpMGQRCP-dG3uykgP2pT4rh8Ek
I've put the steps I took into guide form as follows...
Download the latest version of the ROM you want (Target ROM) AND a version of the target ROM with a build date before June 2014 (Donor ROM). The ROMs MUST be official ROMs released by Samsung (e.g. from SamMobile)
Flash the target ROM. The one I picked was a UK version and I was coming from a Baltic EU ROM.
Factory reset (not essential, but good for clearing residual bloatware)
Copy TowelRoot (https://towelroot.com/) on to your device now! (I found that after the next step the system is very unstable)
Extract 'boot.img' (the kernel) from your donor ROM (using 7-zip)
Create an boot.tar.md5 from the 'boot.img' you just extracted using tar-Tool_Odin3-v3.07 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2446269)
Flash the file you just created with ODIN
Install SuperSU (or an SU manager of your choice – Essential to protect you from rogue apps!)
Run TowelRoot
Extract 'boot.img' from your target ROM
Create a boot.tar.md5 (same as before)
Flash the new boot.tar.md5
Finished
You are now effectively running your full Target ROM (we temporarily swapped out the kernel, then swapped it back in). Your system is now fully rooted. Your KNOX counter reads 0x0.
Closing Notes:
I've been researching for at least 6 hours. I've easily missed references, if you think I've used something of yours please PM me!
Please report back so others can benefit from your experience!
There is no guarantee this will work for you! Everything you do is at your own risk. If warranty is essential to you then don't try this.
Hi guys this thread is regarding Updating your mobile Firmware to 6.0[especially for N9208, although is applicable for other models as well]
First, lets observe two scenarios in which you might be
CASE- 1
You are rooted
To upgrade you'll need to first download the latest firmware or atleast the same firmware as the one in which you currently are [Ex. You have APC1 you can download APC1 or higher(APC3) however at this point you cannot install any firmware lower than what you already have (Ex.AOK8)]
After you've downloaded the firmware compatible with your phone,I would recommend you to make a nandroid backup and then Flash it through odin
Instructions [From Sammobile]
Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Download Odin v3.10.7
Extract Odin ZIP file
Open Odin v3.10.7
Reboot Phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait few minutes
Now go to software updates and update to android 6.x
CASE-2
You are not rooted and have not tripped Knox
Now this case is important especially for N9208 users. To upgrade you'll have to simply wait for the firmware to be available for your device and region specifically. If you try to flash a Firmware other than your region [Ex.Taiwan that has 6.x ota] you'll not only be highly likely to trip knox but also take an attempt to downgrade your firmware (Taiwan 5.1.1 is still not APC3).
I know the instructions seem pretty straight forward and general. However I received 3 PMs regarding the above concern so I thought to share with you guys.
I'll add a few more info soon

No Guys you cannot flash Taiwan Rom into different region phones. They have different bootloaders and would simply fail to work. You'll end up with knox tripped devices with the same firmware as you had. Don't try it!

Happened to me already
But Samsung seem to have fixed the Deep Sleep issue with MM.
Does this mean that following this CASE-1 will not trip the power drain issue for previously rooted device?

Hi, I have a N900W8 (Canada) and I am in Lollipop. I am looking for the Marshmallow bootloader & modem for N900W8.
Also, im looking to root my phone other than the cf auto root method. Because after flashing the cf-autoroot for n900w8, my buttons stopped working.
Thank you.
There is no marshmallow bootloader or modem.
You can flash SuperSU from twrp.

Just use the latest LP bootloader and modem.

I thought it should be a marshmallow bl/cp for a marshmallow rom. Didnt know i can use a lollipop.
And for the supersu, i just need to flash twrp then flash supersu from chainfire website?
Thank you.
There is no MM bootloader and modem because Samsung never released a MM build for the Note 3.
Yes, just flash twrp and Chainfire's supersu.
@audit13 do you know how to get the modem and bootloader from a stock firmware (tar.md5) ?
Not sure if you can extract it from a stock rom but it may be easier to just flash the entire rom in Odin.

AFAIK, there is no custom kernel that is compatible with the stock Samsung ROM because the Samsung Note 3 apps require a Samsung kernel.
Hi.
Hi, sorry to make it alive. I have a Canadian Samsung Note 3 with (bell mobility) carrier. And, I'm searching to root my phone for removing bloatware and pushing the power out. But and completely newb, and no idea where to start. I have try towelroot and Kings with no success.

There is a custom kernel for stock note3 lolipop firmware which is called lean kernel, idel kernel, ater97 kernel and shinto kernel.... Do ur research before saying thinks u don't knw about ok bro.
@jgun007, I said "AFAIK", I never said there wasn't a kernel for the Canadian note 3 sm-n900w8 which is the model referred to in the subject line of this thread and discussed in this thread.
I see that lean kernel is for the n900t (T-mobile note 3) which is not the same model as the Canadian note 3: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2488233
I see idel kernel here but I don't see the Canadian note 3 model listed as being compatible: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...nt/kernel-idlekernel-leankernel-fork-t3241582
I see arter kernel here for the n9005 which is not the same model # as the Canadian note 3: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/arter97-kernel-galaxy-note-3-t3028148
I see the thread for the shinto kernel was closed and the last post was in January 2015, about 2 years ago and I didn't see any mention of compatibility with the n900w8: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/help/shinto-kernel-t2895089

Model number sm-n9000w8

Hi, I've been looking for the firmware for many hours but I can't even download the Samsung Note 4 N910F firmware. Samfirm no longer works, on other hosts I download a damaged file.
I currently have ROM Resurrection installed, but I have to go back to stock, can I do it with ODIN? where can I download the firmware for N910F ITALIA NO BRAND?
can you install the stock rom also with twrp?
Thanks!

Do factory reset from stock recovery after flash
https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-note-4/firmware/SM-N910F/ITV/download/N910FXXU1DRI2/256089/
From twrp you can only flash custom roms not stock firmware.

I have issues aswell. When the setup screen should come, all kinds of services stop working (f.e. "Surface/UI stopped working")
What I tried (N910F Germany, originally T-Mobile Branding but unlocked):
- Flash Stock Rom via Odin (tried both Vanilla and T-Mobile version): https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-note-4/firmware/SM-N910F/DBT/
- Rom + PIT: https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...te-4-pit-files-repartiton-f-g-c-t-w8-t3282641
- Rom + PIT + BL + Modem: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=41392
Would need a tutorial for a clean install if Kernels or other stuff were modified like in the Ketan Rom.
EDIT: I got it to work, with the files from this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/note-4-debrick-img-t3488114
Flashed everything with odin from this folder (except boot_recovery_v2.pit) https://mega.nz/#F!QIMmFRIT!Ns3AM-n0FUoMqOOWUif9ng!YN9lgLRI
I originally had a T-Mobile Brand, now its Vodafone Brand. You might try swapping the Firmware with a brandless one for Italy from Sammobile, might work and if not I don't think you crash anything with it (the files are for 5.1.1, so take a 5.1.1. Firmware and update).

Thank you all, luckily I found the firmware archive file I had saved and flashed everything with odin. It worked well. Thanks again
