Hi to all,
I am posting the link for a cwm as closest to stock for the european atrix (nordics greece), with bootloader unlocked, rooted, mem and battery fix. It's as close to stock with the aforementioned modifications. I thought this cwm
may be helpful to fruitcakes (they were missing the european ones) or anybody who want to revert to unlocked, rooted stock.
The process I followed was the following:
1. Flash from 2.3.6 based rom to stock 2.3.4 of the european sbf (nordics and greece) 1FF-olympus_emara-user-2.3.4-4.5.2A-74_OLE-31.20-release-keys-signed-NonEFIGSRetail-EU (kindly uploaded by haki.gr)
2. unlock (intl fix 1)
3. install romracer's cwm
4. rooting with root_cwm.img
5. memory fix with ramfix.img, and
6. battery fix with jug6 fix2.img
7. cwm full backup (including webtop) and upload
Information (reading from the phone)
System version 45.31.20.MB860.NonEGIGSRetail.en.EU
Android version 2.3.4
Baseband N_01.100.00R
Webtop WT-1.2.0-133_38
Kernel 2.6.32.9
Build number 4.5.2A-74_OLE-31.20
I can't post the link normally because I haven't reached 8 messages, but it is
at filefactory file 24tzdjygmy3z n Cwm-marmoras-stage1-2_3_4-en-eu_zip
(put www and com before and after filefactory and replace spaces with /)
Hope it is helpful
Hi, thanks for this. I tried installing using Koush CWM 5.0.2.0 and I get:
"Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update package...
Installation aborted."
I'm running a euro atrix (originally t-mobile) SIM unlocked, rooted, currently on CM9 ROM.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
Hi Appy,
I tried to flash back, there was a system error, I think I messed up the recovery process. Just to be safe, I will remove the file, redo it, and post an MD5 (just in case of corrupt files).
I don't know if it makes any difference that I used the romracers.
brilliant. thanks a lot!
Hi
Could you send me this fruitcake?
thx

Hi to everybody!
I just bought a galaxy tab branded h3g (italy)
Those are my current features:
PDA: P1000XWJJ3
PHONE: P1000XXJID
CSC: P1000HUIJJ3
So, it's a bit outdated and i'd like to update to new JMI FW!
How to update?
How to backup my current firmware so to return back to it and avoid problems with guarantee?
Which fw do you advice me to flash in to improve performances (and possibly, as i said, go back to my current FW whenever ill feel to)?
Oh, and what about clockworkmod recovery? Should i install it before flash new firmware? (i installed rom manager...and waiting for your instructions)
Thank you all!
Hey mate, well the best instructions I can recommend would be my guide for Overcome v1.2.0, and that would also be my recommendation for a ROM, performs extremely well. This also includes CWM installation and changing your core filesystem to ext4 for increased performance.
Check out the ROM details here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=932082
My guide can also be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11836202
For a Pre-Clockwork Backup, RotoBackup is the best current method. Info here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=850359
I hope this helps, and Good Luck

Thank you for your infos!
What about to install clockworkmode recovery via rom manager first?
That's what im supposed to do:
1) Installa clockworkmode recovery from rom manager, so to backup my current h3g italy stock FW
2) install your custom rom OVERCOME
3) if dont like it, or need to revert back to stock firmware, i can use the backup made with clockworkrecovery previously installed via rom manager!
am i right?
Thank you in advance!
P.S.: what does it means that overcome rom doesent include "Modem"?
Hi, I have a Galaxy Tab Vodafone (italy). can I follow the same procedure?
I'm only worried for the gsm module, can I have problem for this? thanx
I flashed the JMI standard rom from samfirmware.com and its fine. However you will need to run a little boot unlocker app if ever you want to flash a custom rom in the future. Just search for "JM* galaxy tab" and you'll find the app.
Sometimes standard isn't so bad.... ;-)

Just followed overcome tutorial and quickly flashed overcome 1.2.1 rom+kernel!
I desperately need some help.
I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 (8gb). Here are some details about this phone:
Model Number: GT-I9000
Firmware Version: 2.3.2
Baseband Version: I9000XXJPK
Build Version: Gingerbread.XWJV1
The thing is, I want to root my phone and install custom ROMs and I have absolutely no idea how to do it. I've tried searching everywhere but I can't seem to find out how to do it. There is no information for 2.3.2!
Apparently, 2.3.2 is a beta version and I have no idea how my phone has Gingerbread.
To check whether my phone was already rooted or not, I installed Titanium Backup and it does not run because it needs "root privileges". So, my phone is not rooted.
Please can someone help me on what I need to do? I'm completely lost and desperately in need of help! A step-by-step guide would go a long way!
Thanking you in advance!
The easiest way to root is via super one click. You need to instal the same. You'll find the link in xda forums.

Yes, firstly you need to read the numerous guides already available in xda.
Secondly an excellent single source for firmwares, guides and pc tools is samfirmware.com
Thirdly, and only after you have done extensive research here you desperately need to update your firmware. You must have bought your phone second hand because 2.3.2 JV1 has never been officially released. It was the first leaked alpha release of gingerbread for SGS several months ago and is VERY experimental. An excellent source for current GB 2.3.3 JVH is Ramad's link here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011901
Best of luck...you've bought a cracking phone and the members here are very helpful (as long as you do your bit and thoroughly familiarise yourself with site content)
Thank you ever so much for the kind help!
I managed to find a website that had a step-by-step guide in very little words (but it was a complete guide) and that has helped me with my problems. I've updated to Android 2.3.3.
Yes, this community is great.
I was the same bit just read the development forums and figured it out

Unfortunately CF root doesn't work well with it but this method does: -
How to root and install busybox:
* Download Odin version of FuguRoot: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1010141 (Remember to thank nikademus for his excellent work!)
* Download and extract the original and untouched Kernel:
XWJVH Kernel: Download (5.6 MB) (Double-Click to extract)
XWJVB Kernel: Download (5.6 MB) (Double-Click to extract)
XWJVA Kernel: Download (5.6 MB) (Double-Click to extract)
XXJVK Kernel: Download (5.6 MB) (Double-Click to extract)
* Flash zImage-root tar file as PDA with no pit and no re-partition, let the phone boot until it enters charging mode then disconnect the phone.
* Re-enter Download Mode
* Load the extracted original Kernel tar file as PDA only, no pit and no re-partition, connect the phone and flash the original Kernel.
* Done!
Enjoy your SGS.
Supercurio's kernel is excellent too. I rooted via fuguroot which worked fine, but have now flashed supercurio's.

It might have been asked before but I couldn't find the solution. I am in need of a guide to install Argen2Stone 3.0 onto my milestone 2 currently running on the froyo kernel. I don't want to flash any sbf that is not downgradable because I really like the MIUI which (to my understanding) is only working for froyo kernels.
I know that the Chinese GB can be downgradable? But I'm not sure which one to get. The link on http://and-developers.com/sbf:milestone2 says "DE/AT/CH" under country, and not specifically Chinese, so I am wondering if this is the downgradable sbf to flash. Then if it is, multiupload isn't working... So I need a mirror if anyone have one :s.
Then after I flashed the sbf file, all I have to do is to restore the nandroid? Anything else I need to be aware of to prevent myself getting stuck with stock GB?
Thanks in advance.

As long as you don't apply the Vivo (Brazil) and Personal (Argentina) you're good to go. With 2.3.4 UK and 2.3.6 Retail Brazil (and several others) you'll be able to downgrade with the tutorial that's in the Android Development section (look at the topic and see how it works, it's on the first page), even though they don't use the Chinese Kernel.
Yeah but the link to multiupload is still not working. I also would prefer if I could just flash the CH rom and if I don't like it, flash back the froyo.
This is the download link of uk 2.3.4 stock rom from china
The md5 is not the same as the original ,so measure whether it is suit for you
115.com/file/dn8kptoc#
Add http yourself. If you dun know chinese ,the image I uploaded may help you.
I have uploaded a image that is "about phone" after i flash this sbf
I too am looking for a solution to this. I hate the multi-touch bug present in the UK kernels and wish that ROM devs would use CH instead. AFAIK only Endless's CM7 uses CH kernel as standard.
I am have rooted my phone installed 2init i tried installing cm7 update-cm-7.1.0-jordan-signed but wen i get into custom recovery and select install from ad card i get an error sayin cannot mount sd card. Wats wrong am i doin it wrong...plz help

Same issue here...(although I think I have a red lens defy).
Here are the specs of my phone:
System version: Moto_version.2.51.1.MB525.Retail.en.GB
Model number: MB525
Firmware version: 2.1-update
Baseband version: EPU93ST2_U_03.0A.01
Kernel version: 2.6.29 [email protected] #1
BPflex version: UCAJRDNEMARAB1B80AA030.0R
APflex version: GAS_EMEA_UCAJORDANRTEU_P048
Build number: JRDNEM_U3_2.51.1
A clue can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1032212
Q: I can't flash from recovery, I get an sdcard mount error.
A: It seems to be related with phone's who are using version 2.51. To solve, try to flash any recent SBF file. If you want to do a nandroid first, check if SD Recovery works for you.

So the SDcard problem seems to originate from the version. The solution which has been provided is to flash any recent SBF file. This is where I am stuck at present.
1)What SBF file is recommendable?
2) is it really required to do take a nandroid image?
Perhaps something to mention: I am working without phone SIM and with a 2 GB Kingston SD card.
Flash a froyo ROM, root and instal 2nt init. Best a non blur ROM (then you don't have to register)
If you don't want to go to eclair (void warranty, official upgrade for your country) you don't have use nand. Nordic is a good choose.

Hi,
thanks for the reply, greatly appreciated. No, I don't want to go back to eclair, since I do not have any warranty anymore....
Where can the ROMs be obtained? I stumbled onto the website as provided by Moto defy a beginners guide (grrr, I cannot provide URL's here) where a whole list of SBFs are given.
However, Nordic seems to be a Gingerbread SBF? Which one to pick in order to get CM working?
Thanks! TY
Problem has been solved.
I updated the phone with Motorola update manager to version 2.2.1.
After the update, the installation of CM worked perfect.

if you want to flash a zip you have to reboot into custom recovery. you are in stock recovery.
if you didn't install cwm, you have to do that first. a start would be to read the beginners guide. (sticky in general section). good luck.
@ measel
can you give me more information pls ?

Read this for educational purposes (it explains about flashing, rooting and so on...):
ALLINONEBEGINERSGUIDE: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216982
WIKI: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Motorola_Defy
especially here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wik...rt_the_2ndinitdefy_bootloader.2Frecovery_menu
There you will most probably figure out how to install zips and stuff.
Baseband switching is an advanced task I'd say.
Things you probalby have to do first:
root > install 2ndinit > flash your zip and hope it's compatible
Good luck.

Does that work on stock roms as well? I don't think so.
Not everyone has CM or any other custom rom installed...
Hi guys! I have similar problem on my Defy+ (bl7), on every custom ROM I can make calls or use data for couple of hours, and then it suddenly stops. Only reboot helps, but not always. I tried switching basebands with bb switcher, not helping, also checked APN settings, tried flashing again and again and nothing helps.
Only thing i haven't tried is changing baseband version, from EPU93_U_00.60.00 (on custom ROM) to EPU93_U_00.60.03 (which i have on stock). But i have no idea how to do it! Any guesses?
