Use unlocked Aria without data plan?

If I buy an HTC Aria and unlock it, would I be able to use my existing GSM card (on AT&T "Blue" network (older GSM)) to make phone calls and connect via wifi without upgrading my plan or buying data plan? I don't need 3G support but would welcome a new phone that would allow me to jump on wifi and get on the web now and then.
Possible?
I would think other folks would be interested in this same scenario and I tried searching, but couldn't find anything.

I can't think of a reason why you wouldn't be able to do that. I would think that any phone that obeys GSM standards that you stick a SIM in, should make calls on the network provided you have an active account. You don't need a data plan in order to do anything*, as I'm sure you know; however, that does mean you need to ensure you turn mobile networking off so you don't accidentally end up racking charges up for network access.
*YMMV, this has worked for me with different phones in the past.

because ATT scans the system for imei numbers occasionally you will ahve a data plan forcefully added at some point. If you call att and have a data block applied to your line you can supposedly lessen your chance of getting caught but its no guaruntee.
i find this business practice to be questionable at best but there is no sure fire way around it. They'll even add the plan to ouut of network phones that can't use their 3g band like the t-mobile version of N1.
Even if you call and convince them to remove you from the plan (an arduous process from what i understand) they'll add you back on in the next sweep.

i know a problem with this that occured on the iPhone was the EDGE network that the phone would randomly communicate with, idk how our phones work exactly with the whole edge/3g thing but its something that was a known issue with iphones

You will be fine. When you activate the phone it asks if you have a data plan and gives you a option to say you don't have a data plan and to use WiFi only. And if your still worried you can download a HTC widget that turns off 3g completely. I have the 2gb data plan and I still disable 3g and WiFi unless I'm using it. So ya go get on because its a really great phone. Ps: about what another chap said about the iPhone using data with out his consent. Don't worry this is Android You have control over everything. One of the reasons we love android so much.

Thanks everyone for the info. I'll be giving this a go and will update this thread with the results.
Now I just have to make a final decision between the Aria and the Nexus One... I like the smaller size of the Aria but it seems like the Nexus is a better phone, and will have less AT&T issues... If anyone has a strong opinion one way or the other, feel free to share.

Aria or Nexus One
My wife and son both have Nexus One's. I have the Aria and think it is great. It was also a money issue. The Nexus One was $500 more. But I am not disappointed with my decision.
I have the Aria rooted and removed AT&T'S stuff. Put on Google Voice, Gizmo5, and Sippdroid and now have a VOIP phone. It works great and no problems with dropped calls yet.

If that was true, ATT wouldn't allow me to still have the unlimited $15/mo data plan from my original RAZR on every smartphone I've owned since getting rid of the RAZR. They still list me as a RAZR owner even though I've gone through 6 smartphones (3 were iPhones, Moto Q9C, Verizon Imagio Worldphone, Moto Backflip) now over the last two years and I still only pay $15/mo for unlimited internet.

yeah, and ive been using an unlocked blackberry storm on att for quite some time and used a blackjack and htc touch pro before that. they would have caught me a while ago if that was true.

its a newer policy that started late last year. for every person i've heard of still getting away with it there are dozens that haven't. there have even been people that switched from their smartphone w/o data to a dumbphone and then back to their original smartphone and have been nabbed by the scan. If you had a smartphone with no data before the policy change there is likely the feature "Smartphone Exclusion" on that line exempting you from the data plan (unless they notice that you switch phones that is).
they only scan for certain model's imei numbers( but good luck finding the list of which they scan for). For a while n1 users were getting away with it but have are now being nailed quite quickly.
Its right in the contract (that you sign automatically just by not canceling your service) that if they notice you using whatever they deem a "smartphone" they'll smack you with a data plan. The customer service reps are supposedly under the threat of suspension/firing if they remove the data plan as long as your sim is in said smartphone. People who have gotten them to remove the plan by switching phones got nabbed faster if they switched back.
I'm not here defending their position, as i find the whole situation to be a shadey money grab, just telling the OP how it is.
my only real tip is to call and have a data block applied to your line before ever putting a sim in your aria. The only fool proof way to avaoid data on a smartphone is to jump to t-mobile's no ctract plan unforutunately

I gotta agree here and tell you that the scanning process is real.
The key is that they have to care to put your IMEI number in their database (or rather, a range of IMEI's that includes your phone). When your IMEI comes up in one of their scans, it's done.
I had a Rogers Magic on my account for 5-6 months, never had a problem. When the Nexus One became available for AT&T, I immediately gave the magic to my mom and got myself an N1.
For a while I had no issue, must have been 3 months on the cheapy data plan. Then, sometime last month (I think) my phone was moved to the smartphone plan. Before I called AT&T, I checked the forums and sure enough, everyone with an AT&T N1 was being switched to the smartphone plan forcefully.
So, it's a matter of chance really. If you have a phone that shouldn't be on their network and is unlikely anyone would pay the expense and use it on their network, well... there's a chance they won't have your IMEI in their database. However, if it's one of their phones and it's a smartphone, you have little choice.
Fortunately though, they now have a better "tiered" data structure that can ultimately be cheaper... but it still sucks.

Unlock Code
I finally got the phone but AT&T will definitely NOT unlock the Aria. Support said it's probably because it's an exclusive phone. They were kind enough to mention that it "may be possible" to get a code somewhere else
Can anyone recommend a reputable unlocker? I tried one on Ebay already but they were unable to find a code for the Aria. They offered to try another server for an additional $5 but I figured I'd go another route. They refunded the money though...

Returning the Aria
So after spending most of the day trying to sort this out, here's the deal. The phone I received from Amazon (and paid full price without a phone plan) can/will NOT be unlocked by AT&T or HTC or the unlockers on ebay.
AT&T couldn't tell me which phones might have this problem. The ONLY solution to be sure is to not buy anything from AT&T... which is what I plan on doing from here on out.
Too bad really... it's a nice little phone.

The scanning is real but i have been using a smartphone on my regular account for a few years now and didnt get caught yet. Seems people get caught easily when their account becomes delinquent. I let my mom use my old smart phone because hers were damaged and within 24 hours i received and email and a text message was sent to the phone saying that they placed the $15 200MB dataplan on her account.
I had to call them up and give them the IMEI number for her old phone in order for them to take it off which they didnt want to do right away because the account was past due, but was done eventually. But if you have the medianet bundle and they put the data plan on it removes the medianet bundle from your phone which they cannot add back on because the option no longer exists. I fought tooth and nail for them to put it back on but got nowhere.
I still have my Medianet bundle 5MB + 1500 texts for $15 a month that u use on my Aria and i dont even use the data part because i have WIFI at home, WIFI at work and Optimum Online WIFI most places outside so since the phone automatically switches to a WIFI signal when its in range its useless to pay for data i will not use.
What i have noticed and users have to be careful about is that if you send or receive a MMS while out of WIFI range the phone will not automatically disconnect from the 3G data until your back in range of a connectible WIFI sourcel. During this time if its syncing with your Mail, facebook, news, feeds, and other data things you can easily rack up 20MB

its possible. Ive done it on an old ATT blue account from 6+ years ago. The trick is just getting them to unlock it for you by telling them you need to use it overseas. This needs to be done over 611 or other customer service number. They will need the IMEI number and will either email you unlock information after a few days or give it to you immediately. My ATT blue account blocked the customer service from knowing which phone I was currently using. They THOUGHT I was using my first phone that I signed with(nokia 3300).
Also note that ATT Blue accounts for the most part cannot be touched (feature wise). Ive called them multiple times and asked for a data plan and other features but they were never able to do it.
This is my experience, it may or may not work for you. Note that I have a FAN account, but that shouldnt matter.

So the question is where/how did you get your phone? Has anyone bought a phone from Amazon that could be unlocked? I seem to be missing something.
If I could have just gotten the Aria unlocked, it'd work just as I wanted.

Exactly my point... some Arias can be unlocked and some can't. I bought mine from Amazon full price/no contract; it can't be unlocked. Which ones can?

Postpaid Verizon Moto G does work on Tracfone.

I just thought I would post about this briefly. I searched before hand and was unable to find a single post online anywhere saying that anyone had tried this, but since I already have an account here I thought this would be a quick and easy way to get proof of this online.
But it is official.
My wife's 4 year old Droid Incredible was just put on Tracfone BYOP less than a month ago and decided to die last week, so we bit the bullet and picked up a refurbished POSTPAID Verizon Moto G on eBay for $90 shipped. They said it would only work on Verizon post paid or Page Plus, but we received the phone today and my wife activated it just fine by calling Tracfone.
We have the $200 yearly plan for 4500 minutes, 4500 texts and 4.5Gb of data, and our service end date was for some reason pushed all the way back to 2018. So, depending on usage, we could be paying $200 for 4 years of service and $90 for an awesome phone to use on it.
Definitely the best deal going right now for people who have moderate cell phone usage but want something that works well when its needed. Also the phone updated to 4.4.4 with zero issues over wifi.

I'm not aware of any postpaid verizon moto g's in existence. Sounds like you got a prepaid model. What's the model #? XT_____ ?

Verizon Moto G working on Tracfone QUESTION

I have a QUESTION:
Was your smartphone already activated on Verizon when you attempted to verify the MEID number with Tracfone? In other words, when you turned on your Moto G smartphone for the first time, did you accept the prompt to activate it on Verizon as part of the first boot up sequence?
I am asking because the phone I purchased on eBay (Moto G XT1028) was used and refurbished. Tracfone has been unable to accept the MEID number to activate the smartphone on its system, even though Straight Talk, Net10, AND my local Verizon wireless store checked the MEID and found the ESN clean. I am wondering if perhaps my used smartphone is too clean. Does it need to be activated first on Verizon before activating it on Tracfone?
I've been on the phone with Tracfone tech support for hours, and on their chat, too. Any help here will be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

I am writing to report SUCCESS! And, with apologies to all, I am answering my own question. The prepaid CDMA USED Verizon Moto G (1st gen) 3G smartphone with clean ESN should NOT be activated on Verizon before taking it to Tracfone online. "Refurbished" turns out to be okay.
Getting the Moto G accepted was a hassle taking 2, very long sessions over the phone with Tracfone, but it was successful last night. I read elsewhere that if you do not get your phone activated the first time, keep trying. It was good advice. To my amazement, second time going through the steps with tech support, Tracfone registered the Moto G.
I purchased mine on eBay for $48 with free shipping. The title read: Motorola Moto G XT1028 8GB Android 4.3 Smartphone 4.5" Verizon 3G LTE - Black. The seller buyrite7 is slow to ship so cannot recommend. I tested my Verizon CDMA Prepaid smartphone MEID on Net10 and Straight Talk online to see if it was acceptable for their systems (yes), AND went to my Verizon wireless store where the MEID came back a clean ESN.
It appears that the BYOP process must be done while speaking on the phone with a rep 1-800-867-7183. When you go through the initial telephone tree, at the end when the recording asks for your telephone number, instead hit 0 to each request until he puts a human on the line.
I was charged $9.99 to "activate" the phone using my credit card. Also, over the phone, I had to choose quickly a talk/text/data card to apply to the new phone. The tech said the $9.99 "30 minute card" (tripling to 90) was the cheapest. Instead, have the page from tracfonewireless.com up on your screen because there halfway down you will find the value plan for 50 minutes (tripling to 150) for $9.99 which is a better deal. If you sign up (later) for automatic payment, your unused minutes continue to accumulate in your account. You never lose them.
The Moto G is a dream. It is snappy and full of features that I am just beginning to explore. I hope to tie it into my Google Voice account so as to keep the text and talk load low. My parting word is: do NOT give up with the Moto G on Tracfone. Keep trying until you find a tech who knows how to get the job done. Best wishes.

Hey, thanks for posting this. I am interested in using a Moto G on Tracfone (the Samsung fascinate doesn't cut it anymore)
I have a few questions, if you don't mind. First, does MMS work? Second, I found a listing on eBay that is refurbished with a clean esn. Do your think this one will work? Third, how is the tracfone service? Are calls crisp and loud? Does texting work ok? and how fast is the device?

That's a recent change. Until recently you could do it all online.
The old site may still be active https://www.tracfone.com/byop_cdma/index.jsp
But recently the link from tracfonewireles.com or tracfone.com goes to tracfone-orders.com where you can buy a NAC w/ or w/o airtime that then get mailed to you. No further info on what to do once you have the NAC in your hands. I assume the above link is included with the package.
But, you can still purchase the NAC from the link above and register the phone.
Once registered you have to activate in a second step, that included adding airtime, either form a card purchased elsewhere, but in that step, or from another active TF device (also transferring the phone number)

You are right! The vital link to check the MEID and zip code on the Tracfone site : https://www.tracfone.com/byop_cdma/index.jsp still works. I will be using it to check my second Moto G arriving from eBay tomorrow. Thank you for sharing it!

If your refurbished with a clean esn purchase-to-be is a prepaid CDMA USED Verizon Moto G (1st gen) 3G smartphone it should work on Tracfone's BYOP program. Most people go through the activation without a hitch. If your device meets the cited specs & there is a problem getting Tracfone to activate the phone, call them and go through the process again and again until it works. Don't quit.
I just got my phone (1 day) up and running so have not tried MMS. Have not sent any texts yet, but received several just fine.
The Tracfone service is good so far. Calls are crisp and loud.
The device is VERY FAST, and what surprises me most is how good it is at surfing the web bringing back results on 3G (a joy) and very easy to read on the screen. In comparison, my Samsung 7" tablet is somewhat clunky at the task. (A note: to make the Moto G faster, I disabled all unwanted apps keeping them from draining resources, e.g. residual Verizon apps, Google News, etc. )
It is in line to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update soon.

Interested in this too. Got a brand new Verizon Moto G at Walmart for $39 (Black Friday sale). I bypassed the activation screen easily so it has not been activated on Verizon.
I was sure that PagePlus would not take the ESN and it didn't. The Net10 site accepted the ESN though and showed what kit to get in the store to activate the phone The Tracfone site, well, that MEID and zip code link does nothing. I put in the MEID and zip and nothing happens clicking Continue. I'd rather have Tracfone as I only need pay as you go, not monthly.
I know they sell Net10 Bring your own phone kits at stores, does Tracfone sell those in stores?

Then it will still be listed as a prepaid device and you won't be able to activate it anywhere other than Verizon (on the $45 ALLSET plan).

I haven't see the TF kits in stores yet, but it won't work.
On the TF site, after you enter the MEID and zip, =press continue and the page reloads. Should grey out the items you entered and give a selection box below them labeled "*Is your phone currently active?" with yes or no choices.
Selecting yes gives you a note about porting and a box to agree to port the number or deactivate the phone first. Then select that you have a NAC (purchased elsewhere) or you need to buy one.
Selecting no, gives the 2 NAC choices, and and option to "upgrade" from another BYOD device
If it fails at any point it means your phone is not compatible, even if the error messages don't say that.
I just checked it with a known compatible MEID and it was working fine.

wws12, Its specifications appear to exactly match Tracfone's requirements. It matches the one that I purchased (http://www.ebay.com/itm/361116794967?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT) that Tracfone activated. No guarantees, but it should work fine. Best wishes.
A caution to others who are tempted to purchase a NEW Verizon phone. Do not do it if you intend activating on Tracfone. Tracfone is very clear that the phone must be USED. [Q] Verizon grandfathered unlimited data plan.. S4 to Moto X Pure switch questions?

Hey everybody, I have a few questions regarding the new Moto X pure., this seems like an awesome site and I'm excited to be part of the community. I have been reading through the forums and doing some research, I'm just looking for some clarification.
Some background info: grandfathered in with an unlimited data plan from Verizon. Been using an S4 for the past couple years (full retail), it is not rooted, FoxFi for tethering. Main uses for phone are pictures, phone stuff (calls/texts), games, and tethering.
The moto x pure seems like a perfect fit. Sounds like foxfi doesn't work with motorola. I know that speculating on being able to root is a tough subject but things sound promising.
Questions:
How does one transfer current phone data and plan to the newly purchased moto x pure? Should moto x pure be rooted first?
What is a good tethering app?
How does one keep phone "simple", driving factor for rooting is to gain ability to tether?
If phone has ability for external storage, why would people want >16GB?
Lastly, how sweet is that bamboo back gonna look?!?! Wonder if you could woodburn some designs in there?

I'm in the same boat as you, (upgrading from Verizon Galaxy S4) but unfortunately I lost my unlimited data plan already because of someone else on the account.
Anyway, you can keep the unlimited data plan very easily. The only thing you need to do to get Verizon service on your new Moto X Pure is get a working Verizon nano sim card, and you can do this two ways.
1. This option is great because you don't have to deal with Verizon at all. You take your micro sim card from your S4, cut it along the edges, and transform it into nano sim card. I know this sounds risky, but there are countless tutorials on how to do this, and there are even cutters you can buy on Amazon for about $4 that will cut it perfectly. Further, the only information on the sim card that needs to be read by the phone is in the very center, so there is room for some error.
2. You can call Verizon customer service or go to a store and ask for a new nano sim. Just don't talk to them about changing plans and you will be able to get a free nano sim and keep your data plan.
I have some high confidence that someone is going to root this Moto X fairly easily. We already have an unlocked bootloader, and that has made some methods possible that we could probably achieve root with. But you do not need to root it first. I'm going to play around with stock android and see how long I can live without root. (I'll probably give up in the first month XD)
As for tethering options, I remember reading somewhere on this forum that Motorola was going to add a native option. Whether the app is free to use or not has yet to be determined, but if all else fails, I use Barnacle Wifi Tethering and it is very consistent.
Your Moto X will be "simple" out of the box. That is one of the selling points. It's not gonna have touchwiz or any other unwanted skins, but it'll be pure android (hence the "Moto X Pure"). Further, the Moto X is being sold directly to consumers so the carriers can't get their mitts on it and load it up with bloatware. So as long as you don't download too many apps, your phone will be simple and fast.
Internal storage: You're right, 16GB and a microsd card slot will be sufficient for many users. I was considering this option as well. However, I have a 64GB microsd, which I keep over 45GB of music on and I don't want anything else on the card. So I bought a 32GB phone, which I'll keep apps, photos, and videos on, while the card will hold all of my music. It's all about personal preference.
BTW, android Marshmallow (the new android release coming this Fall) will allow the microsd card to be considered apart of the phone storage. So you can put anything on it that you would on your phone's storage. Buying a 16GB phone and a 64GB/ 128GB microsd card can definitely save people money!
I don't know anything about the bamboo or other wood designs, I got black leather with champagne accents. So excited, haha.

Now is there a sequence to set this unit? Or simply cut the Micro SIM to Nano SIM, put in the Moto X, turn it on and set?

Use a cutting tool. They have one in most of the T-Mobile stores in the area, not sure about Verizon stores, but they should. Go in ask if they have a sim cutter and if you can use it.

I highly advise against cutting down a SIM, especially since we have a SIM tray and not a slot, too many jams and breakage issues.
Go to the local T-Mobile or Verizon store, whichever is applicable, and have them transfer your number to a real nano SIM.
There are plenty of referenced out there as to why you should never do this a quick Google search will find, including it could compromise your warranty... Apple was kind of famous for this, and there is no reason that Moto couldn't consider this "abuse" as well (although I have no point of reference for that statement). Also note that very old full size SIMs can have stuff in them beyond the edges of the 4FF SIM size.

I want to thank you for an advice. I ordered one from amazon and work on that. Verizon blocked users like me from getting a new Nano SIM, I would be very surprise if they let me use the tool to cut it... Problem is with new unit and new Nano is that Verizon will not activate it on old grandfathered unlimited plan. Based on conversation with Verizon rep, that plan is coded different and new Moto XPE thru new Nano would coded differently. To me it's clean talk, Verizon doesn't want to have new, better and faster phones on old unlimited plan because I would burning their data...
I will try cutting the SIM. Thanks again!

You should do some Googling... Lots of people have gotten nano Sims on unlimited data plans, but your call. Good luck and enjoy your new phone

I have grandfather unlimited data and I cut my sim myself with a tool I bought on amazon. I popped the newly cut nano sim into my moto x pure and it was good to go. Verizon signal pops right on when you turn your phone on and it does not mess up your plan. I have been using this cut sim since the phones came out.

Issues activating MXPE 2015 on Sprint?

I'm reading about issues with Sprint activation on phones purchased from Amazon and Best Buy. Is this everyone, or just a percentage of those MXPE owners?
Who has successfully activated on Sprint AND received the proper SIM from them? If you did, exactly how did you do it?
Who has not been able to activate?

I was able to activate on sprint. They had to leave off the last number in the IMEI to get their system to accept. Then they added a SIM card and everything was good to go. I don't know the details of what SIM card they had to use. My phone came from Amazon.

Just got off the phone with Sprint. I gave them the sku for the sim above and was told it is a worldwide sim and wouldn't work domestically (USA). She suggested a different domestic sim, had her send me both.

But I ordered from moto so the 15th it is for me.
She also said that once more Moto X's were activated the easier the process would be.
In essence Sprint learns by trial and error..
Oh and sprints sim card seem to be device specific.Unlike Verizon and others.
I was thinking cut my Note 3 sim to Nano size and Vaaaala...
But she said that would not have worked. ..
I got a 128 gb sd and clear case and glass shield waiting..
Now if I can just wait it out...lol

Interesting. In anticipation of getting my MXPE from Amazon tomorrow, I went into a Sprint store in Aliso Viejo last week and inquired about activation. The rep told me that I could not just take the SIM out of my Moto X 2013 because it doesn't work with SPARK and the new MXPE does, so it takes a different SIM. He was about to just give me the SIM when his coworker said that I had to have the phone in hand before they would give me the SIM.
That said, I'm just trying to get my ducks in a row for tomorrow morning when I open my phone. I would like to not have any surprise issues. I'm thinking I'll try to activate it myself online using the leave the last number off the imei technique and then head over to a Sprint store for the SIM. Anyone have any thoughts on that strategy?

It's amazing how I hear stories about various sprint stores. I mean you can drive 10 miles and get a totally different experience with customer service reps.
Some are geeks and know exactly what your talking about ,then others don't have a clue.
I find that getting familiar with a sharp rep at a store is invaluable. I mean I go to the same rep,who roots ,knows about xda,and if I do surprise her with something,she quickly researches to give a solid answer.
Same thing with phone support,I've practically hung up on some ,called back to another with better knowledge.
You would think cell phone providers would train their staff or at least one advance rep to talk the xda/geek talk that the average customer would not mention.

Just got back from sprint store. Had a screenshot of the playbook document which I showed to them, also mentioned to leave out the last digit of the IMEI and it activated no problem.

Sprint support for Moto G5 Plus

I purchased an unlocked Moto G5 Plus (XT1687). It was supposed to support sprint. I took it to a sprint store and they told me the phone was not supported. They wouldn't pop in a sim card to verify (just typed the IMEI into their system and reported the results).
Anyone have any advice?

I have same problem ,then I went to Best buy get new sim let them act all done

They should support it. They just need to get right SIM. Try the product numbers below.
The proper Sprint SIM as of this date for a Moto G5 Plus is SIMGLW446C. That part has a Sprint UPC of 019962040146.

I had no problems getting mine done, they just had to setup the computer to say it is a generic device, whatever that means. On Sprint.com it says I have a ZTE Optik, but all works great, so I don't really care.

Sprint Employees are mostly dumb to unlocked phones. They know what's on their shelves. It works, I've activated one online and one in store

Just tell them that you want a nano SIM. They might not be familiar with the phone which is why they say it won't work. You can also tell them that it's the same SIM used in the Nexus 6P, which they probably have activated.

I went to a third Sprint store today, where the employees hemmed and hawed for about 30 minute before finally telling me they just didn't have any of that kind of sim card in stock. They tried to sell me another phone twice. I got the impression (again), that something else was going on.
I went to Best Buy, where they had the sim in stock, but were prevented from accessing my account by the system. I imagine this is because I have a SERO account, so things are starting to fall into place now.
I may try to buy the sim and have them connect it through Sprint support, but this entire adventure has encompassed more than 200 hours of my time, multiple phones, and over $300 to date. Some of that is my fault because I didn't properly research the phones that they would support, and I would be able to root. I didn't pick up the sim today due to fear of investing even more money in this.

I'm all hooked up. I ultimately purchased the SIM and had their online support connect the device. Easy-peasy. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences. I wouldn't have had the nerve to follow through unless people had shared their success with the same device/carrier.

Just tried getting my second Moto G5 Plus on sprint (the first was a 2gb/32gb version easy peasy with right card online by myself). This one for my wife, 4gb/64 not so easy. It doesn't go in their system and out of 7 sprint employees they were all clueless . There is a bunch of posts on the actual sprint support website about how some phones (even if the models are on their accepted byod list) need to be added to the system and it takes 2-3 days. As i mentioned this they looked at me like i was crazy telling me that it should be added to their system instantaneously when they try. Told him to try google search so he can be better at his job and walked out. He did give me the store manager's card, who was not in but......... ill just try with the sprint help support page people before i contact amazon / motorola. Havent had too many issues with amazon and we order alot. Cant believe though that out of 7 people, in a SPRINT store (not one of those that sells sprint services and others) .. and a big one too...... nobody has any ideea that to add a phone (specific phone) to the sprint system (system that lets them activate/ deactivate phone) takes 2-3 days and requires more than just the IMEI number and a "ticket" needs to be created........
